Jeff Flake Announces Governor Palin’s Endorsement (U.S. Senate, Arizona)

According to Jeff Flake’s campaign website, Governor Palin has given Flake her endorsement in his run for the U.S. Senate (Arizona):

The Flake campaign announced today that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has endorsed Jeff Flake for United States Senate. Jeff Flake sought Governor Palin’s support and is honored to have it.

In a letter to Jeff, Governor Palin wrote: “The United States Senate needs a leader like Jeff Flake. Jeff is a proven conservative crusader, and today I am proud to announce mysupport for his campaign to become the next U.S. Senator from the great state of Arizona.

“Throughout his tenure in Congress, Jeff has been a consistent leader against the federal government’s out of control spending. Jeff is known for his media releases titled ‘Just How Broke Are We?’ where he brings home the reality of what our unimaginable $15 trillion debt really means in everyday terms. For the past eight years, Jeff has been ranked #1 in the House of Representatives by the National Taxpayers Union for his efforts against wasteful government spending.

“Credited by many as the leading anti-earmark crusader in the House, Jeff has fought hard against pork barrel spending – often times casting one of the few GOP ‘no’ votes on bloated spending measures. Gov. Palin Endorses FL’s Sandy Adams for U.S. House

According to Sandy Adams’ website, Governor Palin has endorsed her candidacy for Congress:

Today, freshman Sandy Adams announced that she had earned the endorsement of former Alaska Governor and Vice Presidential Nominee Sarah Palin. Governor Palin’s support is proof-positive that Sandy Adams is the conservative choice for Florida’s new 7th Congressional District.

“Governor Sarah Palin has led the charge for conservatives,” said Adams. “While many politicians subscribe to the notion of the status quo, Governor Palin has risen above it. She knows that the true power of our country comes from the American people – not the Washington establishment or special interest groups. Governor Palin knows our nation is drowning in debt and the only way for our country to survive is to send true fiscal conservatives to Washington, D.C.

“Americans need representatives who will truly listen to them and that care about the direction our country is heading. Adams was endorsed by Gov. Palin in her race against an incumbent Democrat in 2010, and that support helped contribute to a 20 point win in November. At the beginning of this election, Adams approached Palin about continuing that support in her race for re-election. In her letter to Palin, Adams wrote:

During the 2008 presidential campaign your candidacy for vice president shone a bright spotlight on the need for politicians to answer to the people they are seeking to represent. You spoke out against the entrenched bureaucracy that holds our economy down, against the mainstream media who go along with the status quo to maintain their access to power, and against the special interests who too often control the levers of power in politics.

While ultimately unsuccessful, your outspokenness helped a new generation of politicians who were not afraid to stand up to the old guard, who are willing to challenge the status quo, and who believe that the brightest days of our republic lie ahead of us. For that I thank you.

Palin: “Mr. Balanced Budget” for Utah

In a surprise announcement during last night’s appearance with Greta Van Susteren, Governor Sarah Palin endorsed Orrin Hatch of Utah then later posted the following to her Facebook page and to SarahPAC.

Orrin Hatch is part of the one percent. No, not that one percent you’ve heard about. He’s part of the one percent of national politicians who I think should be reelected. Orrin Hatch is a life-long conservative whose dedication and devotion to the conservative cause and to his beloved and beautiful state of Utah is well documented. Orrin was a Utah state campaign chairman for a fledgling and failing presidential candidate deemed “too conservative” and “unelectable” by the media. Ironically, that candidate was the man who restored our country to be a “shining city on a hill” – Ronald Reagan.

When asked about Orrin Hatch, President Reagan once said: “If every member of the Senate were like Orrin Hatch, we’d be arguing over how to deal with a federal surplus, and that’s why I like to think of Orrin as ‘Mr. Balanced Budget.’ The United States has been strong enough to deter aggression and maintain the peace, in no small degree due to the efforts of Orrin Hatch. He has been a champion of those who fight for freedom.”

As President Reagan said, Orrin is “Mr. Balanced Budget.” Long before the issue of debt was on the forefront of Americans’ minds, Orrin Hatch knew our government would face insolvency if we did not get our budget under control. He sponsored or co-sponsored a Balanced Budget Amendment 17 times, and he voted in favor of a Balanced Budget Amendment at least 9 other times. We know he will use his seniority and influence to dissuade politicians from continuing to raise the debt ceiling without any plan to balance the budget and end these dangerously unsustainable deficits.

