Gov. Palin Urges Pastor to “Stand Down” on Koran Burning, and Today He Does. Now Extremists Need to “Stand Down”

Posted by Adrienne Ross on September 9, 2010

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

Pastor Terry Jones has abandoned his plans to burn Korans. Reuters reports:

A Christian pastor said on Thursday he was canceling a plan to burn the Koran, which had drawn international condemnation and a warning from President Barack Obama that it could provoke al Qaeda suicide bombings.

Terry Jones, who heads the tiny Dove World Outreach Center church in the Florida university town of Gainesville, told journalists outside his church in this Florida town that he was calling off his plan.

He said at the same time that an agreement had been reached with Muslim leaders to move the location of an Islamic cultural center and mosque planned close to the site of the September 11 attacks in New York.

But sources close to New York Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf said there was no agreement to move the site of the proposed Muslim cultural center.

The planned location has been opposed by many who have said it is insensitive to families of the 2001 victims of the attacks by militant Islamist group al Qaeda.

Jones said he had been promised by Muslim leaders in New York that the location would be changed.

Earlier world leaders had joined the president in denouncing Jones’ plan to burn copies of the Islamic holy book on Saturday, the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks that killed almost 3,000 people.

Read more here.

The plan to burn the Korans was the wrong tactic, misrepresented Christianity, and was an “unnecessary provocation,” as expressed by Governor Palin yesterday when she urged here that he “stand down” on this plan. President Obama later addressed the issue.

The Governor had tweeted the following:

Book burning=bad;Cleric running 4 Afghan Parliament calling 4 murder of US children n response 2 scorched Korans=worse. Where’s media focus?

After Pastor Jones decided to “stand down” today, she tweeted:

Book burner “stands down” -good! Now, followers of book who want to kill innocents bc some people do things you don’t agree with: Stand Down

Amen.

First Amendment Rights–Except for Palin, Says Liberal Hypocrites

Posted by Adrienne Ross on August 16, 2010

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

Sheya has a good post over at Conservatives4Palin. In it he puts the hypocrisy of the Left on full display. It’s amazing how the rules change whenever Governor Palin is the topic of discussion.

Sheya writes:

When it comes to the double standard and hypocrisy towards Governor Palin, Greg Gutfeld said it best: “Palin’s Great at Exposing Liberal Idiots”. Every time Governor Palin does or says something the left come out of the woodworks to compete on who can prove themselves to be the biggest idiot.

But when it comes to the hypocrisy, the Ground Zero Mosque controversy dwarfs anything we’ve ever seen before. Suddenly all those proponents of the mosque have become very concerned about freedom of religion as long as it’s not Governor Palin who exercises that right, for when Governor Palin merely utters “God” she is quickly pronounced by those same “freedom of religion” proponents as a radical extremist.

Those same proponents also cite the First Amendment as reason to allow the erection of the mosque. Once again the First Amendment only applies as long as Governor Palin doesn’t exercise her First Amendment rights. Every time Governor Palin posts a Facebook note or sends out a tweet those who are so concerned about the First Amendment are the ones calling on her to “Shut Up” “Go Away” or simply just die.

Governor Palin has not argued that the builders of the mosque don’t have the “right to build it” – they do. Similarly freedom of speech doesn’t justify one running around swearing or verbally abusing people, although “legally” one may be free to do so, it is still morally wrong. The same applies to building the mosque at ground zero. Yes it’s “legal” but it still is morally wrong. There is a fine line between “Legally” right and “Morally” wrong.

Governor Palin is a private citizen and deserves the right to voice her opinion on anything she wishes. No one has the right to tell her to shut up. No one is forced to agree with her, we can all debate the issue and let the one who makes the strongest argument win.

Read the rest here.

The wild thing is, Governor Palin drives the Left so crazy they lose all control of their faculties, which keeps them from recognizing their own hypocrisy that is so obvious to those of us in our Right minds.

President Obama Uses Ramadan to Announce “Unshakable” Support of Ground Zero Mosque (Updated w/ Statement from 9/11 Families)

Posted by Adrienne Ross on August 13, 2010

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

A little while ago, Governor Palin tweeted:

Will Obama express US lingering pain& ask Muslims for tolerance by discouraging 9/11 mosque while he celebrates Islamic holy month tonight?

Well, she just got the answer to her question and retweeted Greta Van Susteren’s tweet:

BREAKING NEWS ! PRES OBAMA: Obama Backs Mosque Near Ground Zero WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama on… http://fxn.ws/cry0ir

GretaWire reports:

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama on Friday forcefully endorsed building a mosque near ground zero, saying the country’s founding principles demanded no less.

