Tucker Carlson “Blames” Charlie Sheen for his Sexist Behavior: A Post by Conservative Girl with a Voice

Posted by conservativegirlwithavoice on March 1, 2011

My good friend and co-host, Camille Friend, over at The Design Conservative wrote an excellent piece last night, bringing to my attention a recent comment Political Pundit and Daily Caller Founder Tucker Carlson tweeted (and later permanently deleted). In this tweet, Mr. Carlson took it upon himself to call former Alaska Governor, author and Political Contributor Sarah Palin a “MILF” or in his exact words a “milfistan.”  This is a term that not only serves to degrade and demean the female sex, but shows a total lack of respect and common human decency. I am not about to go into detail about the meaning of this word, if it can even be called that, so you will have to take my word for it or go surf the web. For those of you out there who have never heard of this term, I am sure you will immediately realize the stupidity Mr. Carlson illustrated in describing Sarah this way.

We hear many members of the far left speak this way about female candidates like Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann and political contributors like Michelle Malkin, but to hear an uncouth statement like this come from a so-called conservative cuts the wound even deeper. In making comments like this, he has basically offended women across the country regardless of political ideology.  This type of disgusting talk has unfortunately become the norm in today’s political climate.

Individuals like Carlson, who get paid for their political commentary, have forgotten that in order to be taken seriously, you have to remain respectful and hold at least some form of a moral code to which you live your life.  Perhaps my friend, Camille, put it best:

If you *must* use locker room language, save it for the locker room.  Don’t display your inner-most Neanderthal to your 23,000+ Twitter followers – some of whom will take the opportunity to offer their own crass retort.  Surely, we can expect more from you, Mr. Carlson – can’t we?

I have always respected Mr. Carlson because he has done a lot to advance the conservative movement with his commentary and writings. With this said, I have lost a lot of respect for this man given his most recent comments. I would hope that Mr. Carlson, the man, would apologize or at least restrain himself from making comments like this again, but it seems as if this is not going to happen anytime soon given his most recent tweet posted moments ago:

Apparently Charlie Sheen got control of my Twitter account last night while I was at dinner. Apologies for his behavior.

Mr. Carlson, wise up. Joking around and blaming Charlie Sheen for your ridiculous tweet is about as ridiculous as blaming President George W. Bush for the rain we had this past weekend here in my home state of California. Not cool, Mr. Carlson, not cool….

David Letterman Is Finding Out That Statutory Rape Is No Joke

David Letterman Is Finding Out That Statutory Rape Is No Joke

Outrage continues over David Letterman’s misogynist jokes about Sarah Palin and her 14-year-old daughter Willow. The late-night comedian tried to backpedal with a statement that he mistook Willow for her 18-year-old sister Bristol. No one is buying that – least of all, Sarah Palin. Even if he had been referring to Bristol, the jokes would still have been inappropriate and distasteful.

It is a well-known fact that David Letterman despises Sarah Palin, and this is not his first attack on the Palin family. However, this time he has crossed the line. And his despicable comments may well have unleashed a sleeping giant in the moral conscience of this nation.

Among those who have spoken out against David Letterman’s perverted verbal attack on Sarah Palin’s underage daughter is former running mate John McCain, who said, “I hope that remarks like that are out of bounds. She is a 14-year-old girl and to be referred to in that fashion is highly inappropriate.” He also told Reuters, “I don’t understand why Letterman would say that about a young woman. (The Palins) deserve some kind of protection from being the butt of late-night hosts.”

RNC Chairman Michael Steele suggested a boycott of Letterman’s television show. In a statement to The Hill, Steele said, “Letterman’s joke about Sarah and Todd Palin’s daughter was thoughtless and tacky. I saw his explanation for the joke, but sometimes the easiest thing to do is simply say ‘I’m sorry.’

In a letter to CBS CEOLes Moonves, New York State Assemblyman Brian Kolb called for the firing of David Letterman. In a subsequent written statement, Kolb said, “As the proud father of a daughter, and as a husband, I wanted Mr. Moonves to hear from me directly about Mr. Letterman’s disparaging remarks….Firing Mr. Letterman would send a clear message that CBS will not tolerate any of its employees — even an established media figure like Mr. Letterman — making demeaning and degrading comments about women.”

Michelle Malkin wrote David Letterman a letter of her own and started out with this question, “Will you teach your son to talk about women and girls the way you talk about Sarah Palin and her daughters.

Greta van Susteren, who was also appalled by Letterman’s remarks, posted the video of Sarah Palin’s remarks to Matt Bauer on the Today Show on GretaWire. She opened a thread for bloggers to comment on Letterman’s remarks and has posted an online poll, where, at last count, 79 % of respondents have recommended firing David Letterman.

Wendy Wright, president of the women’s advocacy group, Concerned Women for America, said this to FOXnews.com: “There’s a saying that out of the heart, the mouth speaks, and Letterman’s statement reveals a pretty ugly reflection of who Letterman may be.”

In a statement on their website, the National Organization of Women (NRO) said, “The sexualization of girls and women in the media is reaching new lows these days — it is exploitative and has a negative effect on how all women and girls are perceived and how they view themselves. Letterman also joked about what he called Palin’s “slutty flight attendant look” — yet another example of how the media love to focus on a woman politician’s appearance, especially as it relates to her sexual appeal to men.”

Team Sarah is urging its members to contact CBS about the Letterman remarks and has provided a link to the online feedback form for CBS: http://www.cbs.com/info/user_services/fb_global_form.php and a link for filing a formal complaint with the FCC: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm.

HillBuzz had this to say: “… if we keep up the pressure on Letterman’s advertisers and succeed in getting three big names like The Olive Garden, MARS Candy, and Kelloggs to drop sponsorhip of the Late Show, that we can seriously decrease the prices CBS is able to charge for advertising on his show, making Letterman much, much less of a cash cow for the network.”

Conservative bloggers across the Internet are blasting David Letterman for his sexual verbal attack on Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter However, most of the liberal media have dismissed Letterman’s crude remarks as “just another joke”

How has the conscience of the radical left been so seared that they condone this type of behavior? Only their hatred and fear of a woman who represents the conservative values that made this nation strong and against which they are rebelling, can explain this attitude.

Apparently, it raises their ire to see a beautiful, successful woman who has worked hard and “walked the walk” achieve what most women only dream of. And beneath it all, I believe, is an anger generated by the awakening of a conscience that has been suppressed in rebellion against the morals and values our forefathers held as they founded a Christian nation.

Several major efforts are underway to demand censure for David Letterman’s unconscionable actions:

1. Media Research Center founder, Brent Bozell, denounced Letterman’s attack during an interview on Fox News. A press release issued by MRC demanded an apology from David Letterman. and includes a link to another article on their site that documents previous attacks by Letterman on the Palin family. Brent Bozell has called upon members of the MRC Action Team to deluge CBS with letters demanding a full and public apology from David Letterman. MRC has provided the following contact information:

A link to an Action Alert with a letter that can be signed and submitted to the chairman of CBS Television Chairman is provided, along with this additional contact information for Chairman Redstone:
