Blaming the Victim: Bar Heckler Sues Bristol Palin

Posted by Dr. Fay on June 14, 2012

Video retrieved from The Young Turks

VV…
The guy who, without any provocation,  verbally assaulted Bristol Palin by calling her mother a whore in this scene from Bristol’s  reality series in which she falls off a mechanical bull, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Bristol and Lifetime.   Hanks inserted himself into a scene into which he was not invited by yelling insults across the room and now wants to cash in on it.  The timing of his move just before the premiere of the series and the man’s hatred for Governor Palin leads me to suspect that there is more to his actions than meet the eye.   I strongly suspect there are political motivations as well as monetary ones.

From Ethan Sacks’ article at the New York Daily News:

The infamous altercation between Bristol Palin and a heckler has spilled out of the bar and into the courtroom.

Talent manager Stephen Hanks, who got in a heated exchange with the 21-year-old conservative scion after he lobbed insults about her mother, ex-GOP VP candidate Sarah Palin, at the Saddle Ranch bar in Los Angeles last September, filed a defamation lawsuit Wednesday against the country’s most famous single mom.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. federal court in Los Angeles because Hanks is seeking more than $75,000 in damages, also includes Lifetime — the network that is airing Bristol Palin’s upcoming reality television series, “Life’s a Tripp” — on the grounds that Hanks didn’t give them permission to film him during the incident, Reuters reported.

“Bristol Palin’s conduct was outrageous,” the lawsuit states, according to the wire service. “Bristol Palin first accused Plaintiff of ‘being a homosexual’ in a degrading manner in front of others.”

The exchange, which was caught on camera for her show, began with Hanks shouting out at Palin that her mother was “a whore,” after noticing the Wasilla, Alaska, native being thrown from the bar’s mechanical bull.

“Your mother’s the f–king devil,” Hanks can be heard yelling at the young Palin, after she confronted him and asked him to repeat the insult.

“Is it because you’re a homosexual,” Palin asked. A few seconds later she pointed to a male companion with Hanks and added, “that’s a nice wife you have there.”  [Editor’s Note:  Bristol said instead, “that’s your boyfriend, right?”  Watch the video for the correct context.]

The exchange then degenerated into profanity from Hanks before Palin and her entourage left the bar.

Palin told In Touch Weekly in January that the confrontation was one of the reasons she decided to ditch California to return to her hometown in Alaska. “I wasn’t really into the Hollywood thing,” she told the celebrity glossy. “After that, I just realized that I was over it. I was ready to come home.”

UPDATE:

Ron Devito at US4Palin also reports that the Bob and Mark Show in Alaska came to Bristol’s defense on their radio program today:

Alaska’s Bob and Mark, who have been friends with the Palin family for over 16 years today defended Bristol Palin on their airwaves against deranged heckler Stephen Hanks, who had the unmitigated chutzpah to sue for her and Lifetime Networks for $75,000 for “defamation of character,” as is widely reported in many media reports today. Hanks claims he did not give permission to film him during an altercation with Bristol he initiated during which he insulted former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin – Bristol’s mother – calling her a “whore” and “the (expletive redacted) devil,” among other things.

Hanks’ claim that the incident was filmed without permission is bogus. TV cameras were there with Bristol when she entered the establishment, and Hanks was well aware of their presence. The talk show hosts also noted that Hanks is friends with Levi Johnston, who with the support of Rex Butler, Tank Jones, and the Roll Corporation has carried on a harassment campaign against the Palins. One could argue that Hanks probably likely had fore-knowledge that Bristol would be there.

[…]

Bob and Mark said the outpouring of support for Bristol – even among those who don’t like the Palins – has been nearly unanimous on their personal Facebook pages. Hanks thought he would score points with the left for his actions, but even leftists will not defend him – and rightfully so.

Unmasking the Left’s Hatred for Governor Palin

Posted by Adrienne Ross on January 3, 2011

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

This is really too good to excerpt, but since I must, I implore you to read the full article. “Top 10 Reasons to Hate Sarah Palin” really does break down the unfortunate truth of why Palin Derangement Syndrome is so vile, why some don’t just disagree with her but vehemently hate her. I will share a few of these reasons with you, but click to read them all.

Megan Fox writes:

10. She’s Prettier Than You (and She Couldn’t Care Less)

“Caribou Barbie,” they sneered while insinuating anyone as attractive as Palin couldn’t possibly house a brain behind that stunning face. And she is stunning. Palin is one of those beautiful women for whom doors open, heads turn and lesser beauties fade. She’s one of those girls I imagine had a hard time keeping girlfriends if any were too self-conscious to be lost behind the radiance that is Sarah.

And yet, she is the most unassuming beauty queen I ever saw. How many women on TV can you name who would be caught dead in waders (giant rubber pants with suspenders that make even a taut size 4 look like she weighs 200lbs) and slugging giant halibut with a billy club? And yet, there she is on her show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska, without a stitch of makeup, hair a mess, up to her elbows in fish guts (having a marvelous time) and still managing to look better than most Cover Girls. It must really burn Maureen Dowd that on her best day (with professional makeup artists) she can’t hold a candle to Sarah Palin working a slime line.

[…]

Of course, Palin doesn’t care about any of this and would probably not approve of my bringing it up, but I can’t help myself. Much of the hatred from the Left (especially from the women) stems from this type of petty jealousy.

[…]

It might also have to do with the optimistic, baby-loving, country-loving, family-centered outlook conservative women embrace. It’s better for your pores to have a spirit of love.

Ms. Fox certainly didn’t surprise us with her number 10. The fact that jealousy drives much of the irrational disdain for Governor Palin is not lost on anyone.

