Bristol’s Book: Levi is ‘the gnat’ & a self-involved slacker

Posted by joshpainter on June 18, 2011

– by Josh Painter
*
Bristol Palin’s new book, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far tells a story of “deception and disappointment,” according to AP television writer Frazier Moore’s article in the entertainment section of the Washington Examiner. But the book also chronicles how the 20-year old single mother learned how to face those challenges “head-on with courage and grace,” says HarperCollins.

The memoir, co-written with Nancy French, is scheduled for publication by William Morrow next week. The Associated Press purchased a copy Friday.

Palin’s book covers growing up with her family, which she portrays affectionately, and the excitement of her mother’s political life as governor and then, in 2008, as the GOP vice presidential candidate. But the main theme is her on-and-off-again relationship with Johnston, with whom she had a child and was briefly engaged while caught in a media spotlight.

She blasts him as “the gnat named Levi Johnston constantly spreading false accusations against our family” and calls him a self-involved slacker “who cheated on me about as frequently as he sharpened his hockey skates.”

But Palin, self-described as a good girl and straight-A student, had been drawn to him and his bad-boy manner from the time they met in seventh grade.

[…]

Only by the eighth home pregnancy test, she writes, was she convinced of the positive results.

When she told her parents, they were accepting, not condemning, she writes, and focused on the future, particularly her continuing education.

Johnston’s reaction wasn’t so reassuring: “Better be a (bleeping) boy,” he declared.

Wow, what a stand up guy! Not exactly the poster boy for Father’s Day…

Once Bristol accepted the fact that Johnston could not be relied upon to be a faithful husband and responsible father to their son, she dumped him and started concentrating on building a life for herself and Tripp. Once an assistant in a dentist’s office in Anchorage, she went on to become a Candies Foundation teen ambassador, a motivational speaker, and a contestant on “Dancing With The Stars.” She made a good real estate investment which should soon provide her with rental income, and she’s set to co-star in a new television series on the Bio channel. Bristol Palin has come a long way, baby, and she’s discover that not only is there life after Levi, but it beats life with Levi hands down.

Palin: What she believes and why

Posted by Jackie Siciliano on December 29, 2010

There’s a joke that goes something like this.  Sarah Palin is being interviewed on the air when a small seaplane crashes into Lake Lucille.  Sarah immediately runs across the water and saves the life of the pilot without thought for her own safety.  The next day, the headline in major newspapers is “Sarah Palin Can’t Swim”!  The LSM can and will continue to report any of her accomplishments in a twisted fashion. If you enjoyed that little joke, keep reading because Wes Vernon of the Washington Times has “hit the nail on the head” with his assessment of Sarah Palin’s ability to get her message across in her Facebook postings and in her books. ~Jackie~

From http://www.washingtontimes.com:

Sarah Palin has read the writings of such intellectual giants as Milton Friedman, Alexis de Tocqueville and Whittaker Chambers and such historical leaders as Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.

In “America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and the Flag,” she cites the published letters between John and Abigail Adams in this nation’s infancy as well as the speech of Calvin Coolidge (probably one of America’s most underrated presidents) on the occasion of this nation’s 150th birthday.

Beyond that, the 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee – recently in USA Today – offered us her insight regarding Iran‘s nuclear capabilities and ambitions.

Such displays of research and knowledge are not likely to prevent critics from disparaging her intellectual heft. Indeed, one is left to wonder if they would credit Mrs. Palin‘s gravitas if she were to author her own comprehensive encyclopedia blindfolded and without notes or research material at hand. More

Gov. Palin’s publisher sues Gawker for copyright infringement

Posted by joshpainter on November 20, 2010

HarperCollins, the publisher of Sarah Palin’s forthcoming second book, filed a federal lawsuit against Gawker Media Friday for leaking pages of America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag ahead of its November 23 release date:

Two days before the Manhattan filing, gutter website Gawker published images of more than 20 of the open book’s pages. Gov. Palin tweeted Thursday, “Isn’t that illegal?”

Her publisher contends it is. The lawsuit asks that Gawker be banned from what it terms “further copyright infringement” and that Gawker deliver the source material to the publisher so it can be destroyed. HarperCollins is also seeking financial damages.

Gawker did not immediately respond to e-mails seeking comment Friday evening, but an item published the day before and titled “Sarah Palin Is Mad at Us for Leaking Pages From Her Book” defended the blog’s actions and linked to websites defining the fair use doctrine of copyright law.

The blog was not the first site to publish excerpts from the book, which has been billed as a tribute to American values, but it refused to take them down after receiving a letter demanding that it do so, the lawsuit said. The Associated Press bought a copy of the book ahead of its Nov. 23 release date.

The 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate’s first book, the memoir Going Rogue: An American Life, has sold over 2.7 million copies.

USA Today/Gallup: Sarah Palin, Hillary Clinton The Two Most Admired Women In America

Posted by Gary P Jackson on December 30, 2009

This is a new USA Today/Gallup poll out there that shows something very interesting. When asked, Americans chose both Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton as the two women they admire the most.

