Palin: Day 4 of “Good Tidings and Great Joy” Book Tour 11/15/13 (Updated)

Posted by Jackie Siciliano on November 15, 2013

FtC1_11_1115Today Gov. Sarah Palin’s “Good Tidings and Great Joy” book tour took her  to Ft. Campbell, KY and Ft. Benning, GA.  It’s evident that Palin has a deep respect and love for those that serve in our nation’s military.  I’ve been fortunate to hear Gov. Palin speak in person on numerous occasions and each time she has requested that those serving, or those who have served, to please stand and be recognized at which time, Palin thanks them for their service and sacrifice.  Is it any wonder that they appreciate her?  I had a thought earlier today– how many of those that she met today leaned over and whispered “I wish you were our commander-in-chief”.  I’d be willing to bet it happened more than a few times.

Gov. Palin posted an album of 11 photos from Ft. Campbell here.  I’m going to go out on a limb in declaring this photo as the best photo of the tour even though this is only the fourth day.  I would LOVE to hear this little girl’s story because she certainly seems very excited to be sharing it with Gov. Palin!

FtC2_13_1115

Gov. Palin also posted a note of thanks to Ft. Campbell on her Facebook page:

Thank you, Fort Campbell! God bless our active duty military and their families! This evening we’re on our way to Fort Benning where my son went to boot camp/infantry training years ago. Very excited to thank the troops here in Georgia as well!

You can find the first leg of the “Good Tidings and Great Joy Tour” here.

The Ft. Benning signing was scheduled to end at 8:00 p.m.  I’ll update this blog entry once more information is available.

UPDATE:

Gov. Palin posted two entries to her Facebook page from the Ft. Benning, GA book signing.  In the first entry, she thanked Ft. Benning for hosting her by writing as follows:

Great folks at Fort Benning – we honor you! Thanks for taking the time to visit with us last night. We were inspired by the brave warriors and incredibly supportive families we got to meet. For your service and for sacrificing so much to preserve our freedoms – you are heroes. And we’re now in Naples, Florida, today looking forward to meeting more Southerners!

Sarah Palin spent another day greeting supporters and signing “Good Tidings and Great Joy” in Wausau, WI.  Perhaps the most interesting story of the day is that Walmart had 700 books on hand and it’s being reported that the store sold out.  In fact, Breitbart has  confirmed that Sam’s Club as well as Barnes and Noble sold their complete inventory too! Special note: Gov. Palin also shared this article on her Facebook page.

From Breitbart’s Kevin Scholla:

When former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin went to Wausau, Wisconsin on Thursday, the whole city sold out of her new book, Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas. Palin held a book signing at the local Walmart, where a line snaked around the gigantic store (see video below) for the sold out book. Breitbart News has confirmed the town’s Sam’s Club and Barnes & Noble also sold out all their copies of her new book as well yesterday.

At Walmart, Palin greeted a multitude of well-wishers and signed book after book. Just like her Bethlehem, PA stop, she stayed late because of an abundance of supporters. She may have stayed later if not for one very relevant detail. According to a Walmart official, the store ran out of books.

Walmart wasn’t alone. The entire town of Wausau was cleaned out. A Harper Collins source told Breitbart News that along with Walmart, Wausau’s Sam’s Club and Barnes & Noble had also sold all of their copies. The stores have confirmed that all their books were sold. More

Gov. Palin posted an album of pictures 13 pictures from the Wausau signing to her Facebook page.  You’ll immediately notice how engaged she is with her supporters.  You’ll also notice that Palin rises to greet members of our nation’s military and its veterans.  (See above photo.)

The Wisconsin Rapids Tribune published the following article and provided a short video:

RIB MOUNTAIN — Carrie Kolbeck traveled all the to way to Fairbanks, Alaska, four years ago just to get a chance to hear her political hero, Sarah Palin, speak.

So when the Wausau woman heard the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate was coming to town while on a book tour, Kolbeck immediately made plans for a second meeting.