Orrin Hatch voted against Obamacare and has pledged to repeal it. While we’re on the topic of Obamacare, which is currently before the Supreme Court, keep in mind that the Supreme Court would not look the way it does today if it were not for Orrin Hatch fighting for conservative nominees on the bench – from Clarence Thomas to John Roberts and Samuel Alito. Unlike other Republican Senators who are up for reelection this year, Orrin voted against both of President Obama’s nominees, Kagan and Sotomayor. And unlike some others, Orrin has gone out of his way to embrace the Tea Party movement.

For the past two years, Orrin has received a 100 percent rating from the American Conservative Union. He’s staunchly pro-life – receiving a 100 percent rating from the National Right To Life Committee. The NRA has given him an A+ rating. Club for Growth listed him as one of the most conservative U.S. Senators and gave him a 99 percent rating.

I join other conservatives like Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, and Tea Party leaders like Sal Russo in encouraging Utah voters to return Orrin Hatch to the U.S. Senate. Since Mark Levin has always got a way with words, read what he recently told Senator Hatch: “I feel that you would be… a terrific elder statesman to a lot of these other young guys who I’m going to be pushing in these other states.” I’m with Mark. That’s spot on.

We need Orrin’s conservative Reagan-like leadership – and our new crop of conservative senators Richard Mourdock, Deb Fischer, and Ted Cruz might need some friendly advice finding their way around the Senate.

Palin Power: Congratulations to Deb Fischer

What’s in an endorsement? Apparently a great deal when you’re the underdog candidate and Sarah Palin gives you the nod.  Last week, Deb Fischer, candidate for U.S. Senate in Nebraska, released a statement that the Palin’s had endorsed her candidacy.  Mama (and Papa) Grizzlies went to work by volunteering either in person, making donations, and/or setting social media “on fire”.  The announcement by the Fischer campaign was followed up by Palin’s own message via Facebook note here.  Sarah Palin’s endorsement had a similar effect on Richard Mourdock’s U.S. Senatorial campaign in Indiana last week.

With 100% of the precincts in, here is the final tally for the Nebraska primary for U.S. Senate.

Palin: Endorsement of Deb Fischer for US Senate

Earlier today, GretaWire broke the news that both Governor Sarah Palin and Todd Palin have endorsed Deb Fischer (R-NE) who is running for the U.S. Senate.  At time of writing, neither SarahPAC nor Palin’s Facebook page has been updated to reflect this newest endorsement.

Palin: Mourdock For Indiana

Governor Sarah Palin offers up one of her first endorsements for the 2012 election cycle.  In a Facebook note posted moments ago, Palin urges commonsense conservatives to get behind the Richard Mourdock senatorial campaign.

 

I join commonsense conservatives in endorsing Richard Mourdock to be the next Senator from Indiana. Conservatives of all stripes are uniting behind Richard Mourdock. It’s not just Indiana that benefits from sending the right Senator to serve for the right reasons; the nation as a whole benefits, and that is one reason why the eyes of so many around the nation are focused on the Indiana race.

Indiana deserves a conservative in the Senate who will fight for the Hoosier State, uphold our Constitution, and not just go along to get along with the vested interests of the permanent political class in D.C.

Richard Mourdock is the conservative choice for Indiana. Senator Lugar’s 36 years of service as a Senator are appreciated, but it’s time for the torch to pass to conservative leadership in Washington that promises to rein in government spending now.

Irish Central: Palin’s Endorsements Could Lead to White House

Irish Central’s Patrick Roberts makes an observation about what Governor Palin’s power to influence elections might say about 2012. Other than his unexplained assertion about “extreme” Conservative candidates, he offers an interesting perspective. Roberts writes:

Christine O’Donnell’s victory in Delaware is the equivalent of the shot heard around the world.

It shows that Sarah Palin will gallop to the Republican nomination in two years if the current seething anger in the party of Lincoln continues.

Who will stop Palin now with the Republican right in such a fired up, throw the bums out mood?

Mitt Romney, not on your Nellie?

Newt Gingrich? Last century’s man.

O’Donnell’s victory is far more significant than that of Joe Miller in Alaska. It occurred in a blue state where moderate Republicans long held sway.

She deposed Michael Castle, the very epitome of the establishment Republican party, a long time moderate who seemed a perfect fit for the vacant senate seat.

Along with Sharon Angle’s victory in Nevada, it shows that the Republican right wing is transcendent that no candidate is too extreme for them and that the party has lurched far more to the right than anyone believed.

Back home in Alaska Sarah Palin may well be measuring her prospects for 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue if this continues.