Lets take a look at this, as I think it says some very interesting things about America. First, without a doubt, both Sarah and Hillary are feminist icons. They are both hard core, successful women. Both tough as nails.

No surprises in the way the polling shakes out, either. Gallup asked 1025 adult Americans to rate their most admired. These two came out on top in basically a dead heat, considering the +/- 4 point margin of error.

What woman living today do you admire the most?

Hillary Clinton………………….16%

Sarah Palin………………………15%

Oprah Winfrey……………8%

Michelle Obama………….7%

Condoleezza Rice…….2%

Queen Elizabeth……….2%

Margaret Thatcher…1%

Maya Angelou………1%

Of course, this was pretty partisan, as both ladies got the bulk of their support from their particular political parties, which is why this poll fascinates me. It’s a good look at how both liberals and conservatives look at the world.

It should be noted too, that more Republicans were apt to admire Hillary Clinton than democrats were to admire Sarah Palin. Roughly 6 percent of the Republicans asked admired Hillary, while only 1 percent of the democrats admired Sarah. Again, several things come into play here, at least in my mind. One, Conservatives, and Republicans are generally more open minded, and democrats are more apt to follow the party line, no matter what. One also has to factor in education and how informed Conservatives generally are vs democrats.

Frankly, you can count me in the list of those that has at least some admiration for Hillary Clinton. I blame our friends at HillBuzz.org for this! (Just kidding, these are some of the best folks out there. They honestly do have me looking at Clinton in a different light!)

I don’t agree with her on many issues, and sometimes have my doubts about her competency, but compared to most democrat/communist party members, she comes out looking pretty good. She’s by far the most competent member of the Obama administration.

One thing that fascinates me, especially considering both of these women truly are feminist icons, is how they got there. I also think it says a bit about Conservatives and liberals. And what matters to them.

First lets look at Hillary. Frankly, you know you are an icon, when you only need a first name, something both Hillary and Sarah pull off well! Mention either one, and people know who you are talking about, though, I give Hillary the edge here, as she’s enjoyed this status longer.

Hillary took a rather conventional path to her place in the world, even for a feminist. She met Bill in college, got married and started a family. Hillary has a degree in law, and was a practicing attorney. Of course, Bill was the politician and star of the family from the start. As he worked his way through Arkansas politics, she worked and raised their daughter. Then of course, she became First Lady of Arkansas, and then, of course, First Lady of the United States. And, no doubt, she was one of the more outspoken and active presidential spouses. Of course, like in any family, the wife is most certainly a husband’s strongest, most trusted adviser.

After Bill’s time in office was over, Hillary certainly made the most of her opportunity. She was able to use her time as First Lady to make a successful bid for the United States Senate, using that time honored tradition of trading on her successful husband’s name to get her foot in the door, and then her own ability to cross over the threshold.

This is not to take anything away from her either, it just is what it is. Hillary worked hard in the Senate, and proved that she hard earned a shot at the presidency, at least to those who support her. And she was considered the front runner. If not for Obama, she might indeed by the one sitting in the Oval Office right now. Personally, I think we’d be better off!

But she still did well, and while Obama didn’t choose her as Vice President, probably out of fear of being overshadowed, she was chosen as Secretary of State, not exactly a bad thing.

Sarah’s life and path was a little different. She was more of an athlete, and dreamed of being a sportscaster at ESPN. She was a leader even then, and as team captain, led her high school team to a state championship.

She met and married her high school sweetheart. A hard working, ruggedly handsome guy with whom she has five beautiful children. He would go one to be her trusted adviser, Sarah also put herself through school, working several jobs, as well as earning some scholarships. This, of course, is why it took her longer than many of her peers in politics. She has a degree in journalism.

Like most of us, she went to work. Among other things, she worked as a commercial fisherman, with Todd. A tough, physical, but rewarding profession. She’s the complete outdoorsman who hunts, fishes, and loves to run every chance she gets.

Finding a need to serve, she became interested in politics, and steadily went from a seat on the city council to Mayor, then made an unsuccessful run at Lt Governor, which led to a position as the state’s chief energy and environmental regulator, and that of course, led her to becoming one of America’s most successful Governors, which found her in the 2008 presidential race, as the VP nominee. Her path was that of a self made woman who really had no family or spousal name to trade on. Of course, she did enjoy the support of her entire family, all along the way.

Oh, and she got to be a sportscaster, as well. At least at the local level.

Two different paths, by two different feminine and feminist icons. That’s what makes this such an interesting poll, one that is interesting to contemplate.

This of course, brings both Hillary and Sarah to 2008 and the presidential election. Neither were successful in the respective bids, but both have endured.

Like Sarah Palin, Hillary was savaged by Barack Obama and his Chicago street thug tactics. They went after both her and Bill, America’s “first black President” as he was lovingly called by the dems until Obama showed up on the scene. With a new golden boy though, the Clintons, once the most powerful force in democrat politics, were now racists, “straight up“, as Janeane Garofalo would say.

