Again, Sarah Palin’s political wisdom serves her well

Posted by joshpainter on June 19, 2011

– by Josh Painter
*
Gov. Palin’s political wisdom, as it has done so many times in the past, served her well this weekend. By choosing not to attend the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans she avoided the embarrassment of being associated with the farce the event turned out to be.

Most any political event which has a straw poll and sells credentials for attendees risks having the poll results skewed in favor of the highest bidder. As he has a history of doing at these dog and pony shows, Congressman Ron Paul purchased, according to the buzz going around the convention, a block of 600 tickets to the event for his faithful and enthusiastic followers, and as if by coincidence, received 612 votes to win the RLC straw poll going away. The implication is that in addition to the 600 “Ronulans” Rep. Paul had bused in to News Orleans, there were a dozen people at the conference who voted for him. Straw poll runner up Amb. Jon Huntsman evidently couldn’t fly in 600 supporters to flood the zone, but the former Obama employee still managed to get 382 Huntsmaniste to the Crescent City to vote for him.

As easily manipulated as these straw polls are, conservative media nevertheless give them plenty of coverage, without any mention of how the straw polls are almost always rigged. That speaks to the power of sponsorship and advertising. Though not as corrupt as their lamestream media counterparts, such conservative media stalwarts as The American Spectator, by reporting the flawed poll results as news, demonstrated that you can’t believe everything you read in the conservative media. Shame on you, James Antle. Even Investors Business Daily got caught with its integrity down by simply reprinting a press release from Ron Paul’s Presidential Campaign instead of fairly reporting on the straw poll. That’s hardly what we would call “news and analysis,” IBD, as it fails to satisfy the definition of either.

If the straw poll wasn’t enough to make a bad joke out of RLC, the appearance of Reggie Brown, a “comedian” and Obama impersonator, moved it into the Total Farce category. After suffering though an eighteen minute salvo of mostly racial jokes with a few shots at gays thrown in for bad measure, RLC President and CEO Charlie Davis finally decided that he had just about heard enough and pulled the plug on the over-the-top comic. Brown’s rude routine was rudely interrupted and mercifully truncated when a man went to the podium, told the comedian to leave and escorted him off the stage. Though NewsBuster Noel Sheppard questions the real reason why Brown was yanked, in our view that is a matter which is beside the point.

The point is that before Brown was sent packing, the comic had provided the left with a veritable armory full of ammunition to shoot back at conservatives. The Atlantic, Politico and the usual retinue of leftist blogs seized on Brown’s bad jokes as further “evidence” that the right is raaaacist, just like the left has been claiming since day one. The Republican Party has earned its appellation of “The Stupid Party” for its tendency to not always act in its own best interests, and sadly, its kissing kicking cousin, the conservative establishment, is quickly becoming “The Stupid Movement.” Most all of us are familiar with Ronald Regan’s Eleventh Commandment, “Thou shalt not speak ill of another Republican.” If Reagan would have had a Twelfth Commandment, we like to think it would be something to the effect of, “Thou shalt not give the left political ammunition to use against conservatives or conservatism.”

Which brings us back to Sarah Palin. Every time a “conservative” mocks or criticizes the governor, the left jumps on the opportunity just handed them to further demean her. “See,” they breathlessly exclaim, “even conservatives don’t take her seriously!” Never mind that serial centrist Palin-bashers such as David Frum, Peggy Noonan and the rest of their ilk are no more “conservative” than Zell Miller is a “progressive,” ammo is ammo, and it rips the reputation of conservatives and tears the fabric of their ideas, no matter where it comes from. Anyone right of dead center, even if just slightly so, knows full well in advance of making disparaging remarks about Sarah Palin that by doing so they are giving aid and comfort to the left. We submit that a true conservative, if he or she differs with another conservative on issues and ideas, should be free to argue the points. But attacks by those on the right against the character, intellect, physical appearance, or family of a good Reagan conservative should be considered a treasonous act by all conservatives of conscience, and they should publicly shun those who are guilty of engaging in such behavior. In the end, these attacks do as much to damage the cause of conservatism as they do to politically wound any individual conservative.

Getting back to New Orleans, Sarah Palin has once again offered convincing evidence that not only are her political instincts right as rain, the decision making process she employed to evaluate what she instinctively knew to be likely — an intellectual exercise — proved to be beyond reproach. She knew ahead of this event that the straw poll would be stacked against her and rightly judged that there was no win for her in lending her presence to this sham of a conference. Just like CPAC, the corruption spreading through the conservative establishment is tainting all its public events. Sarah knows that she and the grassroots conservative movement are better served by her participation in Tea Party rallies and other events organized by those who put plenty of distance between themselves and the (once upon a time) conservative establishment. She’s smarter than your average grizzly bear.

Can Governor Palin rewrite the political playbook?

Posted by joshpainter on June 2, 2011

– by Josh Painter
*
Sarah Palin’s One Nation bus tour of the American northeast seems to have met or exceeded her expectations, so much so that she and her team will try out the innovative concept to the Midwest and the South. Associated Content contributor Mark Whittington opines that if she decides to run, expect more innovation in the form of her campaign structure:

Clearly Palin is conducting a test run of what may be the most unusual presidential campaign in recent American history. She means to bypass the Republican Party establishment, including the cadre of precinct chairman whom political candidates usually cater to, and take her case directly to the voters. Many pundits regard this as a mistake and even a sign Palin has no intention of running. The party apparatus is considered crucial for creating on the ground organization that a candidate needs to get out the vote.

Palin may be thinking of a different model, one that seems to have worked in the past two or so years to shake the political foundations of the United States: the Tea Party movement.

The Tea Party has not been a hierarchical organization in the classic sense. It is one example of what law professor and Instapundit Glenn Reynolds calls an “Army of Davids,” in which individuals band together, self-organize, and go forth to effect change. The Tea Party has been wildly successful in this, putting hundreds of thousands of people in the streets and organizing voters for the 2010 election.

It could be that Palin is thinking along these lines if she pulls the trigger on a presidential run in 2012. Activists, bound together by social media, would band together and work cooperatively to elect Palin, just as the Tea Party worked together to oppose President Obama and get more conservatives elected in 2010.

There are, of course, naysayers in the chattering class who doubt that the political ground can be broken with with a campaign organized using such a cutting edge model. But if Gov. Palin were to get herself elected president in this fashion, she will have rewritten the political playbook.

Why Karl Rove is childishly mocking Gov. Palin

Posted by joshpainter on March 2, 2011

– by Josh Painter
*
Karl Rove, the architect of a Bush presidency that saw its approval numbers drop to 28 percent in 2008 (the same as Jimmy Carter’s in 1979), is now the spokesman for the Bush wing of the Republican Party, also known as the GOP establishment. The political left, which hated Rove with a purple passion when he was in the White House, now gleefully quotes him every time he takes a swipe at the Tea Party and Sarah Palin. Rove knows full well that every time he swings his Louisville Slugger at her, the Democrat/Media Complex will give his words sufficient amplification to reach every television, radio and internet connection in the western world.

With this in mind, in an interview with the hard left New York Magazine, Rove went back to the schoolyard to engage in childish mockery of Gov. Palin. He knew that this tactic would be a big hit with the political left because the tenor of leftist attacks on Reagan conservatives often resembles the taunts of middle school bullies on their worst behavior.

The governor’s recently-hired chief of staff’s comments, when asked if Sarah Palin would like to have Rove available as an advisor, highlight the battle lines that have been drawn within the Grand Old Party:

Does the next candidate of the GOP want the mark of “Bush’s Brain” on their candidacy? To alienate the tea party by ?cozying up to the elitist Rasputin?

Certainly not Sarah Palin. “Of all the potential candidates, Governor Palin would no doubt be the one desiring new energy and ideas,” says her chief of staff Michael Glassner, “and, refreshingly, hiring advisers who aren’t entrenched in any political machine.”

