Survey: 40% Of Tea Party Patriots Are Democrats And Independents

Posted by Gary P Jackson on April 5, 2010

Our research shows that Tea Party activists’ top concern – economy and jobs — mirrors the majority of voters in the country
. -David Winston, president of The Winston Group

Bad news for Barack Obama and the Marxist-democrat party. Despite what the nonsense their media partners are trying to sell the American people, a significant number of Tea Party Patriots, nearly half, are not Republicans.

The Winston Group conducted three studies from December 2009 through February 2010 and fond that while 57% of the Tea Partiers are indeed Republicans, 28% consider themselves independent and 13% consider themselves democrats.

Their summary:

WASHINGTON DC (April 1, 2010) — Tea Party activists may be ardent supporters of economic conservatism but are similar to the overall electorate when it comes to economic priorities, according to the findings of a new report released by The Winston Group today on the political movement.

In one of the most extensive looks to date at just who Tea Party activists are, how they think, and the ideas that matter to them, the report found that 17% of the people polled considered themselves “part of the Tea Party movement” and more than four in ten Tea Party members said they were either Independents or Democrats.

In three national surveys, done for New Models from December 2009 through February 2010, 57% of Tea Party members called themselves Republicans, another 28% said they were Independents, and 13% were Democrats. Two-thirds of Tea Party members identify as conservatives but 26% say they are moderate and 8% described themselves as liberal

The study also found Tea Party members are more likely to be male by a 56-44% margin, slightly older than the electorate as a whole and middle income earners. When it comes to issues, the research found that Tea Party activists espouse a strong economic conservatism.

In the February 2010 New Models study, 36% of Tea Party members name the economy and jobs as their top issue with national deficit and spending close behind at 21% — over twice as high as the overall electorate. However, when given the choice in the January survey, Tea Party members favored “reducing unemployment to 5%” over balancing the budget 63-32%, which closely reflects the overall electorate (64-32%).

While Tea Party members prioritize job creation over deficit spending and tax issues, they value economically conservative policies because they view them as a means to reducing unemployment and improving the economy. Over 4 out of 5 Tea Party members (85%) say tax cuts for small business will create more jobs than increased government spending on infrastructure while the overall electorate prefers tax cuts by a more modest 61-31% margin.

You can also read the Tea Party Memo April 2010

Couple this with the fact a significant number of these Patriots are minorities, Blacks, Hispanics, and others, and one can see the Marxist-democrat party’s once reliable voters are deserting them en masse.

And the hits just keep on coming! Now there is this bit of bad news for Obama reported by C4P:

We Ask America finds that “[t]he Land of Lincoln may be home base for President Obama, but it joins other Midwestern states having slightly higher disapproval-over approval-ratings.” A majority of Illinois registered voters disapprove of their former junior Senator and former congregant of Trinity United Church of Christ.

The poll was conducted on March 10 but since Barack Obama’s national approval has not increased in the last month, it’s unlikely that he’s performing any better in his home state.

We Ask America also finds longtime Democrat Party hack David Obey’s re-election efforts possibly in jeopardy. Over 53% of the voters in Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District are less likely to support Obey’s re-election because he voted in favor of Obamacare. Governor Palin endorsed his likely opponent Sean Duffy in mid-February and assisted him with a successful money bomb.

Exit Question(s):

We used to call folks like these “Reagan democrats” and they helped propel Ronald Reagan to two historic landslide election victories in 1980 and 1984. Do we now call them Palin democrats?

Ronald Reagan won 49 states in 1984 when he was re-elected, with his opponent, Walter Mondale, only wining his home state (by 2 points) and the District of Columbia. Will Obama even be able to carry Illinois against Sarah Palin in 2012?

Will Barack Obama start wishing there really were 57 states? (Or is it 58?… I can never keep up!)

Sarah Palin’s Rallying Cry: This Out-of-touch Congress Sounds Our Clarion Call to Take a Stand

Posted by Gary P Jackson on March 22, 2010

Like most Americans, I sat in total disgust last evening as radical communists cheered. The most radical and destructive government ever assembled in this greatest nation on earth voted to destroy it all last night, and then celebrated!

It was vile, it was hateful. It was disgusting, and it was distasteful.

Of course, we knew it was coming. The second voters elected this Marxist Congress way back in 2006 we knew we were in big trouble. And it didn’t take long either. Historically low unemployment and the longest period of economic growth in our nation’s history quickly reversed, and thanks to policies put in by the newly minted democrat Congress, the economy faltered then collapsed. This has resulted in unemployment numbers not seen since the Carter years.

Then in one of the biggest collective mistakes in human history, American voters voted in Barack Obama. The reasons why many voters fell for this Communist’s nonsensical chants of “hope and change” and promises of rainbows and unicorns in a Utopian paradise are unimportant now, as Sarah Palin is fond of saying, they just got snookered!

Palin, and frankly, millions of us regular people, tried to warn America about this un-American Marxist and the destruction he would visit upon this nation. We knew about his radical associations and his Marxist upbringing by a mother, father and grandparents who were all active members of the Communist Party. We all knew that Obama’s mentor Frank Marshall Davis was an anti-American communist, so radical he was tossed out of the NAACP!

We all knew that Obama actively sought out other radicals in his college years, as well as later in life. We knew Obama “palled around with” murdering domestic terrorist William Ayers and his convicted cop killer wife, Bernardine Dohrn, who was once on the FBI’s “10 Most Wanted” list. We even knew that Obama’s wife, Michelle, worked with Dohrn in Chicago, and the Obama’s allowed the Ayers/Dohrn combo to babysit their kids!

We all knew about Obama’s radical America hating preacher of 20 plus years, the Reverend Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright. And of course we all came to know all of Wright’s church’s anti-American and anti-Semitic stances, and how Wright and his church cozy up to Hamas. We also learned that “Black Liberation Theology” was nothing more than Marxism, communism, dressed up in a marginally more palatable package.

In other words, we all knew that Obama, from the time he was just an innocent child, a babe in his mother’s arms, was marinated in Marxist ideology and anti-American hatred, as well as anti-Semitism. We knew that Obama was trained from birth, by his America hating kinfolk and all of their friends to be what he is today: A radical Communist dedicated to the complete destruction of our way of life. It’s what he was trained to do. It’s how he was raised and groomed for life.

So…….the events of the past few days come as no shock to Conservatives, we saw this man and his Congress for what was he and they were, from day one.

There is great news though. Thankfully, while Americans may get distracted at times, and not pay attention to things of a political nature, at this point, they are fully and completely engaged. Men and women who have never been political in their lives are stepping up and speaking out.

No better example of this was the major protest that took place in Washington Saturday and Sunday, with only 24 hours notice, over 25,000 people rallied to fight against this unconstitutional government take over of 20% of our economy and 100% of our lives.

Do not despair, dear readers, the fight is not over, it’s only just begun. Sarah Palin issued a rallying cry today. A real reminder that we all must take a stand against these radicals and defeat them at every turn and on every level:

Out-of-touch Congress Sounds Our Clarion Call to Take a Stand

We’ve been reminded many times that elections have consequences. Yesterday we saw the consequence of voting for those who believe in “fundamentally transforming” America whether we want it or not. Yesterday they voted. In November, we get to vote. We won’t forget what we saw yesterday. Congress passed a bill while Americans said “no,” and thousands of everyday citizens even surrounded the Capitol Building to beg them not to do it. Has there ever been a more obvious exhibition of a detached and imperious government?

In the weeks to come, we can expect them to try to change the subject, but we won’t forget. Don’t let them move on to further “transformational” steps while forgetting what Congress just did against the will of the people. Though Obamacare will inflict billions in new taxes on individuals and employers, at least it creates some jobs: the IRS might have to hire as many as 16,000 new employees to enforce all the new taxes and penalties the bill calls for! And that doesn’t include all the other government jobs from the 159 new agencies, panels, commissions and departments this bill will create. As the private sector shrinks, we can count on government to keep growing along with the deficits needed to keep it all afloat. (Is this the kind of “change” Americans asked for?)

In the end, this unsustainable bill jeopardizes the very thing it was supposed to fix – our health care system. Somewhere along the way we forgot that health care reform is about doctors and patients, not the IRS and politicians. Instead of helping doctors with tort reform, this bill has made primary care physicians think about getting out of medicine. It was supposed to make health care more affordable, but our premiums will continue to go up. It was supposed to help more people get coverage, but there will still be 23 million uninsured people by 2019.

Though they’d like us to forget, we will remember the corrupt deals, the corrupt process, the lack of transparency, the deceptive gimmicks to game the CBO score, and the utter disregard for the will of the American people. Elections have consequences, and we won’t forget those who promised to hold firm against government funding of abortion, but caved at the last minute in exchange for a non-binding executive order promised by the most pro-abortion president to ever occupy the White House.

All along we’ve said that we want real health care reform, but this isn’t it. We mustn’t be discouraged now. We must look to November when our goal will be to rebuke big government’s power grab, reject this unwanted “transformation” of America, and repeal dangerous portions of Obamacare that will bury us under more Big Government control.

This is just the beginning of our efforts to take back our country. Consider yesterday’s vote a clarion call and a spur to action. We will not let America sink into further debt without a fight. We will not abandon the American dream to government dependency, fewer freedoms and less opportunity. Change is made at the ballot box. If we work together, we can renew our optimistic pioneering spirit, revive our economy, and restore constitutional limits.

Stand tall, America. November is coming!

– Sarah Palin

I know the communists are out there claiming a great victory, and dismissing all of us, the American people, as sore losers. It would be one thing if the communists achieved victory with great bi-partisan support such as FDR and LBJ had for their disastrous expansions of government, but you see, the American people have learned from experience that huge government entitlements and expansions as those put in place by Roosevelt and Johnson take on a life of their own, and are bankrupting our nation now. They know this ObamaCare fiasco will destroy us all.

Not only was ObamaCare shoved down America’s throat, against the will of the American people, it was done without a single Republican vote, or the vote of many democrats who actually have some sense of the difference between right and wrong, good and evil.

In other words, not only was there no bi-partisanship, the radical communists couldn’t even get all of the members of their own party to go along! In fact, to pass the bill on a pure partisan, party line vote, billions of tax payer dollars YOUR dollars, were spent bribing Senators and congressmen for their votes!

This is the most corrupted process in our nation’s history.

The good news is no one is going to take this lying down. Last night Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott announced he had initiated a conference call with many of the state Attorneys General around the country and they had come to the decision to launch a multi-state lawsuit:

Just got off the AG conference call. We agreed that a multi-state lawsuit would send the strongest signal. We plan to file the moment Obama signs the bill. I anticipate him signing it tomorrow. Check back for an update at that time. I will post a link to the lawsuit when it is filed. It will lay out why the bill is unconstitutional and tramples individual and states rights.