“She just believes in standing up for religious freedom, and that is a big deal to us,” said Kolbeck, 37. “I’m glad for her strength and courage. She’s a very brave woman.”

You can read the rest of the Wisconsin Rapids Tribune article and view the video here.

Gov. Palin also shared her own video (complete with cheery Christmas music) of the many people that were waiting in a line that seemed to snake through every department of Wal-Mart.  The message that accompanied the video is as follows:

Thank you, Wausau! It was great to visit with so many patriots yesterday. Thank you for letting me wish you a Merry Christmas!

The Wausau Daily has published a photo gallery here

The Wisconsin Free published this article on Palin’s book tour with an interesting quote.

One observer noted, “877 people signed up for Obamacare in the first 6 weeks. Almost as many showed up to see Sarah Palin as signed up for Obamacare.”

Day 4 will take Palin to Ft. Campbell, KY and Ft. Benning, GA.  The book  tour schedule is available here.

Palin: Day 2 of “Good Tidings and Great Joy” Book Tour 11/13/13

Posted by Jackie Siciliano on November 14, 2013

Day  2 of the “Good Tidings and Great Joy” book tour was filled with two book signings (Columbus, Ohio and Grand Rapids, Michigan), multiple Facebook posts from   Gov. Palin as well as countless media reports on both her interviews and the book signing events themselves. Here’s a few highlights.

First stop of the day was Barnes and Noble in Columbus.  Gov. Palin shared the following picture and message:

Columbus1_13_1113

Thank you to the beautiful people of Columbus, Ohio! It was wonderful and inspiring getting to meet all of you today. And thank you to the great staff at Barnes & Noble.

Twelve additional photos from the Columbus signing here.

Later in the day it was on to Grand Rapids where Gov. Palin was honored by a WWII vet.  Keep reading to learn more.  From Palin’s Facebook page:

What an honor! This photo from the Grand Rapids book signing is of a wonderful 95-year-old World War II vet who gave me a signed copy of HIS own book!

Thank you to all the great folks in Grand Rapids who came out tonight for the book signing. It’s always great to connect with Michiganders! And thank you to the great staff at Barnes & Noble. The “Good Tidings and Great Joy” book tour continues tomorrow in Wausau, WI. For information on all the upcoming book tour stops, please click here:

WZZM published the following on Palin’s Woodland Mall stop:

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) — Even if she is out of politics, Sarah Palin still commands an audience wherever she goes.

The 2008 republican vice presidential candidate was in West Michigan Wednesday evening to promote her hew book, ‘Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas.’

A large crowd formed at Woodland Mall for a chance to meet the former Alaska governor. The book signing event began at 6 p.m. at Barnes and Noble.

“We heard that she was coming and it was the perfect opportunity to meet her finally and see her,” said fan K.C. Borman.

The line to meet Palin was long, fostering a sense of togetherness for republicans, some of whom feel their party is fractured. “You don’t have a whole lot of that one-team kind of thing. There are different perspectives and this does give us the feeling of teaming,” said Don Piskulovich. More

And at the end of the day, something to bring a smile to your face.
From Palin’s Facebook page:

Captured “Glam Palinesque” dinner on the road. Our book tour includes as many quick stops as possible. Here we follow our daughter Willow’s lead in ordering dinner in a fine east coast gas station — love it! Love the friendly folks who work there!

Palin: Day 1 of “Good Tidings and Great Joy” Book Tour 11/12/13 (Updated)

Posted by Jackie Siciliano on November 12, 2013

Bethlehem1

Governor Sarah Palin kicked off her “Good Tidings and Great Joy” book tour in Bethlehem, PA earlier this evening where well over 700 supporters bought books and was able to take their place in line to have them signed.  Lynn Olanoff of LehighValleyLive.com published the following:

Sarah Palin’s Bethlehem Township, Pa., book signing drew more than 700 people to the local Barnes & Noble tonight.

The 2008 Republican vice presidential running mate and Tea Party star greeted her fans warmly, asking children what grade they were in school and offering advice to one woman who was soon traveling to her home state of Alaska, where she served as governor.

