Master List of Governor Palin’s 2009 Accomplishments

Posted by Ron Devito on November 30, 2009

Updated November 30, 2009 at 1330 (1:30 PM) EST.

Following is a categorized Master List of Governor Palin’s accomplishments for 2009 with links to each accomplishment item and selected photos. This is a lengthy list, yet as of this writing only covers less than seven months. The Master List will be updated as accomplishment items are added, permanently linked in the Reference Blogs box (on Google Blog), and occasionally time/date stamp re-posted (perhaps quarterly).

Blogs are ephemeral in that entries are buried as more are added. Sure, readers can search by key words, but that is no substitute for a categorized index. Through this Master List, readers can see precisely what Governor Palin has achieved in just these nine months alone. If this list were to be printed, it would be over 30 pages.

Note: items also reflect how this blog has matured over time.

Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA)

AGIA will result in a 1,715-mile natural gas pipeline to run from Alaska’s North Slope to a connecting point in Alberta, Canada and end 30 years of pipe dreaming about same. The pipeline will bring Alaskan natural gas to the Lower 48 states. The pipeline is expected to be complete in 2019. It will be North America’s largest infrastructure project. This achievement alone is more than most of us do in an entire lifetime.

Sarah Palin: A Time to Unite

Posted by Ron Devito on October 31, 2009

Following is the complete transcript of Governor Palin’s Facebook note pertaining to the self-removal of Republican Dede Scozzafava from the NY District 23 race:

I want to personally thank Republican Dede Scozzafava for acting so selflessly today in the NY District 23 race. Now it’s time to cross the finish line with Doug Hoffman so that he can get to work for District 23 and the rest of America (Palin, 2009, ¶1).

With Congress poised to overhaul one-sixth of our economy with so-called health care “reform” (which is really a government takeover of health care) and with plans to enact a cap-and-tax bill just as our economy struggles to recover, Doug Hoffman will be a voice for fiscal responsibility and common sense in Washington (Palin, 2009, ¶2).

We need candidates like Doug now more than ever. In these final days of the campaign, it’s vital that Doug continue to receive the enthusiastic support of those who want to bring common sense to Washington. Let’s help make it happen! You can help Doug by visiting his official website today and offering your support: https://www.doughoffmanforcongress.com/donate3.html (Palin, 2009, ¶3)

– Sarah Palin

Commentary:

Just nine days ago, Governor Palin lived by her Reagan Conservative principles, endorsed Doug Hoffman for Congress in New York State’s District 23, and asked her supporters to donate to his campaign. Mr. Hoffman was trailing in the three-way race. Her endorsement triggered a 180-degree shift. Mr. Hoffman surged to the head of the race. He received — minimally — a $116K spike in donations, as Governor Palin’s supporters answered her call. Today, the ACORN-backed RINO, Dede Scozzafava removed herself from the race entirely. Kudos to her for standing up and doing the right thing.

This is a major accomplishment on several grounds. First, it is living proof that the Republican Party will succeed if it returns to Reagan Conservative principles, but will continue to be a fractured and failed party by being “Democratic Lite,” “moderate,” or “walking across the aisle.” Given the choice between a fake liberal and a real one, most people will go with the real one. At least they know what they are getting.

For Governor Palin, this is an accomplishment on the scale of securing Senator Saxby Chambliss’ victory nearly 11 months ago. This accomplishment demonstrates that Governor Palin has clout and is a force to be reckoned with. She is a textbook Transformational Leader.

From a feminist perspective, this accomplishment is testament to her power as woman. Though Mr. Hoffman is most decidedly a man, it was HER endorsement that brought victory within reach. Being Governor Palin’s accomplishment, it means that another glass ceiling was felled by her sonic boom.

This day, Saturday, October 31, 2009 is also historical for Governor Palin, for today, the purging and cleansing of the Republican Party has begun — under her direction. She is consolidating her power. What is all the more brilliant? She did it with nothing more than a Facebook posting.

Now the next step is for Mr. Hoffman to finish the job and win this race.

Supporting Gov. Palin Means Respect, Trust, Loyalty

Posted by Ron Devito on October 22, 2009

I have seen comments from numerous supporters of Governor Palin’s expressing “disappointment” for various reasons in her decision to appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Let’s make this very simple:

  • Governor Palin has 17 years of executive and political experience, going on 18.
  • Governor Palin is an astute businesswoman as well as a stateswoman (to call her a “politician” to me is a gross insult). Going Rogue is her product. Governor Palin knows how and where to market her products.
  • Governor Palin has a journalism degree. She was a sportscaster and was part of the media.
  • Governor Palin has borne the complete brunt of a full court hostile press, and not merely survived but thrived, thanks largely to her very strong objective ego. In a perverse way, her enemies did her a huge favor, for she now has media experience that millions of dollars in consultations and simulation cannot buy. Governor Palin is more than ready for any media attack.
  • As Governor, Sarah Palin hired Bill McAllister, an excellent communications director who served her well. Both Meg Stapleton and Pam Pryor handle Governor Palin’s media through SarahPAC, and as delineated in an article this morning, Ms. Pryor has more than two decades of media and communications experience.
  • Sometimes, a leader’s decision might not appear to make sense prima facie. Governor Palin has her reasons — reasons that we are not privy to and may never be. We are not in her inner sanctum. Part of loving and supporting her is trusting and respecting her decisions as a leader, understanding that these unknown reasons may exist.