The Washington Post notes this morning that 11 states are prepared to file suit the moment ObamaCare becomes law:

Ten of the attorneys general plan to band together in a collective lawsuit on behalf of Alabama, Florida, Nebraska, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Washington.

To protect all Texans’ constitutional rights, preserve the constitutional framework intended by our nation’s founders, and defend our state from further infringement by the federal government, the State of Texas and other states will legally challenge the federal health care legislation,” said Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, in a statement.

The Republican attorney generals say the reforms infringe on state powers under the Constitution’s Bill of Rights.

Virginia Attorney General Kenneth Cuccinelli, who plans to file a lawsuit in federal court in Richmond, Virginia, said Congress lacks authority under its constitutional power to regulate interstate commerce to force people to buy insurance. The bill also conflicts with a state law that says Virginians cannot be required to buy insurance, he added.

If a person decides not to buy health insurance, that person by definition is not engaging in commerce,” Cuccinelli said in recorded comments. “If you are not engaging in commerce, how can the federal government regulate you?

WaPo goes on to note:

In addition to the pending lawsuits, bills and resolutions have been introduced in at least 36 state legislatures seeking to limit or oppose various aspects of the reform plan through laws or state constitutional amendments, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

So far, only two states, Idaho and Virginia, have enacted laws, while an Arizona constitutional amendment is seeking voter approval on the November ballot. But the actual enactment of the bill by President Barack Obama could spur more movement on the measures by state lawmakers.

As you can see, the real fight has just begun. Liberty and freedom are worth fighting for and those who would deny Americans their God given right to their freedom and liberty, as guaranteed by our Constitution, must be defeated and their regimes destroyed.

We are more than up to this fight ladies and gentleman, and more than willing to go the distance, doing what we must to defeat the communists and destroy, once and for all, their ability to poison this nation with their sick ideology.

Sarah Palin is our nation’s moral leader and our inspiration. But she is not alone, patriots across the nation and around the world are rallying to her message of real hope and real change, and are making a difference. Many great voices have emerged and we have found that there are indeed real statesmen and women wondering the halls of Congress.

Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee delivered a very passionate speech from the House floor Sunday night:

Ed Feulner from the Heritage Foundation has a powerful message for the communists and the American people:

House Minority Leader John Boehner pulled no punches and showed us why he is ready to measure for new drapes in the Speaker’s office!

The communist party passed ObamaCare…. just barely…by using every parliamentary trick they could muster, Bernie Madoff style accounting, bribes and threats. They did this against the will of the American people. For this they will pay and pay big.

As longtime democrat pollster and adviser Pat Caddell said, this is a “political Jonestown,” mass political suicide for the democrat party. And as someone who used to work Jimmy Carter, Caddell knows an epic political disaster when he sees it!

The communists who have taken over the democrat party have awakened a sleeping giant. More than anytime in our nation’s history, the citizens are awake, aware, and engaged.

We have one message for Obama and the communists, November is coming.

WE are coming!

Sarah Palin To Obama: Health Care Bill Is Same Old Song And Dance Only More Expensive

Posted by Gary P Jackson on February 24, 2010

The President and his lunatic Congress simply won’t listen to the American people. America has loudly rejected ObamaCare and any thought of it. The democrat/communist party just lost what has been one of the bluest of blue seats for half a century, based solely on the fact that Scott Brown, the new Senator from Massachusetts, promised to vote to kill ObamaCare!

The democrat/communist party is facing losses in the House and Senate like it has never seen in America’s history. The loses, to use the Obama regime’s favorite buzz word will be “unprecedented!”

And yet, knowing this is a suicide mission for anyone voting to advance this dangerous and unconstitutional legislation, Obama is asking his people to sacrifice their careers to get this monstrosity passed into law.

Never mind these people, including the President, work for us, and never mind 75-80 percent of “us,” (according to some polling) have told these people to cease and desist!

To continue to attempt to force this completely rejected crap sandwich down America’s throat is criminal, and in my opinion, those pushing it should be treated as criminals, enemies of the people.

With that said, America’s Governor has weighed in:

More of the Same, Only More Expensive

The President has wrestled control of the health care debate away from Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid by finally introducing his own plan. Unfortunately, the White House’s proposal includes everything we found untenable about the old Senate bill – only this one is even more expensive! This is what you might call putting “perfume on a pig.”

What’s in this “new” proposal? It has the unpopular (and arguably unconstitutional) individual mandate that forces people and employers to purchase health insurance – only this time with much harsher fines on employers who choose not to go along with another expensive government mandate. It has provisions that will make employers think twice before expanding their workforce. It has cuts to Medicare Advantage, a popular program which allows seniors to pay a little more money out of pocket for better coverage. And, of course, it still has sweetheart deals – only this time they’ve been extended even more.

We don’t know what the final long-term cost of this will be because the Congressional Budget Office hasn’t had a chance to calculate costs. We do know that the White House recognizes that its proposal will cost tens of billions more over the next ten years than the already-expensive $2.5 trillion Senate bill. The President promised last July that he won’t sign a health care bill if it “adds even one dime to our deficit over the next decade.” But he’s now proposing a health care bill with uncertain fiscal repercussions that could lead to endless deficits.

The rising cost of care has driven the entire health care reform debate. So how does the President’s proposal address this central issue? Price controls. That’s right: Washington, D.C. wants to give a panel of bureaucrats the power to cap insurance premiums and prices. As Michael Cannon of the Cato Institute notes, “artificially limiting premium growth allows the government to curtail spending while leaving the dirty work of withholding medical care to private insurers.” This leads to rationing. Any economist worth his salt – including the White House’s own Larry Summers – will tell you that price controls lead to all sorts of negative unintended consequences. It’s another step towards government controlled health care and away from the real solution: free market, patient-centered reform.

With a government-growing proposal this bad, it’s no wonder the President wants bipartisan cover for it in an election year. Thursday’s health care summit is already being revealed as little more than a photo-op. The Obama administration still denies the existence of the House Republicans’ health care plan that offers alternative solutions to health care challenges – even though the White House website links right to it.

The President’s proposal doesn’t include pro-free market ideas like allowing people to buy insurance across state lines, giving individual buyers the same tax benefits as those who get insurance through their employers, or instituting real medical liability reform. Despite the “kumbaya” rhetoric, Democrats are making plans to ram this bill through the Senate using a partisan procedural maneuver that will bypass the normal bipartisan debate process.

In the meantime, the White House will continue to ignore Republican reform ideas and cast the GOP as the party of no. That’s a hard sell considering that Democrats still hold the majority in the House and Senate. The only real “gridlock” preventing Democrats from doing what they want is the very real threat of America’s voice being heard at the ballot box.

The public is clearly opposed to the Democrats’ health care bills. Americans want to scrap these big-government plans and start over with common-sense, incremental reform. Some on the left have urged Democrats to vote for Obamacare because it’s a foot in the door for universal health care. They understand what’s at stake; so should the rest of us.

The President can perfume this proposal however he wants, but it still doesn’t pass the smell test. Washington should listen to Americans now, or Washington will hear us in November.

– Sarah Palin

As always, Sarah has plenty of links to back her up, and I hope readers will take time to visit each and every one to learn more about the mess Obama is trying to get us into.

One of the things Sarah mentions, that is part of Obama’s failed strategery, is price controls. Governments have tried regulating prices since the time of ancient Rome. It has never, ever worked. It always leads to major shortages of the goods or services being controlled.

In the old Soviet Union, it lead to shortages of food, clothing, and other staples of life. This sort of thinking lead to the eventual collapse of the Soviet Empire. Price controls have destroyed the Cuban economy and are destroying the economy in Venezuela.

Richard Nixon imposed price controls in the 1970’s. It caused massive economic problems for the country that lasted for over a decade. Also lead to massive inflation in the end.

Now this fool in the White House and his power mad Congress want to destroy the best health care on the planet in some maniacal scheme they hope will allow them to control the entire economy, as well as lives of all good decent Americans.

You wanna see “death panels“? Wait ‘till you see the massive health care rationing that will take place if this craven plan is allowed to come to fruition. More devastating than all of the dead ObamaCare will leave in it’s wake from health care rationing, is all of those who had hopes that modern medicine would find cures for diseases they suffer from. Obama’s insane Marxist plan will remove any and all incentives to further medical research.

And since Obama will have destroyed the economy and run up our already unsustainable debt to the point of no return, there will be no government money, tax payer money, to fund medical research either. You see communism is all about the equal sharing of misery, not prosperity and happiness.

This is evil, pure evil. These people are completely out of control. Obama and his insane Congress must be stopped and stopped now. Once stopped they must be watched like a hawk watches chickens.

As long as one progressive democrat/communist is in power, at any level, in any capacity, America, and the American people are in danger.

Sarah Palin: Midnight Votes, Backroom Deals, and a Death Panel: The Continuing Constitutional Crisis

Posted by Gary P Jackson on December 23, 2009

More like Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil with this bunch!

At what should be the happiest, most wonderfully magical time of the year, a great evil has gripped the nation. The most corrupt Congress in our nation’s history in lockstep with the most corrupt and evil man to ever step foot in the Oval Office are committing acts that amount to no less than treason.

As we wrote earlier, in a piece entitled Death of the Republic, some serious maneuvering by Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid slipped some language into the already grossly unconstitutional Obamacare fiasco that would prohibit future Congresses from making changes or repealing key measures of this legislation.

As you can imagine, the outrage over this is through the roof nationwide.

Ironically, and well…even laughably, this provision that Reid and the other communists want to make sure is never, ever modified, or repealed, is the very death panel that the communists and their lap dogs in the corrupt, Obamacentric media have been working night and day, with almost superhuman effort, to convince the public that it never existed!!

It was even deemed “lie of the year” by the radical left wing media!

Sarah has now weighed in on the subject:

Midnight Votes, Backroom Deals, and a Death Panel

Last weekend while you were preparing for the holidays with your family, Harry Reid’s Senate was making shady backroom deals to ram through the Democrat health care take-over. The Senate ended debate on this bill without even reading it. That and midnight weekend votes seem to be standard operating procedures in D.C. No one is certain of what’s in the bill, but Senator Jim DeMint spotted one shocking revelation regarding the section in the bill describing the Independent Medicare Advisory Board (now called the Independent Payment Advisory Board), which is a panel of bureaucrats charged with cutting health care costs on the backs of patients – also known as rationing. Apparently Reid and friends have changed the rules of the Senate so that the section of the bill dealing with this board can’t be repealed or amended without a 2/3 supermajority vote. Senator DeMint said:

This is a rule change. It’s a pretty big deal. We will be passing a new law and at the same time creating a senate rule that makes it out of order to amend or even repeal the law. I’m not even sure that it’s constitutional, but if it is, it most certainly is a senate rule. I don’t see why the majority party wouldn’t put this in every bill. If you like your law, you most certainly would want it to have force for future senates. I mean, we want to bind future congresses. This goes to the fundamental purpose of senate rules: to prevent a tyrannical majority from trampling the rights of the minority or of future congresses.

