John Hayward: The Palin Uncertainty

At Human Events, John Hayward opines on the Palin slam that Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter tag-teamed up to perform Tuesday night on Fox News:

Judging the fortunes of political candidates from polls is a tricky business, especially those who have not formally declared yet. Is it a sign of strength or weakness that non-candidate Sarah Palin shows up in third place behind Rick Perry​ and Mitt Romney? Whatever that says about Palin, it’s probably a more significant data point for the declared candidates chugging in behind her. Personally, I would not find the notion that I could enter the Presidential race in third place to be depressing.

At any rate, people do change their minds.

In the wake of the conversation between Coulter and Ingraham, many bloggers echoed Coulter by expressing their exasperation with fans who can’t tolerate any criticism of Palin. I suspect Palin herself would strongly maintain that the issues at hand are far larger than any single person, and would not be happy with those who say they will only participate in the 2012 elections if they can vote for her. She also wouldn’t want the issues she cares about to be evaluated solely through personal admiration or disdain for her. Of all the many things Palin has been, or aspired to be, I’ve never heard her express a desire to become an ingredient in an ideological litmus test. She puts too much effort into writing and speaking eloquently, about matters of great substance, to be treated that way.

Why are so many Palin fans dedicated to her, and why do they perceive so much of the criticism leveled at her from sources on the Right as unfair? Because she’s always out in front. She took a mountain of abuse in 2008, and then cheerfully began climbing the even bigger mountain behind it. Hers is often the first voice raised in response to attacks against conservatives, the Tea Party, and middle-class Americans… especially against the really vicious attacks. And when Palin herself is the target, as in the wake of the Tucson atrocity, too many conservative and Republican “leaders” are much too slow to speak up for her.

Look at her response to James Hoffa’s vile remarks on Labor Day, and Barack Obama​’s agreeable silence afterward. She didn’t just run to a camera and express her outrage. She wrote a very detailed, thoughtful response, as constructive as it was fiery, and posted it in the wee hours of the morning. Did you see anything like that from the declared GOP presidential candidates? Why not?

Maybe Palin won’t run, and never seriously planned to. Maybe she will, but she’s taking a long time to make her announcement. She always said she wanted to see if there’s another candidate she could support. Tonight will be the first big debate appearance of Rick Perry, the last big name to join the race. He had a pretty spectacular campaign launch. Is it so unreasonable for Palin to wait a bit longer and see how he fares, once his campaign reaches orbit? If she’s a non-factor, why are so many people – pro and con – being so unreasonable about her?

Tony Lee: Top Ten Ways the GOP Establishment and Mainstream Media Try to Dissuade Sarah Palin From Running For President

Wednesday Tony Lee listed ten signs that Sarah Palin is running for President. In today’s second installment of his series, Lee chronicles the top 10 ways the GOP establishment and the Democrat/Media Complex try to dissuade Gov. Palin from running. We’ve excerpted the first three:

1. Be a kingmaker (or queenmaker)

As noted by the likes of Grover Norquist and many other pundits and establishment Republicans, Palin, their reasoning goes, would best serve the party as a kingmaker. What they are essentially saying (try to follow the logic) is that Palin’s endorsement should be the gold standard but her candidacy would not be appreciated. Even more ironic is that should Palin run, it diminishes the kingmaking capabilities of the traditional and spoiled cast of characters who are used to getting their brass rings kissed every four years.

2. Make money and be a celebrity

Andrew Breitbart recently told GQ Magazine that Palin would give up the chance to be the next Oprah should she run for President. This line of “persuasion” has also been thrown out by many, which essentially says Palin should lose millions if she threw her hat into the 2012 ring.

But if Palin were the type of candidate who would run solely to increase her earning power, it would actually be her incentive to run for the presidency in 2012.

3. You’re too divisive

Another argument is that Palin would be too divisive to win a general election. And the only thing those who say this cite are polls released over a year before any voter of importance started paying attention to the election. In these early polls, there is probably some type of Palin effect (or a reverse-Bradley/Wilder effect), as Sheya at Conservatives4Palin noted, where voters either do not want to tell pollsters they support Palin for fear they would sound stupid or are withholding their potential support until she announces her candidacy, if she indeed does.

Further, as Pollinsider noted, Palin always has a strong floor, which potentially helps her in the primary (if the GOP primary has many entrants) and the general election (2012 may be a “base” election like 2004 where turnout matters, so the floor that Palin starts off with would give her significant advantages over other candidates who do not have that built in floor).

Why Karl Rove is childishly mocking Gov. Palin

Karl Rove, the architect of a Bush presidency that saw its approval numbers drop to 28 percent in 2008 (the same as Jimmy Carter’s in 1979), is now the spokesman for the Bush wing of the Republican Party, also known as the GOP establishment. The political left, which hated Rove with a purple passion when he was in the White House, now gleefully quotes him every time he takes a swipe at the Tea Party and Sarah Palin. Rove knows full well that every time he swings his Louisville Slugger at her, the Democrat/Media Complex will give his words sufficient amplification to reach every television, radio and internet connection in the western world.

With this in mind, in an interview with the hard left New York Magazine, Rove went back to the schoolyard to engage in childish mockery of Gov. Palin. He knew that this tactic would be a big hit with the political left because the tenor of leftist attacks on Reagan conservatives often resembles the taunts of middle school bullies on their worst behavior.

The governor’s recently-hired chief of staff’s comments, when asked if Sarah Palin would like to have Rove available as an advisor, highlight the battle lines that have been drawn within the Grand Old Party:

Does the next candidate of the GOP want the mark of “Bush’s Brain” on their candidacy? To alienate the tea party by ?cozying up to the elitist Rasputin?

Certainly not Sarah Palin. “Of all the potential candidates, Governor Palin would no doubt be the one desiring new energy and ideas,” says her chief of staff Michael Glassner, “and, refreshingly, hiring advisers who aren’t entrenched in any political machine.”

Townhall.com’s Guy Benson observes:

Glassner’s comments certainly leave the distinct impression that Palin is gearing up for a run, do they not? (1) Taking a shot at a possible future adversary is par for the course in early presidential skirmishes, and (2) how many non-politician pundits have chiefs of staff bragging to reporters about the quality and independence of the advisers they’re hiring?

If Palin gets in, and Rove makes it his mission to stop her, Republicans should brace for a historic rumble. Democrats would likely enjoy every minute of the internecine feud, but would be well-served to remember that a nasty, protracted intra-party fight does not guarantee political success for the opposing party.

The competition between grassroots libertarian-leaning conservatives and establishment Republicans goes back much earlier than the week before the 2010 mid-term election, when Rove, seemingly from out of deep left field, abruptly attacked Gov. Palin for her eight-week TLC series “Sarah Palin’s Alaska.” It also goes far to the southwest of the Washington Beltway, all the way to the heart of the Lone Star State.

Over two years ago, then Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, with the support of the Bush wing of the GOP, challenged Rick Perry for the governorship of Texas. Unlike the Bushies, who feared the grassroots phenomenon known as the Tea Party, Perry embraced the movement:

What resulted was a preview of the GOP–versus–tea party civil war. Dave ­Carney, Perry’s top strategist, attacked Rove as a “country club” Republican. Conversely, ­Sarah Palin, tea-party heroine, endorsed Rick Perry, calling him a “true conservative.”

Perry handily destroyed Hutchison in the primary.

“The Bushes are out of contact with what Texas is about,” says a veteran Republican politico who is close friends with Rick Perry. “So is Karl.”

Rove is the embodiment of everything the tea party resents. He supported Bush’s decision to bail out the banks in 2008, a major bone of contention with deficit hawks. And it was Rove, as White House political adviser, who pushed for some of the most expensive Bush programs, like the ­Medicare-prescription-drug bill, the passage of which cornered the troublesome State of Florida for Bush in 2004 but has already cost more than $1 trillion. The national debt nearly doubled under Bush, from $5.7 trillion to $10.6 trillion.

Hutchison’s devastating loss hit Rove hard, as he was working behind the scenes on her behalf, and her campaign’s dismal failure put a large dent in the Rovian myth of invincibility. Though he has long labored to build a power base from which to control GOP politics in the post-Bush era, Rove lost a lot of followers along the way and now faces some serious competition:

…the Koch brothers, David and Charles, the major tea-party underwriters who are promising to raise $88 million for the presidential elections, posing a populist alternative to Rove’s Establishment stronghold and making inroads with their support of Governor Scott Walker in Wisconsin and funding of counterprotests there. It’s not inconsequential: Major Republican donors told me they were disappointed by Rove’s comments about Palin. “He’s not right all the time,” one of them noted.

The Brothers Koch, like many conservatives, were sorely disappointed in the Bush presidency as administered by Rove. The Bush tax cuts were an outstanding achievement, but the failure to couple them with corresponding cuts in federal spending are a major reason why the deficit doubled under Bush. That the Bush deficits quadrupled under Barack Obama in less than two years time just rubs salt into the wing.

Like Sarah Palin, the Kochs have a libertarian streak, which explains their support of the Cato Institute, and though no clear lines have yet been drawn between the brothers and Gov. Palin, it’s interesting that they own oil refineries in Texas and Alaska and control about four thousand miles of pipeline. The two are into paper products as well. Just a few of the familiar products produced by companies they own are Brawny towels, Dixie cups and Georgia-Pacific lumber. Surely the well-known Palin libertarian streak is an asset the brothers must find appealing, and the fact that the Bushies hate her so much likely doesn’t hurt her standing in the eyes of the Kochs.

One thing is certain: if the Koch brothers are favorably disposed toward a Palin presidential run, the large donor requirement will not be a problem for the 2008 vice presidential candidate in 2012. It’s not just their own money which could help fuel a Palin candidacy. A number of other major donors will lay down their contributions where they see the brothers putting theirs. No wonder “progressives” are so afraid of the political influence of the Koch Brothers. The left has recently launched a campaign to make sure that the pair are cited frequently as the focus of evil which stands against every imaginable liberal policy issue. George Soros may have met his match, and Karl Rove most certainly has met his.

Rush Limbaugh on the Politico anti-Palin hit piece

Rush had Politico’s Allen-Van DeHei hit piece on Gov. Palin pegged before it ever hit the web or the wires. On his Friday show, the king of the talk show hosts called it:

“Now, folks, I want to tell you something here. I saw that… Where did I see this? Oh! Oh! I didn’t have a chance to reply to it. I got an e-mail from Mike Allen of The Politico last night. They’re working on a story; they may have already run it.”

“Some Republican leader has told them that the Republican leadership is right now as we speak coalescing to find somebody to oppose Sarah Palin. They didn’t identify whoever this ‘Republican leader is,’ so I can’t tell you who it is, but they say that there’s a Republican talking to them at Politico that they are trying to find somebody to beat back Palin, from the Republican establishment, because they are convinced that if Palin is the nominee, the party loses. That’s, at least, what they say. It could also be they’re scared to death that Palin wins it’s the end of them: The Republican establishment.”