This next one really bugs the haters:

6. She Hunts

All leftists hate hunters. It always cracks me up that during the presidential election cycles we will invariably be bombarded with hilarious photos of the limp-wristed leftist candidate trying to carry a gun on some pheasant hunt while appearing cool. Nine times out of ten, he’s carrying it wrong or struggling under the weight of the unwieldy thing he’s never before touched, let alone fired. The reason they do this is not because they’ve discovered a love for hunting but because the majority of Americans believe in hunter’s rights and either are or are married to, or have family members who are hunters! During an election, progressives must lie and try to pretend to be like most Americans when in reality, they are anything but!

They usually out themselves like Obama and his famous “bitter clingers” line,

[T]hey get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment

They just don’t understand why anyone would rather fill their freezer with totally organic meat they tracked, shot, skinned and butchered themselves instead of paying twice as much for worse quality at Whole Foods. And, like Kate Goesslin, they can’t figure out why anyone would want to slog through the cold, rain and mud when there are hotels with restaurants where food magically appears in front of you. They just have no concept of the pioneer spirit, they are so removed from it with hands freshly exfoliated and moisturized with something that cost more than most American’s weekly grocery budgets. So it’s no mystery when Sarah shows us how she stocks her freezer for the low cost of a few bullets and some serious hiking, the Left recoils in horror. Self-sufficiency isn’t on the menu of totalitarian regimes. The little people must be made to rely on the government for their very existence. Those who don’t are a threat to the power structure.

The following reason they hate Governor Palin especially troubles and saddens me. I wish it weren’t true, but indeed it is. I’ve seen enough of the jokes about Trig, the horrible things written and spoken about her not “choosing” to terminate him within the womb, the heart-wrenching statistic that 90% of babies with Down Syndrome in this country are aborted. Her stand for life annoys the snot out of many. The fact that she’s not a hypocrite but walked the walk when reality came knocking at her door, causes them to despise her. I don’t believe in condemning those who have made horrible mistakes in the past, including having an abortion. I believe God offers miraculous forgiveness to those who have done so. His grace, mercy, and love are amazing–and His desire is to bring healing and restoration to those who will confess their sins. However, some so-called feminists feel like Governor Palin owes the world an apology because she did not have an abortion, but chose to embrace Trig. That mindset is sick, for lack of a more fitting word.

5. She’s Pro-Life and Lives It

Of all the reasons to hate Sarah Palin (if you’re a moonbat) this is the one they won’t say out loud but believe me, it’s at the top of the list. In the leftist manual, a woman should never even consider keeping a disabled child. And if she actually does it, she is regarded as a freak. Someone who has no consideration for the groaning planet, heavy with the weight of too many people. A leftist believes even healthy babies should be pruned for the good of the species, so you can imagine their outrage at a person who willingly brings a child into the world who is less than perfect to consume more precious resources.

This may be the most disgusting of all leftist beliefs. The absolute arrogance of the Left is astounding. They believe they can be the arbiters of life and death, that only they know what is best for all of us and the planet and the universe for that matter. How would we survive without them telling us what to do? It’s a mystery.

It pierces their souls (if they have souls) when a woman such as Sarah makes a choice for life because they don’t have the moral character to make the same choice. Their guilty conscience makes them hate anyone who has more compassion than they. Progressives love to talk about compassion but their words never require them to actually be compassionate. When someone else lives in a compassionate way (and isn’t ideologically copacetic) it sears what is left of the conscience inside a leftist. It reminds them who they really are; people who advocate for the killing of the most helpless among us. (Death-loving tyrannical eugenicists.)

I love this next one, and how true it is that no matter what happens, Governor Palin emerges smiling, happy, and unmoved.

4. You Can’t Rattle Her

Despite the attacks, which unarguably have been the worst and most vicious in history, Sarah is still standing, never once bowing her head in defeat. Not only is she still standing, she ridicules and tweaks the Left regularly. They hate this.

I believe what Megan Fox listed as number 2 is really number 1, for there really is but one main reason Governor Palin is so despised. We saw it during the campaign and we still see it now. It’s a spiritual battle.

2. She Loves Jesus

Everybody knows the Left only proclaims to love Jesus during elections. If anyone should mention Jesus’ name at any other time of the year they must be some sort of fundamentalist FREAK. Sarah has never been ashamed of her faith and is willing to admit she prays for guidance. This makes her a major target. A “bitter clinger,” if you will. One of those psychos who believes a man once walked on water.

[…]

The problem is, most people in this country identify as Christians and we know we’re not crazy and so by default we know she’s not crazy either. This makes the left hate her and us more than ever.

Access the full article by going here.

Governor Palin represents everything the Left ought to love but utterly hates instead, perhaps because for her it’s real not just ideology–all of it: her love for God, her belief in the power of women, her strength and work ethic, her beautiful inner spirit that manifests on the outside. This has garnered her the diabolical vitriol of the Left. But while they hate her, so many Americans love her for what she stands for because when we see the values she embraces, we see ourselves. And as we see ourselves in her, we see every attack against her as an attack against us, and we fight back.

Governor Palin has what it takes to lead this country. And for every reason Leftists hate her, God-fearing, freedom-loving, common sense Americans have at least ten reasons we love her and would be thrilled to call her President, if she decides to take that step we’re all hoping she takes.

Ron Devito’s First-Hand Account of Sistah Talk TV Interview

Posted by Adrienne Ross on December 19, 2010

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

Ron Devito of US for Palin was in the Sistah Talk TV studio last Saturday as I sat on the panel to discuss Governor Palin. With his permission, I am publishing his full account of the experience.