Of course, that wasn’t even a good warm up for what the Obama slime machine had ready to go after Sarah with. Frankly, you would have thought Sarah was the Presidential candidate, and John McCain didn’t even exist. Throughout the campaign, the real contest was between Obama and Palin. Those were the two who were always compared, McCain was almost an afterthought. And frankly, considering just how poorly McCain’s “all-star” campaign performed, and how severely they restricted Palin, never allowing Sarah to just be Sarah, It was a smart strategy by Obama and his team.

Other than that one odd breakdown though where Hillary cried a bit, maybe for effect, maybe just out of sheer frustration, she endured the hate piled on her by the Obama campaign, the ultra-left wing radicals that now make up the party’s base, as well as the entire media.

Then she went to work for Obama, becoming Secretary of State, third in line to the presidency. Not too shabby.

Sarah also endured. Frankly though, and I’ve said this before, and surely will say again, in the 50 years I wandered this planet I have never seen the effort to destroy someone that I have seen thrown at Sarah Palin. You had everything Obama and his weasels could throw together, the most vile, ugly, dirtiest Chicago style hate and slime they could muster, followed by an over the top assault by the dishonest media, and of course, the recruitment, by the campaign, and then continued coordination from the White House after the election, of the Alaska Mafia., the radical bloggers and serial ethics charge filers.

Sarah of course, after watching Obama and the Mafia make her job in Alaska totally undoable, as they stole millions in taxpayer dollars, famously stepped down from office, in what is turning out to not only be an incredibly smart and self sacrificing move for Alaska, but also the shrewdest political move most of us have ever seen. This truly shows that Sarah has incredible political instincts.

Since stepping down, Sarah has become a record setting, best selling author, who is in her fifth straight week atop the New York Times Best Seller List, the spot she debuted in.

Sarah has also become the most popular Conservative in America, hit the talk show circuit, even doing a gag with Conan and Bill Shatner, and is now considered the absolute favorite to win the 2012 GOP nomination, as well as the presidency.

More importantly though, is the fact that just as the Obama campaign never let up on her, even after the election, she never let up on Obama. Unrestrained by the McCain campaign, and just being herself, Sarah has been on the attack ever since. No quarter is given to Obama, Congress or any of their insane ideas.

Sarah has turned a social network into her personal domain, and her every note to her over 1 million Facebook supporters is picked up by all of the news media and quoted world-wide. She has shown a knack for condensing relatively complicated issues down to their rawest, simplest forms for maximum impact.

Her first comment on ObamaCare and the inevitable rationing of health care, especially to the elderly, disabled, and chronically ill, birthed what might be the most important phrase of the year, if not the decade. “Death panels” will forever be the phrase most associated with ObamaCare.

Of course, as with everything Sarah, “death panels” stirred incredible controversy. (Hint: it was supposed to) Those on the left called her every name in the book, some even printable. So strong was the attempt to discredit her, the President actually felt he had to single her out, little Sarah from Wasilla, a private citizen, in his joint session in front of Congress. The dog and pony festival of lies he put on back in the summer that prompted Congressman Joe Wilson to actually call him on it, giving us the decade’s second best phrase “you lie!” This one is used often now after Obama says anything more complicated and involved than “good morning” or “hello.”

Anyhow, not only did she drive the democrat/communists crazy with this incredible succinct and accurate description of health care rationing, she also embarrassed the Rockefeller, country club, RINO wing of the Republican Party. Of course, embarrassing milquetoast moderates is fairly simple.

Now some tried to make it complicated, or were just dumb, or maybe they were trying to muddy the waters, by claiming it was all about “end of life counseling, which is certainly a troubling issue, but not where she was going.

In the end, two things have happened, the far left St Petersburg, Florida newspaper proclaimed “death panels” the “lie of the year” while simaltaniously Senate Majority Leader, and hack, Harry Reid placed a questionable provision in his version of ObamaCare that would make it nearly impossible to take the “death panels” out of the picture…ever!

Funny how liberals always try and have it both ways! “There’s no such thing as ‘death panels’ and oh, by the way, it is now impossible (and illegal) to take the ‘death panels’ out of ObamaCare!

For her part, where most people would have backed down, Sarah managed to mention death panels every chance she got! In her latest, she mentioned them no less than four times, shoving those “death panels” right up their…… well……you know where!

Long story short, Sarah has shown she is not afraid to fight what she believes in. To put it all out there, not hold back, or play it safe. She has proven she is politically courageous where others are incredibly timid. These are not the times for timidity and political cowardice.

We have seen some really interesting turns too. The media is acting a little different, treating her more seriously, even somewhat complementary. And not just the conservative media. A lot of this is because people are realizing what a complete and total disaster Obama is. He has managed to not only further anger conservatives, and totally alienate the so-called independents, he’s even got many of the far left slingin’ snot!

You really, really have to work hard to completely and absolutely piss everyone off , so congratulations Obama, you’ve not only found your true calling, you’ve managed to unite the country, just not in the way you imagined!

Again, what we are witnessing, with Sarah, is two fold. Part of this is her finally being able to be herself, and make her case to the American people, on her terms. Turns out, she incredibly good at that.

Second is all of those drunk on hopenchange are now sobering up and have one hell of a hang over. They are realizing that every single prediction Sarah made at her RNC speech, as well as on the stump, has come to pass. Now is the time for the big “I told ya so!

