World Premier For “The Undefeated” Set For Tuesday June 28 In Pella, Iowa

Posted by Gary P Jackson on June 24, 2011

By Gary P Jackson

Victory Film’s hot new movie The Undefeated will make it’s world premier debut in Pella, Iowa on Tuesday at the historic 111 year-old Pella Opera House.

The Undefeated includes leading prominent political commentators like Mark Levin, Tammy Bruce and Andrew Breitbart as well as conservative activists Kate Obenshein, Sonnie Johnson and Jamie Radtke.

Among other things, the film features interviews with Alaskan civil servants, elected officials and advisors who were involved in Alaskan politics during Governor Palin’s time in office.

Here’s the official news release from Victory Film Group and ARC Entertainment:

ARC ENTERTAINMENT & VICTORY FILMS TO PRESENT THE WORLD PREMIER OF THE UNDEFEATED AT PELLA OPERA HOUSE IN PELLA, IOWA.

Documentary about Gov. Sarah Palin will be shown at 111-year-old historic Midwestern landmark

SANTA MONICA – Victory Film Group (www.victoryfilmgroup.com) and ARC Entertainment announced today the premier of The Undefeated at the Pella Opera House in Pella, Iowa on Tuesday June 28, at 5 p.m. Central.

The Undefeated, which was written and directed by Stephen K. Bannon and produced by Bannon and Victory Film Group co-founder Glenn Bracken Evans and Dan Fleuette, chronicles Sarah Palin’s rise from obscurity to national prominence. ARC Entertainment is the film’s worldwide distributor.

The community of Pella encapsulates what Iowa and the Heartland are all about. Steve Bannon certainly found a location that has the ‘Iowa-ness’ he was searching for,” stated Craig Robinson, editor-in-chief of TheIowaRepublican.com.

Built in 1900, the Pella Opera House is presently a non-profit founded by area leaders committed to bringing the finest performances to the venue. During the preceding 111 years, the Pella Opera House building has served many functions including headquarters for the Women’s Federated Club, as well as showing the country’s first silent movies at the beginning of the motion picture industry.

Larry Peterson, Chairman of the Pella Opera House stated, “The building is the heart and center of the hard-working family-oriented people in our community. For over 100 years it has served as a symbol that has exemplified American values and continuation of our city’s Dutch heritage.

Mr. Peterson continued, “The Pella Opera House is excited to be selected as the venue for the premier showing of the film about Governor Sarah Palin. As the premier performance center for the region, the Pella Opera House has traditionally followed its mission of presenting quality entertainment. From children’s theater performances, holiday and Branson-style variety shows to cutting edge concerts and musical events, the patrons of the Pella Opera House consistently praise the Opera House for its creative presentation and support of the values that are important to so many people of this region.

The Undefeated features leading prominent political commentators Mark Levin, Tammy Bruce and Andrew Breitbart as well as conservative activists Kate Obenshein, Sonnie Johnson and Jamie Radtke. Additionally, the film features interviews with Alaskan civil servants, elected officials and advisors who were involved in Alaskan politics during Governor Palin’s tenure.

The film begins its national rollout exclusively in AMC Theatres in 10 cities the week of July 15th. The film will debut in Dallas, Denver, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Atlanta, Orange County, Phoenix, Houston, Indianapolis, and Kansas City, with plans to take it nationwide in additional markets thereafter.

Scott Conroy of RealClearPolitics called the film a “sweeping epic;” Jan Crawford of CBS News said, “Sarah Palin is either running for President or she should be: That’s the takeaway from ‘The Undefeated,’ a new movie about Palin’s life and leadership set to hit theaters next month;” Michael Falcone of ABC News noted, “The film’s re-telling of her accomplishments as mayor of Wasilla and Governor of Alaska portrays her as a courageous and unconventional figure willing to take on the political establishment — even in those early years. … She eschews the ‘smoke filled rooms’ of deal-making and comes across as a fighter for the people;” and Matt Lewis of the Daily Caller wrote, “If enough people see the film it could be a real game-changer for Palin’s presidential chances.”