Ron writes in his article, “Right-Wing and Left-Wing Extremism Take You to the Same Place”:

“I’ve Got this Gov. Palin Project on Saturday…”

During the second week of December, Adrienne Ross emailed me about a “Governor Palin Project” she had. My interest piqued, and I inquired further. “Well, I’m going to be on a public access station in NYC, and they stream worldwide on the Internet,” Adrienne wrote. Each borough of New York City has a station, but “city” means Manhattan and only one public access station in the five boroughs live-streams. “Manhattan Neighborhood Network? (MNN)” I asked. Indeed it was. I’m familiar with MNN, because when I’m not working or doing doing my own Palin-related (Gov. Palin, family members, endorsed candidates) projects, I’m cutting videos for my wife’s ballet instruction show, Elsy Dance, And… which airs on Fridays at 1630 (4:30 PM) Eastern. Adrienne was to be on Sistah Talk, which airs at 1400 (2 PM) each Saturday. It worked out perfectly. I had to drop off a DVD of a re-run of Elsy Dance, And… anyway.

Sistah Talk

Sistah Talk is a talk show hosted by African-American women and it is oriented toward African-American-specific issues. Without Adrienne telling me anything, I already knew that the show’s hosts most likely bought into the identity politics of the Democratic Party. MNN has a sister building in Harlem, a solid Democrat area, and MNN being located on the Upper West Side, tends to run liberal. The hosts had been cajoling Adrienne to go on for months, but she was ambivalent about it. She did not want to do the show for reasons she couldn’t pin down. Finally, she agreed and Saturday, December 11 was the air date. My instinct told me that Adrienne was being para-trooped in behind enemy lines. And she was. In Sistah Talk TV Interviews Me about being Black and Pro-Palin, Adrienne provided her first-person account of the proceedings.

Pre-Broadcast Preparation

Sistah Talk is broadcast live from MNN’s headquarters, and I was to be in the studio audience presumably to comment. The first order of business was to drop my wife’s DVD off. The DVD clanged to the bottom of the drop-off box. That mission accomplished, I went to the right and into the studio. Adrienne was already there getting ready. I had not seen her since the Going Rogue signing in Rochester.

Adrienne Ross: Grace Under Fire

Finally, the show went live. Almost immediately upon the utterance of the words “Sarah” and “Palin,” the anger and hatred began boiling up in Penwah, who was seated at the left-most side of the table. She started screaming that Adrienne was “ignorant,” “had been played,” “had not gotten off the plantation,” and “This is what is teaching our kids? God help them.” Adrienne took it all in stride like a professional.

Of course, Adrienne is no stranger to controversy. She put her job on the line protesting the inclusion of Gov. Palin in a “Banned Books Week” display at her school. In Rochester, Adrienne had to mollify an angry crowd who learned they probably would not have their copies of Going Rogue signed. Ultimately, everyone’s books were signed. Later that night Adrienne was caught in an egg attack on a display stand featuring copies of Going Rogue. The egg attacker had targeted Gov. Palin, but was 15 minutes too late, because she had left the building. He ended up making restitution, buying the 10 books he damaged. Adrienne handled those situations with grace and poise.

Following the show, the panelists and even an audience member who was not particularly fond of Gov. Palin complimented Adrienne on her professionalism and grace under fire.

Pre-Broadcast Preparation

Explosive Palin Derangement Syndrome

Penwah angrily demanded that Obama’s title should be uttered with his name. For my part, I will do it only under two circumstances: in quoted material from Gov. Palin or on a direct instruction from her or an instruction from a member of her staff that can be authentically traced as having originated from Gov. Palin. For her and only for her, I’ll do it. But, this was not the venue to express that opinion. I stayed silent.

Penwah’s rage continued to boil. She huffed, puffed and fanned herself, strutting and fidgeting within her chair like a peacock. These actions may have been shtick, but her seething hatred was very real. Penwah was starting to look like a burning propane factory full of superheated tanks about to BLEVE (Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion).

The other panelists – though no fans of Gov. Palin by any means – at least backed their arguments against her with reasons. I found their reasons to be flawed, and flimsy, but at least Adrienne had a civilized conversation with these panelists. Reasonable people can disagree. But, there was no reasoning with Penwah, who was growing more enraged by the second.

I made the determination that my commenting during this show would have turned the situation very ugly. The identity politics were at a fever pitch. The MNN staff likes my wife’s videos. I want to keep it that way. Post-broadcast, I met with Adrienne briefly as well as the more reasonable panelists she spoke with. I handed them business cards and said “Look, I don’t expect you to even like Gov. Palin. All I ask is that you go here, and see her accomplishments and see her record – and draw your own conclusions.”

A few days later, Penwah was tagged in a photo with Adrienne. Penwah responded with a curse and threat-laden comment. At least her online personality is consistent with who she is in real life.

The Other Extreme…

After the show, my wife and I went to a party that my lawyer had invited us to. He was a delegate on the floor of the 2008 RNC convention and saw Gov. Palin’s speech live. At the party, he introduced me to someone who he thought would be a good supporter of Gov. Palin’s. Those who know me, know that my wife is rather liberal. When she expressed her view, this man literally exploded. “Obama, Clinton, all of them should be hung [sic]!” “I don’t know how you could be married to her! I’d have killed and buried her by now,” he said about my wife. About the illegal immigrants, he said, “send them all home in body bags!” About Gov. Palin, he said, “if she gets nominated, we have another four years of Obama.” So much for that “good supporter of Gov. Palin” idea….

So, how could I stay married to my wife whose politics are diametrically opposed to mine? Simple. Love transcends politics. I’ve been with women whose politics were the same as mine. And, I’ve been married for 14 years (this December 23).

The African-American raging woman that was Penwah and the Caucasian raging “Tea Partier” that was this unnamed man to me were the same person in spirit. Their hate and their extremism brought them to the same place. Hate is hate. Indeed, I remember one of my teachers telling me that extreme rightism and extreme leftism are curves on the circle that both lead to tyranny and dictatorship.

If you have not yet seen the Youtube video of that Sistah Talk TV episode, watch it here. Keep in mind that this was an hour-long show, and the Youtube clip simply shares excerpts. The full version is even more “lively.”