In other words, Democrats are protecting this rationing “death panel” from future change with a procedural hurdle. You have to ask why they’re so concerned about protecting this particular provision. Could it be because bureaucratic rationing is one important way Democrats want to “bend the cost curve” and keep health care spending down?

The Congressional Budget Office seems to think that such rationing has something to do with cost. In a letter to Harry Reid last week, CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf noted (with a number of caveats) that the bill’s calculations call for a reduction in Medicare’s spending rate by about 2 percent in the next two decades, but then he writes the kicker:

It is unclear whether such a reduction in the growth rate could be achieved, and if so, whether it would be accomplished through greater efficiencies in the delivery of health care or would reduce access to care or diminish the quality of care.

Though Nancy Pelosi and friends have tried to call “death panels” the “lie of the year,” this type of rationing – what the CBO calls “reduc[ed] access to care” and “diminish[ed] quality of care” – is precisely what I meant when I used that metaphor.

This health care bill is one of the most far-reaching and expensive expansions of the role of government into our lives. We’re talking about putting one-seventh of our economy under the government’s thumb. We’re also talking about something as intimate to our personal well-being as medical care.

This bill is so unpopular that people on the right and the left hate it. So why go through with it? The Senate is planning to vote on this on Christmas Eve. Why the rush? Though we will begin paying for this bill immediately, we will see no benefits for years. (That’s the trick that allowed the CBO to state that the bill won’t grow the deficit for the next ten years.)

The administration’s promises of transparency and bipartisanship have been broken one by one. This entire process has been defined by midnight votes on weekends, closed-door meetings with industry lobbyists, and payoffs to politicians willing to sell their principles for sweetheart deals. Is it any wonder that Americans are so disillusioned with their leaders in Washington?

This is about politics, not health care. Americans don’t want this bill. Americans don’t like this bill. Washington has stopped listening to us. But we’re paying attention, and 2010 is coming.

I love this woman! The radical communist scumbags in the media, Congress, and the White House keep saying she’s crazy with the death panel talk, trying to intimidate her, and she comes right back and shoves it up their @sses!

BOOM, taste my nightstick!

Sarah, of course, is correct here. This is all about politics and nothing about health care. This is an evil, wicked thing that is being visited on the American people as we get ready to celebrate the birth of Christ, our Lord and Savior.

At the end of her note, Sarah references an opinion piece from the Wall Street Journal that must be read:

Change Nobody Believes In

A bill so reckless that it has to be rammed through on a partisan vote on Christmas eve.
And tidings of comfort and joy from Harry Reid too. The Senate Majority Leader has decided that the last few days before Christmas are the opportune moment for a narrow majority of Democrats to stuff ObamaCare through the Senate to meet an arbitrary White House deadline. Barring some extraordinary reversal, it now seems as if they have the 60 votes they need to jump off this cliff, with one-seventh of the economy in tow.

Mr. Obama promised a new era of transparent good government, yet on Saturday morning Mr. Reid threw out the 2,100-page bill that the world’s greatest deliberative body spent just 17 days debating and replaced it with a new “manager’s amendment” that was stapled together in covert partisan negotiations. Democrats are barely even bothering to pretend to care what’s in it, not that any Senator had the chance to digest it in the 38 hours before the first cloture vote at 1 a.m. this morning. After procedural motions that allow for no amendments, the final vote could come at 9 p.m. on December 24.

Even in World War I there was a Christmas truce.

The rushed, secretive way that a bill this destructive and unpopular is being forced on the country shows that “reform” has devolved into the raw exercise of political power for the single purpose of permanently expanding the American entitlement state. An increasing roll of leaders in health care and business are looking on aghast at a bill that is so large and convoluted that no one can truly understand it, as Finance Chairman Max Baucus admitted on the floor last week. The only goal is to ram it into law while the political window is still open, and clean up the mess later.

***

• Health costs. From the outset, the White House’s core claim was that reform would reduce health costs for individuals and businesses, and they’re sticking to that story. “Anyone who says otherwise simply hasn’t read the bills,” Mr. Obama said over the weekend. This is so utterly disingenuous that we doubt the President really believes it.

The best and most rigorous cost analysis was recently released by the insurer WellPoint, which mined its actuarial data in various regional markets to model the Senate bill. WellPoint found that a healthy 25-year-old in Milwaukee buying coverage on the individual market will see his costs rise by 178%. A small business based in Richmond with eight employees in average health will see a 23% increase. Insurance costs for a 40-year-old family with two kids living in Indianapolis will pay 106% more. And on and on.

These increases are solely the result of ObamaCare—above and far beyond the status quo—because its strict restrictions on underwriting and risk-pooling would distort insurance markets. All but a handful of states have rejected regulations like “community rating” because they encourage younger and healthier buyers to wait until they need expensive care, increasing costs for everyone. Benefits and pricing will now be determined by politics.

As for the White House’s line about cutting costs by eliminating supposed “waste,” even Victor Fuchs, an eminent economist generally supportive of ObamaCare, warned last week that these political theories are overly simplistic. “The oft-heard promise ‘we will find out what works and what does not’ scarcely does justice to the complexity of medical practice,” the Stanford professor wrote.

• Steep declines in choice and quality. This is all of a piece with the hubris of an Administration that thinks it can substitute government planning for market forces in determining where the $33 trillion the U.S. will spend on medicine over the next decade should go.

This centralized system means above all fewer choices; what works for the political class must work for everyone. With formerly private insurers converted into public utilities, for instance, they’ll inevitably be banned from selling products like health savings accounts that encourage more cost-conscious decisions.

Unnoticed by the press corps, the Congressional Budget Office argued recently that the Senate bill would so “substantially reduce flexibility in terms of the types, prices, and number of private sellers of health insurance” that companies like WellPoint might need to “be considered part of the federal budget.

With so large a chunk of the economy and medical practice itself in Washington’s hands, quality will decline. Ultimately, “our capacity to innovate and develop new therapies would suffer most of all,” as Harvard Medical School Dean Jeffrey Flier recently wrote in our pages. Take the $2 billion annual tax—rising to $3 billion in 2018—that will be leveled against medical device makers, among the most innovative U.S. industries. Democrats believe that more advanced health technologies like MRI machines and drug-coated stents are driving costs too high, though patients and their physicians might disagree.

The Senate isn’t hearing those of us who are closest to the patient and work in the system every day,” Brent Eastman, the chairman of the American College of Surgeons, said in a statement for his organization and 18 other speciality societies opposing ObamaCare. For no other reason than ideological animus, doctor-owned hospitals will face harsh new limits on their growth and who they’re allowed to treat. Physician Hospitals of America says that ObamaCare will “destroy over 200 of America’s best and safest hospitals.

• Blowing up the federal fisc. Even though Medicare’s unfunded liabilities are already about 2.6 times larger than the entire U.S. economy in 2008, Democrats are crowing that ObamaCare will cost “only” $871 billion over the next decade while fantastically reducing the deficit by $132 billion, according to CBO.

Yet some 98% of the total cost comes after 2014—remind us why there must absolutely be a vote this week—and most of the taxes start in 2010. That includes the payroll tax increase for individuals earning more than $200,000 that rose to 0.9 from 0.5 percentage points in Mr. Reid’s final machinations. Job creation, here we come.

Other deceptions include a new entitlement for long-term care that starts collecting premiums tomorrow but doesn’t start paying benefits until late in the decade. But the worst is not accounting for a formula that automatically slashes Medicare payments to doctors by 21.5% next year and deeper after that. Everyone knows the payment cuts won’t happen but they remain in the bill to make the cost look lower. The American Medical Association’s priority was eliminating this “sustainable growth rate” but all they got in return for their year of ObamaCare cheerleading was a two-month patch snuck into the defense bill that passed over the weekend.

The truth is that no one really knows how much ObamaCare will cost because its assumptions on paper are so unrealistic. To hide the cost increases created by other parts of the bill and transfer them onto the federal balance sheet, the Senate sets up government-run “exchanges” that will subsidize insurance for those earning up to 400% of the poverty level, or $96,000 for a family of four in 2016. Supposedly they would only be offered to those whose employers don’t provide insurance or work for small businesses.

As Eugene Steuerle of the left-leaning Urban Institute points out, this system would treat two workers with the same total compensation—whatever the mix of cash wages and benefits—very differently. Under the Senate bill, someone who earned $42,000 would get $5,749 from the current tax exclusion for employer-sponsored coverage but $12,750 in the exchange. A worker making $60,000 would get $8,310 in the exchanges but only $3,758 in the current system.

For this reason Mr. Steuerle concludes that the Senate bill is not just a new health system but also “a new welfare and tax system” that will warp the labor market. Given the incentives of these two-tier subsidies, employers with large numbers of lower-wage workers like Wal-Mart may well convert them into “contractors” or do more outsourcing. As more and more people flood into “free” health care, taxpayer costs will explode.

• Political intimidation. The experts who have pointed out such complications have been ignored or dismissed as “ideologues” by the White House. Those parts of the health-care industry that couldn’t be bribed outright, like Big Pharma, were coerced into acceding to this agenda. The White House was able to, er, persuade the likes of the AMA and the hospital lobbies because the federal government will control 55% of total U.S. health spending under ObamaCare, according to the Administration’s own Medicare actuaries.

Others got hush money, namely Nebraska’s Ben Nelson. Even liberal Governors have been howling for months about ObamaCare’s unfunded spending mandates: Other budget priorities like education will be crowded out when about 21% of the U.S. population is on Medicaid, the joint state-federal program intended for the poor. Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman calculates that ObamaCare will result in $2.5 billion in new costs for his state that “will be passed on to citizens through direct or indirect taxes and fees,” as he put it in a letter to his state’s junior Senator.

So in addition to abortion restrictions, Mr. Nelson won the concession that Congress will pay for 100% of Nebraska Medicaid expansions into perpetuity. His capitulation ought to cost him his political career, but more to the point, what about the other states that don’t have a Senator who’s the 60th vote for ObamaCare?

***

After a nearly century-long struggle we are on the cusp of making health-care reform a reality in the United States of America,” Mr. Obama said on Saturday. He’s forced to claim the mandate of “history” because he can’t claim the mandate of voters. Some 51% of the public is now opposed, according to National Journal’s composite of all health polling. The more people know about ObamaCare, the more unpopular it becomes.

The tragedy is that Mr. Obama inherited a consensus that the health-care status quo needs serious reform, and a popular President might have crafted a durable compromise that blended the best ideas from both parties. A more honest and more thoughtful approach might have even done some good. But as Mr. Obama suggested, the Democratic old guard sees this plan as the culmination of 20th-century liberalism.

So instead we have this vast expansion of federal control. Never in our memory has so unpopular a bill been on the verge of passing Congress, never has social and economic legislation of this magnitude been forced through on a purely partisan vote, and never has a party exhibited more sheer political willfulness that is reckless even for Washington or had more warning about the consequences of its actions.