Trevor Drinkwater, CEO of ARC Entertainment, added, “We are pleased to present this highly anticipated controversial film and couldn’t imagine a more appropriate setting that captures the spirit and messaging of the film.”

Co-founder of Victory Film Group Glenn Bracken Evans stated, “We are very grateful to the city of Pella and the Opera House for providing the perfect venue for our film.

Ross Review: ‘The Undefeated’ is for You

Posted by Adrienne Ross on June 22, 2011

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

I applaud Stephen Bannon for doing the hard research, investing his hard-earned money, and revealing the hard facts that resulted in The Undefeated. His efforts allow us, the viewers, to take a pilgrimage with him into Governor Palin’s successful career in politics. I applaud him, yes.

However, I will applaud more vehemently those who have the guts to see the documentary, especially those who admit they only know her through the media, those who have dismissed her as both undignified and unqualified to hold any meaningful office, and those who have been more comfortable lambasting her than learning about her. I will applaud them for being men and women enough to choose truth over childish narratives that have become the meat and drink of many a critic.

Tonight, I got a closer look into the career of Governor Palin as I was honored to preview this movie that has been heralded as a game-changer. Some have claimed that while The Undefeated will further endear her to her supporters, it will do nothing to change the minds of those not in her corner. I beg to differ. Having seen the documentary, I agree with the assessment of the people who have said this is a film for those who are on the fence. However, I’ll take it even further and say it’s also a film for those who heretofore have been dead-set against her. Disagree that a two-hour film can so drastically impact a person? Well then, I submit the same challenge Lisa Mei Norton did in her Big Hollywood article: I dare you to go see it. Anyone with a shred of decency, even just one honest bone in his body, wants truth, not propaganda. The Undefeated provides the truth about Governor Palin’s record that has purposely been hidden, distorted, or ignored.

The film leaves no doubt as to Governor Palin’s well-documented accomplishments. It reveals her as one of the “ordinary, hardworking people.” It shows that with a servant’s heart, a steel spine, and a sense of purpose, everyone can make a difference–even a hockey mom who simply loved her state more than she loved her own comfort, who was willing to take on the Corrupt Bastards Club, the establishment, and the unbelievers to battle for free enterprise, energy, and ethics. The film highlights the mayor who, through a commitment to developing infrastructure, made Wasilla into a booming business town; “the unpolitician” who, as governor, confronted and defeated the politics of big oil, took a red pen to the budget, and forward-funded public education; and the V.P. candidate whose love for America was only a reflection of her love for Alaska.

Through footage of her swearing-in ceremony in Fairbanks, we see the new governor upholding the same values she does today. It’s clear that she has not morphed into another creature now that she’s on the national stage. No, she promised her constituents all those years ago to fight on the side of competition, ethics in “your” government, and fiscal restraint for the benefit of our children’s future. She insisted then, as she does today, that more government isn’t the answer.

We see a governor hard at work with AOGCC, ACES, and AGIA. We see her doing what no one else had been able to do for 30 years in securing the TransCanada Alaska deal, taking this important resource development “from pipe dream to pipeline.”

The Undefeated doesn’t hold back the raw, vile attacks against Governor Palin, either. It places front and center the death wishes, the vulgar, sexually explicit language, and the Alinsky tactics used against her to derail her effectiveness as governor upon her return from the 2008 election campaign. It leaves no doubt why she resigned and why it was the only right thing that she could do, although it meant sacrificially handing over a job she loved. The unfounded, frivolous ethics complaints, although dismissed, were both paralyzing and bankrupting Alaska, so she stepped aside and allowed Sean Parnell to take over. She had always done what was best for Alaska. This was no different.

Governor Palin’s stellar record, accomplishments, and expertise reveal a public figure who earned unparalleled approval ratings, worked tirelessly for the people, and made history in the process. The film shows someone who has done much already, yet has too much more to give to pack it in now. She is, without question, prepared to be President, and The Undefeated gives us the sense that she may just be heading in that direction, despite the attacks against her character and her record.

