Gov. Palin: A pleasure to spend time with West, Sasse, and the Robertsons at the RLC

Posted by Dr. Fay on May 30, 2014

Governor Palin paid a surprise visit to the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans last night for the first day of the three-day conference. (The complete lineup can be found  here.)   Ben Sasse and Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson were also speakers.  David Freedlander reported on Phil Robertson’s speech here (beware the spin). Governor Palin will be campaigning for Chris McDaniel in Mississipi today.

Great to be down on the bayou today visiting active, motivated constitutional conservatives as we head into midterm elections! The Republican Leadership Convention is in full swing in New Orleans and folks are fired up! The schedule was packed and we’re grateful to you who make it possible to participate in events like this – trying to do our part to get good Americans elected. Thanks to the Tea Party Express for the inspiring rally in support of our grassroots conservative candidate, Col. Rob Maness! He’ll be a great U.S. Senator from here in Louisiana. Thanks for letting me join you today, Maness supporters; what a grand finale to hear this decorated combat vet’s passion for America. Admittedly, Col. Maness got me choked up as he articulated so perfectly the need for new leadership to defend America’s exceptionalism. He knows what’s going on in D.C. is unacceptable. It’s dangerous, it’s put us on the wrong path, and he’ll do all he can to stop this fundamental transformation of the nation he and his sons have spent decades protecting.

Great to spend time with FOX’s Sean Hannity on the air along with his enthusiastic live audience! Those kinds of interviews are pure fun. We pondered together what the leftist mainstream media won’t touch – what exactly IS the “Obama Doctrine?” And how did it happen – the election of someone who can’t grasp the mission of our military, nor prioritize resources to ensure its strength.

It was a pleasure to spend time with patriots like the honorable Col. Allen West tonight and our U.S. Senate candidate from Nebraska, Ben Sasse! Ben’s working so hard and effectively campaigning to work for all Americans with the servant’s heart we need.

It’s always like a breath of fresh air to hang with the Duck Dynasty family, and tonight the Commander himself – Phil Robertson – introduced me to a rising star who happens to be his nephew and should be in elected office! Keep your eye on Zach Dasher, encourage him to jump in the public service arena because the nation needs the courage, energy, and commitment to our Founder’s purpose that Zach can offer.

Tomorrow it’s on to Mississippi to support another great conservative – Chris McDaniel. I’d love to see you there helping elect another “reinforcer” for the good guys in the U.S. Senate. Chris is the man who’s running the race with such a positive message and workable solutions to save our republic. He agrees “the status quo has got to go,” so let’s help him get there to get it done. Friends, he’s solid. He deserves our support.

Again, nothing but gratefulness for the opportunity to touch base with so many of you on the road. You’re inspiring and full of hope, wisdom, and desire for truth. Thank you sincerely, Louisiana, for a warm, wonderful visit.

(Updated) Gov. Palin appears with Rob Maness at Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans

Posted by Dr. Fay on May 29, 2014

Sarah Palin takes stage with GOP Senate candidate Rob Maness in New Orleans: James Varney

When USAF Col. (ret.) Rob Maness addressed the Red State conference in New Orleans last year, his performance was not ready for prime time. He has clearly improved on that count.

Maness delivered a smooth and impassioned speech Thursday evening at the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans. Flanked by his family and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who has endorsed Maness, the military man fired up a room of perhaps 150 at the Hyatt Hotel.

A stream of warmup speakers hit sometimes odd notes, such as ridiculing the Common Core education initiative as “Commie Corps” and contemptuously dismissing many Republicans in Washington as “big government progressives.”

Such language played well with the Tea Party crowd – Louisiana Tea Party organizations have also backed Maness – but it wasn’t continued in remarks from Palin and Maness.

Instead, those two hit broad notes. The key to Maness’ candidacy, Palin said, was the fact he is not “beholden to any political machine.” That outsider status, she said, meant Maness would be the sort of conservative “reinforcement” senators like Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Mike Lee, R-Utah, need.