These 60 Democrats are creating a future of epic increases in spending, taxes and command-and-control regulation, in which bureaucracy trumps innovation and transfer payments are more important than private investment and individual decisions. In short, the Obama Democrats have chosen change nobody believes in—outside of themselves—and when it passes America will be paying for it for decades to come.

This health care bill is a complete and total disaster for the nation. It destroys the Republic forever. In this writer’s opinion, anyone who puts their name to this legislation is guilty of treason and deserves the harshest penalties allowed by law.

One last thing, as both Sarah and myself mentioned death panels here, I just got an e-mail linking to a nice piece from the CATO Institute, a libertarian think tank, that backs up what we’ve been writing about here, and Sarah has been saying from the start:

Death Panels? Sarah Palin Was Right

Posted by Alan Reynolds

PolitiFact.com gave Sarah Palin their “Lie of the Year” award for warning on August 7 that the Democrat’s idea of “cost containment” implied rationing by “death panels.”

The self-described fact-checking web site of the St. Petersburg Times claimed Palin was criticizing a provision in the House bill under which “Medicare would pay for doctors’ appointments for patients to discuss living wills, health care directives and other end-of-life issues.”

The claim that Governor Palin confused one-on-one counseling between doctors and patients with any sort of “panel” was always ridiculous on its face. Indeed, that claim should itself have been a leading candidate for “Lie of the Year.” Yet Palin’s critics kept on equating death panels with counseling throughout the year, as though they could not even begin to understand plain English.

In a column called “Reporting the Lies,” Washington Post blogger Ezra Klein wrote, “Before Sarah Palin talked about death panels, no one knew about Sen. Johnny Isakson’s quiet crusade to persuade Medicare beneficiaries to adopt living wills.”

Adopting a living will requires a lawyer, not a doctor, so there must have been more to the crusade than just that. There is some reason to wonder if the crusaders intended to promote penny-pinching advice like President Obama’s famous suggestion that perhaps grandma should skip the expensive operation and take a cheap pain pill instead (generic, of course).

In any case, no single physician’s advice involves any panel, deathly or otherwise. Palin was clearly worried about rationing by some government-appointed group, panel or board of experts — such the (currently) powerless panel that recently suggested fewer and later breast exams, or the Senate bill’s potentially more lethal Independent Payment Advisory Board

The shameless hoax that Palin had confused individual consulting with rationing by a panel was repeated endlessly. By November, the Washington Post was treating this obvious canard as an established fact: “Proposed health-care reform legislation includes a provision that allows Medicare to pay for “end-of-life” counseling for seniors and their families who request it. The provision — which Sarah Palin erroneously described as “death panels” for seniors — nearly derailed President Obama’s health-care initiative.

What Palin wrote about death panels clearly had nothing to do with counseling or with any other specifics in seminal House bill. What she wrote was: “Government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course.

How could anyone believe Palin’s sensible comment about rationing was, in reality, a senseless fear of counseling? To say so was no mistake; it was an oft-repeated big lie.

Rather than even mentioning the House bill, Palin linked to an interesting speech by “Rep. Michele Bachmann [which] highlighted the Orwellian thinking of the president’s health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff.

Dr. Emmanuel’s varied and murky remarks about using panels of experts (like himself) to ration health care are less clear or less candid than those of another bioethicist, Peter Singer of Princeton. Singer’s article, “Why We Must Ration Health Care,” was a cover feature in The New York Times Magazine on July 15 — shortly before Palin took the opposing side of this issue.

Singer’s argument (about an expensive anti-cancer drug) is that, “If there is any point at which you say, ‘No, an extra six months [of life] isn’t worth that much,’ then you think that health care should be rationed.” But the question itself is rhetorical trickery, sophistry. Even if there was certain knowledge about life expectancy with or without some treatment (which is never true), Singer has no right to any opinion about how much an extra six months of my life is worth (and vice-versa) unless he’s paying the bills.

But that, of course, is what makes the proposed expansion of insurance subsidies and Medicaid so ominous. Just as federal politicians imagine that a small minority stake in some bank entitles them to override all other stockholders when it comes to executive pay, federal politicians would surely claim that even small subsidies for anyone’s health insurance entitle them to, as Singer put it, set “limits on which treatments should be paid for.” And those politicians would surely appoint panels of experts as cover when some life-saving procedure, device or drug was ruled-out for those with insufficient quality-adjusted years left to live.

Singer wrote, quite correctly, that in “Medicare, Medicaid and hospital emergency rooms, health care is rationed by long waits. . . [and] low payments to doctors that discourage some from serving public patients.” [emphasis added]

Pending health care bills would make such government-mandated scarcity of health care much worse. There would be massive shifting of money away from Medicare toward Medicaid. But the extra Medicaid money would be spread around more thinly. States would cut benefits to the poor in order to accommodate millions of new, less-poor people lured into Medicaid, at least half of whom (7 or 8 million by my estimate) currently have employer-provided health insurance.

The Senate health bill supposedly intends to slash Medicare payment rates for physicians by 21% next year and more in future years, with permanent reductions in payments to other medical services too. It would also establish an Independent Payment Advisory Board which would be empowered to make deeper cuts which Congress could reject only with considerable difficulty. If that’s not quite a “death panel” it would surely not be pro-life in its impact.

The Congressional Budget Office says, “It is unclear whether such a reduction in the growth rate could be achieved, and if so, whether it would . . . reduce access to care or diminish the quality of care.

Actually, it’s clear enough that the proposed Medicare cuts won’t be achieved, but that efforts in that direction will nonetheless reduce access to care and diminish its quality. The government can’t boost demand and cut prices without creating excess demand. And that, in turn, means rationing by longer waiting lines and by panels (rationing boards) making life-or death decisions for other people.

As Sarah Palin predicted, “Government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course.

As the CATO Institute points out so well, Sarah is right, as usual. The chronically ill, old folks, and, of course, the disabled are royally screwed here. Evil men like Dr Ezekiel Emanuel have already written the book on these death panels, and it’s all based on who is deemed “productive to society.” This is as evil as it gets. This is a few psychopaths playing God with Americans’ lives.

Below is the original poster the modified one above came from. In Nazi Germany, the government worked overtime to convince it’s people that some lives just weren’t worth living and should be extinguished. They even went so far as to point out how much keeping what they termed “useless eaters” alive cost each and every German. They got this thinking from the American “progressive” movement, by the way.

Sarah Palin brings this home to me, through her beautiful son Trig. Thanks to the American “progressive” (liberal) movement and immoral groups like Planned Parenthood, a group started by Klu Klux Klanner Margaret Sanger, as a way of Negro population control…she called blacks “human weeds“…,we now abort fully 90 percent of all Downs Syndrome babies.

As our friend Adrienne Ross points out: “Trig is a testimony to the beauty and value of all God’s children.” There is simply no way you can look at this beautiful boy and not see that he is a blessing and a true gift. He brings much joy to his family, and inspiration to other families with Downs Syndrome children.

It breaks one’s heart that so many children like Trig never are allowed to experience life because the “progressives” are carrying out a jihad against all children with disabilities. They are attempting to desensitize and dehumanize all of mankind.

Kim Priestap has a very revealing piece on Dr Death, entitled Ezekiel Emanuel: Deny Coverage to Elderly and Disabled for the Greater Good that is a must read.

Sorry to be so long winded here, but lets face it, this is the most sweeping, and the most dangerous legislation ever proposed by Congress and a President. This is pure and absolute evil. Nothing less. The men and women who have signed on to this destruction of America, and her peoples need to be dealt with in the harshest manner humanly possible. They are all traitors.

There was one bit of sanity in Congress though as freshman Alabama Congressman Parker Griffith did something very rare, he switched parties. From Ed Morrissey over at Hot Air:

Usually one does not see Congressmen or Senators flipping parties to join the minority. However, Politico’s Josh Kraushaar has a scoop that Blue Dog Democrat Parker Griffith of Alabama, a freshman in Congress, has seen enough of Nancy Pelosi’s leadership. He will join Republicans in a move that has far more symbolic than substantive impact — for now.

This is a fascinating story. It is rare to see folks switch parties, and switching to the minority party is virtually unheard of. This is a very strong statement about the state of the democrat/communist party.

Congressman Griffith is a doctor BTW. I imagine that had a lot to do with his switching parties and fighting so hard against all of this. I know from speaking with my doctors and their staff, that this pending evil is not wanted in any way, shape, or form.

Sarah was quick to welcome Congressman Griffith aboard via Twitter:

Congratulations Alabama! And all Americans concerned about Capitol Hill’s current agenda;Rep Parker Griffith just did the right thing.Welcome

We are proud to welcome him to the fight as well.

I want to leave everyone with this reminder from the Great Ronald Reagan on the dangers of allowing government to take over health care and what their real end game is:

Sarah Palin On The Fall Of The Berlin Wall: Commemorating A Victory For Freedom

Posted by Gary P Jackson on November 9, 2009

Twenty years ago today, one of the most oppressive symbols of communism fell. This date should serve as a reminder that the Berlin Wall wasn’t meant to keep people from illegally entering East Germany. Nope, it was built to keep East Germans from escaping communist hell. Built to keep them in.

With that in mind, Sarah Palin released a glowing tribute to the triumph for freedom and liberty the fall of that wall and what it means to the world:

Commemorating a Victory for Freedom

Twenty years ago, the ultimate symbol of the division between freedom and tyranny was torn down. The Berlin Wall was constructed for one purpose: to prevent the escape of East Germans to the freedom of the West. The Wall’s cold, gray façade was a stark reminder of the economic and political way of life across the Soviet Union’s sphere of influence in Eastern Europe.

Ronald Reagan never stopped regarding the Berlin Wall as an affront to human freedom. When so many other American leaders and opinion makers had come to accept its presence as inevitable and permanent, Reagan still hammered away at the Wall’s very premise in human tyranny, until finally the Wall itself was hammered down. Its downfall wasn’t the work of Reagan alone. Our president’s actions were joined with the brave acts of many individuals who stood firm and united in facing the Soviet Union. The Berlin Wall came down because millions of people behind the Iron Curtain refused to accept the fate of enslavement and their supporters in the West refused to accept that the “captive nations” would remain captive forever.

Though that long, tragic episode in human history had come to a close finally with the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, it wasn’t the “end of history” or the end of conflict as some had hoped. New conflicts confront us today throughout the world which call for courage and resolve and dedication to freedom. The new democracies and market economies that have emerged in Central and Eastern Europe still require our friendship and alliances as they continue to seek security, prosperity, and self-determination. But as we reflect on present and future challenges, let’s take time to celebrate the anniversary of this awesome victory for freedom. The downfall of that cold, gray concrete Wall should be a lesson to us in hope. Nothing is inevitable. Tyranny is no match for the hope and resolve of those who work and fight for freedom.