This is leading to wild editorials from liberals such as David Michael Green, a professor of political science at Hofstra University in New York, where he says things like this:

You know, I’ve really been trying not to write an article every other week about all the things I don’t like about Barack Obama.

But the little prick is making it very hard.

Like any good progressive, I’ve gone from admiration to hope to disappointment to anger when it comes to this president. Now I’m fast getting to rage.

How much rage? I find myself thinking that the thing I want most from the 2010 elections is for his party to get absolutely clobbered, even if that means a repeat of 1994. And that what I most want from 2012 is for him to be utterly humiliated, even if that means President Palin at the helm. That much rage.

Think this guy would have said something like that a year ago? You can read it all here, it’s worth it!

Of course, among Conservatives, Sarah has become the absolute favorite. She is the defacto leader of the movement.

Politico, which leans left, just ended a reader poll. Out of nearly 17,000 votes, Sarah was chosen by 47 % of the readers as the biggest winner of 2009. Number two was Obama at 19%. “Someone Else” was third!

In the People’s Republic Of San Francisco, Sarah’s book, Going Rogue, is number three in sales! This in a town were many booksellers were proud to proclaim they would not even offer it for sale!

Even far left Ed Schultz over at Obama Central, MSNBC proclaimed her the biggest winner, going so far as to say “Show me what she has done wrong!

This is pretty strong language.

By anyone’s measure, whatever negative feelings that have been out there about Sarah Palin, slowly, methodically, and most assuredly, she is turning those around.

So let me end by saying this. Both Sarah and Hillary deserved to be called the most admired women in America. They earned it!

These two are both the biggest winners of 2009, by far.

Hillary is a big winner, because she’s managed to avoid the absolute taint that has hung over the Obama campaign since day one. She might be the only one to walk away from this fiasco with something that resembles a career.

Of course, I’m incredibly biased and in my mind, Sarah Palin is the biggest winner of not only 2009, but of the entire decade. Absolutely everyone, but her strongest fans wrote her off when McCain lost the election in 2008.

This became a weekly ritual, anytime her name was mentioned. “X” was going to end her career, no matter what “X” was!

Then she “quit” as Governor. Oh my, political suicide. Yeah, right. Incredibly savvy move that completely changed the game on Obama and his Chicago street thug strategy of trying to stop her before she ever had a chance to come after him. This, it seems, has turned out to be a flawed strategy. There’s a reason why “they” say “let sleeping dogs lie” or “let well enough alone.

Up until midway through her book tour, we were told Sarah’s career was over. Then something happened. I don’t know if it was the big crowds, the great interviews, yucking it up with Shatner, or just the realization that this is one sharp woman, who is right more than she is wrong. One thing is for sure, there has been an incredible shift in the way most of the nation looks at Sarah Palin, and that’s not only a good thing for Sarah Palin, but a good thing for America.

America needs strong, fearless, and ethical leadership. That describes Sarah to a tee.

As we prepare to start a new year, and a new decade, America has found a true leader we can all get behind, and believe in. Someone who has the courage and ability to bring this nation away from the brink of destruction, and get it back on track.

America’s brightest and most exciting days are ahead of us, and Sarah Palin will be playing a major roll, bringing us not only energy and excitement, but the common sense and leadership we need to see this happen.

I for one cannot wait for 2010 and beyond!

Sarah Palin: Joyful Warrior, Joyful Leader

Posted by Gary P Jackson on December 16, 2009

A friend sent me the photo above a week ago last Saturday under the heading “Sarah enjoying some global warming!” The photo was taken that morning in Fairfax, Virginia as she arrived at one of her huge book signing events. Later that evening she would go on to be a real sensation at the Gridiron Club’s dinner, as one of the keynote speakers, along with Congressman Barney Frank. An event that surprised her critics and wowed her supporters.

Now being the hack that I am, and the global warming hoax being something we have been trying to expose since day one, and of course, knowing Sarah’s own stance on the issue, and well, I knew this photo could see a lot of use!

And why not? This is a great photo!

Well, that kinda became the point, to me.

You see, the more I looked at this photo, the more I realized the photographer had really done something. The photographer had managed to capture the essence of Sarah Palin, the thing that has so many millions admiring her.

Let’s face it, the camera loves Sarah Palin. You rarely find a bad photo of her, but this one hit me as special. The more I looked at the photo, the more the photo kept my attention.

I’ll be straight up here. I look at a lot of photos, every day, of all kinds of things. Most of them I either like, or I don’t. It takes me seconds to figure out if they are keepers, or not. Some hit me as strong and powerful, some just pleasant, funny, or somehow “right” for particular piece I am writing. But this photo stopped me dead in my tracks.

Now let me get the obvious out of the way first: Sarah Palin is a strikingly beautiful woman. In fact, all of the photos from her Fairfax visit have made the guys happy! As you look at this photo, you see that Sarah is really quite a strong figure. Here she is in all black, save the hat, all 5ft 6 inches of her slender frame, looking every bit the fashion model, high heels and all. It’s no wonder that soon after she became Governor of Alaska, Vogue magazine sent a team up there to do a cover shoot with her.