“Mike Allen wanted to take my reply, and I got his e-mail in the midst of a whole bunch other stuff. I just now remembered it so I haven’t had a chance to reply. But let’s see. This kind of thing, I think the reason I didn’t drop everything and reply is ’cause the little antenna go up. It could be a disinformation campaign before the election. Why write a story right now about Palin in 2012? What’s the point of running a story like that right now if not then to sow dissension in the ranks?”

Sarah Palin Takes On All Climategate Deniers

Whew! Man, that Sarah Palin sure has started a real firestorm now that she has attacked the Holy Church of Global Warming! It’s one thing to knock ObamaCare on it’s backside, there are only billions of dollars in payoffs and corruption riding on that deal. But the global warming hustle truly is the whole enchilada!

Not billions, but trillions of dollars will change hands. Government control like you’ve never even dreamed of will come to pass. Taxes will flow into incompetent government hands like never before. Energy will “necessarily skyrocket.”

Of course, the real story is all of the money that will be made trading “carbon credits.” Al Gore, the Bernie Madoff of the climate change movement, has made hundreds of millions of dollars already off this scam, and stands to make billions.

As I wrote in an earlier piece, Obama and his friends also stand to make out like bandits if cap and trade laws are enacted. The Chicago Climate Exchange is already up and running, and ready to go when all of these insane laws are enacted. Of course, being Chicago, there is absolutely, positively no corruption going on with this deal. Uh huh. There’s this bridge for sale that you just must see if you believe that one!

Just to bring everyone up to speed. If you remember the failed, disgraced Governor from California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, decided to go off on Sarah for her resent stance on the hoax, the greatest lie ever told. Sarah, in what is her usual style, fired right back with this:

Greener Than Thou?

Why is Governor Schwarzenegger pushing for the same sorts of policies in Copenhagen that have helped drive his state into record deficits and unemployment? Perhaps he will recall that I live in our nation’s only Arctic state and that I was among the first governors to create a sub-cabinet to deal specifically with climate change. While I and all Alaskans witness the impacts of changes in weather patterns firsthand, I have repeatedly said that we can’t primarily blame man’s activities for those changes. And while I did look for practical responses to those changes, what I didn’t do was hamstring Alaska’s job creators with burdensome regulations so that I could act “greener than thou” when talking to reporters.

BOOM, taste my nightstick! (What!?! You KNOW we’re gonna go to that one early and often!)

Sarah has what is probably the most reasonable stance there is on the whole notion of climate change. Being someone in a position of power she honestly didn’t have the luxury to just call these liars out and blow them off. And, as someone who spent time as her state’s chief energy and environmental regulator, Sarah knows more than the average politician and humble blogger about the subject.

Climate change may be happening, but the climate on earth has a history of changing. The earth is millions of years old, for goodness sake! We’ve had heat waves and ice ages. All before man even existed! Obviously if the entire earth was covered in ice, and we now have places where it is not, there was some significant warming.

Anyhow, one failed California Governor pwned.

But why did Arnold even bother to speak up? What prompted all of this? Well, as always, follow the money! Our friend and colleague, The Might Serf, went to town on this one and found some fascinating information:

Schwarzenegger vs. Palin: Arnold has no credibility

In an interview with George Stephanopoulos, from the COP15 Climate Summit in Copenhagen, Governor Schwarzenegger took a swipe at Governor Palin. He was asked about her editorial published in the Washington Post last week. He replied:

“You have to ask: what was she trying to accomplish? Is she really interested in this subject or is she interested in her career and in winning the nomination? You have to take all these things with a grain of salt.

Tack on “mind reader” to Arnie’s long list professional talents…

Not only is that conjecture on his part, it’s also a convenient way to avoid the subject matter and deal with what she said. Arnold deflects the debate, as is common with the global warming faithful and turns it into a ‘what’s Palin going to do next’ moment.

Then he goes on to say:

We in California have proven it over and over that you can protect the economy, and you can protect the environment.” …

I don’t think you have to choose. I think it is nonsense talk to say let’s talk first about the economy.

Either Arnold needs advisors that don’t lie to him or he has a serious literacy issue. The last time I checked, the statewide California unemployment rate was at 12.3 percent. With the highest rated area, a town about forty minutes east of where I’m sitting, called El Centro at 22.6 percent.

The report goes on to say:

As a Californian who happens to believe that we are in a current trend of “global cooling” (and yes, lefties that also is a “change” in climate) and also someone forced to live under the green foot of my state government, I got a little more joy from that post than some.

She correctly points out the economic mess California is in and accurately points to one of the main culprits. Arnold keeps talking about these “green jobs” (sounds familiar) but when you look at the numbers I posted above, the small number of positions that open up in the market aren’t enough to even put a small dent into those figures.

When my car can run off of algae, we may see a boost in the green economy. Until then, realize what makes an economy work and what doesn’t. Like new regulations and laws for instance… Those are instant job killers. If you mandate small businesses that are already stretched too thin, they will lay off workers. They don’t have a choice. In business, you do whatever it takes to make it to the next month.

Now, to the “why” in Governor Palin’s statement.

I remember when Arnold Schwarzenegger spent his time trying to convince American’s that they should buy a Hummer. Well those days are long gone and a new Climate Crusader has emerged in place of that carbon spewing truck peddler.

Schwarzenegger is now one of the most outspoken global warming alarmists in public office today. He has dramatically steered this state toward more “green” centered policies, programs, and worst of all, mandates. So did he have an epiphany? Did his wife’s family convince him over turkey dinner during the holidays?

Probably not, but I believe Robert Kennedy, his wife’s cousin, has everything to do with Arnold’s conduct in regards to environmental policies.

Robert Kennedy is not only the governor’s relative but he is also one of Arnold’s closest advisors, even if he does serve in an unofficial capacity. The two of them can be seen at various press announcements and environmental meetings talking about their great plans to reconstruct California into a “green economy.”

There’s just one problem with that… A slight conflict of interest arises when one looks over the contracts and plans Californians will be forking money over for in these deals. Robert Kennedy is a Venture Partner and Senior Advisor for a company called VantagePoint Venture Partners. VantagePoint has a multimillion-dollar stake in a company called BrightSource, who produces solar technology. BrightSource has lobbied to build a massive energy project in the Mojave Desert. The project would provide power to 142,000 homes and cost about $2 billion. BrightsSource hopes to build three solar-powered plants situated on land near the Nevada-California borders. As Schwarzenegger told a joint conference of Mexican and U.S. governors, “They’re going to blanket the world with solar panels.”

Last year Governor Schwarzenegger also announced a plan to build a massive electric vehicle grid that would cover most of California. At the press conference in San Francisco, Robert Kennedy said “Creating an energy-independent economy is our generation’s moon-shot.” Whatever “moon-shot” means, I don’t know but I don’t like it. He also said “For too long we’ve believed that economy and environment stood at odds with each other. By coming together in this time of turmoil to build a clean transportation infrastructure, this generation will fuel the economic and environmental prosperity of generations to come.” Given the fact that Robert attended that conference as a representative of VantagePoint, you better believe they are looking to rake in millions from the deal.

In fact, there is an overwhelming amount of information out there that points to Governor Schwarzenegger’s real motives in pushing a “green” economy. It’s all about money and it has little to do with the environment. As is usually the case when it comes to the big names in the Climate Change “movement.” Just do a quick search into Al Gore’s finances to see how philanthropic that guy really is. I’ll go out on a limb here and call the man a profiteer.

As far as Governor Palin’s motives behind publishing words of warning and giving Obama advice (good advice) on environmental matters… She’s trying to help the country. Nothing else. She has no financial ties or personal ties to an industry that stands to heavily profit from the outcome of the Copenhagen Summit. In fact, I’ve done a lot of research into Governor Palin’s background and connections… I’ve linked her up to the Rotary Club and the NRA. That’s it.

By the way, for any of you that still think Arnold resides on the right, politically speaking. The left-wing Annenberg Foundation, helped cover the bill for his trip to Copenhagen through a California State Protocol Foundation grant. I wonder if Robert made the journey too???

Regular readers of this website will recognize the name Annenberg Foundation straightaway. This is the very same Annenberg Foundation that gave the unrepentant murdering domestic terrorist William Ayers, and his good old buddy Barack Obama $60 million dollars for “education,” which Ayers and Obama then in turn gave to radical groups like ACORN, you know, “for the children.”

Look, Schwarzenegger is married to a “Kennedy.” That alone makes him suspect on many levels, but it’s not really all that hard to figure out what is going on here.

Whole lot of corruption goin’ on ‘round here!

Now….As we talked about before, Sarah’s two Op-Eds she wrote for the Washington Post were some of the most read of the entire year. The one she wrote in July on the subject of global warming was the third most read. Predictably, the loons have lost their minds over this! In the world of the democrat/communist, dissenting thought, and differences of opinion, simply are not tolerated, and most certainly not written.

The Washington Post has, of course, been savaged for allowing that woman to sully the pages of their fine paper. The reaction by the crazies has been hilarious, well worth the time to observe. These people’s entire lives are based on lies, and they can’t justify themselves. Liberalism is one of those things that simply cannot withstand the light of day, or hockey moms from Wasilla, Alaska.

So, WaPo trots out their resident hack, Eugene Robinson, to satisfy the moonbats. What could go wrong?

I’d like to thank Eugene Robinson for highlighting Alaska’s achievements on climate change [“Palin’s own ‘Climate- gate,’” op-ed, Dec. 15] and for noting that I’ve “treated the issue as serious, complex, and worthy of urgent attention,” while making “any number of pragmatic, reasonable, smart decisions as governor.” But he’s wrong to suggest that my views have somehow changed or that now I’ll have to “renounce” my past efforts.

Once again: I don’t deny that climate change is real. In creating a sub-cabinet to deal specifically with the issue, I said that “Alaska’s climate change strategy must be built on sound science and the best available facts and must recognize Alaska’s interest in economic growth and the development of its resources.” That goal made sense to me then, and it makes sense to me now.

Mr. Robinson tries to make hay out of the fact that I asked the group to advise me regarding opportunities to participate in “carbon-trading markets.” But considering voluntary participation in carbon-trading programs is much different from endorsing the economically disastrous cap-and-tax proposals put forward by Democrats in Washington. Those proposals will burden our job creators and raise energy prices for all of us, and that’s why I oppose them.

As governor of Alaska, I sought common-sense solutions that took real-world costs and benefits into account. That’s what I’m looking for now. But that’s not what’s on the table in Washington or in Copenhagen.

Obviously, Sarah has hoisted this entire bunch of nimrods by their own petards. It’s glorious to watch a politician who will actually fight back when these liars in the media and RINOs attack. I certainly wish President George Bush, an honorable and decent man, would have had ½ the spunk this gal from Alaska has. The entire world might be different today. (sigh)

Of course, what’s a good story about taking the global warming hoaxers to the woodshed without some real meat and potatoes. As you know the Climategate scandal was uncovered in Russia where, ironically, their media is open, and relatively honest.

ClimateGate Just Got Much, Much Bigger

Over at ICECAP.us Meteorologist Joe D’Aleo has posted an item on a “Russian Bombshell” highly relevant to the ClimateGate scandal. The Russian media first posted the story and now some Brits are loving it.