The Undefeated will further inspire the millions of Americans who were already, at the very least, acquainted with her record. However, it is a must-see for those who know that a person’s record is as tied as anything else to the person herself and therefore necessitates an honest, unbiased evaluation. It is mandatory viewing for those who want to make informed, intelligent decisions about the future of our nation and those who seek to lead it. Furthermore, it beckons those who simply care about truth and aren’t afraid to be confronted with it. In other words, my message to America is this: whether, when you consider Governor Palin, you identify as a supporter, an undecided, or even a self-proclaimed hater, this film is for you. Have the courage to watch it with an open mind, and be bold enough to take someone with you; the undeniable, unfiltered, and undefeated truth will take care of the rest.

The John Ziegler We Know

Posted by joshpainter on June 21, 2011

– by Josh Painter
*

Serial self-promoter John Ziegler is out with another Daily Caller BS piece claiming that no one had refudiated his article from last week. According to the naysayer, that means his predictions are solid gold or something. Obviously, Ziegler hasn’t been paying attention, because we’ve seen several good retorts to his arguments. Here are some excerpts from a lengthy riposte by Abie Rubin at The Thinking Voter:

John Ziegler’s current article did not come as a total shock to me because I saw something amiss in his article last week on the DC in which he wrote about “The Undefeated.” He applauded the new movie but claimed he can’t possibly see it accomplishing anything for Palin on the political scene. What caught my eye was the following sentence in the beginning of the article when he was still full of praise.

“In fact, I had suggested a similar concept to the Palins back in late 2009.”

Oh yeah? Then why did he suggest a similar concept less than two years ago if [he’s] so skeptical now? Additionally, who said it won’t be heavily advertised? Steven K. Bannon invested lots of money in this project and has tons of experience in this field, and those that have already gotten to see it have doubled over backwards in awe over the magnificent job he’s done. I feel bad for Ziegler that his terrific documentary hasn’t received more attention; however the timing of the current movie is perfect, the buzz surrounding it is deafening, and it is therefore promising to attract tons of viewers.

Ziegler wrote on 4/25/11 in the DC in regard to the E! Network documentary on Palin in which he participated but had barely received any attention because Trump had taken center stage at that time;

“…should Palin decide to run for president (I still think it is 60/40 that she will), this show targets the exact demographic with whom she will need to get a second chance in order to have a legitimate shot at beating President Obama: women who are not news junkies.”

So Ziegler believed two years ago, as well as less than two months ago, that with a compelling widely viewed documentary on Palin, many with unfavorable opinions or no opinion on her will recognize the truth about Sarah and support her. However, less than two months later, he made a complete about face.

Poll Insider also answered Ziegler last week, which prompted a response from the self-absorbed Palin-doubter, which Poll Insider promptly answered. More excerpts:

“This is John Ziegler. Could you please explain to me where you got the insane idea that I wrote the article you are responding to for money? I made it clear at the new website that I was not paid and since it would be great for my movie, there is probbaly not a person on the planet with a greater incentive to promote an Obama/Palin matchup than me. Do you even care about the facts?”

First, note that Ziegler doesn’t respond to anything relating to my main argument, only at some assertion that I claim he only wrote the article for money (possibly by being paid by The Daily Caller) when I clearly stated “I’m not sure what Ziegler’s beef is – Money, Publicity, Palin ignored him…” First, I never suggested that he was paid by The Daily Caller. Second, it’s kind of silly for Ziegler to suggest the move wasn’t intended to pick up at least some sales because, most obviously, the website of “thesarahpaliniknow.com” has links to purchase Media Malpractice by John Ziegler; The Path to 9/11 by John Ziegler; The Death of Free Speech by John Ziegler. If you are mainly just a truth teller, why post links for people to buy your stuff on a newly created website that you know is about to get a huge spike in hits? And according to Alexa.com, your website johnziegler.com went from insignificant to a decent boom (with thesarahpaliniknow.com). Plus, by keeping your toe half-in and half-out of the water, I could see why many people would be interested in Media Malpractice even today. I thought it was fantastic and I have quoted it several times on this website. (And I still think Media Malpractice is relevant today and worth a watch, plus how moronic are those Obamavoters?)

Second, just because you release a pre-emptive response to what you know you will be criticized for, it doesn’t mean that those criticisms are not true, or that even your pre-emptive responses are true.