Townhall.com’s Guy Benson observes:

Glassner’s comments certainly leave the distinct impression that Palin is gearing up for a run, do they not? (1) Taking a shot at a possible future adversary is par for the course in early presidential skirmishes, and (2) how many non-politician pundits have chiefs of staff bragging to reporters about the quality and independence of the advisers they’re hiring?

If Palin gets in, and Rove makes it his mission to stop her, Republicans should brace for a historic rumble. Democrats would likely enjoy every minute of the internecine feud, but would be well-served to remember that a nasty, protracted intra-party fight does not guarantee political success for the opposing party.

The competition between grassroots libertarian-leaning conservatives and establishment Republicans goes back much earlier than the week before the 2010 mid-term election, when Rove, seemingly from out of deep left field, abruptly attacked Gov. Palin for her eight-week TLC series “Sarah Palin’s Alaska.” It also goes far to the southwest of the Washington Beltway, all the way to the heart of the Lone Star State.

Over two years ago, then Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, with the support of the Bush wing of the GOP, challenged Rick Perry for the governorship of Texas. Unlike the Bushies, who feared the grassroots phenomenon known as the Tea Party, Perry embraced the movement:

What resulted was a preview of the GOP–versus–tea party civil war. Dave Carney, Perry’s top strategist, attacked Rove as a “country club” Republican. Conversely, Sarah Palin, tea-party heroine, endorsed Rick Perry, calling him a “true conservative.”

Perry handily destroyed Hutchison in the primary.

“The Bushes are out of contact with what Texas is about,” says a veteran Republican politico who is close friends with Rick Perry. “So is Karl.”

Rove is the embodiment of everything the tea party resents. He supported Bush’s decision to bail out the banks in 2008, a major bone of contention with deficit hawks. And it was Rove, as White House political adviser, who pushed for some of the most expensive Bush programs, like the Medicare-prescription-drug bill, the passage of which cornered the troublesome State of Florida for Bush in 2004 but has already cost more than $1 trillion. The national debt nearly doubled under Bush, from $5.7 trillion to $10.6 trillion.

Hutchison’s devastating loss hit Rove hard, as he was working behind the scenes on her behalf, and her campaign’s dismal failure put a large dent in the Rovian myth of invincibility. Though he has long labored to build a power base from which to control GOP politics in the post-Bush era, Rove lost a lot of followers along the way and now faces some serious competition:

…the Koch brothers, David and Charles, the major tea-party underwriters who are promising to raise $88 million for the presidential elections, posing a populist alternative to Rove’s Establishment stronghold and making inroads with their support of Governor Scott Walker in Wisconsin and funding of counterprotests there. It’s not inconsequential: Major Republican donors told me they were disappointed by Rove’s comments about Palin. “He’s not right all the time,” one of them noted.

The Brothers Koch, like many conservatives, were sorely disappointed in the Bush presidency as administered by Rove. The Bush tax cuts were an outstanding achievement, but the failure to couple them with corresponding cuts in federal spending are a major reason why the deficit doubled under Bush. That the Bush deficits quadrupled under Barack Obama in less than two years time just rubs salt into the wing.

Like Sarah Palin, the Kochs have a libertarian streak, which explains their support of the Cato Institute, and though no clear lines have yet been drawn between the brothers and Gov. Palin, it’s interesting that they own oil refineries in Texas and Alaska and control about four thousand miles of pipeline. The two are into paper products as well. Just a few of the familiar products produced by companies they own are Brawny towels, Dixie cups and Georgia-Pacific lumber. Surely the well-known Palin libertarian streak is an asset the brothers must find appealing, and the fact that the Bushies hate her so much likely doesn’t hurt her standing in the eyes of the Kochs.

One thing is certain: if the Koch brothers are favorably disposed toward a Palin presidential run, the large donor requirement will not be a problem for the 2008 vice presidential candidate in 2012. It’s not just their own money which could help fuel a Palin candidacy. A number of other major donors will lay down their contributions where they see the brothers putting theirs. No wonder “progressives” are so afraid of the political influence of the Koch Brothers. The left has recently launched a campaign to make sure that the pair are cited frequently as the focus of evil which stands against every imaginable liberal policy issue. George Soros may have met his match, and Karl Rove most certainly has met his.

Sarah Palin Raises Money For Ft Hood Shooting Victims And Families

Posted by Gary P Jackson on December 7, 2009

Sarah made a very popular visit to Ft Hood, Texas to sign books and raise money for victims and families of those whose lives were forever changed by the first terror attack on American soil since September 11, 2001.

There was a large crowd of supporters at the base to welcome her to Central Texas. Sarah, who donated her royalties from all of the books sold during her visit raised a reported $10,000 for the cause.

From the Houston Chronicle:

Palin gets a hero’s welcome at Fort Hood:

Former VP candidate signs copies of her book and says royalties on some book sales will benefit a rampage victims fund

FORT HOOD — Rebecca Dalberg’s excitement over Sarah Palin’s book signing Friday night was so intense, she wanted to spend the night in a parking lot to assure a front-row seat.

Her retired military husband, Sonny Dalberg, quashed that idea because the Copperas Cove couple live less than five minutes away from the sprawling Army post where the former Alaska governor signed about 1,000 copies of her new book, Going Rogue.

The Dalbergs, who arrived 11 hours before the event, were among the first people to navigate a maze of meandering lines at the post exchange before reaching last year’s GOP vice presidential candidate.

Warm welcome

The crowd greeted her entry with a boisterous “Sar-ah, Sar-ah” chant.

She’s human. She listens to people. She doesn’t think that she’s better than anyone,” Rebecca Dalberg said. “She’s all-American. That’s Mom, apple pie and John Wayne.”

The Dalbergs paid $21 each for four books. Each person was allowed to bring two to Palin for autographs.

Palin has said royalties on books sold during her stop at Fort Hood will benefit the victims of last month’s mass shooting and their families.

Army psychologist Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is accused of killing 13 and wounding 38 soldiers and civilians.

Victims’ family members are ecstatic about Palin’s help, said Ron Taylor, president of the Central Texas chapter of the Association of the U.S. Army.

He estimated the book signings would add more than $10,000 to the fund, which will help pay for travel expenses, lodging and missed work for family members who had to rush to Fort Hood to be with their loved ones, Taylor said.

The fund, which has fetched $250,000, will help more than 100 family members, he said.

First Lt. Jonathan Brown of Tampa Bay, Fla., walked away with a smile as he clutched his autographed copy of Palin’s book.

It was my first time that I met somebody big,” said Brown, a Palin supporter. “She supports the military. She supports the American troops, and I’m a big fan of that.

Support for politician

Theresa Cockran of nearby Nolanville came away convinced she had just met the next president of the United States.

She’s like me. She’s got a heart and a soul,” said Cockran, wife of a military retiree. “I am so happy I almost wet my pants.”

Just before her visit, Sarah posted this on her Facebook page:

Worthy American Heroes – Reminding Us What Really Matters

Ready and anxious to see America’s finest at Ft. Hood tomorrow. My heart is with every military mom, dad, spouse, child, grandparent… every supporter of our proud men and women in uniform.

My brother passed the following along to me because he thought I’d like it; he was right. Enjoy… and please honor America’s finest.

– Sarah Palin

The average age of the military man is 19 years. He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is considered by society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind the ears, not old enough to buy a beer, but old enough to die for his country. He never really cared much for work and he would rather wax his own car than wash his father’s, but he has never collected unemployment either.

He’s a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student, pursued some form of sport activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, and has a steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away. He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and a 155mm howitzer.

He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he was at home because he is working or fighting from before dawn to well after dusk. He has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and reassemble it in less time in the dark. He can recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must.

He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional.

He can march until he is told to stop, or stop until he is told to march.

He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without spirit or individual dignity. He is self-sufficient.

He has two sets of fatigues: he washes one and wears the other. He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry.

He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his rifle. He can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts.