– Sarah Palin

These final words are stirring: “The downfall of that cold, gray concrete Wall should be a lesson to us in hope. Nothing is inevitable. Tyranny is no match for the hope and resolve of those who work and fight for freedom.” This sentiment is quite a poignant reminder for where we set here in America, on the brink of communism, and what we must do. As my great friend, the Mighty Serf puts it, “she went all Braveheart on us!

Indeed!

Communism is slavery, nothing more, nothing less.

Communism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. It’s inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.

-Sir Winston Chirchill

It should be telling to all Americans that while our current “president” has plenty of time to jet set around to places like Copenhagen, to shill for his corrupt Chicago buddies, and of course, play golf and shoot hoops, he is conspicuously absent from the festivities going on in Berlin this week.

I have to wonder if, instead of cheering as most of us were twenty years ago, were Obama and his Marxist friends all shedding tears and consoling one another instead, at the fall of this symbol of oppression.

Ronald Reagan railed against socialism and communism his entire life. When he became President, stopping the Soviet Union was one of his greatest goals. Reagan, along with Lady Margaret Thatcher and Pope John Paul II worked diligently to make it happen. Reagan, Thatcher, and the Pope along with millions more world wide understood that communism, in any form, is pure evil, that every man, woman, and child has an inherent yearning for freedom and liberty. It’s a God given right that all men shall be free.

Here is part of Reagan’s wonderful speech at the Berlin Wall. A speech, by the way, his advisers begged him not to give. Damned “moderates!”

Here is a great video of the moments when the Berlin Wall fell, a true climax to decades of Cold War hostilities and human oppression.

There are many websites dedicated to the Berlin Wall, for those who seek to learn more. I found this site a nice condensed version for those that just want general info. Many of us remember the guard towers, complete with armed snipers ready to stop any East German who dared leave their communist “utopia.” This excerpt from Berlin Life says it all:

Despite the various security measures enforced, escape attempts were commonplace, especially in the years immediately following the erection of the wall, when there was still a fighting chance of making it across alive.

Climbing was the obvious way to go and some 5,000 were said to have reached the other side. However in its thirty year history 100 people were shot dead, most famously the eighteen year old Peter Fetcher, who, after he was hit in the hip, was left to bleed to death in no-man’s land as the world’s media watched on.

This serves as a stark reminder, that while people worldwide have taken drastic measures and even risked death to come to America, communist regimes have always had to force their people, under the threat of certain death, to stay!

Reason TV has put together this remembrance of the victims of communism:

The video references the staggering 100 million deaths as the direct result of communism. These are people who were murdered by their dictatorial regimes. The don’t include those whose lives were cut short because of the generally poor lifestyle that communism allows. Poor food supplies, poor health care, poor living conditions.

These murders were carried out by men like Stalin, Castro, Pol Pot, and Mao. Mao, in particular, is troubling, because he is so greatly admired by more than a few members of Barack Obama’s inner circle, his closest advisers.

For more on the evils of communism, check out the Global Museum on Communism.

In closing, Sarah Palin’s tribute to freedom and liberty, that she so artfully penned, is not just a tribute to history. It’s a rallying cry to all patriots. As Obama and his evil regime is marching the United States towards communism at full speed, as tyranny and oppression are rapidly becoming a dark cloud over America, we still have time to fight. We still have time to beat back the evil, to defeat it.

We must all follow Sarah’s lead. We must all be fully engaged in this struggle. America is the greatest nation in the world, and the American people the strongest, bravest, and freest the world has ever known. We can defeat Obama, we can defeat tyranny.

We can restore liberty, freedom, and prosperity. We must. We simply must.

Sarah Palin Takes Barack Obama To Task Over His Pathetic Speech And Personal Attacks On The American People

Posted by Gary P Jackson on September 10, 2009

Remember, Mr. President, elected officials work for the people. Forcing a conclusion in order to claim a “victory” is not healthy for our country. We hear you say government isn’t always the answer; now hear us — that’s what we’ve been saying all along.

– Sarah Palin

Barack Obama really showed himself Wednesday. Acting more like he was a two bit politician on the campaign trail rather than the President of the United States, Obama belittled his office to no end with cheap rhetoric, lies, and attacks on those who disagree with him.

In all of my life, I have never seen a President who just makes the Office so small, so unimportant. Last night Obama took the status of the Office to a whole new low.

We all know Sarah Palin had already put a double dose of heat on Obama before he ever stumbled into the congressional chamber and started up with his glorified Amway meeting.

This is nothing new for Sarah though, she has had Obama’s number since day one:

“This is a man [Barack Obama] who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word “victory” except when he’s talking about his own campaign.

But when the cloud of rhetoric has passed … when the roar of the crowd fades away … when the stadium lights go out, and those Styrofoam Greek columns are hauled back to some studio lot – what exactly is our opponent’s plan?

What does he actually seek to accomplish, after he’s done turning back the waters and healing the planet? The answer is to make government bigger … take more of your money … give you more orders from Washington … and to reduce the strength of America in a dangerous world. America needs more energy … our opponent is against producing it.”

From Sarah Palin’s Vice Presidential acceptance speech at the 2008 Republican National Convention.

What is really disappointing about Obama’s speech is how he was so far off his game. He was 15 minutes late to start with, prompting Dennis Miller to quip later on The O’Reilly Factor that this was a “ringing endorsement for government efficiency!”

My guess is Obama and his speech writers were still crafting a response to Sarah’s Wall Street Journal op-ed, as well as her Facebook slam from the day before.

During the speech Obama was like a child throwing a temper tantrum. Obama has lost the debate. America wants nothing to do with this fiasco. And instead of cutting his losses, and doing his job, he is bound and determined to shove his communistic, liberty and freedom stealing bill down America’s throat.

Another disappointment, in a night of disappointments, is the fact that Obama said absolutely nothing new. If this guy truly wanted to reform health care, and truly wanted to serve the people, he would have thrown the current mess in the trash can and come out with a clean sheet of paper. He just might have garnered some respect, and support. But he’s just not that smart. Obama is going to ride this ludicrous bill right into the ground.

We learned absolutely nothing new about his plan. All he had was his tired old Saul Alinsky tactics. Don’t talk about the issue, just attack people:

“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and ‘frozen.’…

….any target can always say, ‘Why do you center on me when there are others to blame as well?’ When your ‘freeze the target,’ you disregard these [rational but distracting] arguments…. Then, as you zero in and freeze your target and carry out your attack, all the ‘others’ come out of the woodwork very soon. They become visible by their support of the target…’

“One acts decisively only in the conviction that all the angels are on one side and all the devils on the other.”

Rule Number 13 from Alinsky’s “Rules For Radicals”

This is all Obama and his crew have. They have no real solutions, no new ideas. Obama is stuck trying to relive the failed Roosevelt years, using policies that took a bad recession and turned it into the Great Depression, and made recovery take years longer than it should have.

Obama is FDR on steriods, and without the charm and sophistication.

The democrat/communists haven’t had an original thought in almost a century.

They just keep on pushing those time honored big government ideas that have failed spectacularly since the beginning of time. And this Obamacare debacle is a true failure among failures. This thing will have the competency of the IRS, the efficiency of the Post Office, and the effectiveness of the Katrina recovery efforts.

So, instead of admitting failure, and sitting down with some adults to craft an honest plan, such as those that have been proposed by the Republicans, Obama just attacked everyone.

What was remarkable though, was Obama calling out Sarah Palin. Again, she is so far in his head he can’t resist, but just how pathetic is it to see the President of the United States, in the one of the most formal settings he can be in, have to resort whining and attacking a private citizen?

We all know the answer, of course. Sarah Palin is an actual leader, and Barry is not. Not even close. A lot of folks didn’t understand the logic behind Sarah’s decision to step down as Governor. I think now they understand.

Sarah had already delivered on every single campaign promise she made when she ran for office, and Obama’s Alaska Mafia had made it impossible for her to do her job. Besides costing her personally, the Obama surrogates had cost the Alaska taxpayers millions, and were on track to cost them more, with their continual filing of those bogus ethics complaints.

My guess is about now Obama is wishing he had left her alone to Govern Alaska in peace! Now she has nothing but time, time to take him to task on every move he makes.

Of course, Sarah is not one to let Alinsky style attacks by someone the likes of Obama to go unanswered. Sarah Palin has dealt with a lot tougher foes, and Chicago thug politics do not impress this gal. So last night after Obama’s glorified campaign speech, Sarah penned a scathing retort.

From Sarah’s Facebook Page:

Response to the President’s Health Care Speech

After all the rhetoric is put aside, one principle ran through President Obama’s speech tonight: that increased government involvement in health care can solve its problems.

Many Americans fundamentally disagree with this idea. We know from long experience that the creation of a massive new bureaucracy will not provide us with “more stability and security,” but just the opposite. It’s hard to believe the President when he says that this time he and his team of bureaucrats have finally figured out how to do things right if only we’ll take them at their word.

Our objections to the Democrats’ health care proposals are not mere “bickering” or “games.” They are not an attempt to “score short term political points.” And it’s hard to listen to the President lecture us not to use “scare tactics” when in the next breath he says that “more will die” if his proposals do not pass.

In his speech the President directly responded to concerns I’ve raised about unelected bureaucrats being given power to make decisions affecting life or death health care matters. He called these concerns “bogus,” “irresponsible,” and “a lie” — so much for civility. After all the name-calling, though, what he did not do is respond to the arguments we’ve made, arguments even some of his own supporters have agreed have merit.

In fact, after promising to “make sure that no government bureaucrat …. gets between you and the health care you need,” the President repeated his call for an Independent Medicare Advisory Council — an unelected, largely unaccountable group of bureaucrats charged with containing Medicare costs. He did not disavow his own statement that such a group, working outside of “normal political channels,” should guide decisions regarding that “huge driver of cost … the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives….” He did not disavow the statements of his health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, and continuing to pay his salary with taxpayer dollars proves a commitment to his beliefs. The President can keep making unsupported assertions, but until he directly responds to the arguments I’ve made, I’m going to call him out too.

It was heartening to hear the President finally recognize that tort reform is an important part of any solution. But this concession shouldn’t lead us to take our eye off the ball: the Democrats’ proposals will not reduce costs, and they will not deliver better health care. It’s this kind of “healthy skepticism of government” that truly reflects a “concern and regard for the plight of others.” We can’t wait to hear the details on that; we look forward to working with you on tort reform.

Finally, President Obama delivered an offhand applause line tonight about the cost of the War on Terror. As we approach the anniversary of the September 11th attacks and honor those who died that day and those who have died since in the War on Terror, in order to secure our freedoms, we need to remember their sacrifices and not demonize them as having had too high a price tag.

Remember, Mr. President, elected officials work for the people. Forcing a conclusion in order to claim a “victory” is not healthy for our country. We hear you say government isn’t always the answer; now hear us — that’s what we’ve been saying all along.