Disingenuous Palin-Haters Insult American People

Posted by Adrienne Ross on November 28, 2010

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

An article in the ADN today has this sentence beneath it: “Paul Jenkins is editor of the Anchorage Daily Planet.” I suggest replacing that with this: “Paul Jenkins is a delusional Palin-hater.” Despite his weak argument to the contrary, that’s exactly what he is. And though we’re most grateful for his definition of the term “hater,” I really don’t think any of us is in need of his help. We know one when we see one–and he fits the description.

In his article, designed to attack Bristol Palin for speaking out against people who have come against Governor Palin and herself, Jenkins expects the reader to believe that the obvious intense hatred for the Palin family is not hatred at all but healthy disagreement. The problem with that is none of us has just emerged from under a rock, totally oblivious to the irrational insane anti-Palin party that has been going on non-stop for two years.

Jenkins writes:

Bristol stumbled into the finals dead last.

“There’s lots of haters out there that are waiting for me to fail,” she said.

At the wrenching end of the weeks-long contest that captured America’s imagination, she did fail. Bristol Palin finished a miserable third behind real talent on a TV show too many of us watched on the off chance her paranoid, delusional, wack-job mom would be, well, a paranoid, delusional wack-job.

[..]

It seems to me that “hater,” used by the lovely Sarah P. as a blunt instrument on people she has issues with, is an ugly word. In fact, in the “Somalian-to-Norwegian Dictionary and Cooking Guide,” a hater is defined as somebody who disagrees or questions Sarah Palin about virtually anything — or who does not like lutefisk. There is even a picture of her and a pot of fish. I’m not kidding.

To the Palins, using the term immunizes them from criticism. You disagree, you’re a hater; your opinion, your point of view, means nothing. That’s too bad. Hiding behind “hater” is a childish, transparent and fearful self-defense gambit that signals intellectual weakness and a lack of backbone; an inability to defend an idea or principle. It insulates its user to end discourse. It forecloses on compromise, and labeling someone a “hater” is the first step in dismissing and, eventually, dehumanizing them. It’s not me; it’s you.

First things first. It is you, Paul.

Second, if Jenkins expects us to concede that “dead last” in a “DWTS” three-placement Finals is synonymous with failure, he’s out of his mind and probably has never seriously competed for anything in his life. Enough said on that.

Now, Jenkins seeks to prove that there really aren’t Palin-haters out there–just respectful, healthy people who express disagreement with the Palins. One need not look any further, however, than his own words to prove him wrong, as if there was any doubt. Referring to Governor Palin as a “paranoid, delusional, wack-job” won’t get him very far in supporting his claims. He attributes the term “childish” to them while simultaneously choosing to write an article attacking a 20 year old mom who wanted nothing other than to dance. He accuses her mother of possessing “a lack of backbone,” she who daily is insulted, harassed, and threatened by–dare I say?–haters like this character.

Stating that Governor Palin, her daughter, or their supporters, for that matter, throw the hater term out there all willy-nilly to innocent, well-meaning, honorable people who simply don’t agree with them is disingenuous at best. No, it’s a flat-out lie and an insult to everyone’s intelligence. As a child, the elders in my life always said, “No one likes a liar.” I have grown up to despise lies almost more than anything. I’d have more respect for this guy if he simply came right out and identified himself as a hater and was proud of it, rather than trying to convince the public that the Palins are imagining the onslaught of shameless filth they deal with on a regular basis.

Twisted people twist reality to suit their own agendas. Paul Jenkins asserts that the Palin family is imagining hate where none exists. Right. So we’re all stupid, I guess. Has he never seen this depiction of the Governor as Hitler:

Or heard about death wishes from politicians after Ted Stevens died in a plane crash.

Or read about death threats against her.

Or been informed about the allegations of racism.

Or been briefed on the numerous attacks against her son, Trig, found on blogs to which I will not link.

The list really is endless, and surely Paul Jenkins knows it. His article is a seriously weak attempt to convince readers that what they know to be true isn’t true at all. That’s a key characteristic of a hater. They work overtime to make other people think they’re crazy, when in fact they’re the ones suffering derangement–in this case Palin Derangement Syndrome.

Another example of such was debunked by Andrew Breitbart today. Recently Governor Palin cooked the media’s goose for blowing up a simple North/South Korea slip of the tongue. On Facebook she demonstrated that Barack Obama has made a plethora of gaffes, yet reporters never find it necessary to make a media frenzy out of it. Media Matters reported that the Governor was making a big deal out of nothing, that the media largely ignored this. However, count on Breitbart to break down the real deal:

Democratic Party front group Media Matters for America has published yet another attack on Republican Sarah Palin. This one a dishonest portrayal of media coverage of her recent slip of the tongue regarding the crisis on the Korean peninsula.

[…]

In a Thanksgiving Day message posted Nov. 25th on her Facebook page, Palin opened her post with a tongue in cheek send-up of President Barack Obama in which no fewer than ten of his verbal gaffes and misstatements were included and sourced.

[…]

Boehlert smears Palin, describing her as being nuts in some manner or form, “self-obsessed” and imagining things.

“Fox News’ Sarah Palin is now so consumed with every real or imagined media wrong against her that she’s to the point where she’s attacking the press for stuff they don’t even do.”

Even though Palin’s slip was reported in headlined stories by American and international wire services, as well as major news sites across America and around the globe, Boehlert claims “major American newspaper(s) did not turn the Palin/North Korea gaffe into a “major political headline,” did not treat it as news, and did not even mention it as news when it occurred.” Boehlert changes Palin’s assertion of major political headlines to major newspaper headlines, a sleight of hand that allows Boehlert to use Nexis to list major American news outlets that supposedly did not report on Palin’s slip:

“New York Times; Wall Street Journal; Los Angeles Times; Washington Post; New York Post; Houston Chronicle; Philadelphia Inquirer; Newsday; Denver Post; Arizona Republic; Minneapolis Star Tribune; Dallas Morning News; Cleveland Plain Dealer; Seattle Times; Chicago Sun-Times”

Boehlert also claims broadcast media did not cover Palin’s slip:

“What other news outlets ignored Palin’s verbal gaffe when it occurred? All three major networks–ABC, CBS, and NBC–as well as CNN, Fox News, PBS and NPR.”

However, Boehlert fails to note the story exploded on major news sites on the Web within hours of Palin’s slip.

Boehlert also conveniently fails to note that the faux scandal was initiated by his fellow Media Matters writer Oliver Willis.

The piece goes on to name the numerous media outlets that reported on the slip of the tongue–and not just in America either. It was reported in China, Korea, New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, and Australia. Read Andrew Breitbart’s full piece on this here.

Media Matters and Paul Jenkins could learn a thing or two about the American people. We are not sheep led by people so consumed with their anti-Palin agenda that we’ll believe everything they tell us. We’re not that crazy. Instead, we’re smart enough to trust what we see with our own eyes and what we hear with our own ears. And what we’ve been seeing and hearing are dishonest, disingenuous, and disgusting displays of Palin-hatred. No amount of twisting the facts will work to dull us to what is evident to all clear-headed people. We know better, for the truth is so obvious. Pointing fingers at the Palins is only an attempt to divert our attention from the truth. In fact, it actually shows these haters to be the childish, intellectually weak souls Jenkins tries to make the Palins out to be.

Governor Palin Cooks the Media’s Goose for Thanksgiving

Posted by Adrienne Ross on November 25, 2010

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

I’m glad Governor Palin addressed this issue. I just think it’s a pity she had to. This is where Palin Derangement Syndrome has taken us. A slip of the tongue becomes big-time news when the slip was made by someone named Palin. The salivating, rabid reprobates (i.e., the media) cannot even be internally honest enough to admit even to themselves that the Governor simply misspoke, as we all do from time to time. Instead, they pretend that she doesn’t know the difference between North and South Korea. No matter that her previous conversations show that she, of course, not only knows the difference, but is well aware of the issues at play. All truth is sold out for a cheap gotcha moment. Meanwhile, President Obama or then-candidate Obama can make gaffe after gaffe without hardly a word from the lamestream media. Such hypocrisy. This is precisely why people are fed up with politics–from both sides of the aisle.

Governor Palin puts this issue in its proper perspective in her Facebook note, “A Thanksgiving Message to All 57 States“:

My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…

Of course, the paragraph above is based on a series of misstatements and verbal gaffes made by Barack Obama (I didn’t have enough time to do one for Joe Biden). YouTube links are provided just in case you doubt the accuracy of these all too human slips-of-the-tongue. If you can’t remember hearing about them, that’s because for the most part the media didn’t consider them newsworthy. I have no complaint about that. Everybody makes the occasional verbal gaffe – even news anchors.

Obviously, I would have been even more impressed if the media showed some consistency on this issue. Unfortunately, it seems they couldn’t resist the temptation to turn a simple one word slip-of-the-tongue of mine into a major political headline. The one word slip occurred yesterday during one of my seven back-to-back interviews wherein I was privileged to speak to the American public about the important, world-changing issues before us.

If the media had bothered to actually listen to all of my remarks on Glenn Beck’s radio show, they would have noticed that I refer to South Korea as our ally throughout, that I corrected myself seconds after my slip-of-the-tongue, and that I made it abundantly clear that pressure should be put on China to restrict energy exports to the North Korean regime. The media could even have done due diligence and checked my previous statements on the subject, which have always been consistent, and in fact even ahead of the curve. But why let the facts get in the way of a good story? (And for that matter, why not just make up stories out of thin air – like the totally false hard news story which has run for three days now reporting that I lobbied the producers of “Dancing with the Stars” to cast a former Senate candidate on their show. That lie is further clear proof that the media completely makes things up without doing even rudimentary fact-checking.)

“Hope springs eternal” as the poet says. Let’s hope that perhaps, just maybe, they might get it right next time. When we the people are effective in holding America’s free press accountable for responsible and truthful reporting, then we shall all have even more to be thankful for!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

‘DWTS’ Semi-Finals Results

Posted by Adrienne Ross on November 16, 2010

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

NOTE: DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DO NOT YET WANT TO KNOW WHO IS ADVANCING TO THE FINALS OF “DANCING WITH THE STARS.”

Bristol Palin has done it. She has gone all the way from no dance experience at all to the Finals of “Dancing with the Stars.” What an amazing feat and one that should be celebrated. Bristol has worked very hard and, as the judges have said, has come farther than any other participant in the history of the show.

Not everyone is celebrating her success, however. Liberal heads are exploding all over the place. It really is quite pathetic that people cannot put aside their hatred and Palin Derangement Syndrome, just enjoy cheering on some hardworking people, and have a little family-friendly fun. “Dancing with the Stars” results combines judges’ votes with America’s votes. Why some haters are promoting a conspiracy theory is beyond me. But I do know one thing: nobody’s going to stop moving forward and winning just because some losers want them to. It’s onward and upward for Bristol!

Who’s Afraid of Big Bad Palin? (Update: Audience Member Debunks Laugh Track Lie)

Posted by Adrienne Ross on March 6, 2010

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

I’ve had a few things going on lately and therefore have not been blogging much, but I see that Palinphobia–or shall we call it by its more recognizable name, Palin Derangement Syndrome?–has not come any closer to being cured. In fact, in the last few days alone, the Left’s absolute fear of Governor Palin has reached an all-time high. I recommend meds, but I’m not a doctor, so take that for what it’s worth.