If you’re thirsty, he’ll share his water with you; if you are hungry, his food. He’ll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when you run low.

He has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were his hands.

He can save your life – or take it, because that is his job. He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay, and still find ironic humor in it all. He has seen more suffering and death than he should have in his short lifetime. He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat and is unashamed.

He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to ‘square-away’ those around him who haven’t bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even stop talking.

In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful.

Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom. Beardless or not, he is not a boy. He is the American Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 200 years.

He has asked nothing in return, except our friendship and understanding.

Remember him, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with his blood.

And now we even have women over there in danger, doing their part in this tradition of going to War when our nation calls us to do so.

As you go to bed tonight, remember this. A short lull, a little shade, and a picture of loved ones in their helmets.

Waco’s KXXV TV has additional video here.

The Austin-American Statesman has a great slideshow here.

One thing is very clear, as a former Commander-In-Chief, with a son off her own in the army, Sarah has a deep love and respect for the American fighting men and women. One thing else is becoming clear, as well: A whole lot of people see her as the next Commander-In-Chief of those brave men and women.

Sarah Palin: Faith, Family, Freedom: Remembering What Really Matters: A Big Night In Missouri

Posted by Gary P Jackson on December 3, 2009

Last night Sarah spoke to a packed house at the College of the Ozarks in Missouri. Although these things are off limits to reporters, and who can blame ‘em, the tweets were flying. I’ll have some of the better ones, with links to all, below.

But first, here’s what Sarah has to say:

Faith, Family, Freedom: Remembering What Really Matters

My parents and I just had a wonderful time at “Hard Work U” – the school motto of College of the Ozarks. It earned that proud nickname because students there work their way through college and graduate with little or no debt. (In other words, a place after my own heart, and the hearts of others who worked their way through college and, like me, maybe took five years to finish because of work schedules!)

At tonight’s patriotic event at the college we heard some amazing personal stories of heroism and sacrifice by our military veterans in attendance, including members of our Greatest Generation, who we honored tonight. It was such an inspiration to hear their stories and affirm the principles that make this country great – faith, hard work, perseverance, patriotism, and public service.

All Americans need to hear from these true, proud patriots. May we never forget their fight for freedom. Their battles make the petty shots and irrelevant “challenges” some of us face today pale in comparison. I thank them for allowing us a healthy perspective and a reminder of what really matters.

– Sarah Palin

PS: Please enjoy the photos below from Arizona, New Mexico, and Missouri!

We’ve been given permission to reprint the copyrighted photos you see, but if you want to see more, please go to Sarah’s Facebook page, here.

*Gov. Sarah Palin shakes hands with a supporter as he passes through the line at a “Going Rogue” book signing event at Borders bookstore on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, in Springfield, MO. Photo by Shealah Craighead. Copyright SarahPAC.

Here’s a video of Sarah arriving at Borders in Springfield:

The website: Governor Palin 4 President has a nice reporting of things. It seems 5,000 packed the house to see Sarah:

Point Lookout, Mo — Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said tonight she doesn’t need an official “title to affect positive change” in the country. Palin told an estimated crowd of 5,000 packed in Keeter Gymnasium at College of the Ozarks that despite her resignation, she is moving on “in the battle with new strategy.”

Palin was the keynote speaker tonight during a convocation that honored World War II veterans and others connected to the private college with “Great American” awards. Palin was the inaugural recipient of the award for her contributions to promoting patriotism, said College of the Ozarks President Jerry Davis.

Silver Dollar City co-owner Sharon “Sherry” Herschend, an alumna of the school, was among seven people who received a Great American Award from the college. The military veterans participated in a program where they visited battlefields with students to teach the young people about sacrifices their elders made, Davis said.

As part of Palin’s speaking contract, College of the Ozarks sought to ban reporters from covering the speech. But the News-Leader and other local media outlets obtained free tickets and sent reporters to cover the speech from the bleachers. Palin’s speech came after spending three hours in Springfield autographing copies of her new book “Going Rogue” at Borders Bookstore on South Glenstone Avenue.

Palin talked about how she got started in politics, working her way up from the Wasilla, Alaska, City Council to mayor and then eventually to chair of the Alaska Gas and Oil Conservation Commission and governor of the state.

As a city councilwoman, Palin said she didn’t conform to the town elders’ standards for the status quo of governance. “I kind of went rogue, even back then,” Palin said jokingly, making a reference to her book title and history of going off-script while running for vice president last year.

Palin spoke to a friendly crowd that routinely applauded what she had to say about the current state of affairs in Washington, D.C., and her call for the country to return to its “pioneering values” of work hard, independence and taking care of your neighbors.

“History and common sense tells us that when government tries to take care of us, it ends up robbing us of our ability to help ourselves,” Palin said. “If we empower people to be free, providing a hand up but not a hand out … then we will become a more prosperous and generous nation.”

Here are a few choice tweets from the night. BTW, when you see @ SarahPalinUSA folks are of course referencing Sarah herself. Twitter has it’s own protocol, it seems.

From Chad Livengood of the News-Leader:

“Borders manager says Palin signed up to 1,200 books for 700-900 people in 3 hours. That’s a signature every 9 seconds. http://tiny.cc/MZlOj

“The Borders manager said yesterday he didn’t think they could handle anymore than 500 people, so they consider this good.”

“The first mention of @SarahPalinUSA gathers a standing applause at the convocation, which is underway.”

“College of the Ozarks is awarding @SarahPalinUSA its inaugural “Great American Award’ for her patriotism and spreading it.”

“C of O’s Jerry Davis: “If all you know about Sarah Palin is what the so-called mainstream media has to say, you’ve got a lot to learn.”

“Jerry Davis just introduced @SarahPalinUSA: “She has her hand on the heart beat of America,” he said.”

“@SarahPalinUSA on Jerry Davis: “I just love him. He’s such a hoot.” She says he’s like her in that he “goes off script” and goes “rogue.”

“Palin is talking about work ethic & pushing one’s self to better their lives. “I don’t believe in coincidences,” she said.”

“@SarahPalinUSA says she returned home from campaign trail to new political rivals, bringing Alaska gov’t to a “grinding halt.”

“@SarahPalinUSA is getting to why she quit: “We spent about 80% of our time fending off frivilous lawsuits.”

“@SarahPalinUSA says she resigned “with no scandals running me out of office, despite what the media desperately wanted to find.”

“Possible @SarahPalinUSA Quote of the Night: “You don’t need a title to affect positive change.”

You can read more of Chad’s take on the night here.

Fox2now, the local Fox affiliate, has some great video. It’s interesting to see young and old. One 20 something girl who drove in from St Louis is interviewed, as well as a guy of about the same age, who drove in from Arkansas, and says that not only does he feel that Sarah will be the leader of the Conservative movement by 2012, he also has hopes she will be the next Ronald Reagan!

Personally, when I hear younger folks mention the Great Renaldus Magnus with such reverence, it really makes me feel good about the direction our younger generation will take us. You can see the video here.

Citizen Palin 4 President, another website devoted to a Sarah Palin presidency, has more really great video, including a truly glowing report from Fox2now. The word rock star is used quite often! Check out the website and see the videos here.

Here are some tweets from Ron Davis:

“SP: ‘As ur spine is stiffened, the spines of others will be stiffened.'”

“Calls self mix of federalist, Jeffersonian.”

“SP: much media coverage ‘waste of ink.'” (Editor’s note: I agree!)

“Says ethics chgs were ‘game being played.'”

“On resigning: God has ‘so blessed that decision.'”

“Says US at crossrds in ‘economic, military n values oriented battles.'”

“Crisis abt nation’s identity, she says.”

Dave Catanese offers his take:

“In giving award to @SarahPalinUSA, C of O prez citing her dedication to military veterans as Governor.”

“@SarahPalinUSA now helping honor 7 World War II/Vietnam vets who participate in school’s Patriotic Travel Program.”