“As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country,” Obama said, weighing in for the first time on a controversy that has riven New York and the nation.

“That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances,” he said. “This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable.”

Read the full transcript of his speech here.

This isn’t about religious freedom. It’s about common decency. It’s about the pain of 911 that is still so raw. It’s about the fact that the majority of New Yorkers do not want the mosque there. They are not saying people don’t have a right to worship. They’re saying why there on such sacred ground? This is what Governor Palin was talking about in her Facebook post, “An Intolerable Mistake on Hallowed Ground.”

People are also asking other tough questions, like what is the deal with this imam? Where is the money coming from? Why won’t he condemn hamas as a terrorist organization? We’d better ask these questions. Our security depends on it. Why isn’t our President asking them?

So President Obama, who turned his back on any public celebration of the National Day of Prayer his first year in office, decided to announce his support of the mosque as he celebrates Islamic Holy Month tonight at the White House. Interesting.

I respect the diversity of America, the freedom people have to worship as they see fit. What I have a problem with, however, is the failure of the President of the United States to comprehend how the victims’ families, New Yorkers, and each American citizen deserve to be heard, our pain respected, and common decency to prevail. But once again, he appears to be completely disconnected from the people he’s been hired to serve. Perhaps he’ll reconsider his position as he heads out to yet another vacation.

Well, Governor Palin, you asked.

Update: Family members of 911 victims have issued a press release regarding President Obama’s support of this mosque:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
9/11 Families for a Safe & Strong America
Statement of Debra Burlingame, Co-founder of 9/11 Families for a Safe & Strong America, in Response to President Obama’s Remarks about the Ground Zero Mosque

9/11 Families Stunned by Presidents Support of Mosque at Ground Zero

New York, NY, Aug. 14 — Barack Obama has abandoned America at the place where America’s heart was broken nine years ago, and where her true values were on display for all to see. Since that dark day, Americans have been asked to bear the burden of defending those values, again and again and again. Now this president declares that the victims of 9/11 and their families must bear another burden. We must stand silent at the last place in America where 9/11 is still remembered with reverence or risk being called religious bigots.

Muslims have worshipped in New York without incident both before and after the attacks of 9/11. This controversy is not about religious freedom. 9/11 was more than a “deeply traumatic event,” it was an act of war. Building a 15-story mosque at Ground Zero is a deliberately provocative act that will precipitate more bloodshed in the name of Allah. Those who continue to target and kill American civilians and U.S. troops will see it as a symbol of their historic progress at the site of their most bloody victory. Demolishing a building that was damaged by wreckage from one of the hijacked planes in order to build a mosque and Islamic Center will further energize those who regard it as a ratification of their violent and divinely ordered mission: the spread of shariah law and its subjugation of all free people, including secular Muslims who come to this country fleeing that medieval ideology, which destroys lives and crushes the human spirit.

We are stunned by the president’s willingness to disregard what Americans should be proud of: our enduring generosity to others on 9/11–a day when human decency triumphed over human depravity. On that day, when 3,000 of our fellow human beings were killed in barbaric act of raw religious intolerance unlike this country had ever seen, Americans did not turn outward with hatred or violence, we turned to each other, armed with nothing more than American flags and countless acts of kindness. In a breathtakingly inappropriate setting, the president has chosen to declare our memories of 9/11 obsolete and the sanctity of Ground Zero finished. No one who has lived this history and felt the sting of our country’s loss that day can truly believe that putting our families through more wrenching heartache can be an act of peace.

We will honor the memory of our loved ones. We will protect our children, whose lives will never be the same. We will not stand silent.

Brian Ries of The Daily Beast Masterminded Gov. Palin’s Facebook Deletion

Posted by Adrienne Ross on July 22, 2010

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

Earlier today, Governor Palin tweeted that she had reposted her Facebook note expressing disapproval about the building of a Ground Zero mosque. She ended that post with a note that said the original one was “somehow unintentionally deleted by mistake or technical glitch.”

It was not a mistake, and it was no glitch. It was another collaborated effort to silence the most feared threat to the radical leftist agenda. Earlier today, the story emerged exposing the lamestream media’s decision to go after Palin in order to get Obama elected. I covered that controversy here, and C4P covered it here and here. This Facebook situation is simply more of the same anti-Palin tactics.