Sarah Palin Spanks Obama On The Eve Of His Big Dog And Pony Show With Congress

Sarah Palin hit Barack Obama and his crew with a double dose of good old common sense on Tuesday. She opened the day from her powerful Facebook page with a reprint of written testimony she has given the New York State Senate.

In her testimony, addressed to Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz, Chair, New York Senate Aging Committee, Sarah gives a point by point breakdown of what is wrong with the proposed Obamacare bill as well a stinging rebuke of our old buddy, Dr Ezekiel Emanuel, Dr Death to our readers.

She again lays out the case that Dr Death’s plans would ration health care and gives preferential treatment to people between the ages of 15 and 40 while rationing care, or depending on the circumstance, denying care to those younger than 15 or older than 40, such as the disabled.

Sarah also points out how this sudden acceptance of allowing the old to die before their time will lead to abuse.

Over in the United Kingdom, the National Health Service is an absolute mess. Conditions are unsanitary. Qualified doctors and nurses are in short supply. It is not uncommon for patients to go without food and water, sometimes drinking the water out of the plants in the room to stave off dehydration! And as simple symptoms of dehydration can cause a patient to mimic someone who is dying, for real, many patients who only need some water are basically left for dead!

Then there is this sort of thing that has happened to Rosemary Munkenbeck, whose father, Eric Troake, who entered hospital after suffering a stroke, had fluid and drugs withdrawn and she claims doctors wanted to put him on morphine until he passed away under a scheme for dying patients called the Liverpool Care Pathway

This of course, is Britain’s version of a death panel. Remember, a few shots of morphine are cheap compared to actually treating someone with a stroke, and doing things on the cheap is the priority, not actually treating patients.

You can read the whole story here.

For the complete footnoted transcript of Sarah’s written testimony to Senator Diaz, go here.

Of course, Sarah was just warming up with her Facebook posting. The real shot fired across Obama’s bow was an op-ed posted at the Wall Street Journal’s website, for the Wednesday print edition.

Here Sarah takes on the “Bureaucratization” of Obamacare.

The president’s proposals would give unelected officials life-and-death rationing powers.

Sarah Palin

We just went through the Van Jones debacle, so we know at least two things, for sure, about the Obama administration. One, Obama is all about appointing unelected, un-vetted, and unaccountable “Czars” to prominent positions of power. And two, every single one of these people we have looked at so far are complete and total loons!

Jones is a racist, cop hater, self avowed communist, and a 9/11 truther.

Dr Death believes in the Complete Lives System that uses formulas to determine who is worthy of health care, and who isn’t. Not only does he think the very old, and the very young are not as worthy as those “productive” to society, if you are disabled, well, I hope you have your burial insurance paid up, because you are fixin’ to meet up with Obama’s death panels!

Cass Sunstein, who Obama pretty much wants to allow to regulate every activity you do, thinks doctors should be able to harvest your organs when you die, at least I hope they wait that long, without your permission! Like most communists, Sunstein thinks the citizen is property of the state, for the ruling class to use as they see fit.

And this isn’t even the “weird” thing about Sunstein! He is also against hunting, fishing and all other manly-man activities, and wants to ban them. Now that is mainstream “progressive” communist. But the real punch line here is Cass wants to allow animals to sue humans in court!

Any animals that are entitled to bring suit would be represented by (human) counsel, who would owe guardian-like obligations and make decisions, subject to those obligations, on their clients’ behalf.

Cass Sunstein

Then we have John Holdren. This refugee from a bad science fiction movie thinks our Constitution would be OK with forced sterilizations and forced abortions for population control. I’m still pouring through my copy of the Constitution looking for the article and section that covers this!

Oh, and Holdren is also in favor of adding chemicals into the water supply to sterilize the population, as well. He wants both zero population and zero economic growth, worldwide. Just the guy to be working for the President when the economy is in the crapper!

If you want to know more about Obama’s “cream-of-the-crop” of modern scientific thought, try here.

You can bet Obama has plenty more men ,of equal quality to these, that will make up the Bureaucratization of Obamacare that Sarah Palin is talking about!

You have to really stop and ask yourself this: Do I really want a 9/11 truther, a crazy organ stealer and animal rights loon, someone who wants to sterilize me, forcibly, if necessary, or Dr Death, in charge of my health care?

From The Wall Street Journal:

Obama and the Bureaucratization of Health Care

By Sarah Palin

Writing in the New York Times last month, President Barack Obama asked that Americans “talk with one another, and not over one another” as our health-care debate moves forward.

I couldn’t agree more. Let’s engage the other side’s arguments, and let’s allow Americans to decide for themselves whether the Democrats’ health-care proposals should become governing law.

Some 45 years ago Ronald Reagan said that “no one in this country should be denied medical care because of a lack of funds.” Each of us knows that we have an obligation to care for the old, the young and the sick. We stand strongest when we stand with the weakest among us.

We also know that our current health-care system too often burdens individuals and businesses—particularly small businesses—with crippling expenses. And we know that allowing government health-care spending to continue at current rates will only add to our ever-expanding deficit.

How can we ensure that those who need medical care receive it while also reducing health-care costs? The answers offered by Democrats in Washington all rest on one principle: that increased government involvement can solve the problem. I fundamentally disagree.

Common sense tells us that the government’s attempts to solve large problems more often create new ones. Common sense also tells us that a top-down, one-size-fits-all plan will not improve the workings of a nationwide health-care system that accounts for one-sixth of our economy. And common sense tells us to be skeptical when President Obama promises that the Democrats’ proposals “will provide more stability and security to every American.”

With all due respect, Americans are used to this kind of sweeping promise from Washington. And we know from long experience that it’s a promise Washington can’t keep.

Let’s talk about specifics. In his Times op-ed, the president argues that the Democrats’ proposals “will finally bring skyrocketing health-care costs under control” by “cutting . . . waste and inefficiency in federal health programs like Medicare and Medicaid and in unwarranted subsidies to insurance companies . . . .”

First, ask yourself whether the government that brought us such “waste and inefficiency” and “unwarranted subsidies” in the first place can be believed when it says that this time it will get things right. The nonpartistan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) doesn’t think so: Its director, Douglas Elmendorf, told the Senate Budget Committee in July that “in the legislation that has been reported we do not see the sort of fundamental changes that would be necessary to reduce the trajectory of federal health spending by a significant amount.”

Now look at one way Mr. Obama wants to eliminate inefficiency and waste: He’s asked Congress to create an Independent Medicare Advisory Council—an unelected, largely unaccountable group of experts charged with containing Medicare costs. In an interview with the New York Times in April, the president suggested that such a group, working outside of “normal political channels,” should guide decisions regarding that “huge driver of cost . . . the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives . . . .”

Given such statements, is it any wonder that many of the sick and elderly are concerned that the Democrats’ proposals will ultimately lead to rationing of their health care by—dare I say it—death panels? Establishment voices dismissed that phrase, but it rang true for many Americans. Working through “normal political channels,” they made themselves heard, and as a result Congress will likely reject a wrong-headed proposal to authorize end-of-life counseling in this cost-cutting context. But the fact remains that the Democrats’ proposals would still empower unelected bureaucrats to make decisions affecting life or death health-care matters. Such government overreaching is what we’ve come to expect from this administration.

Speaking of government overreaching, how will the Democrats’ proposals affect the deficit? The CBO estimates that the current House proposal not only won’t reduce the deficit but will actually increase it by $239 billion over 10 years. Only in Washington could a plan that adds hundreds of billions to the deficit be hailed as a cost-cutting measure.

The economic effects won’t be limited to abstract deficit numbers; they’ll reach the wallets of everyday Americans. Should the Democrats’ proposals expand health-care coverage while failing to curb health-care inflation rates, smaller paychecks will result. A new study for Watson Wyatt Worldwide by Steven Nyce and Syl Schieber concludes that if the government expands health-care coverage while health-care inflation continues to rise “the higher costs would drive disposable wages downward across most of the earnings spectrum, although the declines would be steepest for lower-earning workers.” Lower wages are the last thing Americans need in these difficult economic times.

Finally, President Obama argues in his op-ed that Democrats’ proposals “will provide every American with some basic consumer protections that will finally hold insurance companies accountable.” Of course consumer protection sounds like a good idea. And it’s true that insurance companies can be unaccountable and unresponsive institutions—much like the federal government. That similarity makes this shift in focus seem like nothing more than an attempt to deflect attention away from the details of the Democrats’ proposals—proposals that will increase our deficit, decrease our paychecks, and increase the power of unaccountable government technocrats.

Instead of poll-driven “solutions,” let’s talk about real health-care reform: market-oriented, patient-centered, and result-driven. As the Cato Institute’s Michael Cannon and others have argued, such policies include giving all individuals the same tax benefits received by those who get coverage through their employers; providing Medicare recipients with vouchers that allow them to purchase their own coverage; reforming tort laws to potentially save billions each year in wasteful spending; and changing costly state regulations to allow people to buy insurance across state lines. Rather than another top-down government plan, let’s give Americans control over their own health care.

Democrats have never seriously considered such ideas, instead rushing through their own controversial proposals. After all, they don’t need Republicans to sign on: Democrats control the House, the Senate and the presidency. But if passed, the Democrats’ proposals will significantly alter a large sector of our economy. They will not improve our health care. They will not save us money. And, despite what the president says, they will not “provide more stability and security to every American.”

We often hear such overblown promises from Washington. With first principles in mind and with the facts in hand, tell them that this time we’re not buying it.

You are so right Sarah, this time the American people just aren’t buying it!

Ronald Reagan was fond of saying that government wasn’t the answer to a problem, that government was the problem.

Back in 1964 Ronald Reagan gave a speech at the Republican National Convention. It ranks up there as one of the greatest speeches of all time. The speech, entitled “A Time For Choosing”, is so iconic, it has become simply know as “The Speech!”

Personally, I think this speech should be taught in school. It should be required learning in order to get a diploma. I feel this video, coupled with Sarah’s hard hitting op-ed should be enough to help all Americans understand that we need to stop Obamacare, and Obama himself right in his tracks, and get on with the process of taking America back.

Ronald Reagan warned the nation back in 1964 of the perils associated with putting a democrat in elected office. Pretty much everything he warned against, has come true, with the expected consequences, because folks elected democrats.

During the 2008 election Sarah Palin warned over and over about the perils of electing Barack Obama. Her warnings went unheaded, and everything she warned us about is coming to pass.

This time, listen to what Sarah Palin is saying, and stop this massive government intrusion in our lives before it is too late. I’m not sure we are going to get many more chances to get it right!

Sarah Palin Continues To Help Shine The Light On Obama’s Corruption

Posted by Gary P Jackson on August 27, 2009

Sarah Palin has been on Obama’s case for some time, taking shots at him in almost every speech and TV interview since he took office. Sarah warned us about the dangers of electing Barack Obama, but unfortunately, 52 percent of the nation chose not to listen. Now 100 percent of the nation is suffering because of this severe error in judgment.