“Maybe College of the Ozarks president Jerry Davis should run for office. The guy’s a heck of a storyteller. Got more 1-liners than ”

“Jerry Davis’ intro: “If all you know about Sarah Palin is what the mainstream media says about her, you’ve got a lot to learn.””

“Davis cites Palin’s motto: “No more politics as usual.” “I’d like to see that in Washington myself,” Davis says to cheers.”

“Palin speaking now… “Davis is such a hoot.” Mentions FOX News appearance. Cheers. “I knew he was gonna go rogue,” Palin adds.”

“Palin says College of the Ozarks debt-free education should be model for the nation.”

“Palin says never thought taking 5 yrs to get a 4-yr degree would be an issue until the “lame-stream” media took issue with it.”

“Palin says she’s “an ordinary American given extraordinary opportunities” because she’s put her life in God’s hands.”

“Palin:”Despite what the media wants to..spin about my record…I will keep calling it as I see it.”

“Palin’s concludes her 50-minute speech to a standing O. I’m off to our satellite truck. See you live on Ky3 News @ 10!”

You can see all of Dave’s tweets here. He gives a great accounting of the event, but is clearly miffed that the media wasn’t allowed in, though, there he was! Again this is standard for private speeches. Poor fellow was stuck in the nosebleed section of gym, as well. But a nice summation on his part anyhow.

Catanese’s blog has some neat video of Sarah’s dad, Chuck rippin’ on the “liberal media back east” and of Sally, Sarah’s mom, that you can see here.

“The liberal media back east, they raise hell with her. She’s tough. It hurts us when they hit the kids, but when you’re a politician, that comes with the territory”

___Chuck Heath

As always, wherever Sarah goes, she is a hit. Sarah brings something that no one else out there can. Sarah has a quality about her that can’t be bought. It can’t be learned and it can’t be taught. It just is.

Many people compare Sarah to the Great Ronald Reagan, and of course, that’s a valid comparison, and one that makes a lot of sense. After all, Sarah has studied Reagan since she was a kid, and quotes him in almost every speech or interview.

Both Reagan and Sarah come from small towns, went to small schools, including the “wrong colleges” and have a working class background. Like Sarah, Reagan was even a sportscaster!

But it goes further than the superficial stuff. Sarah, like Reagan, has an unbelievably strong work ethic. She has the ethic of those who spend a lifetime working with their hands. Sarah understands why our founders designed our form of government, and believes in that direction.

Sarah understands that America is it’s people, not it’s government. That left alone, the American people have made this the greatest nation on earth.

Ronald Reagan railed against the government his entire career. Sarah is cut from that same cloth. Both know that government isn’t the answer, government is the problem.

One more important thing, like Reagan, Sarah sees America as “that shining city on a hill,” this wonderful place were men are free and everyone has a chance to succeed. A nation that is the envy of the world and has inspired other nations and other peoples to be free.

Sarah brings a good old fashioned common sense with her that is rare among politicians these days. She also brings a western independence and an Alaskan pioneering spirit, a can do kind of attitude, no doubt shaped by life in the rugged wilderness of Alaska.

It’s no wonder that the College of the Ozarks saw fit to honor Sarah with it’s inaugural “Great American Award” for promoting patriotism.

Stop The Presses! Sarah Palin Flies On Airplanes!!

Posted by Gary P Jackson on December 2, 2009

You know, I wasn’t going to even address this nonsense, but I guess after a year of reporting on the insanity the loons on the left cook up about Sarah Palin, I should have known better. The left fears Sarah Palin like they have feared no other. Sarah Palin represents all that is good and great in America, and the left absolutely hates America. They show their contempt for this great nation, and all that makes it so, on a daily basis.

So what is the latest lunacy from the hate mongering left? Well, (OMG!) Sarah Palin is flying on airplanes to some of her book signings, and not riding the bus the whole time. Oh the humanity!

This lunacy started in a piece written on the Daily Beast. Some loser, who I refuse to give the satisfaction of naming, went into a lengthy tirade about somehow Sarah was a fraud, a phony, because she was actually flying to some events and “punishing” her staff by making them ride the bus.

This future Pulitzer Prize winner had enough charts and graphs, and 8×10 color glossy pictures, with circles and arrows, and a paragraph on the back of each one, to make the cop in Arlo Guthrie’s Alice’s Restaurant proud!

It’s a damned shame this guy wasn’t interested in…oh…say, the photo op Obama’s crack team sent Air Force One on, over the City of New York! You remember, the one that scared the crap out of the citizens of the city, who still kinda remember that little thing we call 9/11!

The bill for that was around $350,000 for some really crappy pictures. Photoshop would have been a LOT easier, and a dollar or two cheaper!

Then there is Obama’s date night with Michelle in New York City. That didn’t cost much, did it?

Or how about all of the parties at the White House? That place has been busier than Austin’s Sixth Street on a Saturday night! Party central. $100 a pound Japanese Wagyu beef, arugula, and all!!

Of course, this guy was just the start. Hates sites like the Huffington Post, and Palingates, a group of hate filled loons who fueled the “Trig truthers,” that incredible bunch of loons who are still trying to sell the idea that Sarah is not really Trig’s mother, jumped in.. So far, according to these idiots, Trig is actually Bristol’s (a physical and chronological impossibility) Willow’s, or maybe Todd’s! (Yeah, it would be a first, be we are talking left wing loons here)

AOL now has a story up on their front page fueling the fire. Why Conservatives do business with AOL beyond me. They are further to the left in their “news” dissemination than MSNBC, which is a wholly “owned” subsidiary of Obama, Inc. I mean just worthless as a news source.

Anyhow. AOL is not only linking Palingates, which is part of the Alaska Mafia, the group that White House adviser, and Obama’s campaign chief-of-staff , Pete Rouse, helps coordinate. They link the ultra far left hate site, the Daily Kos!

Palingates is part of the hate blogs who helped file the dozens of phony ethics complaints that cost the Alaska tax payers millions, paralyzed Palin’s government. They are evil.

It’s shocking though, that AOL also quotes one of the most vile, hate filled sites on the internet, the Daily Kos. A site by the way that hosts a yearly function in D.C. that is basically required attendance for all democrat/communists if the want to please their radical far left base. Most attend.

Again, why a major corporation like AOL would want their image tarnished with hate and lies is beyond me. It’s why we refuse to do business with them in any way, shape, or form.

Astonishingly, their discussion forums are filled with the same hate filled “progressves” that frequent sites like the Daily Kos and the Huffington Post, two of the most vile websites the internet has to offer. So I guess that IS what AOL wants to be, who they want to cater to.

Anyhow, as I said, I wasn’t going to give any of these loons credence, but this, like everything with Sarah, has reached critical mass as now the Tiffany Network is reporting this nonsense. CBS being the “news organization” that had Obama’s almost Vice President Sam Nunn basically write the questions that Katie Couric used in her much talked about interview with Sarah last year.

Oh, and Dana Chivvis, the so-called “reporter” for AOL who wrote this? She also blogs at CBS.com. I’m shocked.

Sarah herself has weighed in:

Media’s Priorities Shine Bright, Again! :)

It’s really comical at this point! Despite all of the important events happening in the world today – the president’s speech tonight on the strategy in Afghanistan, the Senate debate over health care reform, the disturbing details of the “Climategate” scandal, the continuing challenges facing the world economy – the media is concerned about my travel and lodging arrangements on my book tour?! Does this sound familiar? It should. The media showed the same out-of-proportion obsession with my personal arrangements, clothes, and hairstyles last year instead of focusing on the crucial issues involving the election.

