Mike Potemra: The Palin Juggernaut -How can she not win GOP nomination!-

Posted by citizens4palin on December 6, 2010

When I see the fervor of Sarah Palin’s fans — and by no means just those who swell the adoring crowds who go to her public appearances — I am convinced that the question is not, “How can she win the GOP nomination?” but “How can she not win it?” When you have anywhere between five and fifteen GOP candidates, all expressing basically the same conservative views, how can anyone other than the only one with the passionate fan base possibly win? And yet: Reading between the lines of what conservative-movement people are saying and writing, there is a great deal of worry about the prospect of a Palin nomination.  […]
The choice between Palin and Obama, phrased in the least flattering (to Palin) possible way, is a choice between a woman who may turn out to be seriously inadequate to the job and, therefore, become a failed president; and a man who has already convincingly demonstrated that he is seriously inadequate to the job and, therefore, already is a failed president. This rather changes the “electability” issue, doesn’t it? […]
So far, every gaffe Palin has made and every attack she has endured have only soldered her supporters more securely to her cause. At this point, I think the only way this bond could be broken is through something politically nuclear […]
But there was another politician who faced a similar choice, four years ago: I could be content with the adoring crowds, the bestselling books, the ideological media applauding my every move — or I could go for the presidency. We all know the choice Barack Obama made.

Jon Voight: Sarah Palin Saved Alaska By Stepping Down, I Sure Would Vote For A President Palin

Posted by citizens4palin on December 6, 2010

More than 25 years after the premiere of “Runaway Train,” Voight is back in Alaska this winter to film an Anchorage-based, supernatural thriller. Tentatively titled “Ghost Vision,” the movie stars Voight as a semi-retired Anchorage police detective investigating the disappearance of a young girl.
Here are excerpts from the interview, edited for length:
Q. What are your thoughts on Sarah Palin? Are you a fan?
A. I’m a big fan. I think she’s a remarkable person.
May I say this, to the Alaskan people. I think you should be very proud of her. She certainly represents the spirit of the Alaskan.
She certainly loves her Alaska. She loves it. But there’s something extraordinary in her. She’s very smart. And the attacks against her, even just based on the attacks against her, I would like her. Because all these mean-spirited people try to find something wrong with this very admirable person. It’s quite transparent that they’re just bad-intentioned folks trying to bring down this very nice gal.
Q. Would you vote for her for president?
A. I sure would. I sure would vote for her if she was running for president….Some people have said that they were upset with her for leaving the governorship when she did. I disagree with those people. I think she saved Alaska with that move. She had capable people who were going to take over … She was being attacked, she was being prevented from governing. And they knew it. That’s what they were intending to do.
They were going to bring her down. She had to answer all of these nonsense lawsuits and everybody who’s gone through one lawsuit knows the stress that puts on you. The time that it puts on you. The money it draws from you. She was being destroyed in her governance of the state and in her personal well being
What she did was she took the target and moved it. She took it away from Alaska. Great. She did a great service there. And smart as hell.

Sarah Palin: “America By Heart” Book Tour Details & Flyer

Posted by citizens4palin on November 15, 2010

I’m looking forward to hitting the road again for the release of my new book “America By Heart.” The book is a collection of essays and reflections about our exceptional country. It discusses the ideals we must pass on to the next generation to ensure that we remain, in the words of Reagan, “the shining city on a hill,” and in the words of Lincoln, “the last best hope of earth.”

Below are dates, times, and locations for the tour. Please feel free to contact each venue for more information. My family will be joining me along the way, and they look forward to meeting you as much as I do. We’ll try to add some more stops if time allows. And, of course, we’ll wrap up the whole tour in Alaska just as we did last time.

We can’t wait to see you soon!

Gov Sarah Palin Headed to South Florida Oct 6th

Posted by citizens4palin on September 22, 2010

Sfla Conservative, a local Tea Party group, says its “proudly partnering with The Liberty and Freedom Foundation” to bring the former Alaska governor to the American Airlines Arena Oct. 6 — five days before President Barack Obama comes to town to raise money for imperiled congressional Democrats.

“Governor Palin is in Miami to raise funds to help elect principled grassroots conservatives,” the announcement reads. “You are invited to get involved in this, the most critical midterm election in our Republic’s history.”

The American Thinker: Media’s Self-Defeating Attacks on Sarah Palin

Posted by citizens4palin on September 14, 2010

The American left and its tame media desire — with an intensity that normal individuals would find impossible to understand — to treat Palin the way a pit bull would treat a rabbit: tear her to pieces and toss her aside broken. But each new encounter ends with the governor stronger, more powerful, and more popular than before. What we’re seeing is the latest example of the left’s habit of creating its own nightmares […]

The technique never varies. The left, most commonly by way of the media, targets a particular group or politician, evoking a mammoth, sinister, but unclear threat to the public good. The attacks begin with an air of reasonableness and good faith — the Cronkite/Moyers method — but soon mount in rabidity to the Olbermann/Schultz level. The goal is not simply to oppose or confront the individuals involved, but to destroy them. Within weeks, the left as a whole is involved not only through traditional media, but also through blogs, comment threads, and sites such as DU and Kos.

But in many cases, the issues and personalities involved resonate with the public. When this is true, the forces arrayed against the targets cause no serious damage, instead serving only to increase their visibility and popularity. It’s as if the energy being expended is working in the victim’s favor. Eventually the effort goes hyperbolic, ending in large-scale hysteria and eventual collapse. A wounded left staggers off, whining about how “dumb” and “ill-informed” Americans are […]

The legacy media views politics through exactly that lens: rid the world of Goldwater, of Nixon, and then we will all walk into paradise together. But it never works out that way. After Nixon comes Reagan, and Gingrich, and Palin, and Jindal, and Brewer, and Haley…so it’s all fantasy. There are no climactic battles in politics any more than there are climactic battles in getting up and going to work in the morning.

Politics is not Armageddon. It is an aspect of life, one requiring daily effort. It comprises a guerilla war, won not by mammoth all-or-nothing collisions, but by continual low-key encounters on the level of the commonplace. This is something that a politician would understand, a media figure not at all.

The media’s scorched-earth strategy is innately self-defeating. In attacking Trig Palin, the legacy media insulted every woman raising a disabled child. In making light of Bristol’s woes as a single mother, they infuriated every family suffering through the same crisis […]

On the other hand, much can be learned from a close study of Palin’s response to such attacks. After a naïve slip confronting the adorable Katie Couric, Palin has established a record of manipulating the media unmatched since Reagan’s heyday. A single tweet from Palin’s phone sends tsunamis roaring across the international media sphere. Palin has developed into one of the most media-savvy figures on the current scene.

But that shouldn’t be surprising. There’s one singular fact that the media, with all its research, all its prying, has failed in root out: she has a journalism degree.