The problems are many, and real solutions, proven solutions that work, are AWOL in the Obama regime. Many have real questions why Obama and his democrat/communist party are seemingly, deliberately, allowing the economy to crash and burn, while at the same time running up unprecedented, and completely unsustainable debt.

Many wonder what the end game is.

Of course, for those paying attention, we have seen this coming for years. The left wing loons in this country have been overtly pushing for socialism for decades. Back in 1961 Ronald Reagan warned us about socialized medicine as the first step to a complete socialist nation where all liberty and freedom will be destroyed.

Well, Obama and his unconstitutional Czars are about to make Ronald Reagan’s upmost fears a reality. As we previously discussed, Obama has some serious anti-American radicals advising him and even writing important legislation, such as the stimulus bill.

We now know that Jeff Jones, a founding member, along with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, of the Weather Underground, is a member of the Apollo Alliance, the group that wrote the stimulus bill that absolutely no one in Congress read before passing, and Obama signed into law.

One man, Glenn Beck, has been all over Obama and his illegal and unconstitutional Czars.

Glenn Beck has been doing a series of discussions on the various Czars all this week, to record ratings, on his afternoon Fox News show.

For her part, earlier in the week, Sarah Palin urged her nearly 900,000 Facebook members to tune in to Becks popular and essential show:

“FOX News’ Glenn Beck is doing an extraordinary job this week walking America behind the scenes of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and outlining who is actually running the White House.

Monday night he asked us to invite one friend to watch; tonight I invite all my friends to watch.”

-Sarah Palin

This of course, only helps focus attention to the vital information that Glenn Beck has been giving America this week.

It’s also interesting to note that no one of any credibility is disputing what Beck or Sarah are saying about Obama’s corrupt organization.

Even the White House’s only complaint is that Glenn called one of Obama’s communist advisors a Czar, when in fact, this man had actually passed Senate confirmation. That was the White House’s only objection!

Of course, the main concern over all of the 30 some odd Czars, besides the fact that they are radical communists (most self admit this) is the fact that appointing these Czars, who are officially called “special advisers to the President,” is an end run around the Constitution, and the Senate’s role of advise and consent over the Presidential appointees to powerful positions.

As many of these Czars have criminal records as well as ties to radicals, such as domestic terrorists, there is no way in hell they would even receive a Senate hearing, let alone be confirmed.

So what Obama has done is set up an illegal shadow government, made up of unelected and unapproved advisers who are answerable only to Barack Obama. They have no accountability to the American people whatsoever. No allegiance to America, or the Constitution, just Obama.

This is NOT what the framers of our Constitution had in mind.

This is the biggest power grab in American history, in what amounts to a coup d’état by a bunch of radical communists.

The similarities between today, and Nazi Germany in the 1930’s are staggering. Hitler also usurped his nation’s constitution by appointing people without approval. Hitler only convened his cabinet one time, for show, and then relied on his version of Czars, to do his dirty work from then on.

Now is a good time to point out that I catch flack for calling these people communists and radicals, even though Van Johnson, Obama’s “green jobs” Czar describes HIMSELF as a “radical communist!”

I also catch hell for comparing Obama to Hitler. But if you can find a better historical parallel, by all means, please let me know. Hitler took over the banks, took over the car companies (the Volkswagen “Beetle” was his idea) and nationalized health care.

Hitler’s ideas on eugenics and thoughts on who “deserves” medical care and who doesn’t, fall right in line with those of Dr Ezekiel Emanuel, brother to Obama’s Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, and an adviser to Obama on health care.

Dr. Death, as we call him, and his extremist ideas that Obama and his thugs embrace wholeheartedly, are the basis for the “death panels” that Sarah Palin so poignantly spoke of.

So let me just insert a quote here from Abraham Lincoln:

“If you call a cow’s tail a leg, how many legs does she have?

Lincoln went on to explain that no matter what you choose to call a cow’s tail, it’s still a tail. So we can call what Obama is doing anything we want. Shoot, make up some hopey-changey sounding name like “rainbows and unicorns for everyone!” But that fact remains, this is communism, plain and simple and all of the sugar coating in the world won’t change that. It’s time to realize what we face, and tackle it head on.

Anything less is just insane, and very, very dangerous.

Now, on to Glenn Beck. Beck has been really doing the work no other TV journalist dares. He has been exposing all of those who advise Obama. There is not a sane one in the bunch!

Let’s start out with a primmer on this bunch as Glenn and Michelle Malkin discuss some of these people and how they were members of radical Marxist groups.

Someone very troubling involved with Obama is Jeff Jones, no relation to Van Jones.

Jeff Jones, as we mentioned above, along with Obama’s friend, Bill Ayers was the co-founder of the violent Weather Underground, a group of domestic terrorists who carried out bombings across the nation during their reign of terror, which included bombing the United States Capitol Building, and the Pentagon.

Please go here to meet Jeff Jones, a convicted felon, and a member of the Apollo Alliance, the group that wrote most, if not all of the stimulus package that Barack Obama pushed so hard for. So hard in fact, that no one in Congress was even given the time to read this monstrosity.

This is truly alarming stuff.

But let’s soldier on. The Apollo Alliance is made up of serious America hating radicals who worship men like Mao Tse Tung, and Che Guevara. Both mass murders in the name of communism.

Take time to read the info here and here, this will really make you sit up and take notice.

Glenn Beck’s latest chapter, in his week long discussion, is about Obama’s attempt to silence free speech in America. Now before you roll your eyes, let me remind you this is a thugacracy that urged everyday Americans to turn in other everyday Americans who were saying “fishy” (their words) things about Obamacare, and created flag@whitehouse.gov to facilitate this. So absolutely nothing should be considered too far fetched for this bunch!

Mark Lloyd is Obama’s FCC “diversity officer.” As you will see in the video below, he is a radical communist who laments that Hugo Chavez’s first attempt at setting up a communist dictatorship in Venezuela was thwarted by “enemies” in the United States government who aided the free radio stations in Venezuela and kept an open line of communication out there between the peoples of that once free nation.

That’s right, this Lloyd character actually calls AMERICA, the “enemy!”

Are you kidding me?

Insert unnecessarily long, multi-syllable curse word filled rant here:__________

As Beck and Rush Limbaugh explain, the plan isn’t to use the so-called “Fairness Doctrine” to silence talk radio. They plan to use various laws concerning “local content’ to force national talk radio stars, Like Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Mark Levin off the air, while at the same time funding National Public Radio which is no more than a propaganda arm of the democrat/communist party!

Of course, if those on the left had actual ideas Americans wanted to hear, they would be successful. But in the history of talk radio, which was pioneered by Rush Limbaugh, there has never been a really successful left wing talker. They only exist on government funded radio, and the perennially bankrupt Air America.

With over 20 million listeners weekly, it’s obvious that Americans like what Rush Limbaugh is selling, and that aggravates the democrat/communists to no end. You see, they can’t compete in the marketplace of ideas, because their ideas are unpopular, and unwanted. Rather than actually come up with ideas though, they’d rather just shut down all debate!

Watch as Glenn And Rush discuss this:

Sarah Palin warned Americans of the dangers of electing Barack Obama as she campaigned for Vice President. The left wing kooks lost their minds, of course, and attacked her as an extremist, but as we are seeing, Sarah was right on the money, as usual.
Now I can’t read Obama’s mind. He is certainly not the brilliant man, but he is smart enough to not openly talk about communism as strongly as all of those he continually appoints to his team of ever growing numbers of illegal and unconstitutional Czars.

But it is not unreasonable to judge a man by the company that he keeps.

Barack Obama was mentored by radical communist Frank Marshall Davis, from the tender age of 10 years old. Obama himself writes in his book that he sought out the radicals in College. He states that he purposely sought out Marxist professors.

Barack Obama served on two “education” foundations with violent domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and launched his political career in Ayers and wife, felon Bernardine Dohrn’s living room.

Barack Obama was a thug organizer for ACORN, teaching the finer techniques of radical communist and America hater Saul Alinsky’s “Rules For Radicals,” a book Alinsky dedicated to Lucifer (the devil) who he called “the first radical”

Barack Obama has already dispatched union thugs from the Service Employees Union International, which was founded by the same men who founded ACORN, to attack American citizens at townhalls who dare disagree with Obamacare. (Again, go study 1930’s Germany for comparisons)

As we wrote earlier, Barack Obama has sent out union thugs, through Facebook, to attack Sarah Palin and all of those who support her through that social network, running advertisements containing outright lies about her.

Again, this is nothing more than an attempt to intimidate those who dare disagree with the “Dear Leader” Obama!

A group that Van Jones, Obama’s “green jobs” Czar, an admitted “radical communist” (his words) is involved with is behind the unsuccessful boycott of Glenn Beck’s show.

To show you just how intolerant the left wing communist radicals are in this country, look at the latest attempt to silence free speech and free thought:

Whole Foods is a liberal nirvana. They sell overpriced, but very toney, organic and “green” groceries. The Austin, Texas based store is one of the best run out there, and has bought completely into the so-called “progressive” lifestyle.

This is a company that embraces every left wing style of management. And yet, it’s a great place to work. Most notably, Whole Foods has an incredible health care program it offers to it’s employees. It is truly a blueprint for a free market solution to the nationwide healthcare debate.

So Whole Foods CEO, John Mackey wrote an op-ed that laid out his ideas for a nationwide healthcare plan. Now since this was based on common sense, and actually works, it is totally different from anything resembling Obamacare.

So what has happened?

Well since Mr Mackey had the temerity to go against the wishes of the “Dear Leader, ” Obama, his company, which gives money to every left wing cause imaginable, is under siege!

There is a nationwide boycott being organized by communist radicals, some with ties to the Apollo Alliance, and as I’m writing this, I am learning that a group of labor unions are demanding Mr Mackey, the CEO to be fired!

As powerful and dangerous as the labor unions are in this nation, this sort of thing should have every America sitting up and taking notice. The tactics being used by the left are right out of the play books of communist and socialist despots worldwide. Hitler, Mao, Lenin, Stalin, Castro, Chavez and others have successfully used these methods throughout history to destroy liberty and freedom, and set themselves up as absolute rulers of whole populations.

Is this what Obama is angling for?

I honestly don’t know.

But it is certainly something the radical left wing communists that work for Obama espouse. They would love nothing more than to silence all dissent and rule over you and I with an iron fist.

These are very dangerous times. Glennn Beck and Sarah Palin are warning you to wake up and smell the coffee! It’s time to get involved. To sit up and demand Obama fire all of these Czars, or else.

It’s time to rally around solid conservative candidates for office, from dog catcher to President of the United States! No more democrat/communists, and no more squishy “moderate” Republicans who simply serve as enablers to the democrat/communists. We need people who understand and revere the Constitution of the United States.

We must never settle for anything less ever again.