So what is this news “story”? That I fly on an airplane to complete some of the stops on my book tour when it’s impractical or physically impossible to reach the next event on time by bus. Some news outlets are behaving as if my travel was a secret that they didn’t know about – despite the fact that I’ve tweeted about my flights and at least one local newspaper reported on the arrival of my flight into Rochester, NY. What’s even funnier is that these same media outlets think it’s shocking that we stay in hotels. I guess they expected us to pitch a tent alongside the road. We love the great outdoors, but such an arrangement is hardly practical for a book tour. Using common sense, it was determined that traveling by plane between some stops would save time and energy and allow me to go to more events. Economically speaking for HarperCollins, it’s more efficient to travel by charter, and I am very grateful to the publisher for providing my family and me with this incredible opportunity to shake hands with as many Americans as possible on this book tour.

If you’re scratching your head wondering why my flight and hotel logistics warrant news coverage, join the club. They can, of course, report on whatever they like, but in my opinion CBS loses whatever professional integrity it still has when it links in its report to a website devoted to the bizarre conspiracy theory that I’m not the real mother of my son Trig.

I’m truly humbled by the response to my book tour by everyday Americans, and if traveling by plane means that I can meet more of these wonderful people, I’ll travel by plane (or bus or train or canoe or dog sled or whatever it takes). Please enjoy the photos below!

– Sarah Palin

The pictures Sarah references are copyrighted by the photographer, Shealah Craighead so please take time to go to Sarah’s site and check them out.

The shocking photo below is from the 2008 campaign. It clearly shows Sarah Palin inside an airplane! Piper is seen talking to President George W. Bush on the phone. No doubt discussing state secrets, or something. Also seen in the photo is Texas Governor, Rick Perry. Make of that what you will!

Sarah is obviously right in all of this. Of course, the real deal is: This is a diversion. Look at what is going on right now that the democrat/communists absolutely do not want you to know about or focus on.

First, our most corrupt “president” in history is about to turn Afghanistan into Vietnam 2.0. We have now politicized this war. Something that should NEVER be done. It is unforgivable that this poor excuse for a commander-in-chief would play games with the lives of our finest and bravest. Obama and the rest of his far left radical regime are making the exact same mistakes the democrat/communists did in Vietnam, and a lot of brave men and women will die for it.

From this day forward, every death in this war is on Obama.

Then there is the health care debate. Most of America, according to any poll you want to cite, is dead set against this plan that will cost an estimated six trillion dollars. This is the biggest power grab in history. A plan that will tax this nation into oblivion, destroy the best health care in the world, and totally usurp states rights, while basically rendering our sacred Constitution null and void.

And by all means, our economy is in shambles, so let’s don’t talk about all of the lies Obama and his team are spewing about jobs “saved or created.” We all know that Obama’s Recovery.gov is an $18 million waste of tax payer money, and a total sham, with reports of jobs being “saved or created” in almost 100 congressional districts that don’t even exist!

So by all means, lets don’t talk about that.

Then there is the crowning jewel: Climategate. This little deal has just exposed “global warming” as the greatest lie ever told in the history of mankind! Not only have all of the scientists been cooking the books, now they are destroying original findings to hide their crime against humanity.

Who knows how much treasure has been wasted by the nations of this earth chasing this proven lie! Now thinking people ALWAYS knew “global warming” was a hoax. Only the flat earthers, the uneducated, those devoid of any sort of common sense, fell for this scam.

Crooks like Al Gore have made hundreds of millions of dollars off of this lie, and he stands to make billions. Same goes for companies like General Electric, the parent company of NBC/Universal, which continually pushes the “green” agenda, even through it’s entertainment division. General Electric CEO, Jeffrey Immelt, by the way, serves on a couple of advisory boards to Obama, and G.E. Capital received billions in TARP funds.

People like Gore and Immelt should be locked up in prison for helping spreading this hoax and profiting off this lie. Al Gore especially, as he has infected children world wide by having his total propaganda film, An Inconvenient Truth, forced on school children everywhere, as fact.

Bernie Madoff looks like a saint compared to Al Gore.

Even better, as the wheels come off the wagon, and the extent of this greatest hoax on mankind in the world’s history continues to be exposed, our so-called “president” is now planning to go to the “climate summit” in Copenhagen to discuss treaties on this nonexistent problem that would basically turn over United States sovereignty to an unelected, unaccountable board.

As we all know, the real agenda of all of this is to turn the entire world into a communist affair. This is wealth distribution on a biblical scale. And that’s the real reason this big lie was cooked up in the first place. It’s a mechanism to steal trillions of dollars from wealthy nations and give it to third world counties. It’s Karl Marx on steroids!

But (OMG!) Let’s don’t dare talk about THAT!

What we should be talking about is why we are not storming the White House gates and demanding that these rabid communists all step down! Why someone isn’t bringing out articles of impeachment on this reckless “president,” or at the very least threatening to if he goes to Copenhagen and starts this process based on the greatest lie ever told, the greatest scam in human history.

That’s what we should be talking about, but nope, instead your friendly local Obamacentric propaganda outlet, err….. I mean….. news outlet, is spending all of it’s time fretting about the fact that the Arctic Fox is flying on airplanes and sleeping in hotels!

Folks, we have real issues in this nation, serious issues. We need to hold these dishonest reporters accountable. But more than that, we need to hold the most dishonest and corrupt “president” in our nation’s history, along with the most dishonest and corrupt Congress in history, accountable.

We must demand that Obama and his team either get it together and follow the Constitution, or step down. And if not, face the full wrath of the American people, which needs to include prison time for the lot. The same goes for Congress.

All of these people work for us. With few exceptions, they are horrible employees. We need them to understand they are on notice. Here again, the worst of the lot, the ones pushing the “global warming” lies and this unconstitutional power grab disguised as health care reform need to be tried for treason, and dealt with accordingly.

Americans have set back for too long and just accepted things from the crooks in D.C. as they came. Americans have also put up with a corrupt media telling lies about good people, and covering up for those destroying America.

Now, just like this nonsense with Sarah, things have reached critical mass. The excrement has hit the fan!

As Americans, we must get involved and me must act. Me must act now and DEMAND change.

We are on the very brink of losing America as we know and love it, forever. We do not have the luxury of sitting back while the media misdirects us with nonsense stories like the fact that Sarah Palin flies on airplanes, Tiger Woods has issues, or whatever the diversion of the day is.

We are gripped by an evil this nation has never before known. Marxists, communists, socialists and other radicals have been hiding in the shadows for decades looking for their chance to act.

They have infiltrated our government, infected our schools and universities, and infiltrated our news media.. The election of Barack Obama as well as the most radical far left Congress in our history has provided the perfect storm for this great evil to take hold of America. These people, all working in concert, mean to fundamentally change America forever. They have been working for decades at destroying the very fabric of society.

We are at a crossroads, like this story on Sarah Palin’s travel arrangements, this diabolical plan to destroy America from within has reached critical mass.

Make no mistake about it, I am sick and tired of the hate filled left, and their attacks on one of the finest leaders this nation has ever produced. It angers me to my very core that these gutter snipes take daily swipes at Sarah Palin. They are the lowest of the low.

But, we must never lose sight of the fact that part of the reason the media is doing this, is to distract you from the great evil that is being done by those in Washington, D.C., and those who wander the halls of our institutions of “higher learning.” The media is willfully enabling what amounts to a coup de’tat.

We have a government that has run amok. A government that no longer listens, or cares about the American people. This most corrupt institution in our history must be stopped. The violators of our Constitution must be dealt with severely.

Oh, the media means to destroy Sarah Palin, that’s for sure. Sarah represents a clear and present danger to all of their evil plans. Sarah has energized and inspired a nation. Millions have been awakened by this magnificent woman’s spirit, integrity, and willingness to fight. Those who wish to destroy America from within, in an effort to remake it in their image, will go to any and every length to achieve their goal of stopping Sarah Palin.

And if they succeed? Well, they’ll just keep on going, and if someone else dare stand up, they’ll start in on them. This is how they work. Sarah Palin is by far the most powerful leader we have had in a generation or more, but make no mistake about it, anyone who dares to stand up to this evil will be hated, smeared, and otherwise targeted for destruction by those who wish to destroy America.

