When Sarah Palin entered the world of Twitter on April 29, 2009, nobody knew the phenomenon that would become a one-woman national media empire. Her first tweet stated simply, “This is my official Twitter feed – from here I’ll provide updates on issues concerning Alaskans”. But Palin’s Twitter account catapulted in 2010 with a record number of followers for a politician, media and bloggers awaiting each tweet and Palin’s 140 character statements making national news. Sarah Palin’s tweets have set off fiery debates, corrected false lame-stream media reporting, and has solidified Sarah Palin the brand as a force to be reckoned with.