I dealt with the first rumor here–the assertion that the Palins will star in a reality show when, in fact, Alaska will be the subject of the series. That one was pretty easy to debunk, although the haters will use anything to try to paint Governor Palin as a limelight-seeker. What they won’t tell you is that she is simply living up to the promise she made, upon resigning as governor, to promote the state she loves. The bogus ethics complaint filers did all that they could to bankrupt the state they claim to love, while the governor had the common sense and dignity to step aside so as not to allow them to continue, knowing she could help more from outside the governor’s office. This project will aid in that.

Let’s give the first rumormongers the benefit of the doubt and say they were simply mistaken people with no ill-intent at all. But here comes the next falsehood, surely a flat-out lie. Governor Palin, some family members, and friends were asked to stop by the Oscar gifting suite during her trip to California. Haters, like the Huff and Puff, once again delighted in reporting anything that would make her look bad. Truth is not a requirement when it comes to her. The goal is to demean and deride.

They reported that “the group was loading up on freebies.” They went on to state:

Or, in common-sense language, Palin and her handlers, “practically cleaned out the suite.”

Another unnamed source, from HollywoodLife.com, says that the former Vice Presidential candidate was intent on spreading all that wealth around her own circle. “She insisted every person in her huge entourage get something, and there were assistants, nannies, security – insanity!” The same source also said that security swept the venue and would not allow photos, which are often expected by companies to use as promotion in exchange for the free products.

Eonline had to get in the lying act also–can’t have other people surpassing them in Operation Take Down Palin.

Here’s their lie:

The Fox News contributor and one-time vice presidental hopeful showed up to Silver Spoon’s Oscar Suite in West Hollywood yesterday, benefiting the Red Cross.

But like all politicians, Sarah and her crew were hardly gems when the cameras weren’t rolling…

“They were like locusts,” says one vendor at the suite, regarding Palin and her large group of hangers-on. “She showed up with like 20 people, and they immediately swarmed the place taking everything!”

S.P. was accompanied by daughter Willow, grandson Tripp and a bunch of female handlers. A source at the suite said Palin was stopping in while daughter Bristol was doing a photo shoot nearby.

We’re told Palin was quite the prima donna and that she insisted the suite be opened two hours early so she could come when no looky-loos would be around.

[…]

Palin grabbed some oversize sweatshirts and tie-dyed “jeggings” for Bristol, got a blowout by colorist Erick Orellana from the Chris McMillan Salon, along with snatching up jewelry from Pascal Mouawad, Skagen Watches, Lash Food and 40 pairs of Aiaiai headphones.

A spokesperson for Aiaiai tells us Sarah said “they would be great for working out.”

But was Sarah just grabby ‘n’ whiny for a good cause? The press release for the suite states Palin gave over $1,700 dollars to the Red Cross and planned to donate what she received at the suite to charity.

Oh, really?

Too fab she gave money, but we can assure you she did not give up any of her swag.

What liars! Here’s the truth, directly from Melissa Lemer, the co-owner of the Silver Spoon (emphasis mine).

The Silver Spoon, a company owned and operated by women and established with a firm belief in supporting women in business and leadership, invited Governor Sarah Palin and her family to participate in a charitable function sponsored by The Silver Spoon and the Red Cross to support the Red Cross’ disaster relief efforts in Haiti. Governor Palin graciously accepted since it was in support of such a worthy and timely cause. The governor arrived with a small group about 15 minutes prior to our store’s official opening; and upon arrival, she and her entire group gave generous donations to the cause. We offered to open early to accommodate her schedule; she did not ask us to open early. The other vendors routinely set up an hour before the event opens, so they were already there when the governor arrived. No one was asked to come in early. When Governor Palin arrived, she and her guests made generous donations. I escorted her around and introduced her to every vendor, and they talked to her about their products and gifted her with samples. She never asked for anything but politely accepted the products. The governor and her family and guests were very gracious and respectful to everyone. We asked and the governor happily agreed to take a photo with the American Red Cross staff and the staff of The Silver Spoon. The governor stayed for a total of about 35 minutes, thanked everyone, made an additional generous personal donation pledge to the Red Cross, and then departed.

The stories currently circulating about Governor Palin’s attendance at our event are total fabrications. Just one example of the many falsehoods is the ridiculous idea that Governor Palin walked away with 40 AIAIAI headphones. In reality, she was given two pairs of AIAIAI headphones – one for herself and one for her daughter Bristol who could not attend the event. The idea that she took 40 pairs is an outrageous falsehood. It would have been impossible because the vendors only bring around 100 items for the entire two day event. They would have run out of product after an hour of opening yesterday.

Just to clarify things, the entire point of giving someone a swag bag is to have them take your product and hopefully purchase more. The whole point of giving away products is to “give them away.” That’s why we call this type of event style a “gifting suite.”

We would like an immediate retraction and an apology to The Silver Spoon, its vendors, and especially to Governor Sarah Palin.

Read Ms. Lemer’s official statement here.

Does anyone care about the truth anymore? One or two people even? Andrew Breitbart is one who has joined Ms. Lemer in requesting a retraction.

He ends his request with this:

Exit question: If Palin is so green, so dumb, and so ripe for satire as E! Online and the rest of the mainstream media says she is, why does the left need to fabricate or wildly exaggerate stories to impugn her character? If she’s so bad, prove it with the truth.

Read his entire article here.

Is the Left this frightened of the former governor, a private citizen, that they will stoop to absolutely anything to discredit her? Are they that pitiful? My goodness, one would think that after time and time of looking like complete loons, they would muster just a shred of dignity and stop this nonsensical lying. Somebody pass them the memo that says the American people are growing weary of being misled. Some Americans may not agree with every decision the governor makes. Some clearly do not subscribe to her worldview. But most rational, decent human beings want their opinions based in reality, not lies by people determined to manipulate their thinking. I agree with Breitbart. If Governor Palin were really the creep the Left wants us to believe she is, it would be evident in the life that she lives. Why then would spreading lies be necessary? The answer is simple: it wouldn’t be. They resort to it because they simply have nothing else with which to work.