Maness blistered “Washington bureaucrats” who usurp state and local authority in everything from the classroom to the ocean. Louisiana fishermen, he said, know better than anyone in Washington how red snapper should be harvested in the Gulf of Mexico.

The polls have consistently shown U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy, R-Baton Rouge, as the leading Republican challenger seeking to unseat incumbent Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La.

Maness and Palin concentrated their fire on Landrieu, pointing out she has voted with President Obama more than 95 percent of the time and that she cast key votes for programs like Obamacare that remain deeply unpopular in Louisiana. Sending Landrieu back to Washington for a fourth term, Maness, said, would only continue the sort of detached, sprawling big-government approach most Louisiana voters abhor.

Gov. Palin: Steve Lonegan is the type of fighter we need in Congress

Posted by Dr. Fay on May 28, 2014

Posted on Governor Palin’s Facebook page on Tuesday:

Steve Lonegan gave liberals a fright in 2013 by putting on a fight like the Garden State had never seen against liberal Cory Booker in the special election for U.S. Senate. Never backing down from his conservative principles, Steve won support from Democrats, independents, and a unified GOP in his campaign. This good mayor isn’t done fighting for what’s right! 2014 has called him to run for the open U.S. House seat in New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District, an area he carried by five points in the Senate election.

Steve is the type of conservative leader we need. He believes in the free market principles this country was founded on because he has seen first hand how they can lead to success. Overcoming adversity in his own life, Steve built his successful business from the ground up and was elected mayor of Bogota, NJ. In Washington, he will be a dedicated fighter for lower taxes, balanced budgets, and lessening the burdens of regulation on small businesses. Todd and I enjoyed joining our friend Mark Levin in getting to know Steve and his wife Lorraine on the campaign trail, and I know these patriots are just the type of fighters we need in Congress.

You can learn more about Steve Lonegan and support his campaign at his website

Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, former presidential candidate Rick Santorum and other conservative heavyweights will be at Smokies Stadium next month for an event titled “America’s Last Stand.”

The former Alaskan governor and presidential candidate will be joined by former New York judge Jeanine Pirro and one-time congressman Col. Allen West, who both now contribute to the Fox News Channel. Country crooner John Michael Montgomery and Cuban singer Jon Secada will provide entertainment.

The event is sponsored in part by the Sevier County Tea Party.

Tickets for the June 26 event range from $49 general admission seats to $1,000 VIP Gold access that includes a dinner and meet-and-greet with the guests.

The night’s theme, “America’s Last Stand,” is meant to motivate local voters and encourage them to take control of the country’s political future, said Sevier County Tea Party Chairman Steve Osborn.

“Being proud to be an American is not an arrogant frame of mind, it’s a knowledge we’ve been blessed with the greatest nation in history and we could easily lose it if the people don’t wake up soon,” he said.

Remembering Our Fallen

Posted by Dr. Fay on May 26, 2014

Photo retrieved from Memorial Day Pictures 2014

Today we remember all those who have died in all our wars, including the Civil War, in which 600,000 soldiers from both sides  (not counting civilian casulaties) died.  It is these who sacrificed all to protect their homeland.  Our national holiday derives its history from local remembrance days celebrated soon after the Civil War, which we have written about here.  A number of states have a separate remembrance date for their Confederate dead, which we discussed here.  All of those have already taken place from January through May of this year except in Virginia, where Confederate Memorial Day is observed concurrently with the national holiday.

All of our fallen heroes left family and friends heartbroken.  Many children grew up without their fathers, and many were never born to young men and women who fought and died for their country.  On Memorial Day today, we remember the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers and by those who loved them.  May the hearts of those who are remembering such a loss today be comforted, especially those whose loss is recent.

