Honoring Our Veterans, Including Our Confederate Heroes

Posted by Dr. Fay on November 11, 2015

Today we honor our veterans on the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.  Our veterans past and present have protected America and fought in our wars, sometimes under unthinkable conditions.  Most of us have family and friends who are veterans or currently serving in our armed forces.  We are thankful for their dedication and sacrifice as they have served and fought in our place.

In the Southland, let us also remember the brave men and boys (and a few women) who fought to protect the Southern states from the Northern invasion, also known as Lincoln’s tariff war.  In recent weeks, our Confederate heroes have been maligned by those with a political agenda and/or misinformed.  The history of the Civil War was rewritten after it ended, but the recent Confederate flag controversy has caused much of the true history of the conflict to be unearthed.  To learn more, go here and here

Let’s remember ALL our American veterans!

No politics… no punditry… no picking debate performance winners.

Today is a day to honor the bravest souls in our country’s history. And it’s not flat history for any father, mother, son, or daughter who understands what it takes to serve.

Please give our men and women in uniform extra thanks today, and do something tangibly appreciable for families who have sacrificed along with their heroes – our heroes – the American veteran. From Valley Forge to Falluja – to the wild battlefields of this very moment – we are blessed with freedom because of the hardened resolve of America’s military.

May God bless the United States of America, and let us never forget all those who have placed their lives on the line in our defense.

Thank you, vets. You deserve the best. You honor us.

Ronald Reagan’s Veteran Day Speech Will Make You Cry

November 11, 2015 by

On Veteran’s Day, it’s hard to know what to say, other than “THANK YOU to the veterans” who have served so proudly.

Since it’s been a long time since we’ve had a President who we can respect — in terms of the military, especially — I thought it would be nice to go a little retro with Reagan.

This speech — with “Nearer My God to Thee” playing in the background — is touching and inspirational.

Thank you to everyone who has worn the uniform.

P.S. Speaking of Freedom, did you know my mom’s new book called “Sweet Freedom: A Devotional” is coming out next week??  Pre-order today!