I’m reminded of the popular Alaskan t-shirts and bumper stickers that proudly proclaim “The coldest state, with the hottest Governor!

All of that was, of course, before Sarah became a national figure. It was OK, even with the dishonest and corrupt national media, to absolutely love Sarah Palin, and salute her as a transformative leader, as long as she stayed in Alaska! But take the girl from the frozen tundra, and all of a sudden this once praised feminist leader, this highly successful wife, mother, reformer, and Governor, becomes “evil!”

Once you realize just how much things have changed in Sarah’s life since the day that Senator John McCain called her and asked if she’d like to help him “change the world” this photo takes on even more meaning. Now like all of us, Sarah’s life wasn’t perfect. She’d had her ups and downs, triumphs and tragedies. But by any measure you want to use, Sarah Palin was, and is, a highly successful woman.

Oh sure, the Alaska Republican Party hates her, with a passion, but that’s because she took many party members down, over corruption. So corrupt that I am reminded of one of the great quotes from Mel Brooks’ original film, The Producers when, at the trial, the jury reads it’s verdict: “We, the people, find the defendants incredibly guilty!” They were that kind of guilty!

So…..some tension was to be expected!

But overall, the Alaskan people were more than just pleased with their choice as Governor. Sarah Palin’s approval rating was in the high 80’s before Obama, Pete Rouse, and the Alaska Mafia started their shenanigans. Again, incredibly successful, by any measure.

Once Sarah was picked as McCain’s running mate though, all that is ugly, vile, and hateful about the left, and they really do have the market cornered on that stuff, came to bear on Sarah. I’ve thought long and hard, and I really cannot think of anyone who has been attacked as viciously as Sarah Palin.

The left attacked Sarah, her husband, her children, especially her youngest son, Trig. In this, the left truly outdid itself. The word evil just doesn’t do some of these people and their attacks justice. And these attacks are ongoing, even to this day.

And yet, after the most concentrated, vile, hate filled attacks on a person we’ve ever witnessed, here is Sarah Palin, this strong and strikingly beautiful woman, out in the snow, in Fairfax, Virginia, loving life to it’s fullest!

You see that all of the lies, hate, filth, and unprecedented attacks on Sarah and her family, have had absolutely no effect on this wonderful woman’s spirit. If anything, they have only strengthened her resolve. Made her a little more powerful. Made her a little more “dangerous” to all of those who hate freedom and liberty. You know, the democrats!

The left, and yes, even some on the right, were stunned when Sarah stepped down as Governor, handing the ball off to her very capable Lt. Governor, Sean Parnell. Some simply didn’t understand what was going on up there in Alaska, even though Sarah’s July 3rd Independence Speech was quite clear about the situation.

When you have a group of people, headed by the President of the United States, out to destroy you, your family, and your state, in any and every way possible, you have two choices: You either allow them to destroy you and everything you love, or you take drastic and dramatic action. And dramatic action is what Sarah took.

For those that don’t know, Pete Rouse, then Barack Obama’s campaign chief-of-staff, and now a White House adviser, not only played an active role in the so-called “Troopergate” witch hunt, or as Sarah calls it “Tazergate,” he had an active role in the rest of the attacks, as well.

When Obama’s thugs failed to destroy Sarah with “Tazergate,” named for the fact that her ex-brother-in-law Trooper Michael Wooten, among other things, tazered his step son, Sarah’s nephew, seemingly for the hell of it, Rouse then worked with the various far left extremists in Alaska, including the bloggers, and other undesirables, to recruit people to continually file bogus ethics complaints, exploiting ethics laws that allow absolutely anyone to complain about anything.

As we know, all of these complaints have been dismissed as unfounded, but in the process, this ran up Sarah’s own personal legal bill to over a half million dollars. The state does not defend it’s executive from bogus attacks. Alaska is unique in this fashion.

Also, unique to the executive is this: While it is against the law to discuss or publicize any of these complaints, until they are resolved, the hate bloggers, Jeanne Devon and Shannyn Moore, who contribute the radical left wing rag, the Huffington Post, along with Linda Kellen Biegel, the democrat/communist party’s “official blogger for Alaska” and various other smear merchants would publish the details of the complaints all over the internet, many times before the complaints were even officially filed.

Of course, the dishonest and corrupt Obamacentric national media would run with these complaints like they had struck gold. All of this illegal under Alaska law, but, and this is what makes the entire ethics process a joke, there is absolutely no punishment for those who break this law. Even better, while one can file complaints willy-nilly against legislators too, if you break any of the laws, like confidentiality laws, the complaint is automatically dismissed and no further consideration given to the complainant. They are protected, but the Governor, and their staff, are not!

But, with all of the personal havoc Obama and his Chicago thug tactics were causing Sarah, that paled to what it was causing the Alaska tax payer. These complaints had basically shut Sarah’s administration down. Her staff spent much of their time dealing with Freedom of Information Act requests, including the well publicized fishing expedition by blogger Linda Kellen Biegel, who talked her readers out of a considerable amount of money so she could pursue all of Sarah’s e-mails, just looking to harass her. So far, that has not been money well spent, but that’s another story.