John Nolte has also shot down Ziegler’s argument that Gov. Palin is not electable here, and John Hawkins described Ziegler’s betrayal as “a no-class move from a flake who probably wasn’t motivated by anything more than a desire to keep his name in the news” here. Dan Riehl noted Ziegler’s curious timing here. Cornell Law School Associate Clinical Professor William A. Jacobson’s rebuttal (here) of Ziegler is, we believe, definitive.

The bottom line is that Ziegler’s long-winded knife-turning on Sarah Palin offers no “proof” to begin with, so his claim that his rant hasn’t been “disproven” is based on a fallacy. How can one disprove that which has not been proven? The illogical never fail to demand that the logical prove the wrong. But with Ziegler, it was never about proof or logic. As always, it’s all about him.

“The Undefeated” Review: I Dare You to Go See it

Posted by Adrienne Ross on June 18, 2011

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

Raving reviews of The Undefeated continue to pour in. The Stephen Bannon film about Governor Palin’s career is shedding light on the truth about her record and allowing people to see her for who she truly is rather than who the media is determined to make her out to be.

Lisa Mei Norton published the following review at Big Hollywood:

Sarah Palin IS The Undefeated.

By the time you finish watching this superbly scripted and produced two-hour documentary about the former Alaskan Governor, if you don’t come to that conclusion, you were either asleep during the film or you still believe that “Community Organizer” trumps true executive experience and success as qualification to serve as America’s Commander-In-Chief.

Dim the house lights…

It is 2008 and Republican Presidential candidate John McCain introduces Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate to a crowd of thousands of enthusiastic supporters. The beautiful, poised, confident Governor takes the stage at the Republican National Convention to thunderous applause and delivers an electrifying speech with a level of charisma, wit, and passion not seen since Ronald Reagan, that catapulted this relatively unknown Alaskan Governor onto the National political stage making her almost instantly and simultaneously one of the most revered and one of the most reviled politicians in recent memory.

In stark contrast, the film then cuts over to a dramatic 3-minute montage of pure, unadulterated hatred from the left for this VP candidate which history will record as one of the most vicious campaigns to annihilate a public figure. It was vulgar. It was brutal. It was violent. It was main stream. It was textbook Alinsky. And yet, she is still standing…undefeated.

“Civility” from the left…

The attacks from the liberal pundits, journalists, talk show hosts, celebrities and patrons of social networking sites and the blogosphere were completely abhorrent and offensive. So much so that the film’s writer/director, Stephen Bannon, told us at the private screening of the rough cut of the film, he would have to do a lot of creative editing to mask some of the more vulgar and violent footage to get the film to a PG-13 rating for National distribution, yet still convey the same astonishing level of the left’s pathological hatred for Palin. If you have even an ounce of human decency or compassion, viewing this brief sampling of the almost maniacal attacks on Sarah Palin should make your blood boil. What has she ever done to deserve this? Does her mere existence threaten people so much they feel she must be destroyed completely before they are satisfied?

Their latest display of depravity or desperation as it were, with the release of over 24,000 of her private emails from her tenure as Alaska’s Governor, has even drawn criticism from those who would never vote for Palin). The timing couldn’t be better, though, as we are finding (much to the dismay of the corrupt MSM) that she was every bit the dedicated, hard-working Governor depicted in Bannon’s documentary.

But then we see the words from Matthew 7: 17-20 appear on the screen almost as if to calm our souls and bring all of this into perspective. We are reminded with this passage that this truly is a spiritual battle between good and evil…right from wrong. Not just for Governor Palin, but for all of us…for our Nation.

“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” ~ Matthew 7:20

By the end of this film, you will know who Sarah Palin really is.

[…]

This is a must-see film that “Palinistas” will absolutely love and will allow Palin skeptics to see what the media has so successfully isolated — hidden in plain sight. I dare you to go see it.