So let’s take a closer look at who was behind this attack on free speech.

Brian Ries, a writer for The Daily Beast, led the campaign to censor the Governor because he didn’t like her viewpoint that a mosque built on “hallowed ground” would be “a stab in the heart of the families of the victims” of 9-11. So instead of dealing with the issue itself, he did what all far Left yahoos do: he sought to shut her up by putting the “racist” label on her. Perhaps he picked up this antiquated antic from members of the Journolist group. (Just a thought.) He rallied the troops on his blog with the title, “Let’s Report Sarah Palin’s Facebook Rant for Being Hate Speech, Yes?” He went on to write:

Some insane woman from Alaska is ranting on Facebook about how an Islamic community center built near Ground Zero would be a “stab in the heart of the families of the victims.”

Quite frankly, she’s being a racist loon.

Go report her post on Facebook for being “Racist/Hate Speech” to the admins. Let’s see if Mark Zuckerberg has any balls left.

See his full rally cry here.

As a journalist, Mr. Ries should be committed to the expression of free speech, not the snuffing out of it. There is nothing hateful or racist in Governor Palin’s Facebook note. The idea that the multitudes of people who remember the pain of Ground Zero and oppose the building of a mosque there are responding out of anything other than the purest of motives is both dangerous and diabolical. Thinking of this nut, I am reminded of the Governor’s words as reported today by Jonathan Strong:

There are some pretty sick puppies in the industry today. They really need help.

I think Ries qualifies.

Apparently at least one reporter has questioned Mr. Ries’ actions, for he posted here:

This is not really about ‘refudiating’ Sarah Palin. It was a social experiment to explore the boundaries of Facebook’s government-like Terms and Conditions and the power of the Tumblr community.

Free speech on the internet is still a work-in-progress.

And yes, I started it. But Tumblr launched it.

— My response to a reporter asking, “Were you gaming Faacebook to suppress free speech? Or was this really hate speech that shouldn’t be allowed on there?”

We, the people, are tired of these clowns using Governor Palin as their “social experiment.” And this was the wrong day for yet another media yahoo to mess with her. We level-headed, truth-seeking, honest-working Americans are fed up with these loons’ inability to even feign decency regarding the Governor. We’re not going to let this stuff go. We’re finding the hatred where it is, and we’re dragging it front and center–even more vehemently than before.

* You can find Brian Ries on Twitter and read what he’s been saying about this here. In case you want to check him out over at The Daily Beast, click here.

Facebook has since apologized for the deletion of Governor Palin’s Facebook note. CNN reports:

Social networking site Facebook issued a bit of a mea culpa Thursday after a post by former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was deleted from the massive site.

In a statement given to CNN, Facebook said a “note” by Palin about her opposition to building a mosque near New York City’s Ground Zero had been deleted by an automated system.

“The note in question did not violate our content standards but was removed by an automated system,” Facebook spokesman Andrew Noyes said in the statement. “We’re always working to improve our processes and we apologize for any inconvenience this caused.”

After the original post was deleted, Palin re-posted the note Thursday morning.

Pamela Geller: You Bet’Cha! Sarah Palin Joins The Fight Against The Ground Zero Mosque

Posted by Gary P Jackson on July 22, 2010

Pamela Geller (Atlas Shrugs) is one of the leading voices in America when it comes to speaking out against radical Islam, and the dangers this ideology poses world wide. Pamela has been fighting tirelessly against the proposed mosque the radicals want to build near Ground Zero, the hallowed ground where over 3000 people were slaughtered by radical Islamists.

Sarah Palin has weighed in on the issue as well, calling on peaceful Muslims world wide to refute the radical ideology, as well as this mosque. She also called on peaceful New yorkers to do the same:

From Pamela, via World Net Daily:

G-d, I love this woman! Palin nailed it. Here’s an issue no politician will touch, even though polls show that most Americans oppose the construction of this Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero. The politicians – Mayor Bloomberg, Rep. Nadler, Andrew Cuomo and the rest of them – are so fearful of being labeled “bigots,” they will throw their own people under a bus.

But Palin won’t. When she resigned as governor of Alaska, I predicted that she would soon be leading a new revolution of American patriots. And she is doing so. She is not afraid of the jackals, hyenas and vultures who troll her home, her garbage cans and her most prized possession, her children. She is unbowed. She has spine, character, ethics, integrity and above all, true grit.

I am proud to be a National Advisory Board member of Jewish Americans for Sarah Palin. If she runs for president, I’ll be right behind her.