Here’s yet another example, for Palin Derangement Syndrome knows no end. We are aware that Governor Palin was a hit on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. C4P highlighted many of the comments about it in the article, “Reactions to Governor Palin’s Tonight Show Appearance.” She even did a comedy routine, which was hilarious. Now, the Left is so desperate they have accused The Tonight Show of using laugh tracks. Wow, they get more and more pathetic with each passing day.

TBTM Julie of the Daily Kos writes:

I’ve dealt with sound engineering for 30 years, as a film maker, interviewer, musician, working with master reel to reel tapes/decks at EMS Music in Seattle in the 80’s as a sound duplication engineer, or setting sound levels for my and other bands in live situations at shows. I won a Hollywood award for animation in 2000. I know sound. And it’s my opinion that audio portions of Sarah Palin’s March 2nd appearance on Jay Leno’s Tonight show were added or amplified, edited before broadcast to make it appear that Sarah Palin was more welcome than she was.

I know. I was there.

But NBC is calling out the lie. James Hibberd’s The Live Feed reports NBC’s denial.

NBC is denying a report that “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” boosted apparent audience enthusiasm for Sarah Palin’s appearance by using a laugh track.

[…]

Asked about the audio track, NBC replied, “Neither the audio nor the laughs were enhanced for Sarah Palin’s segments on ‘The Tonight Show.'”

Surely even NBC’s denial will face the spin we’ve come to expect, but they ought to know what really went down, right? Besides, the network hasn’t exactly been the governor’s best friend. Why would they guard and protect her now?

Yes, Palin Derangement Syndrome is in full swing, as usual. The lies and attacks keep on coming–and they’re intensifying. Fear produces that kind of reaction in people.

(H/T C4P & US4P)

Update (H/T Sinistar): RonDog was in the audience during Governor Palin’s appearance on The Tonight Show. What does he call this laugh track rumor? BS (emphasis NOT added!).

He writes:

In perhaps the worst possible development for the radical left since the discovery of Karl Rove’s now infamous “Weather Machine,” Governor Palin’s recently exposed top secret “laugh track” machine appears to also have even more dastardly powers than were originally feared.

In addition to altering the space-time continuum, and reprogramming the master computers at NBC – to cause laughter during Sarah’s monologue to appear where none had been before, and send well-intentioned jeers and “groans” from her wannabe stalkers into the abyss – this mysterious device apparently also exerts some kind of irresistible mind control powers over the loyal fans of “American Idol” megastar Adam Lambert, causing many of them to actually like the producer of the upcoming new “Alaska Valley Days” TV series, Governor Sarah Palin.

Or, at least, that’s what the Kos Kids would like you to believe.

Many of those wacky ultra-left “conspiracy-mongers” who post at such online cesspools as the Daily Kos, Huffpo and DU have been foaming at the mouth all week about Sarah’s “rock star” performance during for last week’s taping of “Day Two” of Jay Leno’s return to the traditional 11:35 pm time slot for the “Tonight Show.”

Since I was actually in the studio audience last week when Governor Palin made her “comedy debut” – with a small band of “Palin palm print”-bearing FReepers (and FRiends) who had crashed the party with the intention of acting as “Ed McMahon” to Sarah’s “Johnny Carson” – I call BS on their widely-reported, but easily-debunked, “laugh track” conspiracy theory.

Yep, another lie bites the dust.

Sarah Palin Sets the Record Straight, Again

Posted by Adrienne Ross on November 8, 2009

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

Via Facebook, Sarah Palin speaks about last night’s Wisconsin Right to Life event and the media’s misinformation concerning it:

Great Wisconsin Event (And Setting the Record Straight, Again)

Great event last night in Wisconsin! It was an honor to meet great Americans who are working so hard to remind us of life’s sanctity and value. I commend this fine state for its efforts to make our nation a more welcoming place for all children.

Let me set the record straight on the media’s follow-up reports of the great event: Despite what CNN reported, decisions about not allowing cameras at the event were the prerogative of the sponsors of the event, and I, of course, respected their decision.

I am about to set out on my book tour, where media will no doubt join us at many spots. In the meantime, I ask our friends in the media once again: please quit making things up.

– Sarah Palin

PS: Attached is a photo from the event. You can read more about the excellent work the Wisconsin Right to Life does here.

Maybe adding “please” to her request that the media quit making things up will produce the desired results this time. How ’bout it, media?

The governor has set the record straight. Wasn’t there a time when journalists sought to get the facts straight themselves? But then again, that was when journalism was alive. I forgot; it died in 2008.

As an aside, isn’t it interesting how those who mistakenly whine and complain that Sarah Palin won’t allow the media into one of her events are the same ones who whine and complain that she won’t get out of the limelight? Which one is it? This is classic Palin Derangement Sydrome. Symptom #1: Loss of reasoning faculties.

Surprise! Billionaire Obama Supporter Keeping Levi Johnston In The Spotlight

Posted by Gary P Jackson on October 8, 2009

As we have talked about since the election, there has been a coordinated effort by backers of Barack Obama to harm Governor Sarah Palin. We have also talked about the efforts put forth by both candidate, and now President, Barack Obama to do everything in his power to derail Sarah Palin.

We have previously talked about Barack Obama’s Alaska Mafia and how Obama and Pete Rouse, his former campaign chief-of -staff and now White House adviser, not only played an active roll in the failed “Troopergate” smear on Sarah Palin, but also actively coordinated the many attacks on Sarah post election, including encouraging the filing of all of the phony-baloney “ethics complaints” against her that would eventually cost the Alaskan taxpayers around $2 million.

Barack Obama even did a little pay-for-play “Chicago Style” payoff to Alaska State Senator Kim Elton for his part in the “Troopergate” smear. After being sworn in, Obama quietly appointed Elton to a make work job over at the Department of Interior. You can read the whole deal, as well as watch the great video that ties the entire mess together in a nice little bow, here.