So in the end, we must fight. We must fight with every ounce of our souls. We must fight for Sarah Palin and we must fight for America. We must unite behind this great cause, this fight against evil, or see that shining light on a hill, as Reagan described America, go dark forever.

Sarah Palin To Headline First National Tea Party Convention

Posted by Gary P Jackson on November 27, 2009

Tea Party Nation has announced they are holding the first of it’s kind National Tea Party Convention in Nashville, Tennessee February 4-6 at the Opryland Hotel.

Sarah Palin will be the Special Keynote Speaker at the event:

Tea Party Nation is pleased to announce the First National Tea Party Convention. The convention is aimed at bringing the Tea Party Movement leaders together from around the nation for the purpose of networking and supporting the movements’ multiple organizations principle goals. This event will be co-sponsored by other national groups that believe in a responsible and limited federal government that is responsive to all the people. National Taxpayers Union, American Majority, Smart Girl Politics, and SurgeUSA are just a few of the organizations who will be on hand to contribute their time and talents to this convention.

Special Keynote Speaker for the event will be Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska (2006-2009) and 2008 Republican Vice Presidential Nominee.

The convention will feature well-known speakers, workshops, seminars, information centers, and organizational tools for leaders to take back to their respective local Tea Party organizations.

Popular Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann will be one of the breakfast speakers at the convention as well.

Tea Party Nation, according to their website, is “a user-driven group of like-minded people who desire our God given Individual Freedoms which were written out by the Founding Fathers. We believe in Limited Government, Free Speech, the 2nd Amendment, our Military, Secure Borders and our Country!

This is obviously a major step for the nation. The Tea Party movement has been gaining steam since it’s beginnings, and is now turning into a serious political movement. On September 12, 2009 Tea Party members along with those from the 912 Project converged on Washington, D.C. Somewhere between 1.5 and 2 million patriots met up to rally against our radical, out of control government.

This national convention is the next logical step in the progression of this movement. This will strengthen the movement, and help coordinate all of the local Tea Party groups.

From Sarah Palin’s standpoint, this is obviously a good move. No one embodies the American Spirit, that rugged individualism, as well as Sarah Palin. Sarah is already favorite of Tea Party and 912 Project members, this will only solidify her standing. As we roll into 2010, and Sarah starts helping Conservative candidates nationwide, the support of Tea Party activists will be vital. The Tea Party groups will be the ones who will help run the ground game, who will knock doors and get out the vote.

Of course, as 2012 nears, having the support of the Tea Party groups will give Sarah a strong advantage over all others should she choose to run for President.

For more information on the National Tea Party Convention and Tea Party Nation, check here and here, respectively.

Glenn Beck’s Friday The 13th Nightmare For Liberals Across America: Beck Hosts Prominent Black Conservatives

Posted by Gary P Jackson on November 11, 2009

This is something I am promoting with great pleasure. It was two weeks ago when I opened an e-mail from Conservative blogger, man about town, and all around good guy Clifton B. Cliff was letting us know he would be appearing as a guest on the Glenn Beck show as part of a panel of prominent Black Conservatives. Of course, as a friend and fellow blogger, I was very excited. I knew This would be must see TV!

Now even better, we found out that another colleague and friend, Adrienne Ross, will also be part of this show as well. Man, this couldn’t get any better. Two great bloggers on one big show.

For those that haven’t had the pleasure, Clifton B, who writes as Another Black Conservative, is a must read. His blog covers all of the big topics of the day. Cliff is also a big supporter of Sarah Palin’s. In fact, that’s how we met. His blog is one you simply must bookmark.

Adrienne Ross and I share a lot of bandwidth on the blogs we contribute to. Her blog, Motivation: Truth takes a Christian Conservative look at the events that surround us. Adrienne is a teacher, by trade, and is also a strong supporter of Sarah Palin’s. She is very big in the Draft Sarah Palin 2012 movement. Adrienne’s blog has some great stories, including her trip to Alaska this summer. This is another blog that simply must be bookmarked, and read daily.

If you are a Glenn Beck fan, and well, who isn’t, you know he was rushed to the hospital last week for an emergency appendectomy. Glenn is doing fine and will be back hosting his show on Wednesday.

Glenn has had some very positive panels since he has moved his show over to the Fox News Network, and this will be no exception. So make sure you tune in on Friday, set your DVR, and get ready for the left wing loons’ worst nightmare!

Many thanks to the Left Coast Rebel for coming up with the cool poster to promote this event.

Sarah Palin: Leadership In Action

Posted by Gary P Jackson on October 27, 2009

The mark of a true leader is that people actually want to follow them. Sarah Palin is that sort of leader. Sarah has proven herself as a leader from the time she was captain of her basketball team, and the leader of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes . When Sarah was mayor of Wasilla, she was also elected president of the Alaska Council of Mayors. And of course, as Chairman of the AOGCC and Governor of Alaska, she showed incredible leadership.

Though some were bewildered when Sarah stepped down as Governor, they just didn’t understand the dynamics going on in Alaska. Sarah has continued to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is indeed one of our nation’s strongest leaders. From taking strong stands against the unconstitutional attempts at the government take over of health care, to speaking out on energy and monetary policy, Sarah Palin has been the leading voice.

In fact, Sarah’s outspoken comments against ObamaCare stopped it’s momentum dead in it’s tracks. As Sarah talked about a system that would inevitably lead to rationing of care, see RomneyCare in Massachusetts, she called it “downright evil.” Sarah’s ability to distill down the idea of bureaucrats sitting in some government office, arbitrarily coming up with formulas for who will and won’t receive ObamaCare, based on how “valuable” they are to society, was brilliant. The idea of “death panels” is now part of the American lexicon.

The mark of a true leader though is the ability to risk it all when the situation calls for it. To go “all in” if that’s what is called for. This is just what Sarah has done with the Congressional race in New York’s 23rd district.

Some background on this deal first. This is a special election for the unexpired term of Republican John McHough, who was chosen earlier this year to be Secretary of the Army. There wasn’t a primary process to chose candidates to run for this seat, instead, this was a backroom deal where the party bosses chose who the candidate would be.

Unfortunately, the party “elite” chose an extreme liberal. At this point, the whos and whys, that “backstage intrigue” of it all, doesn’t really matter. Suffice it to say, the “elite” thought it better to run an extreme liberal in a safe Republican district. Not all that brilliant.

Enter local businessman Doug Hoffman. Hoffman, a very successful businessman in the district, and a CPA, has never held elected office, never run for elected office, but he is a rock solid Conservative, and understands that our nation is on the wrong path. Frankly, as Barack Obama allows America to turn into a financial quagmire, we could use a few more CPAs in Congress and a lot less attorneys!

For her part in what has become a national race, and a referendum on not only Barack Obama, but the direction of the GOP, DeDe Scozzafava couldn’t be less of a sympathetic figure. To call Scozzafava a RINO, Republican In Name Only,.is to insult other RINOs. DeDe is so far to the left, that she has been endorsed by the ultra-leftist group, the Daily Kos, over the democrat in the race!

Scozzafava is a darling of ACORN, supports card check, ObamaCare, all of the spending, and is married to a union leader. According to one ratings group, Scozzafava, a state assembly woman, is more liberal than 43 percent of the elected democrats in the state!

Moreover, Scozzafava is the most recent recipient of the Margaret Sanger award. Regular readers will recognize Sanger as the founder of Planned Parenthood, the “holy church” of the “progressive” movement, and the democrat/communist party. Margaret Sanger was, among other things, an ardent supporter of eugenics, she was an inspiration to such fine folks like Adolf Hitler and Josef Mengele.

Sanger, an associate of the Ku Klux Klan, and frequent speaker to the group, founded Planned Parenthood as part of her attempt to push for the abortion of black babies, who she called “human weeds.”