Discussing Governor Palin; Patrick’s World USA Interview

Posted by Adrienne Ross on June 16, 2011

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

Last night, I was interviewed about Governor Palin on Patrick’s World USA Blog Talk Radio Show. Patrick is a great host and made sure he covered several important topics in just 30 minutes of airtime. We discussed the frenzy over Governor Palin’s emails which are serving only to show what a dedicated governor she was; Frank Bailey’s anti-Palin book, a complete flop, The Undefeated, the soon-coming film about Governor Palin’s stellar career in public service; the mainstream media’s obsession with President Obama and commitment to his re-election; and the 2012 race for the presidency which is starting to take off.

I come in at the 11:23 mark. Enjoy:

The Undefeated: A Review

Posted by Tami Nantz on June 15, 2011

Few things ignite passion more quickly than the mere mention of Governor Sarah Palin’s name, especially when it comes to the liberal left. That’s why I think Steven K. Bannon’s new documentary The Undefeated, set to release later this month in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, is going to be an enormous success. It tells the unvarnished truth about a working class wife and mother who rose to political prominence through sheer determination, guts, and a lot of hard work.

At a screening held on Thursday in Arlington, VA, Bannon said he originally turned down a request by Palin aides Rebecca Mansour and Tim Crawford to film a series of videos for the Governor. After witnessing the energy Sarah brought to the crowds at the first national tea party event in Nashville, Bannon began to do his homework and became convinced that Sarah was not the marginal, political lightweight the mainstream media has portrayed.

Like Fire From the Heartland, Bannon’s last documentary about the rise of conservative women in American politics, the style of The Undefeated features interviews from a variety of sources, including conservative powerhouses Mark Levin and Andrew Breitbart. News clips, footage from the campaign trail, and never-before-seen videos of the Heath and Palin families, along with gorgeous panoramic views of an untamed Alaskan wilderness, are just a few things one can expect when watching The Undefeated.

The beginning of the yet unrated two-hour documentary confronts the viewer with the vile, often explicit language used by Hollywood and political leftist elites when they discuss Sarah Palin. The film is divided into three acts: Act 1 gives a glimpse of a young Sarah and her early involvement in politics on the local and state level. Act 2 takes an extremely detailed look at the multitude of accomplishments Sarah made in the short eighteen months she served as Governor of Alaska, enjoying the highest approval rating of any sitting Governor in history. Act 3 begins where most Americans were first introduced to Sarah Palin–August 2008, when it was announced that she would join Senator John McCain as his Vice Presidential running mate.

The Undefeated, with it’s Philip Glass style sound track, has a consistent theme throughout–it portrays a woman of deep courage and conviction, a politician with an intense focus and dedication to the people she’s called to serve. The viewer will get to know a very different Sarah as he takes a journey through her political life, and along the way, I think he’ll grow to love her as much as we do.

**On June 10th, Victory Film Group announced that The Undefeated will play exclusively at select AMC Theatres beginning July 15th. Read more… If you’d like to have The Undefeated shown at a theater near you, you may vote at this link.

Palin: “The Undefeated” Producer Stephen Bannon’s Bloggers Briefing

Posted by Jackie Siciliano on June 7, 2011

The Heritage Foundation hosted a bloggers briefing earlier today with Stephen Bannon, producer of the movie “The Undefeated”.  You may recall that this blog has published two previous posts promoting this epic film here and here. While Mr. Bannon made many statements about the film, I believe the most memorable statement is when he attempts to describe Sarah Palin and says “she is a woman of unique substance”.  Indeed she is Mr. Bannon, indeed she is.

CBS and Others Review “The Undefeated”

Posted by Adrienne Ross on June 6, 2011

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

The Undefeated, the film about Governor Palin, is scheduled to premiere this month. Some people have already had the opportunity to see a screening, and reviews have been quite positive. Even CBS praises the film as one that highlights the fact that Governor Palin is qualified to be President of the United States.

Jan Crawford writes:

Sarah Palin is either running for President or she should be: That’s the takeaway from “The Undefeated,” a new movie about Palin’s life and leadership set to hit theaters next month.

Billed as a documentary – though told in a fast-paced and dramatic style – the two-hour movie is an unabashed defense of the former Alaska governor that leaves the distinct impression her presidential candidacy not only is possible, but inevitable.