Palin didn’t pose for pictures or sign any personal messages in her new book, “Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas,” but that seemed to bother few who attended the two-hour event.

“She’s a doll,” said Williams Township resident Mary Hazuka, who came to the store at 6:30 this morning to secure No. 47 in line. Hazuka, who bought a total of four books, said she was pleasantly surprised to see Palin’s husband, Todd, beside her in the store.

“We didn’t know her husband was going to be here,” Hazuka said. “That was a plus.”

Palin specifically requested to start the tour for her Christmas book in the Bethlehem area, a local Barnes & Noble employee said last week. The store was selling Palin’s book today for 20 percent off the $22.99 list price.

“You are the very, very first recipients of our whole book tour,” Palin said to the initial crowd.

Shoppers were given the option of buying Palin’s book — which went on sale nationwide today — earlier in the day, obtaining a numbered wristband and then returning for the 6 p.m. signing. The store, located in Southmont Shopping Center on Freemansburg Avenue, opened an hour early today to accommodate the crowds.

Long line by 8 a.m.

Some eager book purchasers were already outside when the first store employees arrived at 6 a.m. By 8 a.m., there was a line outside stretching past the adjacent Pier 1 Imports.

One out-of-town visitor told Palin she woke up at 1:30 a.m. to come see her.

“Well, welcome to our world!” said Palin, who added that she’s constantly traveling at odd hours.

Palmer Township resident Taryn Gilbert also showed up about 6:30 this morning to secure No. 33 in line. Gilbert, who attended with her mother, Gina, said their family traveled to many of Palin’s Pennsylvania campaign stops in 2008.

“We were always in the front row. She said she remembered us,” said Taryn Gilbert, who along with her four siblings comprise the local group Sing for America. The family all wore red sweaters to Palin’s campaign stops in 2008, Gilbert said.

Palin was last in the Lehigh Valley in October 2008 for a campaign rally with running mate John McCain at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem.

Tonight, she wore her signature rimless glasses and a custom-made sweatshirt with an emblem stating, “It’s OK to wish me a Merry Christmas!” Palin’s new book — her third — advocates bringing back the religious spirit of Christmas.

Palin’s first book, “Going Rogue,” was a New York Times bestseller. Her new book was ranked No. 34 among Amazon’s bestsellers at 7 tonight.  More

You’ll find a great picture gallery there as well!

Earlier in the day there was a plethora of media attention given to the newly released “Good Tidings and Great Joy, Protecting the Heart of Christmas”.

Palin: “Good Tidings and Great Joy” Media Blitz Roundup for 11/11/13 (Updated)

Posted by Jackie Siciliano on November 11, 2013

Good_tidings_cover
“Good Tidings and Great Joy” is set for release tomorrow, November 12th, and Governor Sarah Palin spent the day promoting her new book.  It started with the “Today Show” where she was interviewed by Matt Lauer.

From Today.com:

Sarah Palin had harsh words for Obamacare on Monday — and the GOP’s chances in 2016 didn’t fare much better in her opinion.

“I would never put my faith and hope in any one individual politician,’’
Palin said after Matt Lauer asked her about New Jersey Governor Chris
Christie, a favorite in the field, on TODAY. “Not any of them. There is
no Ronald Reagan on the scene today. If he were on the scene, that’s who
I would put my faith in.

“New Jersey, a blue state, has a Republican governor. Right on; it beats the alternative.”

Christie, who was re-elected governor by a large margin last week, got a vote of
support for 2016 from former presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Meet the Press, who said that Christie could save the Republican party.

Last week in an interview, Christie called the federal government shutdown
engineered by Republican Senator Ted Cruz and members of the Tea Party
“a monumental failure.”

“When you stand in the middle of the road, you’re going to get hit on both sides of the road,’’ Palin said. “We need to take a stand, especially on this Obamacare, and support
those who are just fulfilling their campaign promises. So many politicians ran for reelection and for election saying they would do anything in their power to de-fund the state of socialized medicine program called Obamacare. Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, some of these guys were actually fulfilling their campaign promises and they ask for debate.
That’s why they stood up. They took the stand, (and) fought for us to debate the issue of Obamacare.”  More

Later in the day, Rush Limbaugh had this to say about how Palin handled Lauer.

Shortly after the Today Show interview, Gov. Palin shared some great photos on her Facebook page as she met with veterans. Additional photos here and here.

Vets_nyc

Sarah Palin then joined Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb of NBC’s ‘Today’ to talk about her new book which not only discusses the heart of Christmas but also very personal stories along with recipes.

h/t RightSightings

This evening Sarah Palin was a guest on Mark Levin’s radio show.  In my opinion it was the best interview of the day and it’s evident that there’s a deep mutual respect between these two patriots.

h/t iizthatiiz

Palin is scheduled to appear with Sean Hannity tonight.  This blog entry will be updated with that appearance once the video becomes available.

Reminder, the book tour starts tomorrow in Bethlehem, PA!

UPDATE:

Gov. Palin appeared with Sean Hannity at which time they covered a range of topics including book “Good Tidings and Great Joy”, Gov. Chris Christie and the planks of the Republican party, our “ShamWow” president, Obamacare, and the importance of protecting the hearts of Christmas and America.

Palin Book Tour to Begin in Bethlehem, PA

Posted by Jackie Siciliano on November 5, 2013

facebookpromo13_1105

From Sarah Palin’s Facebook page:

Tomorrow we will announce the details of our upcoming “Good Tidings and Great Joy” book tour scheduled to start November 12th in the beautifully named Bethlehem, PA. This book is not about isolated trivialities. It’s not really just about gingerbread cookies, or stockings hung by the chimney with care, or the big fat man with the long white beard. It’s not about one holiday at all. It’s about that little baby wrapped in swaddling clothes who arrived long before hope and change became political manipulations. It’s about Christ and our ability to worship Him freely. It’s about America, and what liberty truly means in our day-to-day lives. It’s an empowering message that can change your life and help rebuild what is GOOD in this world! I am beyond excited to share this unique book with you and your loved ones. You can pre-order “Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas” here:

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Good-Tidings-Great-Joy-Protecting/dp/0062292889/ref=tmm_hrd_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1381255547&sr=1-3

Barnes & Noble: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/good-tidings-and-great-joy-palin-sarah/1116988729?ean=9780062315656

I can’t wait to hear from you as we apply this positive message to our everyday living and commit to ignoring the “political correctness” that would lead us to do otherwise!

Sincerely,

Sarah Palin

Heaths End Lower 48 Book Tour: ‘We’ll See You on Down the Trail’

Posted by Adrienne Ross on October 11, 2012

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

Chuck Heath, Sr. and Chuck, Jr. encountered family and friends at many of the Our Sarah book tour locations, and every where they went they made others feel like family and friends. Now, this adventure in the Lower 48 has come to an end. They have had the experience of a lifetime, and we have certainly enjoyed vicariously accompanying them on every stop. After a schedule that took them to a plethora of states, the last of which was Washington State, the Heaths are headed back to the great state of Alaska. I miss them already.

Chuck Jr. journals on Facebook:

This is a picture from our signing tonight. These are some of our relatives that showed up: Greg and Brandi Jones, Kate and Tom Johnson… not pictured are my Uncle Ron and Aunt Colleen Jones. We also had friends show up from as far away as our old hometown of Skagway, Alaska (thanks Fred and Kathy Hosford).

This is a bittersweet post for us. We just finished our final book signing in the Lower 48, here in Richland, Washington. Dad and I are physically and mentally exhausted from three weeks on the road. We’ve crossed the country, met some incredible people, done over fifty interviews, and along the way, we’ve become closer as father and son than ever before (even though there have definitely been times when we wanted to strangle each other). After all of our adventures, a big part of us doesn’t want it to end. We still want to get out to other places to share our adventures in Alaska and our time with Sarah, but we have families that we miss very much waiting patiently for us at home.