The bottom line on all of this is, in less than six months, Obama’s Alaska Mafia had cost the Alaska tax payers a whopping $2 million! Basically, these thugs, using typical Chicago, Saul Alinsky tactics, had, up to that point, stolen $2 million from the Alaskan people, and as we looked at it, at the time, reading the leftist blogs, and knowing these online terrorists we going to keep on filing complaints to the bitter end, we figured that these terrorists, and make no mistake, that’s what they are, were on track to cost Alaska’s hard working tax payers as much as $10 million dollars, had she stayed for the last year of her term.

So, to all but the silliest among us, Sarah did the right thing, the honorable thing, and stepped down. Now of course, her critics went into attack mode, how she “quit when the going got tough” and all of that jazz. Since then, every action Sarah has taken, has proven that little theory dead wrong.

In fact, Sarah jumped out of the pan, and into the fire. She has been more outspoken than ever, and more effective, too! As far as I am concerned, the moves by Obama to drive Sarah out of office will go down in history as one of the greatest political and tactical blunders of all time.

As Governor, Sarah was highly restricted. It was hard to leave the state, not only because of the great distances to the lower 48, but also because of the loons who always had a complaint filed when she did. It was impossible for her to write a book, for money, or give paid speeches due to Alaska’s strict rules. Another thing, Obama and his people had turned the once relatively cordial Alaskan political scene into a virtual state of war. So, as Governor, Sarah was careful in her criticism of the Dear Leader.

When you hear Sarah say that “politics changed” once she was chosen by McCain, this is what she is talking about.

We all know, as a private citizen, Sarah has been anything but quiet! She has been a constant thorn in Obama’s side. She has taken on the unconstitutional power grab, disguised as “health care reform” and she has hit Obama on energy policy, and monetary policy. She’s been quoted world wide on all. Recently, her sights have been set on crook, liar, and global warming hoaxer extraordinaire, Al Gore, the Bernie Madoff of the climate change crowd, as the entire global warming hoax collapses at his feet.

Sarah has certainly not run from the fight!

They want me to sit down and shut up. Politically speaking, if I die, I die, but I’ll know that I’ve spoken up. Stand up, speak up and be bold! Screw political correctness, never let them tell you to sit down, never let them tell you to shut up!

___Sarah Palin in her speech introducing Michael Reagan to an audience in Anchorage, Alaska in June, 2009

This brings me back to this simple, but magnificent moment in Virginia, caught on film. When I look at this photo, I see a supremely confident and virile woman. A woman who truly has the bull by the horns. A woman filled with unbelievable vitality. A woman who is in charge. A woman who wields great power.

You know what else I see? I see joy.

Sarah Palin is a happy, joyful woman, and that my friends, is the key to the whole thing. Here is a lady who has had the very worst the hatemongers of the world have to offer up thrown at her. I mean for one year solid the most vile of attacks have come her way. Most people would have stepped back, and maybe went underground for awhile, and certainly, no one could have blamed Sarah had she, herself, taken that route. But obviously, this is a woman who simply isn’t built that way.

Instead, Sarah is the team captain who would lead her high school basketball team to a state championship, playing on a broken ankle, and scoring the final game winning points. This is the young wife who, while working in the rough world of commercial fishing, had an accident that would crush her hand, sending her to the hospital, only to see her return right back to work that day.

This is the PTA mom who thought she could make a difference in her hometown and would eventually turn into a crusader against corruption as both a city councilwoman and two term mayor. This is a woman, who after being appointed the to powerful job as the state’s chief energy and environmental regulator, saw massive corruption not only in the industry she regulated, but within her own political party as well.

Unlike many of those around her, Sarah not only didn’t look away, she actively pursued justice. When it became apparent the sitting Governor, her boss, himself a Republican, would continue to block her efforts to bring those corrupt officials to justice, Sarah did what had to be done. She made the tough choice to resign and as a private citizen, take these people on. This of course, is why she is public enemy number one among the Republican Party “elites” both in Alaska and nationally. She upset a lot of apple carts in her quest to end the corruption. Kept the FBI, the courts, and the prison system in business too!

This would lead Sarah to the Governorship, and her accomplishments as Governor most certainly speak for themselves, as do the consistently high approval ratings. The highest for any Governor in the nation.

In fact, at the height of the attacks by Obama, Inc, just before her resignation, when her approval ratings eventually slipped out of the stratosphere, and came back to more earthly numbers, the left celebrated to no end that she was finally no longer the most popular Governor in America. And all it took was a constant and coordinated effort from the White House and the entire corrupt media, daily, for almost a solid year! When she left office her approval was still about 25 points higher than Obama’s is now! (And he has the most glowing press imaginable)

With all of this going on around her, just how was Sarah able to maintain her strength and remain so joyful about life?

Sarah speaks about her faith in God often. Unlike other politicians who seem to be afraid of becoming labeled as a religious extremist for daring to mention their faith, Sarah readily speaks of the strength and guidance she receives from God’s word, and how this strength and guidance serves her as she goes through life. How this helps her as a leader. As with most Americans, faith is the strong foundation that Sarah builds her life upon.