The long and the short of it is best summarized by the Telegraph’s James Dellingpole: “What the Russians are suggesting here, in other words, is that the entire global temperature record used by the IPCC to inform world government policy is a crock.”

That is, we have yet further evidence that the data is being cooked to make the long-running claim of an increase in global temperatures, and now to diminish the apparent cooling of said temps. As the gang at EU referendum tout, “it is in Soviet Union that the CRU, NOAA, NASA show the greatest warming.”

Around the world temperature stations have been widely decommissioned in rural and higher elevations, and we see an over-emphasis on increasingly urbanized (and therefore warmer) stations in the curious selection process as to what temperatures should count, and how much. The latter point references the fact that the data is then adjusted, and we are also seeing an increase in adjusting urbanized (that is, artificially warm) temperature records not down, but upward.

On Tuesday, the Moscow-based Institute of Economic Analysis (IEA) issued a report claiming that the Hadley Center for Climate Change based at the headquarters of the British Meteorological Office in Exeter (Devon, England) had probably tampered with Russian-climate data.

The IEA believes that Russian meteorological-station data did not substantiate the anthropogenic global-warming theory. …The data of stations located in areas not listed in the Hadley Climate Research Unit Temperature UK (HadCRUT) survey often does not show any substantial warming in the late 20th century and the early 21st century.

The HadCRUT database includes specific stations providing incomplete data and highlighting the global-warming process, rather than stations facilitating uninterrupted observations. …

IEA analysts say climatologists use the data of stations located in large populated centers that are influenced by the urban-warming effect more frequently than the correct data of remote stations.

The reason this cherry-picking is relevant — as is the apparent similar gamesmanship being played with other countries examined in recent days including China and New Zealand — because our NOAA compiles the global dataset and the rest work from it. So when CRU claimed that it “lost” its raw data, what they’re saying is the claim to have lost which stations they chose from NOAA’s compilation, making it impossible for those who wish to check it to discern how they got the answer they did.

If it is what it appears to be, and my dozen years working with these people and the past few weeks peeking further inside thanks to ClimateGate tell me that it is, then this is root-cause corruption.

Meanwhile, they are scrambling madly to stitch up an agreement in Copenhagen politically committing the U.S. to the long-desired wealth-transfer. The question is which moves faster, the collapse of the increasingly likely scientific fraud, or the global governance set.

Look, there are a lot of links there, and in incredible amount of information that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that pretty much all of the information used by the global warming hoaxers is not only faulty, but an absolute lie. You simply must take time to investigate them.

These dishonest scientists have cooked the books, withheld and manipulated data to suit their needs, all in an effort to pull off the greatest scam in history. The greatest lie ever told.

This is the Loch Ness Monster, Big Foot, and UFOs on a global scale! Why? Money, of course. All of these scientists make money off of government and private foundation grants. No crisis, no funding. No funding and you have a lot of “climate scientists” working at McDonald’s asking you if you want fries with that, which is probably where they belong.

And of course, there is power. Look at all of the power that would be wielded if this wasn’t a hoax, and we allowed measures to fight this mythical beast to be put in place. It would be enormous.

The bottom line is this: The climate exists, that’s indisputable. The climate changes, well…duh! Live in Texas and you may see all 4 seasons in one day! That’s real climate change.

But seriously, the climate indeed changes, that’s why the marketing managers over at Big Global Warming, and Big Government, changed the name to “climate change” once it got out that the earth had actually been in a cooling mode since the mid 1990’s. Thus Big Climate was born.

There is no credible data though, that man can cause the climate to change. Now, can man screw up his local environment? You bet’cha! For example, the environmental whack jobs have turned America’s breadbasket, the San Joaquin Valley of California into a desert because of a minnow. Millions of acres of land that used to feed the world, literally, is now a dust bowl, all because man has screwed with nature.

The answer to this sort of thing is to allow the states, not the federal government, to regulate the activities of the insane. This also goes for those who pollute, and well, even litter. We all want a clean world, a healthy world. But we also want a world that places a premium on liberty and freedom. A world were we, the individual, are what matters, not Big Government, Big Climate, Or Big Al Gore.

As the wheels start to come off of the global warming hoax wagon, men like Al Gore, who has bored us to death with his inane braying, need to be rounded up and jailed. The same goes for politicians and officials who have pushed these lies on the world.

There is simply no way to measure the amount of blood and treasure that has been lost in pursuit of this hoax. Industries destroyed, jobs lost, and lives destroyed. We could be talking about trillions of dollars, but how can one even measure the destruction these liars have caused?

Well, for now, we have a few brave souls, like Sarah Palin, who has the power of her position as the true American leader, to take these people and their lies on. Thank God for that.

Sarah Palin: Joyful Warrior, Joyful Leader

A friend sent me the photo above a week ago last Saturday under the heading “Sarah enjoying some global warming!” The photo was taken that morning in Fairfax, Virginia as she arrived at one of her huge book signing events. Later that evening she would go on to be a real sensation at the Gridiron Club’s dinner, as one of the keynote speakers, along with Congressman Barney Frank. An event that surprised her critics and wowed her supporters.

Now being the hack that I am, and the global warming hoax being something we have been trying to expose since day one, and of course, knowing Sarah’s own stance on the issue, and well, I knew this photo could see a lot of use!

And why not? This is a great photo!

Well, that kinda became the point, to me.

You see, the more I looked at this photo, the more I realized the photographer had really done something. The photographer had managed to capture the essence of Sarah Palin, the thing that has so many millions admiring her.

Let’s face it, the camera loves Sarah Palin. You rarely find a bad photo of her, but this one hit me as special. The more I looked at the photo, the more the photo kept my attention.

I’ll be straight up here. I look at a lot of photos, every day, of all kinds of things. Most of them I either like, or I don’t. It takes me seconds to figure out if they are keepers, or not. Some hit me as strong and powerful, some just pleasant, funny, or somehow “right” for particular piece I am writing. But this photo stopped me dead in my tracks.

Now let me get the obvious out of the way first: Sarah Palin is a strikingly beautiful woman. In fact, all of the photos from her Fairfax visit have made the guys happy! As you look at this photo, you see that Sarah is really quite a strong figure. Here she is in all black, save the hat, all 5ft 6 inches of her slender frame, looking every bit the fashion model, high heels and all. It’s no wonder that soon after she became Governor of Alaska, Vogue magazine sent a team up there to do a cover shoot with her.

I’m reminded of the popular Alaskan t-shirts and bumper stickers that proudly proclaim “The coldest state, with the hottest Governor!

All of that was, of course, before Sarah became a national figure. It was OK, even with the dishonest and corrupt national media, to absolutely love Sarah Palin, and salute her as a transformative leader, as long as she stayed in Alaska! But take the girl from the frozen tundra, and all of a sudden this once praised feminist leader, this highly successful wife, mother, reformer, and Governor, becomes “evil!”

Once you realize just how much things have changed in Sarah’s life since the day that Senator John McCain called her and asked if she’d like to help him “change the world” this photo takes on even more meaning. Now like all of us, Sarah’s life wasn’t perfect. She’d had her ups and downs, triumphs and tragedies. But by any measure you want to use, Sarah Palin was, and is, a highly successful woman.

Oh sure, the Alaska Republican Party hates her, with a passion, but that’s because she took many party members down, over corruption. So corrupt that I am reminded of one of the great quotes from Mel Brooks’ original film, The Producers when, at the trial, the jury reads it’s verdict: “We, the people, find the defendants incredibly guilty!” They were that kind of guilty!

So…..some tension was to be expected!

But overall, the Alaskan people were more than just pleased with their choice as Governor. Sarah Palin’s approval rating was in the high 80’s before Obama, Pete Rouse, and the Alaska Mafia started their shenanigans. Again, incredibly successful, by any measure.

Once Sarah was picked as McCain’s running mate though, all that is ugly, vile, and hateful about the left, and they really do have the market cornered on that stuff, came to bear on Sarah. I’ve thought long and hard, and I really cannot think of anyone who has been attacked as viciously as Sarah Palin.

The left attacked Sarah, her husband, her children, especially her youngest son, Trig. In this, the left truly outdid itself. The word evil just doesn’t do some of these people and their attacks justice. And these attacks are ongoing, even to this day.

And yet, after the most concentrated, vile, hate filled attacks on a person we’ve ever witnessed, here is Sarah Palin, this strong and strikingly beautiful woman, out in the snow, in Fairfax, Virginia, loving life to it’s fullest!

You see that all of the lies, hate, filth, and unprecedented attacks on Sarah and her family, have had absolutely no effect on this wonderful woman’s spirit. If anything, they have only strengthened her resolve. Made her a little more powerful. Made her a little more “dangerous” to all of those who hate freedom and liberty. You know, the democrats!

The left, and yes, even some on the right, were stunned when Sarah stepped down as Governor, handing the ball off to her very capable Lt. Governor, Sean Parnell. Some simply didn’t understand what was going on up there in Alaska, even though Sarah’s July 3rd Independence Speech was quite clear about the situation.

When you have a group of people, headed by the President of the United States, out to destroy you, your family, and your state, in any and every way possible, you have two choices: You either allow them to destroy you and everything you love, or you take drastic and dramatic action. And dramatic action is what Sarah took.

For those that don’t know, Pete Rouse, then Barack Obama’s campaign chief-of-staff, and now a White House adviser, not only played an active role in the so-called “Troopergate” witch hunt, or as Sarah calls it “Tazergate,” he had an active role in the rest of the attacks, as well.

When Obama’s thugs failed to destroy Sarah with “Tazergate,” named for the fact that her ex-brother-in-law Trooper Michael Wooten, among other things, tazered his step son, Sarah’s nephew, seemingly for the hell of it, Rouse then worked with the various far left extremists in Alaska, including the bloggers, and other undesirables, to recruit people to continually file bogus ethics complaints, exploiting ethics laws that allow absolutely anyone to complain about anything.

As we know, all of these complaints have been dismissed as unfounded, but in the process, this ran up Sarah’s own personal legal bill to over a half million dollars. The state does not defend it’s executive from bogus attacks. Alaska is unique in this fashion.

Also, unique to the executive is this: While it is against the law to discuss or publicize any of these complaints, until they are resolved, the hate bloggers, Jeanne Devon and Shannyn Moore, who contribute the radical left wing rag, the Huffington Post, along with Linda Kellen Biegel, the democrat/communist party’s “official blogger for Alaska” and various other smear merchants would publish the details of the complaints all over the internet, many times before the complaints were even officially filed.

Of course, the dishonest and corrupt Obamacentric national media would run with these complaints like they had struck gold. All of this illegal under Alaska law, but, and this is what makes the entire ethics process a joke, there is absolutely no punishment for those who break this law. Even better, while one can file complaints willy-nilly against legislators too, if you break any of the laws, like confidentiality laws, the complaint is automatically dismissed and no further consideration given to the complainant. They are protected, but the Governor, and their staff, are not!