These are very dangerous times, and if we don’t get a handle on this, America will cease to exist as we know it. The shining light of freedom will forever go dark.

So go to the tea parties and townhalls. Demand satisfaction from those in elected office. And be silent no more!

Sarah Palin To Barack Obama: No Health Care Reform Without Legal Reform.

Posted by Gary P Jackson on August 21, 2009

Sarah Palin has just hit on the one issue Obama and his death cult do not want to discuss, and that is tort reform. Out of control lawsuits, sky high malpractice insurance, and doctors running more tests than needed, just to cover their tails, is all part of the single largest expense in American health care that can easily be remedied.

Tort reform is key. To “fix” healthcare, without major tort reform, would be like going in to do open heart surgery on someone, but not actually working on the heart!

We all know the stories of the trial lawyers who have gotten rich with bogus lawsuits. One of the most egregious practitioners of these phony baloney lawsuits is newly minted baby daddy John Edwards. Edwards became a multi-millionaire ambulance chaser by specializing in suing on behalf of children with cerebral palsy.

Edwards, a shyster deluxe, even went so far to “channel” unborn babies during his courtroom antics. Thanks to this one unscrupulous attorney, malpractice insurance went through the roof, many doctors quit their specialties, or went bankrupt.

But even worse, cases of cesarean birth dramatically increased, as Edwards used his greed, and junk science to convince people that natural childbirth was the culprit and cause of all of these cases of cerebral palsy.

Now besides the extra costs involved, having a cesarean birth is dangerous for the mother, as infections can easily set in, and of course, recovery is longer. But who cares, John Edwards sure has a nice house, doesn’t he!

This is just one guy who cost hospitals, doctors, and insurance companies hundreds of millions of dollars during his career. There are lawyers like him all over the country just waiting for their next payday.

Turn on the television. If you watch for any length of time, you will see dozens of ads from big law firms actively seeking defendants for all sorts of cases. Not saying all of them are bogus, but when you see people resorting to advertising nationally for victims, you have to wonder just how big the problem truly is or isn’t, and conclude it’s all about the Benjamins!

Of course, another issue people overlook in this, is the fact that lawyers are so busy chasing high profile, big paydays, that many cases that are real get shoved aside because they won’t make the attorney a huge payday. Small cases don’t add a new wing to the family compound!

As a Texan, I can say that tort reform works. Texas passed major tort reform years ago, capping damages one could get for “pain and suffering.” They also beefed the medical boards to investigate doctors suspected of having issues.

The result? As Sarah points out, thousands of doctors have moved to Texas. This has had a huge impact, especially in rural areas. Where there were once shortages of doctors, now there is coverage.

I live in a hospital town, we are home to a hospital that started out in a log cabin, which is still on the grounds, that has grown into a regional system of hospitals and clinics, and even has it’s own health care insurance plan.

Seeing a doctor here is an easy, very friendly process. Even though the complex is huge, the effort is to make sure every patient has their own regular doctor who is able to meet their needs. Very user friendly.

It is also a teaching hospital and is part of the Texas A&M system.

This is what happens when government is responsible, then gets out of the way.

I agree with Sarah Palin 100% on tort reform. For Barack Obama and the rest of his communist party to talk about “health care reform” without tort reform is beyond ridiculous, and it borders on criminal.

Of course, we all know that actually “reforming” health care is the last thing on these people’s minds. This is all a big power grab, and an attempt to completely usurp the Constitution of the United States. Anyone who has actually read HR 3200 knows that monstrosity is nothing more than a gateway to a complete communist state. It is a liberty and freedom stealing document that needs to be burned!

Lets get serious and get behind Sarah Palin. No tort reform, no health care bill.

Here is Sarah’s statement from Facebook:

No Health Care Reform Without Legal Reform:

President Obama’s health care “reform” plan has met with significant criticism across the country. Many Americans want change and reform in our current health care system. We recognize that while we have the greatest medical care in the world, there are major problems that we must face, especially in terms of reining in costs and allowing care to be affordable for all. However, as we have seen, current plans being pushed by the Democratic leadership represent change that may not be what we had in mind — change which poses serious ethical concerns over the government having control over our families’ health care decisions. In addition, the current plans greatly increase costs of health care, while doing lip service toward controlling costs.

We need to address a REAL bipartisan reform proposition that will have REAL impacts on costs, and quality of patient care.

As Governor of Alaska, I learned a little bit about being a target for frivolous suits and complaints (Please, do I really need to footnote that?). I went my whole life without needing a lawyer on speed-dial, but all that changes when you become a target for opportunists and people with no scruples. Our nation’s health care providers have been the targets of similar opportunists for years, and they too have found themselves subjected to false, frivolous, and baseless claims. To quote a former president, “I feel your pain.”

So what can we do? First, we cannot have health care reform without tort reform. The two are intertwined. For example, one supposed justification for socialized medicine is the high cost of health care. As Dr. Scott Gottlieb recently noted, “If Mr. Obama is serious about lowering costs, he’ll need to reform the economic structures in medicine—especially programs like Medicare.” [1] Two examples of these “economic structures” are high malpractice insurance premiums foisted on physicians (and ultimately passed on to consumers as “high health care costs”) and the billions wasted on defensive medicine.

Dr. Stuart Weinstein, with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, recently explained the problem:

“The medical liability crisis has had many unintended consequences, most notably a decrease in access to care in a growing number of states and an increase in healthcare costs.

Access is affected as physicians move their practices to states with lower liability rates and change their practice patterns to reduce or eliminate high-risk services. When one considers that half of all neurosurgeons—as well as one third of all orthopedic surgeons, one third of all emergency physicians, and one third of all trauma surgeons—are sued each year, is it any wonder that 70 percent of emergency departments are at risk because they lack available on-call specialist coverage?” [2]

Dr. Weinstein makes good points, points completely ignored by President Obama. Dr. Weinstein details the costs that our out-of-control tort system are causing the health care industry and notes research that “found that liability reforms could reduce defensive medicine practices, leading to a 5 percent to 9 percent reduction in medical expenditures without any effect on mortality or medical complications.” Dr. Weinstein writes:

“If the Kessler and McClellan estimates were applied to total U.S. healthcare spending in 2005, the defensive medicine costs would total between $100 billion and $178 billion per year. Add to this the cost of defending malpractice cases, paying compensation, and covering additional administrative costs (a total of $29.4 billion). Thus, the average American family pays an additional $1,700 to $2,000 per year in healthcare costs simply to cover the costs of defensive medicine.

Excessive litigation and waste in the nation’s current tort system imposes an estimated yearly tort tax of $9,827 for a family of four and increases healthcare spending in the United States by $124 billion. How does this translate to individuals? The average obstetrician-gynecologist (OB-GYN) delivers 100 babies per year. If that OB-GYN must pay a medical liability premium of $200,000 each year (which is the rate in Florida), $2,000 of the delivery cost for each baby goes to pay the cost of the medical liability premium.” [3]

You would think that any effort to reform our health care system would include tort reform, especially if the stated purpose for Obama’s plan to nationalize our health care industry is the current high costs.

So I have new questions for the president: Why no legal reform? Why continue to encourage defensive medicine that wastes billions of dollars and does nothing for the patients? Do you want healthcare reform to benefit trial attorneys or patients?

Many states, including my own state of Alaska, have enacted caps on lawsuit awards against health care providers. Texas enacted caps and found that one county’s medical malpractice claims dropped 41 percent, and another study found a “55 percent decline” after reform measures were passed. [4] That’s one step in health care reform. Limiting lawyer contingency fees, as is done under the Federal Tort Claims Act, is another step.

The State of Alaska pioneered the “loser pays” rule in the United States, which deters frivolous civil law suits by making the loser partially pay the winner’s legal bills. Preventing quack doctors from giving “expert” testimony in court against real doctors is another reform.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry noted that, after his state enacted tort reform measures, the number of doctors applying to practice medicine in Texas “skyrocketed by 57 percent” and that the tort reforms “brought critical specialties to underserved areas.” These are real reforms that actually improve access to health care. [5]

Dr. Weinstein’s research shows that around $200 billion per year could be saved with legal reform. That’s real savings. That’s money that could be used to build roads, schools, or hospitals.

If you want to save health care, let’s listen to our doctors too. There should be no health care reform without legal reform. There can be no true health care reform without legal reform.

Forget POTUS and TOTUS The Real Power In America is LOTUS!

Posted by Gary P Jackson on August 20, 2009

If you are even partially politically aware in this country, or saw the pilot episode of The West Wing, you know that POTUS stands for President of the United States. Kind of insider speak, if you will.

Now with our current President, we have been introduced to TOTUS, the Teleprompter of the United States. Anyone who has seen President Barack Obama speak both with the aid of TOTUS, and without his trusted friend by his side, knows that the tails TOTUS weaves on his blog, which you can read here, are true! Without TOTUS, Barack Obama is mostly a rambling, barely intelligible speaker, as shown here and here.

There is a lot of pressure on TOTUS, as well. Twice this year TOTUS has attempted to end it all as can be seen here and here. Though Allahpundit over at Hot Air thinks it might be something more nefarious.

But as we have found out, the real power in America lies not in POTUS or TOTUS, but in LOTUS, the Laptop of the United States!

Now unlike TOTUS, LOTUS does not take credit for being her owner’s actual brain.

No way!

You see The Laptop of the United States belongs to Sarah Palin!

LOTUS fully realizes she is a mere tool for Sarah Palin to rule the world with!

Sarah Palin recently used LOTUS to completely set the health care debate on it’s ear!

As we talked about here, here, and here, Sarah and used her straight shooting style to put Barack Obama on the complete defensive over his incredibly sinister plan to destroy the American health care system and have the government take control of a huge segment of our economy.

As Ronald Reagan spoke of way back in 1961, socializing the health care in a nation is the first step to becoming a full on communist state. We know Barack Obama was born and raised a Saul Alinsky style communist, someone who thinks America is an evil country and must be changed. So trying to destroy the American health care system with a communist plan of “socialized medicine” is just par for the course for this guy.

As Sarah Palin has already said, Obamacare is pure evil!

Obamacare must be stopped.

Thankfully, armed with her powerful Laptop of the United States, Sarah Palin will keep a close watch on Barack Obama and continue to call him out every time he tries to destroy the greatest nation the world has ever know with one of his insane schemes!

Her latest effort was to employ LOTUS to talk about Obama’s plan to send billions of taxpayer dollars to Brazil so they can drill for oil offshore. Of course, Obama, his Chicago thugs, and the eviro-nuts, go insane if you talk about drilling for oil in our country.

You can read Sarah’s latest comments here.

We have also found that Barack Obama’s best buddy, and puppet master, George Soros has invested over $800 million dollars in the very company that Obama is sending billions of our tax dollars to!

We’ll have more on this in the days to come.

But if you would like to follow LOTUS, the Laptop of the United States, you can get the inside story by reading her blog here.