Sarah recently visited with the Reverend Billy Graham and his son Franklin. During this visit Sarah set down for an interview and discussed how her faith guides her. This is a great interview that you can see here.

It’s very important for a leader to be humble enough to say “I don’t have all of the answers.”

____Sarah Palin

Since leaving office, Sarah has written a best selling book, one that has broken records. The day the book was announced, and online retailers like Barnes&Noble and Amazon offered it up for pre-orders, it became the number one best seller at both retailers, and soon other retailers would see it hit the top of their charts, as well.

The publisher, HarperCollins, has went from an initial printing of 1.5 million, to the announcement that, so far, they have a total of 3 million books ordered for print. They are saying
this is the best selling book of the year. By the way, if you don’t have this book, you really are missing out on something special.

Sarah’s book tour has been nothing short of phenomenal. For the very first stop, in Michigan, people lined up 36 hours ahead of time, just for a spot in line to meet her. They slept outside in cold weather, braved the elements, just for the chance to get a few seconds of time with the Arctic Fox, as well as her autograph, and maybe a handshake. It’s been like this at every stop along the way. Thousands have lined up in support. Most wishing her success if she runs for President of the United States, and many convinced they had just met the next President of the United States!

As Bill O’Reilly put it Monday night on his television show, Sarah has been so successful since steeping down, that she is now running victory laps around her critics!

Part of what brought this out of him was her surprise appearance on the Tonight Show. William Shatner, who has been doing the beatnik gig for decades, doing this sort of thing with popular songs and the like, has poked fun at Sarah by reading her tweets or other pieces of work. This time he set out to give a “reading” from her book. As usual, Shatner was funny. The set up, of course, was Sarah then coming on and turning the tables on Shatner by reading from his book.

The crowd in the audience was unaware, as they had been sequestered during auditions, to make it a true surprise to them, and the audience at home. The roar heard when Sarah took the stage was simply incredible. Of course, her performance was great. Even the far left was going “oh-oh” as they realized they totally misunderestimated her talent. They begrudgingly proclaimed her performance good.

If you haven’t seen it, click here. Sarah also put up some photos on her Facebook page. She was happily entertaining some members of the Wounded Warrior Project backstage. You can view all of those by clicking here.

By the way, that red jacket? That’s the same one she wore for her book cover photo, and the same one she and Laura Ingraham are auctioning off to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and the Fisher House, two wonderful groups that help our wounded troops and their families.

Leadership is not waiting to see where it’s going. Leadership is making it go somewhere.

____Tammy Bruce

Time and time again Sarah Palin has proven she is a true leader. While other see the problems facing us, they are timid in their actions. It’s tough politically, to be a true leader. You actually have to stand for something. You have to go on record, and in this day and time, that record will follow you. God help you if you change your stance on something, even if it is because you have learned more about something that has caused you to rethink your position!

There is a difference between changing your mind based on new and important information about a subject and flip-flopping with the change of the political winds. But you’ll still catch hell!

When Sarah so eloquently spoke of “death panels” earlier this year she was slammed from every direction. The far left, the squishy Republicans, the media, and the President all pronounced her crazy, and more. Funny thing though, the people understood. One of Sarah’s great strengths is that she can take rather complicated issues and distill them down to a single, simple to understand concepts.

Health care rationing is a grim reality in government run health care. Nameless, faceless bureaucrats, using formulas created by panels of accountants, not doctors, decide who is worthy of the best treatments, and who isn’t. This discussion can get lengthy as one goes through the process governments use to come up with all of this. To say the least, it’s a complicated issue.

Death panels” really says it all though. It cuts to the chase.

While Sarah was catching hell for all of this, the usual suspects, the so-called Republican leaders, and “2012 front-runners” were hiding under their desks.

This is a pattern that is followed over and over as Sarah speaks out on the most important issues of our time.

In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated, and scorned. When his cause succeeds however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot.

____Mark Twain

We saw no better example of Mark Twain’s words than the special election held in New York’s 23rd Congressional District earlier this year. No need to rehash the whole affair here, but that was a true stand against the system. You had a backroom deal, not a primary, that put a supposedly “moderate” Republican, who was actually a far left “progressive,” in the running. DeDe Scozzafava was more radical than 43 percent of the democrat/communist party in the New York State Assembly, from where she was plucked!

Enter Doug Hoffman. He was the long shot independent with no hope. The Republican Party considered him a nuisance that would spoil their ideal “moderate” candidate’s chance. He was a spoiler.

A hand full of Conservatives came to support Hoffman. Then came the endorsement from Sarah Palin. Money came pouring in, and immediately Hoffman’s poll numbers increased. In fact, in some polling, Hoffman went from a distant third, to leading. This of course brought national attention to a small, little know race.

Sarah, because she is Sarah, was then vilified by the media and the “good old boy” Republican establishment. She was called every name in the book. The Republican “elites” were losing their minds. Sarah was singlehandedly destroying the Republican Party!

Then a funny thing happened. All of the momentum shifted to Hoffman. It seemed he had a real shot. Even better, DeDe Scozafava, the “moderate” Republican dropped out. At this point support for Hoffman came out of the woodwork. One by one, the so-called leaders all came out from under their desks and jumped on the Hoffman bandwagon. Gutless wonders all.