Here is the Memorial Day greeting Governor Palin posted on her Facebook page this morning:

Sarah Palin

Enjoy this long, glorious spring weekend, and please never forget the true meaning of Memorial Day. We set this time aside to honor the men and women who for generations have ensured our safety and our ability to spend a day like this in freedom and peace. They are more than just names on gravestones in national cemeteries and battlefields. They were someone’s child, sibling, spouse, parent, and friend. As President Reagan said, on Memorial Day we remember “those who were loved and who, in return, loved their countrymen enough to die for them.”

Thank you, God, for instilling the passion for freedom in these patriots. Thank you for equipping America with the resources to defend the liberty You have given us.

Please remember our active veterans today as well as those who have fallen. Every American should feel outrage at any injustice done to our veterans seeking what was promised them when they volunteered to defend the homeland. They are owed the health care they have already paid for. Friends, be determined to right the wrongs our vets face today.

President Lincoln knew our military heroes as “those who gave the last full measure of devotion” for our freedom; let’s continue Lincoln’s legacy of respect and always keep faith with our veterans. They, more than any, deserve our country’s unending respect and gratitude.

A friend asked me to share the link below – such a worthy cause that costs nothing but your energy. To honor our fallen on Memorial Day, this effort encourages runners and walkers to wear blue and dedicate the miles you put in tomorrow to America’s finest who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. God bless them, their families, and all who honor them!

Gov. Palin: Disgusting treatment of military and red carpet treatment of lawbreakers in the Obama era

Posted by Dr. Fay on May 24, 2014

Posted on Governor Palin’s Facebook page on Friday:

Any Politician Siding with This Tragic Reality is Unfit for Office.

Compliance with these un-American acts in this Obama Era deserves the scorn of citizens; we will do all we can to oust those who follow the Obama/Pelosi/Reid lead on disgusting treatment of our military and red carpet treatment of their law-breaking chosen ones.

Here is the article by Michelle Malkin at that she linked to:

A government that fails to secure its borders is guilty of dereliction of duty. A government that fails to care for our men and women on the frontlines is guilty of malpractice. A government that puts the needs of illegal aliens above U.S. veterans for political gain should be prosecuted for criminal neglect bordering on treason.

Compare, contrast and weep:

In Sacramento, Calif., lawmakers are moving forward with a budget-busting plan to extend government-funded health insurance to at least 1.5 million illegal aliens.

In Los Angeles, federal bureaucrats callously canceled an estimated 40,000 diagnostic tests and treatments for American veterans with cancer and other illnesses to cover up a decade-long backlog.

In New York, doctors report that nearly 40 percent of their patients receiving kidney dialysis are illegal aliens. A survey of nephrologists in 44 states revealed that 65 percent of them treat illegal aliens with kidney disease.

In Memphis, a VA whistleblower reported that his hospital was using contaminated kidney dialysis machines to treat America’s warriors. The same hospital previously had been investigated for chronic overcrowding at its emergency room, leading to six-hour waits or longer. Another watchdog probe found unconscionable delays in processing lab tests at the center. In addition, three patients died under negligent circumstances, and the hospital failed to enforce accountability measures.

In Arizona, illegal aliens incurred health care costs totaling an estimated $700 million in 2009.

In Phoenix, at least 40 veterans died waiting for VA hospitals and clinics to treat them, while government officials created secret waiting lists to cook the books and deceive the public about deadly treatment delays.

At the University of California at Berkeley, UC President Janet Napolitano (former secretary of the Department of Homeland Security) has offered $5 million in financial aid to illegal alien students. Across the country, 16 states offer in-state tuition discounts for illegal aliens: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington. In addition, the Rhode Island Board of Governors for Higher Education, the University of Hawaii Board of Regents and the University of Michigan Board of Regents all approved their own illegal alien tuition benefits.

In 2013, the nation’s most selective colleges and universities had enrolled just 168 American veterans, down from 232 in 2011. Anti-war activists have waged war on military recruitment offices at elite campuses for years. The huge influx of illegal aliens in state universities is shrinking the number of state-subsidized slots for vets.