But, with all of the personal havoc Obama and his Chicago thug tactics were causing Sarah, that paled to what it was causing the Alaska tax payer. These complaints had basically shut Sarah’s administration down. Her staff spent much of their time dealing with Freedom of Information Act requests, including the well publicized fishing expedition by blogger Linda Kellen Biegel, who talked her readers out of a considerable amount of money so she could pursue all of Sarah’s e-mails, just looking to harass her. So far, that has not been money well spent, but that’s another story.

The bottom line on all of this is, in less than six months, Obama’s Alaska Mafia had cost the Alaska tax payers a whopping $2 million! Basically, these thugs, using typical Chicago, Saul Alinsky tactics, had, up to that point, stolen $2 million from the Alaskan people, and as we looked at it, at the time, reading the leftist blogs, and knowing these online terrorists we going to keep on filing complaints to the bitter end, we figured that these terrorists, and make no mistake, that’s what they are, were on track to cost Alaska’s hard working tax payers as much as $10 million dollars, had she stayed for the last year of her term.

So, to all but the silliest among us, Sarah did the right thing, the honorable thing, and stepped down. Now of course, her critics went into attack mode, how she “quit when the going got tough” and all of that jazz. Since then, every action Sarah has taken, has proven that little theory dead wrong.

In fact, Sarah jumped out of the pan, and into the fire. She has been more outspoken than ever, and more effective, too! As far as I am concerned, the moves by Obama to drive Sarah out of office will go down in history as one of the greatest political and tactical blunders of all time.

As Governor, Sarah was highly restricted. It was hard to leave the state, not only because of the great distances to the lower 48, but also because of the loons who always had a complaint filed when she did. It was impossible for her to write a book, for money, or give paid speeches due to Alaska’s strict rules. Another thing, Obama and his people had turned the once relatively cordial Alaskan political scene into a virtual state of war. So, as Governor, Sarah was careful in her criticism of the Dear Leader.

When you hear Sarah say that “politics changed” once she was chosen by McCain, this is what she is talking about.

We all know, as a private citizen, Sarah has been anything but quiet! She has been a constant thorn in Obama’s side. She has taken on the unconstitutional power grab, disguised as “health care reform” and she has hit Obama on energy policy, and monetary policy. She’s been quoted world wide on all. Recently, her sights have been set on crook, liar, and global warming hoaxer extraordinaire, Al Gore, the Bernie Madoff of the climate change crowd, as the entire global warming hoax collapses at his feet.

Sarah has certainly not run from the fight!

They want me to sit down and shut up. Politically speaking, if I die, I die, but I’ll know that I’ve spoken up. Stand up, speak up and be bold! Screw political correctness, never let them tell you to sit down, never let them tell you to shut up!

This brings me back to this simple, but magnificent moment in Virginia, caught on film. When I look at this photo, I see a supremely confident and virile woman. A woman who truly has the bull by the horns. A woman filled with unbelievable vitality. A woman who is in charge. A woman who wields great power.

You know what else I see? I see joy.

Sarah Palin is a happy, joyful woman, and that my friends, is the key to the whole thing. Here is a lady who has had the very worst the hatemongers of the world have to offer up thrown at her. I mean for one year solid the most vile of attacks have come her way. Most people would have stepped back, and maybe went underground for awhile, and certainly, no one could have blamed Sarah had she, herself, taken that route. But obviously, this is a woman who simply isn’t built that way.

Instead, Sarah is the team captain who would lead her high school basketball team to a state championship, playing on a broken ankle, and scoring the final game winning points. This is the young wife who, while working in the rough world of commercial fishing, had an accident that would crush her hand, sending her to the hospital, only to see her return right back to work that day.

This is the PTA mom who thought she could make a difference in her hometown and would eventually turn into a crusader against corruption as both a city councilwoman and two term mayor. This is a woman, who after being appointed the to powerful job as the state’s chief energy and environmental regulator, saw massive corruption not only in the industry she regulated, but within her own political party as well.

Unlike many of those around her, Sarah not only didn’t look away, she actively pursued justice. When it became apparent the sitting Governor, her boss, himself a Republican, would continue to block her efforts to bring those corrupt officials to justice, Sarah did what had to be done. She made the tough choice to resign and as a private citizen, take these people on. This of course, is why she is public enemy number one among the Republican Party “elites” both in Alaska and nationally. She upset a lot of apple carts in her quest to end the corruption. Kept the FBI, the courts, and the prison system in business too!

This would lead Sarah to the Governorship, and her accomplishments as Governor most certainly speak for themselves, as do the consistently high approval ratings. The highest for any Governor in the nation.

In fact, at the height of the attacks by Obama, Inc, just before her resignation, when her approval ratings eventually slipped out of the stratosphere, and came back to more earthly numbers, the left celebrated to no end that she was finally no longer the most popular Governor in America. And all it took was a constant and coordinated effort from the White House and the entire corrupt media, daily, for almost a solid year! When she left office her approval was still about 25 points higher than Obama’s is now! (And he has the most glowing press imaginable)

With all of this going on around her, just how was Sarah able to maintain her strength and remain so joyful about life?

Sarah speaks about her faith in God often. Unlike other politicians who seem to be afraid of becoming labeled as a religious extremist for daring to mention their faith, Sarah readily speaks of the strength and guidance she receives from God’s word, and how this strength and guidance serves her as she goes through life. How this helps her as a leader. As with most Americans, faith is the strong foundation that Sarah builds her life upon.

Sarah recently visited with the Reverend Billy Graham and his son Franklin. During this visit Sarah set down for an interview and discussed how her faith guides her. This is a great interview that you can see here.

It’s very important for a leader to be humble enough to say “I don’t have all of the answers.”

Since leaving office, Sarah has written a best selling book, one that has broken records. The day the book was announced, and online retailers like Barnes&Noble and Amazon offered it up for pre-orders, it became the number one best seller at both retailers, and soon other retailers would see it hit the top of their charts, as well.

The publisher, HarperCollins, has went from an initial printing of 1.5 million, to the announcement that, so far, they have a total of 3 million books ordered for print. They are saying
this is the best selling book of the year. By the way, if you don’t have this book, you really are missing out on something special.

Sarah’s book tour has been nothing short of phenomenal. For the very first stop, in Michigan, people lined up 36 hours ahead of time, just for a spot in line to meet her. They slept outside in cold weather, braved the elements, just for the chance to get a few seconds of time with the Arctic Fox, as well as her autograph, and maybe a handshake. It’s been like this at every stop along the way. Thousands have lined up in support. Most wishing her success if she runs for President of the United States, and many convinced they had just met the next President of the United States!

As Bill O’Reilly put it Monday night on his television show, Sarah has been so successful since steeping down, that she is now running victory laps around her critics!

Part of what brought this out of him was her surprise appearance on the Tonight Show. William Shatner, who has been doing the beatnik gig for decades, doing this sort of thing with popular songs and the like, has poked fun at Sarah by reading her tweets or other pieces of work. This time he set out to give a “reading” from her book. As usual, Shatner was funny. The set up, of course, was Sarah then coming on and turning the tables on Shatner by reading from his book.

The crowd in the audience was unaware, as they had been sequestered during auditions, to make it a true surprise to them, and the audience at home. The roar heard when Sarah took the stage was simply incredible. Of course, her performance was great. Even the far left was going “oh-oh” as they realized they totally misunderestimated her talent. They begrudgingly proclaimed her performance good.

Leadership is not waiting to see where it’s going. Leadership is making it go somewhere.

Time and time again Sarah Palin has proven she is a true leader. While other see the problems facing us, they are timid in their actions. It’s tough politically, to be a true leader. You actually have to stand for something. You have to go on record, and in this day and time, that record will follow you. God help you if you change your stance on something, even if it is because you have learned more about something that has caused you to rethink your position!

There is a difference between changing your mind based on new and important information about a subject and flip-flopping with the change of the political winds. But you’ll still catch hell!

When Sarah so eloquently spoke of “death panels” earlier this year she was slammed from every direction. The far left, the squishy Republicans, the media, and the President all pronounced her crazy, and more. Funny thing though, the people understood. One of Sarah’s great strengths is that she can take rather complicated issues and distill them down to a single, simple to understand concepts.

Health care rationing is a grim reality in government run health care. Nameless, faceless bureaucrats, using formulas created by panels of accountants, not doctors, decide who is worthy of the best treatments, and who isn’t. This discussion can get lengthy as one goes through the process governments use to come up with all of this. To say the least, it’s a complicated issue.

Death panels” really says it all though. It cuts to the chase.

While Sarah was catching hell for all of this, the usual suspects, the so-called Republican leaders, and “2012 front-runners” were hiding under their desks.

This is a pattern that is followed over and over as Sarah speaks out on the most important issues of our time.

In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated, and scorned. When his cause succeeds however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot.

We saw no better example of Mark Twain’s words than the special election held in New York’s 23rd Congressional District earlier this year. No need to rehash the whole affair here, but that was a true stand against the system. You had a backroom deal, not a primary, that put a supposedly “moderate” Republican, who was actually a far left “progressive,” in the running. DeDe Scozzafava was more radical than 43 percent of the democrat/communist party in the New York State Assembly, from where she was plucked!

Enter Doug Hoffman. He was the long shot independent with no hope. The Republican Party considered him a nuisance that would spoil their ideal “moderate” candidate’s chance. He was a spoiler.

A hand full of Conservatives came to support Hoffman. Then came the endorsement from Sarah Palin. Money came pouring in, and immediately Hoffman’s poll numbers increased. In fact, in some polling, Hoffman went from a distant third, to leading. This of course brought national attention to a small, little know race.

Sarah, because she is Sarah, was then vilified by the media and the “good old boy” Republican establishment. She was called every name in the book. The Republican “elites” were losing their minds. Sarah was singlehandedly destroying the Republican Party!

Then a funny thing happened. All of the momentum shifted to Hoffman. It seemed he had a real shot. Even better, DeDe Scozafava, the “moderate” Republican dropped out. At this point support for Hoffman came out of the woodwork. One by one, the so-called leaders all came out from under their desks and jumped on the Hoffman bandwagon. Gutless wonders all.

Whether it’s corruption, health care, energy, monetary policy, Afghanistan, the global warming hoax, or any other pressing matter, Sarah always has the courage to take on the establishment, to speak out. To take a stand while others remain timid.

Hemingway called courage: grace under pressure. Sarah Palin is one of the most courageous politicians in the modern era of American politics.

That’s a lot to get out of one photo, I know, but this is the very essence of Sarah Palin

Michelle Bachmann Speaker Of The House? You Bet’Cha!

As usual, our friends at HillBuzz have hit on a provocative idea.

If you’re not a regular reader of HillBuzz you are missing out on some great reading. I discovered this group during the 2008 election cycle. The guys over there a lifelong democrats who got really fed up with the direction the party has gone. As the site’s name implies, they are huge supporters of Hillary Clinton, but let me tell you, you won’t find any stronger a group of Sarah Palin supporters out there.

I enjoy HillBuzz because they bring an entirely new perspective to the debate, a while different line of critical thinking. Classify the group any way you wish, but they certainly understand Conservative principles and values, and articulate them in they own unique style.