This is who DeDe Scozzafava is. A far left “progressive” that makes the democrat in the race look very attractive, even to Republicans. This woman is so far left that she has prompted popular columnist, Mark Steyn to coin a new phrase for her, and those like her: DIABLO, “democrat in all but label only!” Frankly, I hope this one catches on, and seeing how DeDe’s campaign manager reportedly approached the democrat party bosses about her playing on their team, this is quite appropriate!

Now for it’s part, the hapless GOP “elites” went “all in” for DeDe. The NRCC has sent an incredible amount of money up there to support this DIABLO. And Newt Gingrich, once the darling of Conservatives coast to coast, jumped in with both feet as well.

Enter Sarah Palin. Now Sarah wasn’t the first heavy hitter to come in and help Hoffman. Dick Armey and his Club For Growth were early supporters followed by Fred and Jeri Thompson. But Sarah was the first person to really stake her reputation on Doug Hoffman. Sarah was the first person considered a front runner in 2012 to lay it on the line.

In a statement on Facebook, she said it all:

The people of the 23rd Congressional District of New York are ready to shake things up, and Doug Hoffman is coming on strong as Election Day approaches! He needs our help now.

The votes of every member of Congress affect every American, so it’s important for all of us to pay attention to this important Congressional campaign in upstate New York. I am very pleased to announce my support for Doug Hoffman in his fight to be the next Representative from New York’s 23rd Congressional district. It’s my honor to endorse Doug and to do what I can to help him win, including having my political action committee, SarahPAC, donate to his campaign the maximum contribution allowed by law.

Our nation is at a crossroads, and this is once again a “time for choosing.”

The federal government borrows, spends, and prints too much money, while our national debt hits a record high. Government is growing while the private sector is shrinking, and unemployment is on the rise. Doug Hoffman is committed to ending the reckless spending in Washington, D.C. and the massive increase in the size and scope of the federal government. He is also fully committed to supporting our men and women in uniform as they seek to honorably complete their missions overseas.

And best of all, Doug Hoffman has not been anointed by any political machine.

Doug Hoffman stands for the principles that all Republicans should share: smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense, and a commitment to individual liberty.

Political parties must stand for something. When Republicans were in the wilderness in the late 1970s, Ronald Reagan knew that the doctrine of “blurring the lines” between parties was not an appropriate way to win elections. Unfortunately, the Republican Party today has decided to choose a candidate who more than blurs the lines, and there is no real difference between the Democrat and the Republican in this race. This is why Doug Hoffman is running on the Conservative Party’s ticket.

Republicans and conservatives around the country are sending an important message to the Republican establishment in their outstanding grassroots support for Doug Hoffman: no more politics as usual.

You can help Doug by visiting his official website below and joining me in supporting his campaign:

http://www.doughoffmanforcongress.com/donate3.html.

Several things to note. Sarah took a direct shot at the party “elite” when she pointed out that Doug Hoffman wasn’t anointed by the party machine. She also took a direct shot at the GOP letting them know in no uncertain terms that “politics as usual” wouldn’t stand.

Of course, as with most of Sarah’s speeches and writings, there is a healthy dose of Ronald Reagan added, showing that she gets it. While the “elites” in the party keep telling us “the era of Reagan is over” Sarah knows what we know, that is Reagan is timeless. That’s a lesson she is about to teach all of the RINOs and DIABLOs in the party!

Bear in mind that when Sarah gave her unwavering support to Doug Hoffman, he was dead last in the three way race between himself, Scozzafava, and the democrat. This wasn’t a cut and dried “win” for anyone supporting Doug Hoffman!

Knowing this, so-called front runners like Tim Pawlenty came out with statements like this noted on The Hill’s website:

When asked on ABC’s “Top Line” webcast if he will endorse a candidate, Pawlenty replied “probably, yeah,” but said that he would need to take time to review the candidates’ policy positions.

But in the interview, Pawlenty only raised issues with Scozzafava and did not address Hoffman.

“As a conservative, I am worried about some of the things I’ve heard about how the person was selected,” he said of Scozzafava.

“The selection of this individual…seems a little cloistered,” he continued, raising issue about how the Republican Party selected Scozzafava as a nominee. Critics say that the nomination was not open and thorough enough. The party passed over Hoffman and a number of other candidates for Scozzafava.

“The process may not have been as open as it should have been,” Pawlenty added.

The governor also said that he is “concerned about some of the alleged issue positions that she holds.”

Real profile in courage there, huh! Pawlenty has since come aboard and endorsed Doug Hoffman. What of the other so-called “front runners” Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee? Well, for Huckabee, while he says that he supports the ideas that Hoffman stands for, he has no plans to endorse, or have HuckPAC send any money. That’s kind of all you need to know about Huckabee. Seems like his career as a TV host, and bass player is firmly cemented now! Romney is AWOL in this deal. Not a single word.

But what of the “Sarah effect” in all of this. Well, first of all, record amounts of money started rolling in! In less than 12 hours after her endorsement $116,000 came in. To put that in perspective, they had raised roughly $200,000 in the week before.

The most profound effect though was in polling. The Club For Growth polled after Sarah’s endorsement and it looked like this: Hoffman 31.3%, Owens (the democrat) 27.0%, Scozzafava 19.7%.

From dead last to first in just a couple of days! And this in a race that Newt Gingrich is still lecturing us that will only “split the party!”

For those that may have forgotten about the “Sarah effect” might I remind you about the run-off race in Georgia after the 2008 elections. Senator Saxby Chambliss was in a tough spot. He had won the election in a three way battle, but under Georgia rules, the winner must have at least 50.1 percent to take the seat. He didn’t have it. In the run-off election, Chambliss was locked in a dead heat race, according to the polls. Both sides sent all of their “stars” in to stump for their candidates. The democrats sent in Bill Clinton and rapper Ludacris. The GOP sent in everybody. No help, as none could draw much of a crowd on either side.

Sarah came in on a Sunday night and attended a fund raiser, and then on Monday, the day before the election, held four rallies, all to standing room only crowds. Chambliss won in a 16 point blowout!

More of the “Sarah effect” is apparent this morning as new polling out shows Doug Hoffman’s lead in the race is widening. From Real Clear Politics:

NY-23 Poll: Hoffman +5

–>

For the second time in two days, a poll released by a conservative group finds Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman leading the Nov. 3 special election race for New York’s 23rd District. Neighborhood Research polled the district for Minuteman PAC, the political arm of the Minuteman Movement, which has endorsed Hoffman and is airing ads on his behalf.

Hoffman leads Democrat Bill Owens by 5 points and GOP nominee Dede Scozzafava by 20 points.

Hoffman 34

Owens 29

Scozzafava 14

Und 23

The poll was taken Oct. 25-26 of 366 likely voters. The three candidates are vying to replace former congressman John McHugh (R-N.Y.), who was appointed by President Obama to be Secretary of the Army.

This of course is great news and validates what Conservatives have been saying all along. When Republicans put up a real Conservative candidate, that candidate will win. Works every time it’s tried. Now obviously, with so many undecided this is not a done deal, but it certainly shows that being a conservative is what will win the day over being a squishy “moderate” or in DeDe Scozzafava’s case a far left DIABLO.

NY-23 is the rallying point for Conservative Americans, no matter what party they are in. As the latest Gallup polling shows, Conservative ideology is the leading ideology in America, and has been. Unfortunately, the GOP with it’s delusions of grandeur always has this “big tent” strategy of being all things to all people that only disappoints everyone.

This is not new though, this has been the basic GOP strategy for years and years. The few bright spots in GOP history are when brilliant Conservative leaders like Ronald Reagan emerge. Newt Gingrich, when he moved towards conservatism was able to break a forty year stranglehold the democrat party had on Congress, but alas, Newt has become another party “elite” squish.

Gingrich, who is being shown the truth about Scozzafava, has decided that rather than admit he was wrong, or just sort of fade into the background on this, that instead he would double down on DeDe and is now doing what the RINOs in the party do, attack Conservatives!