In 2013, the Obama Department of Homeland Security released 36,007 known, convicted criminal illegal aliens, according to the Center for Immigration Studies. The catch-and-release beneficiaries include thugs convicted of homicide, sexual assault, kidnapping, and thousands of drunk or drugged driving crimes.

The same Department of Homeland Security issued a report in 2009 that identified returning combat veterans as worrisome terrorist and criminal threats to America.

In Washington, Big Business and open-borders lobbyists are redoubling efforts to pass another massive illegal alien amnesty to flood the U.S. job market with low-wage labor.

Across the country, men and women in uniform returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan have higher jobless rates than the civilian population. The unemployment rate for new veterans has spiked to its worst levels, nearing 15 percent. For veterans ages 24 and under, the jobless rate is a whopping 29.1 percent, compared to 17.6 percent nationally for the age group.

A Forbes columnist reported last year that an Air Force veteran was told: “We don’t hire your kind.”

And last December, Democrats led the charge to reduce cost-of-living increases in military pensions — while blocking GOP Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions’ efforts to close a $4.2 billion loophole that allows illegal aliens to collect child tax credits from the IRS, even if they pay no taxes. The fraudulent payments to illegal aliens would have offset the cuts to veterans’ benefits.

Governor Palin followed up with this post, apparently alluding to the White House’s ineffete use of social media instead of definitive action.

White House and concerned celebrities – how about this, too? Thank you.

Palin’s advice to graduates: Be bold in fighting for what is right so you can live vibrantly.

Posted by Dr. Fay on May 22, 2014

Governor Palin posted the photo above and the comment below on her Facebook page last night:

Sarah Palin

Congratulations to graduates of New Hope High School in Huntsville, Alabama! It was an honor for Todd and me to meet all of you.

I told the students that in the tradition of graduation ceremonies, they won’t remember who their commencement speaker was, but I’ll remember them! They truly are “New Hope.” They inspire; they have the potential to secure America as the most exceptional nation on earth.

My advice to them was based on the common sense that made this country great:

* Work so hard.
* Don’t shy away from competition.
* Don’t be afraid to fail – because often a setback, which you may think is the worst thing that could happen to you, can become the BEST thing. When you come through it and learn from it and take responsibility, you can re-prioritize and be strengthened.
* There is no guarantee you’ll never fall on your face. You will. But in that there is learning and growth towards true success.
* Bottom line – WORK! Be bold in fighting for what is right so you can live vibrantly.

New Hope Indians, and all other grads in the Class of 2014, be strong in standing for faith, family, and freedom. I honor you.

Palin to Hannity: Will be working hard this election to get conservatives elected and to help put good candidates on the map

Posted by Dr. Fay on May 22, 2014

Retrieved from iizthatiiz (h/tp US4Palin)

Governor Palin talked to Hannity last night about a variety of topics. First they discussed the double standard displayed by the media in protecting Hillary’s health records but not her own as well as those used in the application of feminism and the use of charges of racism. She said that the left cannot argue the issues, so they engage in semantics and attack comments. Regarding the VA scandal, she said that Obama knew of the problems at the VA six years ago but was not engaged. They talked about the disastrous rollout of Obamacare. Governor Palin said that Obama does not hold people in his adminstration accountable because it takes energy and resources to do so. She mentioned Obama’s laziness, which she said he had admitted to himself and blamed on growing up in Hawaii. When asked what she will be doing in the elections coming up, she said that she would be fighting to protect our Constitution and working hard to get good people elected. She said that she would try to help good candidates who weren’t well known to get on the map.

Hannity has posted the video and transcript here.

This is Governor Palin’s Facebook post in which she discussed the double standard applied by the media concerning Hillary’s health records and her own:

Hillary’s Brain; Hillary’s Brain on Drudge

An article linked today on Drudge:

Hey! Hillary’s brain is off-limits! Leave her health records alone! Democrats are right – scouring records of a female candidate is just politics of personal destruction, and for the media to engage in it would be unfair, unethical, and absolutely UNPRECEDENTED. You can’t probe a woman like that because, well, it’s a war on women!

Bunch of sexist, big meanies engaging in something heretofore unheard of, for shame.

America, you deserve fair and consistent coverage of relevant issues before deciding a Presidential/Vice Presidential ticket, so have faith the agenda-less media will refuse to push whispers and wildly inaccurate information about a partisan politician’s body part. Goodness, no one credible would print lies, continually harass a candidate’s doctor, disrupt local hospital staff, or even offer to pay locals to give “quotes” about her health records to be included in a “research book” by a public university professor (your tax dollars at work?) which the candidate’s attorney will need to respond to.

Thank goodness liberals are consistent in refusing to apply double standards, thanks to their disdain for hypocrisy – so they’ll come through once again! Rest assured these self-designated protectors of what they obviously believe is the “weaker sex” needing protection in the political arena will elevate political discourse. Apparently, Democrats demand their next chosen one’s brain must be absent. Opposition – go there exploring a liberal’s brain and you find nothing; or, find something and you’re just trying to distract voters from the REAL issues.

See, the country’s just swell under the Obama regime (which includes any cabinet member who’d lie and prove ineptitude by shining the boot that’s now on America’s neck). With enormous issues to debate before choosing a Presidential/Vice Presidential ticket, have confidence no mean-spirited salaciousness will be pushed by “real journalists.”

Nope. This just doesn’t happen at this respectable level of American politics.

Just ask me. And Trig.

Palin to New Hope graduates: ‘Go forth and conquer, but do not be afraid to fail’

Posted by Dr. Fay on May 21, 2014

Sarah Palin was guest of honor at New Hope High School's graduation.

Governor Palin spoke at the New Hope High School’s commencement this evening. reports:

NEW HOPE, AL (WAFF) – Former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin visited Huntsville on Wednesday to speak at a graduation ceremony.

Palin’s appearance was paid for by an anonymous donor from the community. No one has released just how much Palin received for showing up. School officials stressed her appearance did not cost the school system.

The students may not have been up on the politics surrounding Palin’s visit – they were fairly young when she was running for Vice President, but quite a few said they were thrilled to have someone of national stature coming to the graduation ceremony for a small-town high school like New Hope.

Sarah Palin’s message to the Class of 2014 was about facing fears, accepting the possibility of failure, and learning from what you experience.

“One piece of advice,” Palin told the seniors at the beginning of her address. “There is no need to remember the speaker tonight… go forth and conquer, but do not be afraid to fail.”

Palin said that things that may seem like failures are things that people can learn from.

“Avoiding failure, shying away from competition so you don’t feel a temporary hurt… that is not success,” she continued. “You have a choice in how to act regarding the less than ideal circumstances. You become bitter, or you become better… God’s got your back.”

“Congratulations, Class of 2014. You bring New Hope to this country,” she concluded.

After her speech, Palin stood among school leaders to shake the hands of each graduate as they accepted their diplomas.

This recent article by Brian Kelly at provides some background on how Governor Palin came to speak at this particular graduation.

palin maples

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – So why is Sarah Palin speaking at New Hope High School’s graduation on Wednesday?

Simple: Cathy Maples asked her.

Maples, a Huntsville businesswoman, has struck up a friendship with Palin over the years. And when a special occasion arrived, Maples turned to Palin.

Camden Brewer, Maples’ grandson, is among the 77 New Hope graduates who will hear Palin speak Wednesday night before what’s expected to be a full Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center. Tickets available to the general public were gobbled up a day after the announcement.

Maples confirmed in an email today to that she asked Palin to speak at the graduation.

“I have met Sarah numerous times and have had dinner with her,” Maples said in the email. “She is the real deal and she is not afraid to speak out about things that are not ‘politically correct.'”

Maples, who is president of R&D Electronics in Brownsboro, bid $63,000 in 2009 to win a dinner with Palin.
