Today Gov. Sarah Palin’s “Good Tidings and Great Joy” book tour took her to Ft. Campbell, KY and Ft. Benning, GA. It’s evident that Palin has a deep respect and love for those that serve in our nation’s military. I’ve been fortunate to hear Gov. Palin speak in person on numerous occasions and each time she has requested that those serving, or those who have served, to please stand and be recognized at which time, Palin thanks them for their service and sacrifice. Is it any wonder that they appreciate her? I had a thought earlier today– how many of those that she met today leaned over and whispered “I wish you were our commander-in-chief”. I’d be willing to bet it happened more than a few times.
Gov. Palin posted an album of 11 photos from Ft. Campbell here. I’m going to go out on a limb in declaring this photo as the best photo of the tour even though this is only the fourth day. I would LOVE to hear this little girl’s story because she certainly seems very excited to be sharing it with Gov. Palin!
Gov. Palin also posted a note of thanks to Ft. Campbell on her Facebook page:
Thank you, Fort Campbell! God bless our active duty military and their families! This evening we’re on our way to Fort Benning where my son went to boot camp/infantry training years ago. Very excited to thank the troops here in Georgia as well!

The Ft. Benning signing was scheduled to end at 8:00 p.m. I’ll update this blog entry once more information is available.
UPDATE:
Gov. Palin posted two entries to her Facebook page from the Ft. Benning, GA book signing. In the first entry, she thanked Ft. Benning for hosting her by writing as follows:
Great folks at Fort Benning – we honor you! Thanks for taking the time to visit with us last night. We were inspired by the brave warriors and incredibly supportive families we got to meet. For your service and for sacrificing so much to preserve our freedoms – you are heroes. And we’re now in Naples, Florida, today looking forward to meeting more Southerners!
Palin’s second Facebook post is a gallery of 14 engaging photos from the Ft. Benning event. You can view the complete gallery here.
Gov. Palin’s book tour makes a stop in Naples, FL on Saturday.