There are so many “gems” in this deal, but Newts reasoning that Scozzafava is “adequately conservative” is a joke, but it does give us an insight into how the “elite” party machine thinks. Scozzafava is far to the left of the democrat, but because she has an “R” beside her name she is “good enough.” Now this is a stupid strategy in a blue district or blue state, but NY-23 is a very safe Republican district that would absolutely vote for a Reagan/Palin conservative. There is no logic for this move.

Now the “elites” want us to sit down and shut up, as they know best. They say if a democrat wins, it will only strengthen Obama and Pelosi. Well, let me say this, if Scozzafava is going to vote like a democrat, what’s the difference?

We already have enough pretend Republicans in the party like John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Olympia Snow, and Susan Collins. Any one of this bunch is likely to be the key vote for the democrats on issues that anger Conservatives and damage America. But even more telling, any one of these, especially McCain and his protege Graham, like Newt, are more than inclined to attack Conservatives who disagree with their “wisdom” than they are democrats!

This bunch is the reason why recent polling shows that 73 percent of Republicans think the party is going in the wrong direction.

NY-23 is ground zero for the fight over the direction of Republican party. Of course, it is also ground zero as we start to take out nation back from Obama and the communists that are destroying this great nation. Having a Conservative win in New York should tell the GOP to stop with the foolishness and stand for something, and stop with their “big tent” strategy.

The fact is, Conservatism is the “big tent” and what people want are strong leaders not squishes!

A win in New York will also have a profound effect on democrats in Congress. While there are some that will go down in flames if it means they can advance the “glorious Marist revolution” there are others, the blue dogs, who would like to still have a job after the next election! A strong showing in New York will make those in the democrat party that have an ounce of sanity left think twice before they vote for Obama’s agenda!

As for Sarah Palin, she has emerged as the leader of our movement. While others were dithering and “thinking” or worse, backing the wrong horse, Sarah stepped up and took a stand. Sarah not only took a stand against Obama, but took a stand against those in the Republican party that have it wrong. That takes courage.

I know a lot of people see this as a signal that Sarah is “going rogue” and will start some third party. Don’t fall into that trap. Sarah is a student of Reagan and understands that a third party isn’t the answer. The answer is to take back the Republican party. Reagan, after Carter was elected, and Conservatives, were feeling marginalized by the Republican party. He cautioned that forming a new party as a mistake. Four years later, Reagan was proven correct, and it was the party “elite” who mounted a third party effort to get yet another “moderate” “big tent” squish elected.

As if to highlight the fact that she is indeed a Republican, but intent on showing the party elders the error of their ways, Sarah came out in strong support today for the Republicans in both the Virginia and New Jersey Governor’s races:

East Coast Races Impact All Americans

As I stand here in a high school gymnasium watching freshmen girls’ basketball games, I’m struck by the sight of America’s future right in front of me – these tenacious young women full of energy and intensity. I want them to realize every opportunity this great, free nation can provide.

There are big political races on the East Coast that are coming down to the wire – the results of which will impact policies and political actions that touch all of us in every state. Like other independent Americans, I don’t always see eye-to-eye with Republican political committees, so when I tell you that the Republican Governors Association has my complete support and confidence in its campaign efforts back East, know that I really mean it. The RGA is helping lead the conservative comeback beginning this year, and its involvement in the East Coast races is significant. I hope you’ll support these efforts, which are vital to the cause for America’s freedom and prosperity: http://www.rga.org/initiatives/comeback-fund/.

Let’s consider the governor’s race in New Jersey. The state has the highest tax burden in the country and the incumbent Democrat governor has only added to the economic burden. He eliminated property tax rebates for middle class homeowners while the sales tax increased. Altogether, taxes on the people in the region have increased by billions of dollars. It’s no surprise that New Jersey has the highest unemployment rate in the region! Thankfully, there is an alternative. Residents there will be better off under an administration that understands the benefits that result when workers are allowed to keep more of what they earn. Watch New Jersey’s economy come alive under new leadership that will put government back on the side of the people! Chris Christie promises this new leadership.

Fortunately, New Jersey’s Democrat governor is being held accountable with the RGA spending $7 million in the New York and Philadelphia media markets telling the truth about a liberal administrative record while highlighting New Jersey’s tax-hiking ways and reminding voters there is an alternative! The NY and Philly markets are the most expensive in the nation though, so the RGA is requesting help to stay on the air. Visit http://www.rga.org/initiatives/comeback-fund/.

Then in Virginia, there is a clear difference between Republican Bob McDonnell and his liberal opponent. Republican Bob McDonnell is fighting for cheaper American energy and lower taxes, while his opponent wants to raise taxes and, amazingly, even bragged about having more earmarks than any other state legislator. Bob McDonnell promises to fight for Virginia’s hard working families, and he opposes some heavy-handed union leadership efforts that could ultimately hurt employers and employees. The RGA has aired $6 million of TV ads exposing the liberal candidate’s record. I encourage you to help fight for our neighbors in the East by visiting: http://www.rga.org/initiatives/comeback-fund/.

Americans who believe in smaller government and free enterprise have a chance to show Washington that people all across the U.S. don’t want an ever-increasing national debt, more dependency on foreign energy sources, and more wasteful government spending. If, like me, this is what you want to show Washington, then I hope you’ll support Chris Christie and Bob McDonnell and the RGA, as great efforts are put forth in these East Coast races.

The young student athletes I’m watching right now are counting on us to do the right thing – to fight for what is right for America today and into their future. Electing candidates with common sense and respect for freedom is one way we can fight for what is right.

When Sarah stepped down as Governor of Alaska, one of the things she promised was that she would stand up for Conservative principles, and would spend her time going around the country supporting candidates who shared her values. She said it didn’t matter if they were Republicans, democrats, or from no party at all. It’s that principle over party attitude that we need in America right now.

Now is the time for all Americans to decide what they want America to be, where we want America to go. It is indeed a time for choosing.

Do we want America to remain a free Republic, a nation where a person’s own abilities and strengths are honored, a place where everyone who tries has the opportunity to succeed, or do we want a centrally controlled communist super state where little regard for personal liberties and freedoms exist. A Big Government nanny state where tyranny is the watchword of the day, and people are taxed into oblivion, while the government chooses winners and losers?

This isn’t a hard choice for me, I’ll tell you that! I stand on the side of liberty and freedom, and I stand on the side of Sarah Palin and Doug Hoffman!

Fred Thompson has a brand new advertisement that will be running in NY-23

This pretty much sums it up

Look, most of the nation is looking at the Governors races in Virginia and New Jersey as a bellwether to 2010. A referendum on Barack Obama and the rest of his communist party. And that it is. Obama won Virginia handily, and if the polling is correct, Bob McDonnell, the Conservative Republican candidate, is on his way to a landslide victory, a strong repudiation of what Obama is doing. And even New Jersey, a reliable democrat state is looking like it may elect the Republican, Chris Christie. That would be huge.

But the real battle, the real iconic election is NY-23. If Doug Hoffman’s polling holds, and he indeed wins this election, it will serve as proof that when voters are offered a clear choice between candidates, they will chose a Conservative. This should once and for all show the hard headed “elites” that running “adequately conservative” democrat-lite candidates is a losing strategy, and one that needs to stop!

Join Sarah Palin, Fred and Jeri Thompson, Dick Armey, myself, and a growing list Americans and support Doug Hoffman. Lets send a strong and clear message to the Republican party that “business as usual” just won’t cut it any more!

By winning in New York, we will start the process of taking the Republican party back from the “elite” beltway hacks and give it back to principled Americans who put their principles, their ideas, over party politics. A huge win for Conservatives, but even a bigger win for all of America. We need a strong Conservative Republican party to take America back, and get her on the right track again. We need a strong Conservative Republican party to drag America away from the abyss.

Visit Doug Hoffman’s website here, and send him a campaign contribution today. Let’s help Doug win!
