Bristol Palin: Tripp Will Be A Well-Rounded Kid

Posted by Dr. Fay on June 15, 2012

Bristol Palin was interviewed about her reality series by Sean Hannity on his show on FOX News last night.  When Sean asked her about the strong positions she had taken publicly on moral issues and why she did the reality series, she responded that no matter what she or her family are doing, people will still be talking about them.  So she might as well have a platform and talk about things important to her and show other girls that “it’s not easy.”

Sean noted that it was sad that Levi isn’t involved in Tripp’s life and asked if that had gotten any better, to which Bristol replied that it had not.  She said that even though Tripp did not have an active father figure, that he had awesome role models in her Dad and her brother and that he is going to be a well-rounded kid.

Sean asked Bristol if she had thought about running for office, and she responded “not any time soon.”  She said she wouldn’t shut that door yet, that she was only 21.  When asked if she wants her mother to run for President, she said that whatever Governor Palin does, the family will support her.   When Shawn brought up the vicious attacks on the Palin family, Bristol said that people talking about them gave her more “fire in my gut.”

Sean asked her if she was more like her Dad or her Mom.  Bristol said she thought she was more like her Dad because she was more “quiet.”    Sean clarified that by saying that Todd was more quiet than her Mom.

Bristol followed up the interview with this post on her blog:

Bristol Palin on FOX & Friends: Faith is Her Compass that Guides Her Decisions

Posted by Dr. Fay on June 14, 2012

Bristol talked to Gretchen Carlson on Fox & Friends today about her upcoming reality series.  A lot of topics were covered, including her role on Dancing with the Stars, the mansion that she, Willow, and Tripp stayed in while filming in Los Angeles, and the role of faith in her life.  Of the latter, she said that faith is her compass that decides every decision she makes and that it is the root of her and her family.

From the FOX News site:

Bristol Palin says if she had known how much of her life would be revealed on her new reality show “Life’s a Tripp,” she might have reconsidered her decision to do it, but added that it’s been a fun experience that she is “excited” for people to see.

In an interview with Fox News “Fox & Friends,” Palin, who is the daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, said she never sought her own show. But she said she is excited for people to see “what it’s truly like” for her on the new Lifetime show.

“Life’s a Tripp” follows Palin on her move to California with her sister to work for a charity. She said the mansion she stayed in was the home of a family friend.

Among the topics explored will be her life as a single mother, and the custody battle with her ex-fiancé, Levi Johnston.

“He does not use any of his visitation rights right now and you see that unfold in the show and you see the journey that I do struggle with the custody case and with trying to get him involved in Tripp’s life and viewers are really going to get a glimpse of that in this show,” she said.

Palin also said she is proud of her mom’s current role in the public arena and did not comment on whether or not she wants her to go back into politics.

“I think she’s doing great with what she’s doing right now,” she said. “I think she’s awesome at endorsing candidates and giving her speeches. I think she’s doing very well.”

Bristol Palin: Why I’m Not On Twitter

Posted by Dr. Fay on June 13, 2012

As the time for the debut of Bristol’s reality series approaches, the Twittersphere is predictably beginning to erupt with typical Palin Derangement Syndrome, as Bristol points out in this article on her blog.

Why I’m Not on Twitter

June 12, 2012 By Bristol Palin 28 Comments

I’m not on Twitter, but my name is definitely mentioned in Tweets.  For those of you who have read the comments on posts like “Mr. President, When Should I Expect Your Call?” and “Hail to the Chiefs: Malia and Sasha Obama,” you’re familiar with the hate that is thrown my way.  (You know, bullying in the name of tolerance and all.)

However, someone brought Michelle Malkin’s tweet to my attention tonight. She tweeted that it’s Time for a Bristol Palin HateFest on Twitter.

That, my friends, is why I’m not on Twitter. I love talking to you guys on Facebook and on this blog, but that’s as much of an internet presence as I need now.  For those of you who are on Twitter, please feel free to tweet out my posts and to spread some love for me there.

You can tell I need it!

UPDATE: Yes, I know she was pointing out the Twitter hate. Thanks, Michelle Malkin for pointing out the liberal hypocrisy! I appreciate your work!

GMA’s Robin Roberts interviews Bristol Palin about her upcoming reality series

Posted by Dr. Fay on June 11, 2012

On Good Morning America this morning, a video of a recent interview with Bristol by co-host Robin Roberts was aired.   ABC News posted the video here, and a transcript of the video here. (PopTower also has a photogallery from ‘Life’s a Tripp’.)

Some excerpts:

Bristol Palin is certainly no shrinking violet. She has appeared on the political stage next to her mother — former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin,  taken center stage on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” and has captured people’s attention, making a few headlines of her own.

Now, with her 3-year-old son, Tripp, in tow, Palin will star in her own reality TV show.  ”Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp,” will feature 10 half-hour episodes that will air on the Lifetime network starting June 19.

Palin, 21, sat down recently with “Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts to talk about the show.

Asked what it was to have cameras watching her every move, every hour of every day, she replied:  “I don’t really think you get used to all of it but Tripp was used to it the whole time. He’s didn’t care if the cameras were there or not. He’s still going to be rowdy, he’s still going to be a little terror, but it was fun. It was a lot of fun.”

Roberts also asked Palin how her mother felt about her doing the series.

“You know, she supports me and she knows that I have good judgment so she is definitely in support of it,” Palin replied.

And the young woman’s strong support of her mother is clearly demonstrated in the show, when she engages in a heated verbal exchange at a bull-riding bar with a man whose political views are different from those of her famous mother.

She added that the real Bristol Palin is “a grounded, normal mom.”

Palin has faced criticism for appearing in the reality show, but says she’s prepared for the public’s disapproval.

“I think I have tough skin and I know that God is on my side and my faith is everything to me. It’s just the root of my life and my family’s life and I think it will do well,” she said. “And when people are talking poorly about me, I think it just gives me more motivation to want to do more and want to speak up even louder and they’re just not doing themselves well by doing that.”

She added: “I think the people who don’t like me, I’m not trying to change their opinion on it, but it’s going to be a good show.”
