Governor Palin addressed a crowd of over 1100 in Clarkston, Michigan this morning at the “Defending the American Dream” summit sponsored by Americans for Prosperity.
Mark Hornbeck at the Detroit News reports:
Sarah Palin saluted “the good folks of Michigan clinging to your guns and religion” at an anti-tax, anti-liberal rally here today.
“This state is full of good, honest, hard-working Americans,” Palin said at Mt. Zion Church in Clarkston to more than 1,100 attendants at the “Defending the American Dream” rally put on by the Americans for Prosperity.
She said the “transformation” President Barack Obama promised “is not what we bargained for.”
“We don’t like the way the liberal establishment is running things,” she said. “We are proud to call ourselves tea party Americans.”
She drew a standing ovation from her many fans in the cavernous church.
Palin blamed the “lame-stream media” for “twisting the truth” about the tea party movement. She also called Obama’s health care reform “the mother of all unfunded mandates.”

Tea partiers were out in force. Debbie McGillivray, 59, of Midland said her tea party group attended the day-long event in Clarkston “because we don’t like what’s going on in Washington.”