As you know, Levi Johnston, the poster child for abstinence, and deadbeat dad of the century, is now “staring” in an advertising campaign for nuts. This ad, which also features his “bodyguard” “Tank” Jones, an Alaska private investigator, who works for Alaska attorney Rex Butler, a big Obama supporter, features Levi and “Tank” pretending to be at an “event” and has Levi eating the company’s nut.

Butler, who claims to be Levi’s “manager” is also representing Levi’s mother, who is facing drug trafficking charges.

The seriously cheesy ad, which features Levi in a green t-shirt with “Alaska” on it, (because no one would know who this moron is without it) is set against an all white background with “flash bulbs” going off and “canned” crowd noises while ‘Tank” pretends to “fight back the paparazzi!”

Perfectly pathetic, just like the participants!

Our friend Gregory Tart did some digging into Roll Industries, the parent company behind all of this. On his blog, Gregory reports that:

For months last year, the Huffington Post mocked Sarah Palin over Levi Johnston. The jokes about “meth”, hillbillies, and Bristol Palin was beyond the pale.

Now, Obama backers have launched an equally insidious deal to keep Levi Johnston in the public eye through a promotional campaign by Roll Industries for its nuts products- which seeks to profit from the former relationship between Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston. Johnston is a spokesman for the Roll’s Paramount Growers division.

Stewart A. Resnick, a billionaire liberal democrat, residing in Los Angeles, is the Chairman of Roll International. Rolls’ business involves agriculture, Fiji Water, and the Franklin Mint. He is also a prime financial backer behind the Democratic Party. His wife Lynda is Godmother to Arianna Huffington’s daughter.

Many have speculated that rich democrats would go to any lengths to keep this character in the public eye to embarrass Sarah Palin. It’s a sad world where the rich can score political points by attacking children to get at the mother.

Rolls International Brands include Sunkist.

Some very interesting points there, for sure. The ties to hate monger Arianna Huffington, whose vile Huffington Post actively and openly promotes hatred toward Sarah Palin are the most interesting, for sure.

In her attempts to constantly smear and spread lies about Sarah Palin, Huffington plucked two Z-list bloggers Shannyn Moore and Jeanne Devon (AKMuckraker) from obscurity, and made them feature bloggers on her website. Moore and Devon are charters members of Barack Obama’s Alaska Mafia.

One of the things Moore and Devon, along with Linda Kellen Biegel, were quite adept at, was illegally publicizing details of the various “ethics complaints” filed against Governor Palin. In Alaska, it’s illegal to publicize this sort of thing, until the complaint is resolved. Of course, the law has no teeth.

Oddly enough, if you do this and the complaint is against any government official EXCEPT the Governor, the complaint is thrown out. But curiously, not if it’s against the Governor or their staff. Hmmmmm.

Moore and Devon, along with the rest of the Alaska Mafia made great use of this loophole, often having intimate details of the complaints published on their blogs before they were even filed!

Wonder how they were able to do that? Could it be they were the ones writing them for others to file on their behalf?

The complaints, which have all been dismissed, were for ridiculous things like being photographed holding a fish, conducting an interview in her office, receiving cookies as a “bribe,” and wearing a jacket in sub-zero weather!

Linda Kellin Biegel, who was raising funds (possibly illegally) on her website so she could file more ethics complaints, herself, even concocted a conspiracy theory when Sarah went to visit her troops in Kosovo!

Even better, being the constitutional scholar that she is, Biegel, and her Mafia buddies decided that it was “unconstitutional” for Sarah Palin to talk to her troops while visiting them in Kosovo! I kid you not!

Sarah Palin, as Commander-in-Chief of the Alaska National Guard, addressed her troops giving them encouragement and support. Bringing them the best wishes from home.

Such is the depths of depravity these supreme sufferers of Palin Derangement Syndrome are capable of!

Look, the bottom line is this. Barack Obama and his many wealthy supporters know what we know. Sarah Palin is the biggest threat out there to Barack Obama, besides Barack Obama’s own incompetence. They know that she is an incredibly effective politician, see “death panels,” as well as a much loved Conservative figure and leading candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. This has them scared, as it should.

Obama’s billionaire backers like Stewart Resnick and George Soros have an almost endless supply of funds they will use to go after Palin in all sorts of “creative” ways. It must be noted though, that George Soros, whose MoveOn.org claimed “ownership” of the democrat party after the 2006 elections, spent a small fortune between 2000 and 2008 trying to defeat George Bush, to no avail!

As for Levi Johnston, this guy is a flake. Thank goodness Bristol had the good sense to dump this loser. It’s really a sad commentary that this kid would disrespect his son just to make a fast buck.

Levi, a total deadbeat who hasn’t paid one red cent in child support, is the sort person society used to shun. But we are living in the times were losers like this are celebrated, not banished to the ash heap of history. See Roman Polanski, David Letterman, and Obama’s “Safe Schools Czar” Kevin Jennings.

It’s obvious Levi Johnston has no self respect. But you would think this mutt would care about his son, Tripp, enough not to make a spectacle out of himself, but that is just too much to ask, I guess. Levi’s next move is to pose for Playgirl Magazine. I wonder if anyone has told Levi that about 80 percent of the purchasers of Playgirl are gay men?

It looks like Roll Industries, Stewart Resnick, and our President, have found themselves quite the winner in “spokesmodel” Levi Johnston!

Roll International is the parent company for these fine products:

Sunkist Fruit

Teleflora, the largest flower delivery service in the world.

FIJI bottled water

POM pomegranate products.

Paramount citrus and nuts.

Suterra pest control items.

Neptune Pacific Line global shipping company

In-house advertising agency Fire Station, which pays Levi as a pitchman for Rolls’ nuts.

H/T to Josh Painter for being on top of this as well. His is a must read blog.
