Palin: Let’s Talk About the Real Issues, Mr. President

Posted by Jackie Siciliano on March 12, 2012

Fort Wasilla 1  –  Whitehouse 0

Moments ago, Sarah Palin posted a scorching note to her Facebook page that’s directed at President Obama and his failed policies.

From Sarah Palin’s Facebook page:

The far Left continues to believe American voters are not smart enough to grasp the diversionary tactics it employs to distract us from the issues our President just doesn’t want to talk about – issues that affect us all every day and must be addressed.

Exhibit A in these diversionary tactics is an absurd new attack ad President Obama has released taking my comments out of context. I’m not running for any office, but I’m more than happy to accept the dubious honor of being Barack Obama’s “enemy of the week” if that includes the opportunity to debate him on the issues Americans are actually concerned about. (Remember when I said you don’t need a title to make a difference?)

Just off the top of my head, a few of these concerning issues include: a debt crisis that has us hurdling towards a Greek-style collapse, entitlement programs going bankrupt, a credit downgrade for the first time in our history, a government takeover of the health care industry that makes care more expensive and puts a rationing panel of faceless bureaucrats between you and your doctor (aka a “death panel”), $4 and $5 gas at the pump exacerbated by an anti-drilling agenda that rejects good paying energy sector jobs and makes us more dependent on dangerous foreign regimes, a war in Afghanistan that seems unfocused and unending, a global presidential apology tour that’s made us look feeble and ridiculous, a housing market in the tank, the longest streak of high unemployment since World War II, private-sector job creators and industry strangled by burdensome regulations and an out-of-control Obama EPA, an attack on the Constitutional protection of religious liberty, an attack on private industry in right-to-work states, crony capitalism run amok in an administration in bed with their favored cronies to the detriment of genuine free market capitalism, green energy pay-to-play kickbacks to Obama campaign donors, and a Justice Department still stonewalling on a bungled operation that armed violent Mexican drug lords and led to the deaths of hundreds of innocent people.  More

Colorado Christian University prepared for Sarah Palin visit

Unlike the Pacheco Foundation, which allowed leftist cranks to bully it into cancelling a charity fundraising event with Sarah Palin as keynote speaker, Colorado Christian University is ready and able to deal with deranged, Palin-hating liberals, according to a report in The Denver Post:

John Andrews, who leads the Centennial Institute think tank at the Lakewood college, said the school has a signed contract for the event and is prepared to deal with any publicity — positive or negative — that the conservative star might bring with her.

“Her staff has told us to expect an interesting ride, in terms of static,” Andrews said. “We know what’s down that road, and we are eager to go there.”

On Feb. 4, the Sharon K. Pacheco Foundation announced that Palin would be the featured speaker at a May 2 benefit in Glendale for military families but canceled the event less than 48 hours later, blaming threats and negative feedback.

[…]

Andrews said the Tea Party icon will not receive a speaking fee for her appearance at CCU. Palin’s fee sometimes exceeds $100,000, the Washington Speaker’s Bureau said last month.

Andrews said he doesn’t think security concerns derailed the Pacheco Foundation event and that Colorado came off “not looking great” because of a “perception that someone important could be chased away.

“Certainly, there is a warm welcome for her on our campus,” Andrews said.

[…]

All ticket proceeds from Palin’s Lakewood appearance will support the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, a national nonprofit group benefiting the families of fallen soldiers, Andrews said.

Andrews said the fact that Palin’s eldest son is a veteran made her a great choice for the event. Track Palin served in Iraq in 2008-2009.

Gov. Palin to Headline Military Appreciation Rally in Colorado May 2

You can’t keep a Mama Grizzly down. Nor can you intimidate all the good grizzlies who are determined to hold a benefit for the families of the fallen. After the Sharon K. Pacheco Foundation was forced to scuttle plans to have Sarah Palin speak at a similar fundraiser in Glendale, Colorado because of personal attacks and “an onslaught of negative rhetoric” against Gov. Palin, Colorado Christian University has announced Tribute to the Troops, featuring the 2008 vice presidential candidate as keynote speaker.

Scheduled for the CCU Event Center on the university’s Lakewood campus May 2, the same date that the Pacheco event was to have taken place, the rally will also feature retired Army Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin and members of all branches of the US Armed Forces.

Only 1,000 tickets will be sold at $25 each, and all proceeds will be donated to the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), the front line charity benefiting the families and loved ones of our military men and women.

Christmas With the Palins

Posted by Dr. Fay on December 22, 2009

During her interview for FOX and Friends at the Going Rogue book signing at the Villages in Florida, Gretchen Carlson asked  Governor Palin about her family’s Christmas traditions.  Governor Palin replied that Christmas at their house includes a visit at Grandma’s house and a candlelight service at church on Christmas Eve.  Christmas morning starts with opening presents left by “Santa” the night before, and then the family participates in the annual Wasilla Community Christmas dinner.

Asked what her favorite things about Christmas were, Piper mentioned gingerbread cookies, getting to go snowmachining and skiing, and “lots of gifts.” It sounds like the Palin Christmas is a mixture of fun and giving!  Also note that Christmas Eve is spent remembering the true meaning of Christmas, the day in which we celebrate Christ’s birth.

When asked what message she wanted to give to America at Christmas, Governor Palin expressed the “specialness” of having her son home for Christmas and asked that we reach out to the families whose loved ones gave the ultimate sacrifice in the war zone and won’t be home for Christmas.

Video of Gretchen’s interview with Governor Palin and Piper can also be found here.   Information about the Wasilla Community Christmas dinner and how you can help out can be found here.