Anyhow, they have a very interesting idea here that many on our side would not have thought of: Michelle Bachmann as Speaker of the House. Now if you are a strong Conservative, you’re a fan of Micelle Bachmann. Like Sarah Palin, Bachmann is a tough, strong woman. Bachmann is absolutely fearless in her position as a Congresswoman. She has zero reservations when it comes to standing up for the Constitution, and taking on those who would run afoul of it’s intent.

Today we had an interesting breakfast at Nookie’s Tree (pumpkin pancakes, yo) with a friend of ours deeply involved in local Democrat politics here in Illinois. He’s a firm backer of Governor Quinn, and wants Hoffman to win the Dems’ Senate nomination (and is working hard behind the scenes to take corrupt mob banker Alexi Giannoulias down before he can win the Dem primary next year). Because of our support of McCain/Palin and the other stances we’ve taken since the takeover of the Democrat Party and its occupation by Utopian radicals, we’ve had little contact with this friend because the lot of us here have become “toxic” in Dem circles in Chicago. That’s fine with us, honestly, because we can’t in good faith work for a party that behaves the way it does, and treats women and gays the way it so enjoys doing.

But, our friend is a great conversationalist, and enjoys scrying into the future as much as we do. He believes Democrats will hold the Senate in next year’s midterms, but that Harry Reid will be defeated, by Sue Lowden most likely, and Dick Durbin will be installed as the new Senate Majority Leader (which will be a Christmas present to Republicans, since Durbin is a truly stupid and bumbling man, worse than Reid if that is even humanly possible).

He also thinks Democrats will indeed lose the House, as he’s hearing of more House members deciding not to seek re-election, knowing their votes on Utopicare will doom their careers. They have all been promised highly lucrative post-government jobs by Nancy Pelosi, however, so many of these Dems are willing to take the bullets for Utopiacare so that they can make millions in the coming years by working as “consultants” and then lobbyists, with Pelosi and the DNC’s employment agency placing them into golden parachutes (more like golden showers, if you ask us. Google it.).

What’s unclear to us is who the GOP has lined up to take Pelosi’s place if they get control of Congress.

Someone like Michelle Bachmann would be incredible, but our friend insists she’s not even on the long list, let alone the short list for the job. “Remember, Republicans are all about “whose turn it is” and “who has been waiting longest for the job”. There is no sense of timeliness with them, and never any consideration for who would be best to lead the party. They just get in a line and years later it’s their turn to be the nominee or the Speaker or whatever. That’s how Republicans do things, and that’s why they are so beatable usually”.

Every day, we want to know more and more about Michelle Bachmann because, like Sarah Palin, we are witnessing someone at the start of her national career who will be around for a very long time, with the potential to change American politics as we know it.

The Tea Parties could install Bachmann as Speaker, we believe, if the Tea Party Movement itself grows, buckles down, and becomes a larger force to be reckoned with going into 2010.

Palin herself could help deliver Bachmann unto the Speaker’s chair, if the candidate Palin campaigns for next year mostly win, and the next Congressional majority owes a lot to Palin. It appears Palin and Bachmann are friendly, if not already allies. Palin would be well-served with one of her own as Speaker. That could help Palin’s groundgame in 2012 immensely.

Speaker Boehner seems to be the way Republicans would go, because he looks like he’s next in line, but he’d be such a bad choice in our opinion. He’s not bold enough, not gutsy enough, and not memorable enough.

Whoever replaces Nancy Pelosi needs to be a firecracker. We also think the GOP needs to put a woman in that Speaker’s chair. Because of the misogyny the Democrats have wallowed in for the last two years, many women are open to voting Republican for the first time in their lives. Republicans, thus, have the once-in-our-lifetime chance to be seen as “the party for women”. Some of you might not like identity politics, but a great deal of independents sure do.

Independents decide elections…and many former Democrats are now independents who would like to see a woman succeed Pelosi.

Bachmann would make a dynamic, relevant, and capable Speaker, in our opinion.

A firecracker like that tossed into the top spot in the House would light a fuse that could blow Dr. Utopia from office in 2012, taking the rest of the Liberals in Congress with him.

What are your thoughts on Speaker Bachmann? Could it happen? Should it happen?

Obviously, I have to echo their questions to the reader. Could it happen? Should it happen? And, what happens if it happens!

Sean Hannity calls Michelle Bachmann the “second most hated Conservative woman in America,” a title she seems to relish. (We ALL know who the most hated Conservative is!)

Michelle will be a featured speaker at the first annual National Tea Party Convention. Sarah Palin, of course, is the Special Keynote Speaker at this event.

I’m not sure just how well Sarah and Michelle know each other, but the folks over at HillBuzz are certainly on to something with this idea. People already mention a Sarah Palin/Michelle Bachmann ticket for 2012 often. If you spend any amount of time on Conservative websites, you’ll see this mentioned constantly. I think what HillBuzz is saying though makes a lot of sense, and would certainly be beneficial to Sarah Palin, and a Palin presidency.

Look, I like John Boehner. I also like my own Congressman, John Carter, he’s a great Conservative leader. But the idea of someone bold like Michelle Bachmann as Speaker of the House is fascinating. And bold leadership is what we need right now. Ronald Reagan used to caution against the temptation to “paint in pale pastels.” Reagan always championed “painting with bold colors.” What Reagan meant was we need bold leadership, bold leaders who will strive to do great things.

Sarah Palin is obviously someone who fits the bill, but what of Michelle Bachmann? I think one has to look no farther than the dressing down she gave Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke to see she is all business:

Look, I have been one of those who has been on the Palin/Bachmann for 2012 bandwagon. I think it would be a superb ticket. You have two strong, bold women. Both mothers who are raising a large family.

Michelle, like Sarah has 5 children, and has also been a foster parent to 23 other children. Personally, I think motherhood has given both of these great women a perspective the “good old boys” will never have on things. And I say this as a typical, old fashioned “good old boy.”

Here’s where it makes sense to have Michelle Bachmann as Speaker, rather than Vice President to Sarah Palin. If Sarah runs, and I know all of us will do everything in our power to encourage her to, she is going to want to bring sweeping changes to government.

We all know her philosophy. We all know she wants to shrink government, cut waste, and usher in great reforms. Sarah will also have a strong domestic energy agenda, as well as an economic growth agenda, and a very aggressive national security agenda. Michelle Bachmann would be a strong ally. She could easily help Sarah’s agenda, which is America’s agenda.

Having a strong, bold leader like Michelle Bachmann as Speaker of the House would be of great benefit to a President Sarah Palin, and of great benefit to the nation. Our next Congress and next President are facing the herculean task of dismantling the failed democrat/communist quagmire that has been created by allowing “progressives” to have a foothold in government. Budgets will have to be slashed, certain programs eliminated.

We need a bold energy policy, one that actually creates energy, and makes America independent from the whims of other nations. We also must retake our rightful roles and responsibilities as the world’s only superpower.

Both Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann get it. They both know what lies ahead. Most Conservatives think these two would make a great team, and now, thanks to our friends at HillBuzz, we see just how that team might look!

Death Panels Now Open For Business In Massachusetts

Remember why Sarah Palin warned America that ObamaCare, Barack Obama’s unwieldy and unconstitutional scheme to take over medical care and usurp the Constitution in the bargain, was dangerous to your health?

In August Sarah Palin wrote extensively about the incredible danger that ObamaCare would lead to what amounts to “death panels.” This of course caused great controversy, with many claiming Palin was either “crazy” or talking about the “end of life” discussions that were provided for within House Resolution 3200, the prototype ObamaCare bill.

As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we’re saying not just no, but hell no!

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion.

Rep. Michele Bachmann highlighted the Orwellian thinking of the president’s health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff, in a floor speech to the House of Representatives. I commend her for being a voice for the most precious members of our society, our children and our seniors.

We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate. Nationalizing our health care system is a point of no return for government interference in the lives of its citizens. If we go down this path, there will be no turning back. Ronald Reagan once wrote, “Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.” Let’s stop and think and make our voices heard before it’s too late.

Thinking folks knew what Sarah meant though. What she was talking about was health care rationing, and outright denial of services. Over the next days and weeks Sarah backed up her assertions, as did we. Sarah even introduced the nation to Dr Death, Ezekiel Emanuel, a modern day Joseph Mengele, who is a strong proponent of health care rationing and outright denial to both really young patients, as well as older patients.

And yet, Obama and his team of charlatans went out of their way to call Sarah Palin a liar. Of course, as with most of Obama’s statements, and the statements of his team, those contained the massive lies.

Now we have news from Massachusetts the home of RomneyCare, which should be looked at as a shining example of why ObamaCare will be an epic failure. Soaring costs both to the taxpayers and patients was inevitable, and now the effects of these are coming home to roost.

The state’s ambitious plan to shake up how providers are paid could have a hidden price for patients: Controlling Massachusetts’ soaring medical costs, many health care leaders believe, may require residents to give up their nearly unlimited freedom to go to any hospital and specialist they want.

Efforts to keep patients in a defined provider network, or direct them to lower-cost hospitals could be unpopular, especially in a state where more than 40 percent of hospital care is provided in expensive academic medical centers and where many insurance policies allow patients access to large numbers of providers.

But a growing number of hospital officials and physician leaders warn that the new payment system proposed by a state commission would not work without restrictions on where patients receive care – an issue some providers say the commission and the Patrick administration have glossed over.

The Globe goes on to say:

“You can’t reap these savings without limiting patients’ choices in some way,’’ said Paul Levy, chief executive of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. “It’s a huge issue, it’s huge.’’ Dr. James Mongan, president of Partners HealthCare, a Beth Israel Deaconess competitor, agreed that it wouldn’t “work without some restriction on choice.’’

A state commission recommended in July that insurers largely scrap the current fee-for-service system – in which insurers pay doctors, hospitals, and other providers a negotiated fee for each procedure and visit – and instead pay providers a per-patient annual fee to cover all of the patient’s medical care.

This new system of “global payments’’ would discourage overuse of expensive medical services, force providers to live within a budget, and improve coordination of care for patients, supporters argue.

Hmmm, “force providers to live within a budget.” Anyone ever though that maybe it’s GOVERNMENT that should be forced to live within a budget? (And the Constitution)

Of course this sort of thing will lead to rationing of care, and poor service to patients! This state commission is one of the “death panels” that Sarah Palin warned us about.

Health care rationing and denial of care is a way of life in every nation or health care system that has some form of “universal” health care. There’s a reason why Canadians pour over the border in large numbers every year, coming to America for quality health care. In Great Britain the citizens also travel to other countries for proper care. It’s because their own government care is horrid.

Anytime the government has tried to cut costs by price fixing, just the opposite has happened. Anyone who lived through the Nixon era of wage and price controls knows what a disaster it was. Not only were costs not contained, but shortages abounded. It’s seems none of our leaders are students of history at all.

Of course, people from Obama’s side are the ones who always think communism will work, even though it never has, if only the “right” people were in charge. A folly indeed.

America has always been the world’s last best hope for freedom and liberty, and has become the world’s last best hope for health care, as well. It’s pretty obvious that Barack Obama intends to change that, all of it, with his actions. I think he means to destroy America as it has existed for 233 years in order to implement his form of communism. His administration is filled with too many fellow travelers to think otherwise.