What the entire foregoing list distills to is this: Governor Palin — not any supporter of hers — decides who she will interview with, where, how, when, why, and with what she will conduct said interview.

In this relationship, Governor Palin is the leader. We are her supporters. When we sign on to support any leader, we owe that leader our loyalty, trust and respect. The leader in turn must earn our loyalty, trust, and respect, and this is done by establishing a track record of accomplishments, simultaneously avoiding association with anything that would bring them disgrace. Governor Palin has fulfilled her end of this relationship far above and beyond.

The Limit of Respect, Trust and Loyalty

This is not to suggest that Governor Palin be deified, not held accountable for her actions, or blindly supported no matter what. Cults of personality are very dangerous and toxic. We don’t want to establish one around Governor Palin and she certainly would not approve of such a thing. Even “absolute” loyalty, trust, and respect have a limit, which is, they must be earned. If a leader commits a highly unethical or criminal act, an act of grave moral turpitude, or displays egregiously bad judgment, that leader would be no longer deserving of support. My position is — that Governor Palin never came anywhere near that limit with her decision to market her book on Oprah’s show.

Why Her Appearance on Oprah is Worthy of our Support

The Oprah Winfrey show is a well-established venue for authors to market their books — the purpose of Governor Palin’s appearance there. For that reason, I find it patently absurd to question her judgment in appearing on this show; and ludicrous to disavow and deny her support on that basis.

For those of you who do not watch Oprah, because you don’t like her — If you love and support Governor Palin, on November 16, watching or DVR’ing the one episode of Oprah is the right thing to do. It is right, because we want Governor Palin and her product to succeed. You’re not doing it for Oprah. You’re doing it for Governor Palin. Boycotting this episode because you don’t like Oprah is a self-defeating act for any person who considers themselves a supporter of Governor Palin’s, in my opinion.

Yes, Oprah could be considered an enemy of Governor Palin’s by virtue of her rather enthusiastic support of Obama. We also have been clamoring for Governor Palin to run for President in 2012, yes? We want her to deal with allies and enemies — people like Ahmadinejad, Putin, the Castro Bros., Chavez, and so forth. She cannot go the rest of her life just interviewing on shows she is comfortable with. “A ship in a harbor is safe. That’s not what ships are built for.”

Governor Palin picked Oprah’s show for what I believe are very good reasons worthy of delineation:

  1. Governor Palin has her audience already on Hannity, Greta, Beck, etc. We already bought her book by pre-order! She doesn’t need to go promote her book to people who already bought it. That is preaching to the choir and a complete waste of an interview.
  2. Oprah’s show is the venue for authors to market their books. Governor Palin is marketing a book.
  3. Governor Palin will win minds and hearts on Oprah — she will gain supporters, because she will be placing herself in a new venue, in a new market. And this is a good test market for her: center-left, feminists — Reagan Democrats — women — lots of women — for women are Oprah’s main audience.
  4. Governor Palin walked into Saturday Night Live (SNL) a year and three days ago with Tina Fey as an enemy and walked out with her as a friend. Even Alec Baldwin softened his heart towards her, and SNL enjoyed the best ratings they had in 30 years. This is what you call a win-win.

Supporting Governor Palin does not just mean posting “I love you Sarah” or something equally emotionally charged on her Facebook wall, and where ever else we might post it. Absent respect, trust, or loyalty, expressed love is nothing more than meaningless words.

“Palin isn’t Done Yet”

Posted by Ron Devito on July 10, 2009

I am a supporter of Gov. Palin from Staten Island, N.Y., and blog exclusively about her accomplishments, an activity I find particularly uplifting and inspirational. For anyone who harbors doubts about Gov. Palin’s service, as a point of comparison, I have lived in New York for all of my 40 years. In this period, we have had seven governors dating back to six years before Gov. Palin was born. All seven of them combined — from both parties — have not accomplished anywhere near what Sarah Palin has in the seven months that have passed for 2009 alone. Our current governor is routinely lambasted for being “hapless” and having no leadership skills whatsoever. His predecessor’s claim to fame is being “Client No. 9” of a prostitution ring. His Republican predecessor subjected our state to 11 solid years of corruption, which was preceded by 11 years of corruption from a Democrat. I can continue back to 1959, but suffice it say not one of our seven governors have accomplished anything noteworthy – in 50 years (Devito, 2009, ¶1).

I am compiling a master list of Gov. Palin’s 2009 accomplishments — a project that has taken several hours and is nowhere near finished. I had to build a team of authors on my blog just to cover her accomplishments. There are simply too many in volume, size, scale and scope to be covered by one person. Sarah Palin accomplished every goal set forth when she campaigned to be your state’s governor. Her staff remains and is on the same page with her. She is a textbook transformational leader — the type studied in MBA courses. She performed her service with honor, grace and to the highest of standards (Devito, 2009, ¶2).

Free of gubernatorial limitations and unbound from the shackles of frivolous ethics complaints, Gov. Palin can and will accomplish even more for Alaska and for our nation. Everything she has done thus far will pale in (pun intended) comparison to what she is about to do (Devito, 2009, ¶3).