Palin has sided with Americans and American interests. Palin, once again, does the right right. And it’s wildly refreshing. The Left is twisted in knots. That’s what she does. She twists up the morally bankrupt liberals. The Islamic supremacist mega-mosque that liberal politicians support is a stab in the eye of every American. The question is, why there? Why did the terror-tied Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the leader of the initiative to build the mega-mosque at Ground Zero, spend nearly $5 million in cash to buy the property for a triumphal mosque a mere 600 feet from the site of the largest attack – an Islamic attack – on American soil in our history?

There have been 15,644 Islamic attacks across the world since Sept. 11, 2001. Each one had the imprimatur of an Islamic cleric. What is being done to expunge the Quran of the violent texts that inspire jihad? If Rauf is really a moderate, why isn’t he spending his time working on that instead of trying to build this mega-mosque?

Rauf’s wife, Daisy Khan, responded to Palin’s statement with soothing words:

We agree with Ms. Palin that it is time to heal from the wounds of the tragic events of 9/11. We peace-loving Muslims have a responsibility to lead the effort of rebuilding Lower Manhattan. We envision a community center for multi-faith collaboration that is focused on promoting integration, tolerance of difference and community cohesion. We welcome the opportunity to discuss with Ms. Palin how Muslim Americans have an added responsibility to create a counter-momentum against extremism by building institutions like this center, that will amplify the voices of the mainstream peace-loving Muslims.

Yet there is a great deal of evidence that Daisy Khan is not being honest: Rauf himself has been patently dishonest. Bloomberg and the rest should take note. They haven’t. Yet Rauf dissembled about whether his 13-story “community center for multi-faith collaboration” at Ground Zero would contain a mosque at all.

While Daisy Khan speaks about “promoting integration, tolerance of difference and community cohesion,” and Rauf has told American reporters that the mosque should encourage religious dialogue, he has told the Arabic media that he doesn’t believe in religious dialogue. He told American media that the mosque would be funded only by Muslims in America, but he told the Arabic press that it was getting funding from Muslim countries worldwide. He portrays himself as a moderate, but openly supports Shariah (Islamic law) and recently refused to denounce Hamas.

Nonetheless, his response and the response of other mosque organizers to the overwhelming pain this mosque has caused has been ad hominem attacks. The opponents of the mosque are smeared as “racists,” “bigots” and “Islamophobes.”

I find the Cordoba Initiative’s callousness toward the grief it is causing radically intolerant. But only Sarah Palin among high-profile politicians has dared to say so.

And even though Bloomberg and all the other New York establishment politicians have lined up in favor of the mega-mosque, the game is not over by a long shot. New Yorkers have witnessed how a tiny fish stalled and effectively killed a wonderful project for the rotting West Side Highway and wharfs. We have seen the city impose draconian smoking regulations, automobile and traffic regulations and even restaurant food bans (transfats). But this mosque is getting unprecedented rapid-fire action: cooperation from city officials who hadn’t moved in 15 years before they started moving on this. There is more grease on these wheels than in the Gulf.

By contrast, Palin restates the obvious. She is unafraid, and so she just gets better and better – and she was brilliant to begin with. And Palin is onto Obama, and has consistently taken him on, again unafraid. It is no wonder that the post-American president and his left-wing thugs are scared to death of her.

This is what the leader of the free world should sound like. The woman is singular. She takes on all comers in defense of liberty and America’s founding principles. She has more testicular fortitude than all of the GOP. The Left quakes at the mere mention of her name. No matter how the destroyers come at her, she never backs down, never gives up, never gives in. Is it any wonder that the New York Times ran a front-page story on Palin’s emergence as the most influential figure in Republican politics? If the Times is admitting it, pigs are flying.

Obama’s hatred of the good for being the good manifests itself in his contempt for Sarah Palin. His contempt is a badge of honor.

Palin is everything Obama isn’t: quintessentially American, proud, patriotic, decent and good. Sarah has something Obama can only dream of – heart and soul. Her courageous opposition to this mega-mosque, while the politically correct flock to endorse it, shows that once again.

My organization, Stop Islamization Of America, is holding another peaceful protest against the Ground Zero mega mosque on Sept. 11. Be there.

It’s now or never. This is a game-changer.

Pamela has more about this at her website here.

In case you are wondering, 52 percent of New Yorkers agree with Pamela and Sarah on this deal.