Stephen Bannon, the movie’s creator, took on the project after Palin’s aides approached him late last year about making a series of videos on Palin. He proposed a movie instead, and bankrolled it himself. The final product, which I saw last week in a screening for a few reporters, gives Palin the introduction she never really had when the Hockey mom from Wasilla became John McCain’s running mate in 2008.

By tracing her political rise in Alaska, her battles with Big Oil and the Republican establishment, and her accomplishments as governor, the movie argues one overriding point: Sarah Palin is a seasoned executive who is more than qualified to be President.

It also adds context to her bus tour of historic sites and patriotic events, which she says she undertook to remind people about the principles America was founded on and the importance of the Constitution. Critics have questioned whether the tour is, in fact, just a big publicity stunt, but “The Undefeated” shows video of a young Palin echoing some of those same themes 20 years ago, when she was a rookie on the stump campaigning for office.

That’s one of the things I found most striking about the movie. Since Palin burst on the national scene in 2008, critics have portrayed her as an unformed and uninformed political thinker, suggesting someone just crammed her head with these ideas and unleashed her on America.

But “The Undefeated” goes a long way towards debunking that tired narrative. It shows an unbroken line in her thinking over the past two decades. The things she’s saying on her bus tour about freedom, free markets, fiscal responsibility and the proper role of government are the same things she’s been saying ever since she entered into politics.

[…]

Regardless of where you come down, though, here’s one thing both sides should agree on: It certainly looks like Palin is running for President. As she says in a speech in the movie’s very last scene: “Mr. President, game on.”

But will she?

Jedediah Bila: Palin record takes center stage in ‘The Undefeated’

Posted by joshpainter on June 5, 2011

– by Josh Painter
*
Reviewing “The Undefeated” in her latest Daily Caller column, Jedediah Bila says Stephen Bannon’s documentary reveals Sarah Palin to be that rare public servant who practices what she preaches:

Via a montage of media criticism of Palin from the mouths of Matt Damon, Bill Maher, David Letterman, Howard Stern, Ed Koch, Sharon Osbourne, and others, Bannon quickly establishes a contrast between the fictional character of Palin that has been presented by the media and the real-life woman who shook up business as usual through policies grounded in free-market principles and putting government back on the side of the people.

A good portion of “The Undefeated” focuses on setting the record straight on Palin’s record, featuring commentary from key players in Alaska such as former Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton, Palin attorney Tom Van Flein, former Wasilla Deputy Mayor Judy Patrick, former state Sen. Gene Therriault, former pipeline adviser Marty Rutherford, and others. Via a blend of their commentary and segments plucked from Sarah Palin’s audio book of Going Rogue, viewers experience an up-close look at Palin’s years of public service, beginning with her focus on fiscal responsibility, infrastructure development, and tax reductions as city council member and mayor.

Bannon illuminates some of Palin’s major policy achievements as governor, including the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA), Alaska’s Clear and Equitable Share (ACES), a strong ethics reform bill, and seeing to it that drilling began at Pt. Thomson after over 25 years of ExxonMobil sitting on its contracts without action. Most importantly, Bannon links it all together through shared themes — a distaste for closed-door negotiations, a belief in the power of free-market competition to yield the best results, and a desire to uphold the Alaska Constitution and to protect the rights and interests of hard-working Alaskans.

“The Undefeated” also chronicles Palin’s entry onto the national stage via the Republican National Convention, the McCain/Palin campaign, and beyond. Bannon intersperses segments of Palin’s speeches with commentary from Mark R. Levin, Tammy Bruce, Kate Obenshain, Andrew Breitbart, and other charismatic contributors. Levin provides fantastic parallels between the TEA Party movement and the Reagan Revolution, as well as highlights the similar manner in which many in the GOP establishment have gone after both Reagan and Palin. Tammy Bruce pulls no punches in presenting Palin as a woman led by authenticity of purpose and commitment to principle right from the start.

“The Undefeated,” focused as it is on Sarah Palin’s accomplishments, shows the former governor to be competent, ambitious, and principled. here is a woman who got into politics, Jedediah Bila says, “for the right reasons and has consistently cut through the nonsense to get things done.” The review concludes that his film is a portrait of an everyday American who has never been afraid to shake up the establishment in order to do what she believes is right.