As I have written here before it could well happen.

Palin Endorsement Betters Miller, Bitters Murkowski

The votes are still being tallied in the last of yesterday’s Primary Day races involving candidates Governor Palin endorsed. Governor Palin’s other endorsees, Pam Bondi, Allen West, Paul Gosar, and John McCain, emerged victorious. However, the eyes of the nation followed the Joe Miller-Lisa Murkowski show-down in Alaska, as Palin’s endorsement put a relatively unknown Miller on the map. A day later, we’re yet looking toward the North as votes are still being counted in a very close race that Miller is leading. He gives credit to Governor Palin for the good shape he’s in.

The ADN reports today:

U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski is battling for her political life this morning against Republican primary challenger Joe Miller, the tea party-backed candidate who has a slim lead as ballots continue to be counted.

Miller, a Fairbanks attorney, led from when the first returns came in Tuesday night and was on the verge of pulling off one of the biggest election upsets ever in Alaska.

With 429 of 438 precincts counted this morning,, Miller had 45,909 votes (51 percent) to 43,949 (49 percent) for Murkowski.

Miller credited the support of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for his lead.

“I’m absolutely certain that was pivotal,” he said.

Lisa Murkowski is not quite as happy with the Governor. Though just recently she said she harbored no hard feelings because Palin endorsed Joe Miller, she certainly seemed a bit bitter last night:

Murkowski on Tuesday night took a shot at Palin, saying that when Palin resigned as governor last summer she said she would use her new national role to help out Alaska.

“I think she’s out for her own self-interest. I don’t think she’s out for Alaska’s interest,” Murkowski said as she waited at her campaign headquarters for results to come in.

I wonder if Murkowski would have had a different perspective had Governor Palin managed to throw her a bone with an endorsement. What exactly is Murkowski’s beef anyway? Governor Palin backed a conservative candidate who has a desire to serve the state of Alaska in the way voters expect. Murkowski’s voting record does not serve the interests of her constituents, she functions too much like the other side of the aisle, and it’s time for her to go. Governor Palin has done her part to help make that happen by backing a true conservative named Joe Miller. Sounds to me like a great benefit to both the state of Alaska and the United States of America.

And the Governor’s influence has made all the difference in the world:

Palin and the Tea Party Express made a big push to convince Alaskans to dump Murkowski for Miller. Polls had shown Murkowski with a big lead just three weeks ago. But Miller supporters had thought it was narrowing and were expressing confidence earlier in the day Tuesday that they would be pulling off an upset.

This was the first test of Palin’s influence on Alaska politics since she resigned as governor last summer, and the first sign of how influential the Tea Party movement can be in shaping political races in this state. The race was being closely watched nationally as a sign of Palin and the Tea Party’s strength, but also because Murkowski is one of the leading Republicans in the Senate.

There may be a long way to go on this one, but Joe Miller has already done what no one thought he could, no one except Governor Palin, of course, who obviously saw his great potential. We await, with her, the “miracle on ice”.

Governor Palin Awaiting “Miracle on Ice”

It was a huge night for Governor Palin’s endorsees. Results are in for four out of five of these particular elections, which I covered here, here, here, and here. The Governor is batting 1,000.

Alaskan Joe Miller, taking on incumbent Lisa Murkowski for U.S. Senate, is leading in a very tight race. Not many people expected him to have a shot at first. He was out-spent and not as well-known, but he is definitely the true conservative in the race. Governor Palin brought attention to Miller with her endorsement, allowing him to surge.

Meanwhile in Alaska, Sen. Lisa Murkowski was leading Miller going into the day, but partial results show her trailing. Miller, a Fairbanks lawyer, war hero and West Point graduate, mainly attracted national attention because of his endorsement by Palin, a longtime Murkowski rival.

Ian Lazaran writes:

Nobody in Alaska knew who Joe Miller was prior to her endorsement. Prior to her endorsement, Miller had no chance. Keep in mind too that Murkowski outspent him by a 10-to-1 margin.

No other Republican would have taken a chance on an underdog like Miller except for Palin. That she has been able to push him to get so close to an incumbent with a 10-to-1 fundraising advantage speaks volumes about the power she wields.

The end result could go either way, and it could take quite some time before this one is decided, but as Lazaran explained in his article, Governor Palin has already won. Now we just need to keep pulling for a Joe Miller victory. Lisa Murkowski’s record shows she’s no conservative, and her pro-abortion stand doesn’t help her any. Here’s to Joe!