Pamela Geller is a true Patriot, and a defender of Liberty and Freedom. A real inspiration to the rest of us. Pamela’s lead in this fight is exemplary. We must all stand with her, just as Sarah is.

Pamela mentions the Cordoba Initiative in her writings. People need to understand the significance, to radical Islam, of placing a mosque on the site where so many people were slaughtered by their Muslim brothers on 911.

The Cordoba Initiative is named for the city of Cordoba in Spain. In 711 Cordoba was captured by Muslims armies. It became the capitol of the Caliphate of Córdoba. The Muslims ruled until 1031, when infighting caused the whole thing to collapse. To Muslims, the conquest of Cordoba was a great victory over the infidels. You can read more here and here.

Symbols are very important in the Muslim world, and to radical Islam, the Cordoba House, which is the official name for this Ground Zero Mosque and Islamic Center, will stand as a symbol of victory over the Great Satan, the United States. To radical Muslims world wide, having this mosque, built on the site of the worst attack on American soil, is the ultimate symbol of conquest.

It’s been nine years since those brutal attacks on our nation. It’s a real disgrace that we don’t already have a new World Trade Center: bigger, shinier, and defiant, constructed and filled with busy workers at Ground Zero. The fact that there isn’t, speaks volumes about the poor leadership in New York, but the fact that this same “leadership” is willing to allow this insult to all Americans to move forward is simply appalling and unacceptable.

God Bless Pamela Geller for what she is doing, and God Bless Sarah Palin for stepping up as well. There are some things that are so outrageous one simply must stand up and be counted.

One another note, Pamela has a great new book out, The Post American Presidency, a must read which is available from Amazon.com. Pick up your copy today!

Pamela Geller on Gov. Palin and Ground Zero Mosque; Update: “Kill the Mosque” Video Ad

Posted by Adrienne Ross on July 20, 2010

On Sunday, Governor Palin sent out a tweet voicing her disapproval of the controversial Ground Zero mosque. After the tweet, Lefty brains exploded all over the universe, which they are wont to do whenever she so much as gets out of bed in the morning. These pathetic characters have been getting their behinds kicked with every “type type type, send” from the Governor, but they continue to sit breathlessly in front of their computers in hopes of being the first to find something–anything–that will be the straw to break Mama Grizzly’s back. So it’s not surprising that with Sunday’s tweet they scattered like roaches in a newly lit room.

They emerged not with substance on Governor Palin’s disapproval of the mosque. They couldn’t–not when 52 percent of New York City voters agree with her. They attempted to divert attention away from the real debate and focused instead on…vocabulary? Whatever!

I remember my graduate school class, Discipline in the Secondary School. One important lesson my professor taught the aspiring educators was to never allow a transaction with a student to be crossed. That is, never allow him to shift topics on you to remove attention from the real issue on the table. He does this most often when the actual issue causes him discomfort. A crossed transaction is often the cause of breakdowns in communication, arguing, and frankly, huge wastes of time. Children are masters of it, and the really “good” ones frustrate the snot out of adults who play into their hands. Recognizing what’s going on, however, and responding as an adult, rather than lowering oneself to the child’s level, demonstrates real authority; it also often annoys the child seeking to divert attention from the topic at hand. The Left acts like that child, going bonkers over Governor Palin because their incessant attempts to get her off her message go unrewarded. She knows the value of the message, so their silly tries to cross into a more comfortable conversation for their warped minds don’t work. She continues to remain focused and on-point. And so do we.

So try as they might to deter us, we continue to drive home the original point that a Ground Zero mosque would add to a pain that is “too raw, too real.” Pamela Geller, in a World Net Daily article, writes:

Sarah Palin has joined the fight.

She sent this message out Sunday on Twitter:

Peaceful New Yorkers, pls refute the Ground Zero mosque plan if you believe catastrophic pain caused @ Twin Towers site is too raw, too real

Pamela Geller asks all the right questions. She also understands who’s been right-on with this issue. Governor Palin refuses to shut up or go into hiding as do so many other politicians who are more interested in appearing politically correct or being liked. Look, there are issues of national security and common decency at stake in America today. We cannot afford to sell out what’s right simply to appease the Left. Governor Palin recognizes this.

Geller winds down her article with this to say about Governor Palin:

By contrast, Palin restates the obvious. She is unafraid, and so she just gets better and better – and she was brilliant to begin with. And Palin is onto Obama, and has consistently taken him on, again unafraid. It is no wonder that the post-American president and his left-wing thugs are scared to death of her.