We’re not completely done, though. We will be returning to Alaska late tomorrow night, and then we’ll head out to Wasilla, Friday, to do another interview with Fox and Friends (from Sarah’s little studio) at 3:00am! If you watch it Saturday morning, I’ll be the guy with the dark bags under my eyes and dad will be the guy mumbling incoherently beside me. Just joking dad… sort of.

Today was a very busy day for us. Besides the book signing in Richland, we also did three radio and two television interviews. They all seemed to go well, but you never know how they’ll come across. We also had dinner with my uncle, Ron Jones, his wife, Colleen, and his son Greg and wife Brandi. As usual, our time with family was too short.

I just want you guys that are following us to know how much we appreciate you. Your comments gave us the fuel we needed to keep going when we were bone-tired. My favorite part has been hearing from people at the book signings that have actually read the book and told me how much they enjoyed it. That’s so nice to hear. I know that dad and I are not a couple of Tolstoys, and we didn’t pretend to try to be like that when we wrote the book. We wanted to tell our stories in the same way we relate them orally to our friends.

We’ll keep plugging along and we’ll try to get our book in people’s hands, despite getting little or no help from the mainstream media. Besides the stories about Alaska and Sarah, everyone should hear the stories about the way the media can try to destroy a good person’s character.

Thank you again for all your support, and at the request of a lot of you out there, we’ll keep posting entries from Alaska, just not as many.

As dad always says when leaving his friends, “We’ll see you on down the trail.”

Chuck

CDA Press Covers Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Our Sarah Book Signing

Posted by Adrienne Ross on October 9, 2012

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

The Our Sarah book tour received complimentary coverage as father and son, Chuck Heath, Sr. and Chuck, Jr., returned to a place where they have deep roots: Idaho.

In an article called “Sold on Sarah,” CDA Press reports on the Heaths’ address to the crowd and comments from those assembled at the Hastings Bookstore in Coeur d’Alene. Here are a few excerpts:

Karen White had one reason for being among the first in line Monday night to listen to Sarah Palin’s father and brother pitch their book, “Our Sarah: Made in Alaska.”

“Because I like Sarah Palin,” the Coeur d’Alene woman said, holding two copies of the $24.99 hardback written by Chuck Heath Sr. and Chuck Heath Jr.

White bought one for herself and one for a friend, and had both autographed by Sarah’s dad and brother.

“They’re down-to-earth people,” she said.

About 50 folks gathered at the Hastings store on Best Avenue to hear from the Heaths during one of their stops on a nationwide book tour.

The Chucks chatted for 45 minutes about faith, politics, the media and Sarah, of course – but not too much – because they’ve got a book to sell and sign that offers “intimate stories from Sarah’s life along with a celebration of growing up in and sharing all that Alaska means to Sarah and her family.”

They laughed often – “Anybody that calls me Mr. Palin, I charge them a dollar. I could be rich on that,” Heath Sr. said, grinning.

But they also often expressed frustration with the media they accused of twisting words and making up stories about Sarah Palin and her family.

“Most of the stuff written about us is totally untrue,” Chuck Jr. said.

“You guys that know her personally, she is as regular as anybody you will ever meet,” he added.

“We look at ourselves as just a common, ordinary family,” said Chuck Heath Sr., who grew up in Hope and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1956. “We are not political. Where Sarah got this political ambition, we really don’t know.”

He said he also doesn’t know his daughter’s game plan.

“We don’t know what she’s going to do tomorrow. She’s very unpredictable. You’ll be seeing her again, I guarantee that,” he said.

He said Sarah only cares about what’s best for the people.

“She’s still that way. She’s not loyal to one party or another. It’s get a job done and let’s work together, and forget all this nonsense on the side,” he said, then adding, “which is what our country kind of needs right now.”

Shirley Greene drove up from Moscow to meet the Heath men and buy the book because she, too, is a huge Sarah Palin fan. She said Chuck Heath’s mother, Marie, was her teacher in Hope.