If ObamaCare passes, as with RomneyCare, it will turn into a complete disaster, medically. But as ObamaCare turns over unprecedented powers to the federal government, virtually voiding the United States Constitution, Obama’s scheme is far more dangerous to the nation than a state program is.

As the debate on ObamaCare intensifies, it is absolutely imperative that every American who loves their freedoms and liberties resist with everything they have. Health care, quality health care is very personal, and very basic. It is something that should remain between the patient and their doctor, the government has absolutely no role they to play in this relationship.

Obama has repeatedly told America that people can keep their current insurance and doctors if they like them. He also has repeatedly said that costs to Americans will go down. As RomneyCare in Massachusetts proves beyond a shadow of a doubt, Obama is at best a liar, or worse, so ignorant to how things work, he actually believes what he says. That’s a rather frightening thought, by the way!

I suggest everyone call their members of Congress and tell them to vote, to quote Sarah Palin: “Hell no!” on ObamaCare.

Liberals Should Think Long And Hard Before Attacking Sarah Palin’s New Book

You know, it’s not like anyone didn’t see this deal coming. The liberals’ heads are exploding over Sarah Palin’s hot number one selling book: “Going Rogue, An American Life.”

Sales of this book have been called unprecedented. HarperCollins, the publisher ordered 1.5 million books for it’s first printing. Within hours of being available for pre-order, the book was number one in sales over at Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.

Think about that, the book is still in final editing, won’t be available for a month and a half, and didn’t even have a finalized dust jacket at the time! By any measure one can think of, Sarah’s book is an unprecedented, incredible success.

Of course, like clockwork, liberal hatemongers, and GOP elites dragged out their same tired old ploys. Same tired Saul Alinsky style attacks that used to work before EVERYONE started reading that obscure, anti-American, liberal/communist “bible.”

But my favorite is “she didn’t write it.” The liberals and GOP elites use this same stupidity every time she writes an effective Op-Ed or Facebook post. It’s actually a pretty good complement if you look at it. Her writing is just that effective! It scares them so much, they have to make something up to explain it away to the uneducated and uninformed.

Supporters of Palin don’t even get mad at that silliness anymore, instead we laugh at the liberals and GOPers for being THAT stupid, and THAT petty.

Now what really has the liberals, communists (same thing really) and GOP elites chattering is the fact that Sarah used a COLLABORATOR to help her with her book. Oh the horror!

Truth is, pretty much everyone who isn’t a full time author, and many who are, work with someone to help them put their books together. Even the very best of writers have editors to deal with. It’s a simple fact of the publishing business.

Look at any book by a business leader or other popular figure, they are all written “with” someone. I’ve read dozens of great business books by top leaders like Lee Iaccoca, Jim McKay, and Bob Lutz, all were written “with” someone.

Then we get into the “ghostwritten” ones. Most politicians and celebrities go this route. Someone writes their books, for a fee. Some use notes from the person the book is about, some just make it up as they go. But “ghostwriting” is pretty common, in the business.

Here’s just a couple of very famous “ghostwritten” books. (There will be a third and fourth we’ll talk about in a few minutes!)

First we have the best selling “Profiles In Courage” the bio of President John F Kennedy. Although he is listed as author, we now know the book was written by his speech writer, Ted Sorenson. Sorenson was one of the Ford “whiz kids” who followed McNamara over to the White House.

Hillary Clinton didn’t write her big policy book “It Takes A Village.” Barbara Feinman did for a fee of $120,000.

“Ghostwriting,” however, is very different than having a collaborator. A collaborator means just what it sounds like. You have someone to help you structure it. To put it together. Again, even profession writers will have some help.

For this job, Sarah chose the very capable Lynn Vincent. A solid writer who shares a lot of Sarah’s philosophy.

Something else, unlike many, especially politicians and celebrities, Sarah and her publisher were up front about this deal. Everyone knew from day one who Sarah chose for this project.

Here’s the thing, and this also explains how this book came together so fast. As we all remember, when announced, the book wasn’t supposed to be out until the Spring of 2010. The book was done so far ahead of schedule because, for all practical purposes, Sarah has literally been writing it all of her life!

You see, Sarah is one of “those” people who has kept a daily journal for most of her life. Back in earlier days, many folks did this. It was a habit they got into at an early age, and stuck with. President Ronald Reagan was also someone who kept journals. Sarah is simply following that old tradition.

At any rate, Sarah’s book is based on these journals. I understand she kept these journals during the 2008 campaign. That will make for some interesting reading, for sure. It also explains why Steve Schmidt (the Bob Shrum of the GOP) and Nicole Wallace, the two McCain campaign turncoats are running for cover!

So you ask, what does this have to do with the liberals and communists? (Again, pretty much same thing these days) And why should they “think long and hard” before talking their usual nonsense about Sarah’s book?

Well, one of the things that was whispered during the 2008 campaign, but not covered by the fringe, Obama media was the fact that Barack Obama didn’t write his big “literary masterpiece” that has been heralded by the left as the greatest piece of writing eveh!

Of course, that is nonsense on many, many levels.

Now the fact that Obama didn’t write his book is a minor thing, at best, a “who cares” kinda thing. Maybe a “he lied!” kinda moment, but my God, we already have hundreds, if not thousands of those “he lied” moments from Obama, so this will just get lost in that sea of lies!

Except for this:

The real problem for liberals and communists (yeah, I know) is WHO wrote the book. And all of the other Obama lies this knowledge unravels.

Jack Cashill was the first to pick up on this deal. After reading Obama’s “Dreams From My Father” he happened to pick up a copy of terrorist William Ayers’ book “Fugitive Days.” In Cashill’s own words:

“My involvement in this occasionally harrowing literary adventure began in July 2008, entirely innocently. A friend sent me some short excerpts from Dreams and asked if they were as radical as they sounded. I bought the book, located the excerpts, and reported back that, in context, the excerpts were not particularly troubling.

But I did notice something else. The book was much too well written. I had seen enough of Obama’s interviews to know that he did not speak with anywhere near the verbal sophistication on display in Dreams.

About six weeks later, for entirely unrelated reasons, I picked up a copy of Bill Ayers 2001 memoir, “Fugitive Days.” Ayers, I discovered, writes very well and very much like “Obama.”

That’s right, Cashill is talking about unrepentant murdering domestic terrorist, William Ayers, co-founder of the ultra-violent Weather Underground, a violent group that spent several years going around the country blowing stuff up and trying to overthrow the government. They actually declared war on the United States. Ayers set bombs in the Pentagon, the US Capitol Building, and NY City Police Headquarters, just to name a few.

Even better, not only did terrorist William Ayers help his buddy Barack Obama out, Obama returned the favor by offering up a review for one of Ayers many screeds “A Kind And Just Parent: The Children of Juvenile Court.”

Oh and Obama’s “literary genius” well, let’s just say that as big of a bumbling fool as he is without his beloved teleprompter to feed him the words to say, he’s worse without his terrorist buddy to write those words for him!

Here is an example of Obama’s “literary prowess.” This “poem” is from his undergraduate period and is hilariously titled (in context) “Underground.” I kid you not!

Under water grottos, caverns

Filled with apes

That eat figs.

Stepping on the figs

That the apes

Eat, they crunch.

The apes howl, bare

Their fangs, dance . . .

So lets see, the terrorist who Obama claimed was “just a guy in the neighborhood” wrote Obama’s first book. Doesn’t look good liberals and communists. (Do I have to say it?)

But this just opens the doors to more and more of Obama’s lies. Ayers wasn’t just “some guy in the neighborhood” he was one of Obama’s closet mentors after Obama left home in Hawaii.

This also brings Obama’s massive ties to ACORN out in the open. Obama claims to have once been their “attorney” in a voter fraud case. (Yeah, shocker, like voter fraud isn’t ACORN’s # 1 business) This of course was a lie on Obama’s part. Obama was a trainer for ACORN.

If there are any liberal/democrat/communists still reading this, stick with me to the bitter end,. Because the question of WHY you should think long and very hard before going after Sarah Palin and her book will be revealed at the finish.

It was Obama’s job to indoctrinate ACORN’s rent-a-mob workers in the finer points of anti-American communist, Saul Alinsky’s book, “Rules For Radicals.” Alinsky, a Chicago mobster, among other things, is considered the “father of community organizing.” Alinsky dedicated his book to Lucifer (the Devil) whom he called the “first radical.”

This was just Obama’s first ties to ACORN. Obama’s BFF, William Ayers hired Obama to work for him at a couple of his “education foundations” that were Marxist front groups to funnel money to un-American fringe groups, and criminal enterprises like ACORN, to fund “educational programs.”

You see Ayers and the rest of the Weather Underground terrorists realized they couldn’t destroy America by blowing it up, so they cut their hair, bathed, and found jobs in society. With “higher education” already infested with communists and anti-American radicals of all sorts (and that’s just the professors) the murdering, terrorist bomber Ayers was welcomed with open arms! Ayers is now considered a “respected educator!”

Terrorist Ayers’ gig is teaching teachers and writing books on “education” all the while infecting an entire generation of educators with Marxist theory and anti-Americanism.

Stanley Kurtz, Senior Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center has written extensively about the Obama, Ayers, ACORN connections. He has built a portfolio of articles about this. These too are a must read, which you can do here.

You simply cannot mention ACORN without mentioning Obama. ACORN is now being investigated by many levels of government, from state and local, to federal. When all of this comes to a head, things will not end well for Barack Obama, or his failing presidency.

Remember when Sarah went after Obama on the campaign trail for “pallin’ around with terrorists?” Well, even she may not have known the full extent of just how right she was.

You see, murdering terrorist William Ayers was not the only Weather Underground terrorist that Barack Obama is intimate with. We have found that Weather Underground co-founder Jeff Jones and Obama have very close ties.

We have found that Jeff Jones helped write a significant portion of the $1 trillion failed stimulus package that Obama foisted on America through trickery and deceit.

You see Jones, like Ayers, realized he couldn’t destroy America and turn it into a communist Utopia by blowing it up. So Jones joined the so called “green” movement, and along with others co-opted the environmental movement, turning it into a vehicle to usurp the United States Constitution, and “back door” communism in the name of “saving the planet!

Jeff Jones is a member of the radical Apollo Alliance. BTW, so is Obama’s departed “Green Jobs Czar” Van Jones, who was forced to leave recently.

Like terrorists William Ayers and Jeff Jones, Van Jones is a radical communist (self avowed) and an anti-American, anti-white, trouble maker who jumped aboard the “green” movement seeing it as the perfect vehicle to use for his plans.

Think about it. Take a bunch of young idealists, already infected with Marxist (communist) teachings, thanks to the teachers William Ayers helped along, and prey on their hopes and dreams. Use their laudable goal of a cleaner world, and corrupt it with your anti-American, anti-capitalistic rhetoric, and voilB (!) you have a ready made army of wrongly educated environmental zombies to do your bidding for you!

Now I know this sounds like a bad plot from a James Bond type movie, but unfortunately this is reality here in America!

You throw in George Soros, the evil multi-billionaire and former Nazi collaborator, who is a real life Ernst Stavro Blofeld, and the self proclaimed “owner” of the democrat/communist party, and Barack Obama’s puppet master, and the picture starts to come together.

While it may have been different at one time, it seems clear that Barack Obama is “Number One” in this Bond screenplay, and people like Ayers and the Jones are bit players like “Odd Job” or “Jaws.” I ‘ll leave that casting to your imagination!

The communists are using the excuse of a two inch minnow to shut off the water to almost one million acres of prime California farm land. Land that has literally fed the nation with fresh fruit, nuts, and vegetables for generations. This has led to unemployment numbers of over 40 percent, and created thousands of new people dependant on government handouts for survival. It’s also forced the United States to import billions of dollars worth of produce from foreign nations, re-distributing America’s wealth to poorer countries, a classic communist goal.

The communists use the same tactic on oil. We are not allowed to explore for oil in our nation anymore. Instead, we re-distribute somewhere between $700 billion and $1 trillion American dollars to other nations, sending serious treasure to many nations who not only hate us, but actively work against us on the world stage.

Why we do this is mind boggling. We have more oil than the Middle East, a century’s worth of clean natural gas, several hundred years worth of coal. And with our technology, we could have used the so-called stimulus dollars from the bill that terrorist Jeff Jones helped pen, to build 30 or 40 nuclear powerplants, and fix two problems. Nuclear is as clean as it gets, and cheap too.

We have capped wells off the coast of California, that could be up and running within months if the go ahead was given. California is beyond broke, they are about to become a failed state, and yet……

So imagine our surprise when we found out that only a few days after George Soros bought controlling interest in Brazilian oil company Petrobas, Barack Obama “loaned” Petrobas $10 billion dollars of taxpayer’s money! Evidently it’s fine to destroy another nation’s ecology, especially if it will make your evil master even wealthier!

Sarah Palin was right there to call Obama on this bit of chicanery too!

But, as always, the fringe Obama media, which has become nothing more than house organs for Obama and the democrat/communist party failed to do it’s job!

So far we just talked about Obama’s first “ghostwritten” book. Of course, Obama, literary genius that he is, “produced” a second tome, “The Audacity of Hope” a thrown together piece that was obviously created to cash in on all of the hype surrounding Barack Obama at the time. This book claimed to be based on a sermon shouted by Obama’s racist, hateful anti-American “preacher” of over twenty years, the “Reverend” Jeremiah Wright.

Wright’s “church,” Trinity United, which preaches “Black Liberation Theology” a communist concoction, is a cesspool of racism, and anti-American hatred. Barack Obama set in the pews of this church for over 20 years. “Reverend” Wright married Barack and Michelle, and baptized their two children. Jeremiah Wright is clearly not just “some guy in the neighborhood.”

Jack Cashill who again has done yoemen’s work on this story reveals that “The Audacity of Hope” is more of a collaboration than just a “ghostwritten” book, but not a collaboration with Obama and a writer, but more of a collaboration salad of speech writers, seemingly headed by Jon Favreau. Of course, just as terrorist Ayers is not credited with “Dreams” (for obvious reasons) Favreau isn’t credited for his contribution. You can read Cashill’s report on book two here.

Now liberals, communists, fringe news media, hate bloggers over at the Huffington Post, and whoever, here’s the deal. Sarah Palin was up front and honest in her presentation of her new book, “Going Rogue, An American Life” from the minute the project was announced.

On the other hand, Barack Obama’s entire life, his entire public persona is built on one fantastic lie after another. Barack Obama has spent a lifetime marinating in communism and anti-American hatred courtesy of his mentors and friends.

Barack Obama has assembled a government of like minded communists, Chicago street thugs, and other assorted anti-American, anti-capitalist, anti-freedom, and anti-liberty radicals.

Here’s what you good folks from the anti-American democrat/communist party need to think long and hard about. You folks over at NBC, CNN, you left wing hate radio talkers, you need to remember this:

The American public has already turned on Barack Obama, and communism. They have awakened and realized they were lied to, big time. They are not pleased at all. They are ready to not only throw all of the democrat/communists in Congress in 2010, they have had their fill of Barack Obama.

For every one of your jabs, and hate filled stories lying about Sarah Palin, there are going to be a dozen stories like this one exposing Obama for the radical, psychopathic liar that he is.

As America sits around the breakfast table in the morning, and the dinner table at night, this story and dozens like it are going to be on the menu on a steady basis from now until Obama is finished.

So smear away at Sarah Palin at your own risk. We are not going to let those smears go unanswered. Just as Barack Obama told his thugs from SEIU to “punch back twice as hard” before they beat black man, Kenneth Gladney, so hard at a townhall meeting that he had to be hospitalized. We are going to “punch back” ten times as hard. Not with our fists, but with our pens, and with the help of tens of millions of Americans who have had all they are willing to put up with.

Being “Like Ronald Reagan” The Only Positive Political Description

“Progressive” is becoming more of a dirty word, but all political labels – except “being like Ronald Reagan” – are falling into disfavor with many U.S. voters, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

“Liberal” is still the worst and remains the only political description that is viewed more negatively than positively. Being like Reagan is still the most positive thing you can say about a candidate.

So says the latest Rasmussen polling on the subject. Now for conservatives, “like Ronald Reagan” has been the only acceptable position for a politician to have, for a long, long time.

I’m sure the David Frums, Peggy Noonans, Colin Powells, and Kathleen Parkers of the world are hyperventilating right about now, as they are the ones always telling us the “era of Reagan is over.” I guess they are wrong once again! Shocking, huh?

It’s been twenty years since the great Renaldus Magnus, as he is affectionately known, has sat in the Oval Office, so why is he just as appealing today as he was back in his prime? I think it’s because Reagan was such a strong leader and just a great man, but that is probably way too simplistic.

Ronald Reagan was part of the American consciousness for most of the last century. I won’t attempt to write a biography here – there are plenty out there for folks to read and enjoy – but some of the highlights of Reagan’s career and how we came to love the man are certainly something to talk about.

Reagan was an actor, and while some called him a “B-Movie Actor,” he also gave us one of the most memorable characters of all time when he played George Gipp in the movie “Knute Rockne, All American.” While the movie itself was about famed Notre Dame coach Knute Rockne, one of the most memorable performances was Ronald Reagan playing George Gipp. Gipp was a great football player who died too young of a strep infection.

Now I’m going to tell you something I’ve kept to myself for years. None of you ever knew George Gipp. He was long before your time, but you all know what a tradition he is at Notre Dame. And the last thing he said to me, “Rock,” he said, “sometime when the team is up against it and the breaks are beating the boys, tell them to go out there with all they’ve got and win just one for the Gipper. I don’t know where I’ll be then, Rock,” he said, “but I’ll know about it and I’ll be happy.”

“Win one for the Gipper” became part of the American lexicon. As for Reagan, the Gipper nickname stuck and became just another affectionate name we know him by.

Reagan was much more than just an actor. though. He was President of the Screen Actors Guild and a solid spokesman. He was also a democrat, who famously said: “I didn’t leave the democrat party, the democrat party left me.”

And Reagan, who had a sharp wit, never missed the chance to have fun with that:

In fact, one of the things that we all loved about Ronald Reagan was his ability to speak well and deliver great one liners as well as funny stories.

But Reagan was more than a good line and a bright smile. Reagan was also someone who loved America with all of his heart. He saw America as a “shining city on a hill” the world’s last best hope. Reagan was always concerned that Americans understood our great gifts of freedom and kept a constant watch for things that would cause Americans to lose those freedoms.

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

What really sets Reagan apart, at least for me, is how not only were his warnings appropriate for their time, but they can be applied to today’s events as well. In fact, it’s uncanny how the same things Ronald Reagan warned us about – communism and the slightly less oppressive socialism – are still real threats today.

For example, no one understood the danger to freedom and liberty that socialized medicine posed better than Ronald Reagan. Back in 1961, as they had been for decades, the democrat party was trying to shove socialized health care down an unwilling America’s throat. Reagan took part in the “Operation Coffee Cup Campaign” and went on a speaking tour, forcefully warning about the dangers of allowing the government to control health care.

Anyone who has actually read H.R. 3200, the most likely version of Obamacare to pass, knows Reagan was right then and even more right now! Obamacare is nothing less than a complete and total usurpation of the Constitution. It totally remakes American society, turning it into a communist state, with a centrally controlled government and centrally planned economy.

America was designed to be a loose confederation of states, coming together as a Republic for mutual benefit but with each remaining sovereign. It’s what the 10th Amendment to the Constitution is all about. Once Obamacare is passed, states rights and most individual rights go right out the window.

If we as Americans are to retain our freedoms and liberties, it is imperative that we listen to Ronald Reagan. It is imperative that we stop the government’s attempt to “reform” health care.

Now I am not saying health care doesn’t have its issues. It does. But health care in America is still the best in the world, has the highest quality, and is available in the most timely manner to the greatest number of people.

There are common sense plans out there. Plans that include major tort reform and the ability for Americans to shop for insurance nationwide rather than just within their state. There are thousands of insurance companies nationwide. The Obama regime claims to want “more competition” for the consumer’s dollar. What better way than to open the door for all Americans to shop all of the various insurance companies nationwide?

Ronald Reagan didn’t just warn us about socialized medicine, though. Few understood better than Reagan that liberalism was a losing proposition. That liberalism made absolutely no sense whatsoever. That liberalism was a contradiction all unto itself.

In another speech that absolutely applies today, Ronald Reagan speaks out on the dangers of allowing liberals to be elected to positions of responsibility.

In 1964 Reagan gave this speech at the Republican National Convention in support of Barry Goldwater, the candidate for President. The speech, entitled “A Time For Choosing” is one of the most iconic of all time. In fact, it has come to be known simply as “The Speech.”

If I had my way, this video would be required viewing by every school kid in America. In fact, it would be a required course to get a high school diploma, and there would be advanced teaching on it in colleges and universities nationwide.

It’s just that important!

What is rather chilling is how we can listen to Ronald Reagan 45 years later and apply absolutely everything he is saying to our current situation.

This might help explain why “like Ronald Reagan” is still the best thing you can say about a politician!

“The Speech”

Here’s a bit of an exercise for you. After watching the video, write down just how many things Reagan was talking about that not only exist in our current climate, but are even a greater threat today. Reagan understood all too well just how dangerous it was to allow government to grow too large and too powerful.

Ronald Reagan also warned that the “once honorable democrat party” was on a strong march towards socialism, or Marxism, as he called it. Today, we understand it as communism, plain and simple. We now have a President who was raised by communists, mentored by communists, and is now surrounded by and seeks advice from self avowed communists.

We are left asking ourselves just how in the hell this happened!

Ronald Reagan was an inspiration to America at a time when we needed it the most. America was in a slump. The American morale was as low as it had ever been, and the current national embarrassment, Jimmy Carter, had all but destroyed the economy forever. Carter had also allowed our military readiness to become dangerously low.

Our foreign policy was a joke. Under Carter, radical Islam was able to come to power in Iran and the greater Middle East. We are all suffering to this day because of Carter’s failures in this area. And frankly, our current White House occupant is following Carter’s lead.

I always laugh at the imagery surrounding Barack Obama. We were told when he was elected that the sea levels would lower, the skies would be brighter, and it would be rainbows and unicorns for all.

Well, I remember just how defeated Americans felt during the Carter years. Just how bad it was. We actually had a “misery index” concocted by the media just to tell us how bad our life sucked on any given day. Double digit unemployment, double digit inflation, and double digit interest rates on loans was the way of life in America.

Ronald Reagan represented real hope. It truly was “morning in America” once Reagan was elected. Reagan brought an intangible “it” factor with him that many leaders will never have. Reagan exuded optimism. He was our oldest President ever to take office, and yet he was the very picture of virility. Reagan was both a strong and forceful leader and America’s father figure, a kind man with a reassuring smile that simply told you everything was going to be just fine.

In no time America’s morale was high. America’s confidence was on the rebound. People were very proud to be Americans again. I remember those days well, and they were simply electric. The new feeling of optimism was amazing. You honestly felt like you could achieve anything.

I was a young man back then, but the feelings of this energy effected me greatly. Reagan had so much confidence that it spilled over onto the rest of us. It made us all see that absolutely anything was possible.

Now it took more than a few years for America to start to recover from the Carter fiasco – in fact, almost all of Reagan’s two terms. If a person were to go back, and just look at raw numbers, they would see that much of Reagan’s presidency saw economic numbers that, until the Obama presidency, wouldn’t have been all that stellar, but compared to where we had been, they were great.

The greatest affirmation of the difference Reagan made and of the love for him back then was his 1984 re-election. Now Reagan won an absolute landslide when he defeated Jimmy Carter in 1980. Reagan won 44 of 50 states in a three-way race that saw Republican John Anderson run as an Independent. Anderson being what we would call a RINO today. Reagan got 50.7 percent of the raw vote and Carter got 41 percent.

In 1984 though, the American people rewarded Reagan with an incredible 49 state win against former Vice President Walter Mondale, who barely won his home state and carried D.C. The Electoral College victory was 525 to 13, raw vote 58.8 percent to 40.6. To me that says it all about the confidence America had in Ronald Reagan.

History tells us that Reagan wasn’t a perfect man, but he was a great man. Reagan was able to shepherd American through some tough times. He defeated the Soviet Union without firing a shot. He brought new confidence to America, something that had been lacking. In time, it was the Reagan revolution that would end the 40 years of disastrous Democrat Party control of Congress, leading to a stunning victory for congressional Republicans in 1994.

It was truly Reagan’s moral compass, though, his strength and integrity, that made him such a great leader. A man among men. It was the moral clarity he had that allowed him to look into the eyes of the American people and tell them liberalism, communism, and socialism were evil. It was that same moral clarity that allowed him to stand at the Berlin Wall and demand, “Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”

It was that same moral clarity, that same strength and integrity Reagan had then, that still makes being “like Ronald Reagan” so desired today.

So where do we take it from here? Who is “like Ronald Reagan”?

Some names that come to mind are people like Dick Cheney. Say what you will about the former Vice President – when he speaks, he speaks with moral clarity, strength, wisdom, and with the love of our nation in his heart.

Liz Cheney is her father’s daughter. She is sharp, tough, and has a solid footing. Then there is Michelle Bachmann. While not as well known, she is certainly cut from the Reagan cloth. Strong, forceful, and unwavering in her beliefs and values.

But one simply cannot talk about leaders who are like Ronald Reagan without bringing up Sarah Palin. The comparisons are easy to make. Like Reagan, Sarah Palin is a strong leader with moral clarity.

Sarah has shown this clarity throughout her career. From battling her mentor on the Wasilla city council over his attempt to use his position to set up a monopoly for his company, to her legendary battle with Frank Murkowski’s “Corrupt Bastards Club.”

For those that don’t know the story, Sarah had been appointed as Chairman of the powerful Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, the agency that regulates oil and natural gas in Alaska. Sarah had been appointed by Governor Murkowski after she had lost her bid for Lt. Governor. She was charged with overseeing ethics in her position.

Before long, Sarah realized she had a really corrupt shop. After being told to back off by her boss, the Governor, Sarah stepped down, “quit” as they say. Had to be a really tough decision. This was a high paying gig, six figures, and a powerful position from which to launch herself to even more powerful positions. After all, Sarah’s star was on the rise!

After Sarah “quit” she made it her project to go after the bad actors. As a result, she went after pretty much the entire Republican Party leadership, a profile in courage in itself, and a sure fire case of political suicide. In the end, some went to prison, some paid fines, others were forced to resign. Then she ran for and won the governorship.

Once in office, she was a strong leader. She was able to bring about sweeping changes and one by one fulfilled her campaign promises.

Claude Sandroff over at the American Thinker talks about the virtue of Sarah Palin. We all know the story of her post-election experiences. Before Sarah ran for Vice President, the Republican Party, still smarting from the reforms she brought and the folks she took down, wasn’t exactly pleased with her, but she had a fairly cordial relationship with the Alaska Democrats in the legislature.

Then came the campaign. It has been well documented that Barack Obama brought Chicago style politics to Alaska through his campaign chief-of-staff, Pete Rouse, and Rouse’s longtime friendship with Alaska State Senator, Kim Elton. Their attempt to derail Sarah with the phony “Troopergate” witch hunt is also well documented

After Sarah lost her in her effort to be Vice President, no one would have thought the Alaska Mafia would have remained so dedicated to the Chicago masters, but how many times has a losing vice presidential candidate become even more popular and sought after!

The word came out from on high to keep the pressure on, and the Mafia started recruiting folks to file phony ethics complaints against her. There was already one misguided woman, Andree McLeod, who made a career out of filing outrageous complaints. But the rest were all manufactured to damage Sarah, by using a favorite Democrat/communist tactic, right out of Saul Alinsky’s “Rules.”

This is where Sarah’s strength, courage, and moral clarity came into play. It would have been very simple to sit still and fight this stuff. I mean these charges were all nonsense, and all were thrown out. But the more she resisted, the more the Mafia filed, and at a quicker pace. And these leaches on society had not only cost Sarah personally, they had also effectively stopped her government from functioning and cost the taxpayers almost $2 million processing this mess. And if the pace of the complaints stayed the same for the rest of her term, these thieves were on track to cost the Alaska taxpayers as much as $10 million.

A lot of politicians would have stayed. They would have clung to power at all cost. Not Sarah Palin. As Sandroff puts it, this was:

“The very essence of virtue. It was Sir Thomas More resigning as Lord Chancellor and George Washington returning to Mount Vernon. It showed how rare virtue has become in our politics. It shows why we adore Sarah Palin and why we need her. And it explains why, even without office, she has become the most important political figure in America.”

One can only imagine the struggle Sarah had with this – or maybe it wasn’t a real struggle at all. Earlier in the year, just before a trip to visit her troops in Kosovo, Sarah Palin introduced Michael Reagan, the son of Ronald Reagan, at an event in Anchorage. While talking about how badly her critics wanted her to shut up and go away, she said this:

“They want me to sit down and shut up. But I won’t sit down, and I won’t shut up. Politically speaking, if I die, I die, but I will know I have spoken up! Stand up, speak up, be bold! Forget political correctness!”

History shows that Sarah has not sat down, and is not shutting up! At the time, many could not understand what Sarah was doing when she “quit.” These people simply didn’t understand her unwinnable situation. These are the types who would have “fought to the end,” costing their constituents more tax dollars, and damaging their state.

This was a stroke of genius though, and one I believe Ronald Reagan would have understood. Sarah, a star basketball player, was simply passing the ball off to someone, Sean Parnell, who could continue on with her policies, and not be hassled.

“He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight. He will win who knows how to handle both superior and inferior forces. He will win whose army is animated by the same spirit throughout all its ranks. He will win who, prepared himself, waits to take the enemy unprepared.”

Now that is a nice story, as far as it goes. A compelling one, in fact. But it is not the only reason why Sarah Palin is “like Ronald Reagan.”

No one can argue she is powerful. Who in the world but Sarah Palin can change the entire national debate with a few paragraphs posted on a networking website?

Sarah Palin not only had the moral clarity to understand exactly what Obamacare is, she was also able to distill it all down to a level of basic understanding. Her “death panels” said it all. And it wasn’t just the fact Sarah understood that Obamacare would most certainly lead to the rationing of care – she had the courage to say it the way she said it. She knew full well the wrath of both political parties, as well as the fringe media – Obama’s media – would come at her with full force. Sarah called Obamacare “downright evil.”

We all know Ronald Reagan had moral clarity regarding the Soviet Union. He called them an “evil empire.” His critics in both parties, lost it every time he did this, but it didn’t stop him from saying it.

Before Reagan’s famous “tear down that wall” comment in his speech in Berlin, his advisers were telling him “no way” and to steer clear of that sort of thing. They had to be resuscitated after he said it! But Reagan knew in his heart it needed to be said.

Reagan lived to see the Berlin wall come down and to see millions of East Germans become free.

Before Sarah took up the fight, critics of Obamacare might as well have been talking to their houseplants. They were trying to nuance things. Trying to be “statesmen,” at least in their minds.

Sarah looked at this mess, saw great evil. She saw a situation, that if continued, would lead America to certain disaster, and cause all Americans to lose precious liberties and freedoms. It’s that ability to not only recognize evil wherever you see it but to also have the courage to do something about it.

While the other so-called leaders in the Republican party were saying “slow down” Sarah wrote, “Not no, but HELL no!”

Because of Sarah Palin and her inspiration to others, Obamacare is in shambles. And that gives us another “like Ronald Reagan” trait. Sarah Palin inspires people.

Sarah has been inspiring people for a long time, but her speech at the 2008 Republican National Convention was huge. Expectations were high, and she hit a home run. As Michael Reagan wrote days later in a column titled “Welcome Back Dad“:

“I’ve been trying to convince my fellow conservatives that they have been wasting their time in a fruitless quest for a new Ronald Reagan to emerge and lead our party and our nation. I insisted that we’d never see his like again because he was one of a kind.

I was wrong!

Wednesday night I watched the Republican National Convention on television and there, before my very eyes, I saw my Dad reborn; only this time he’s a she.

And what a she!

In one blockbuster of a speech, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin resurrected my Dad’s indomitable spirit and sent it soaring above the convention center, shooting shock waves through the cynical media’s assigned spaces and electrifying the huge audience with the kind of inspiring rhetoric we haven’t heard since my Dad left the scene.”

After Ronald Reagan lost his presidential primary bid to Gerald Ford in 1976, most considered him washed up, a has been. Critics in both parties called him stupid, lazy, naive, inexperienced, even though he had been Governor of California! He was a B-Movie actor. Some even said Reagan was dangerous!

Reagan was from tiny Tampico, Illinois. He went to the “wrong” school, Eureka College. And Reagan was a small-town country boy at heart his entire life.

The Democrats hated Reagan with a passion, and so did the blue-blood, country club elite Rockefeller Republicans. The American people loved Reagan, though, and obviously still do. God bless Ronald Reagan, and may his spirit always remain the spirit that inspires us all.