Whether it’s corruption, health care, energy, monetary policy, Afghanistan, the global warming hoax, or any other pressing matter, Sarah always has the courage to take on the establishment, to speak out. To take a stand while others remain timid.

Hemingway called courage: grace under pressure. Sarah Palin is one of the most courageous politicians in the modern era of American politics.

That’s a lot to get out of one photo, I know, but this is the very essence of Sarah Palin

A Sweet And Special Moment With Sarah Palin

Posted by Gary P Jackson on December 10, 2009

This came from a friend and colleague with the heading: “Wanna smile?”

We get caught up in all of the politics and problems that we are facing, all of the serious issues, that sometimes we forget to stop and just savor life.

This video comes from KTVN Channel 2 News out of Reno Nevada. Sarah was there signing books at Costco. One of the people there was a lady with her Downs Syndrome child. It turns into a really sweet and special moment with this lady’s child and Sarah’s son Trig.

Definitely a nice moment to watch and remember what life is all about.

You can view the video from KTVN here.

Sarah Palin Raises Money For Ft Hood Shooting Victims And Families

Posted by Gary P Jackson on December 7, 2009

Sarah made a very popular visit to Ft Hood, Texas to sign books and raise money for victims and families of those whose lives were forever changed by the first terror attack on American soil since September 11, 2001.

There was a large crowd of supporters at the base to welcome her to Central Texas. Sarah, who donated her royalties from all of the books sold during her visit raised a reported $10,000 for the cause.

From the Houston Chronicle:

Palin gets a hero’s welcome at Fort Hood:

Former VP candidate signs copies of her book and says royalties on some book sales will benefit a rampage victims fund

FORT HOOD — Rebecca Dalberg’s excitement over Sarah Palin’s book signing Friday night was so intense, she wanted to spend the night in a parking lot to assure a front-row seat.

Her retired military husband, Sonny Dalberg, quashed that idea because the Copperas Cove couple live less than five minutes away from the sprawling Army post where the former Alaska governor signed about 1,000 copies of her new book, Going Rogue.

The Dalbergs, who arrived 11 hours before the event, were among the first people to navigate a maze of meandering lines at the post exchange before reaching last year’s GOP vice presidential candidate.

Warm welcome

The crowd greeted her entry with a boisterous “Sar-ah, Sar-ah” chant.

She’s human. She listens to people. She doesn’t think that she’s better than anyone,” Rebecca Dalberg said. “She’s all-American. That’s Mom, apple pie and John Wayne.”

The Dalbergs paid $21 each for four books. Each person was allowed to bring two to Palin for autographs.

Palin has said royalties on books sold during her stop at Fort Hood will benefit the victims of last month’s mass shooting and their families.

Army psychologist Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is accused of killing 13 and wounding 38 soldiers and civilians.

Victims’ family members are ecstatic about Palin’s help, said Ron Taylor, president of the Central Texas chapter of the Association of the U.S. Army.

He estimated the book signings would add more than $10,000 to the fund, which will help pay for travel expenses, lodging and missed work for family members who had to rush to Fort Hood to be with their loved ones, Taylor said.

The fund, which has fetched $250,000, will help more than 100 family members, he said.

First Lt. Jonathan Brown of Tampa Bay, Fla., walked away with a smile as he clutched his autographed copy of Palin’s book.

It was my first time that I met somebody big,” said Brown, a Palin supporter. “She supports the military. She supports the American troops, and I’m a big fan of that.

Support for politician

Theresa Cockran of nearby Nolanville came away convinced she had just met the next president of the United States.

She’s like me. She’s got a heart and a soul,” said Cockran, wife of a military retiree. “I am so happy I almost wet my pants.”

Just before her visit, Sarah posted this on her Facebook page:

Worthy American Heroes – Reminding Us What Really Matters

Ready and anxious to see America’s finest at Ft. Hood tomorrow. My heart is with every military mom, dad, spouse, child, grandparent… every supporter of our proud men and women in uniform.

My brother passed the following along to me because he thought I’d like it; he was right. Enjoy… and please honor America’s finest.

– Sarah Palin

The average age of the military man is 19 years. He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is considered by society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind the ears, not old enough to buy a beer, but old enough to die for his country. He never really cared much for work and he would rather wax his own car than wash his father’s, but he has never collected unemployment either.

He’s a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student, pursued some form of sport activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, and has a steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away. He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and a 155mm howitzer.

He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he was at home because he is working or fighting from before dawn to well after dusk. He has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and reassemble it in less time in the dark. He can recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must.

He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional.

He can march until he is told to stop, or stop until he is told to march.

He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without spirit or individual dignity. He is self-sufficient.

He has two sets of fatigues: he washes one and wears the other. He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry.

He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his rifle. He can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts.

If you’re thirsty, he’ll share his water with you; if you are hungry, his food. He’ll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when you run low.

He has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were his hands.

He can save your life – or take it, because that is his job. He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay, and still find ironic humor in it all. He has seen more suffering and death than he should have in his short lifetime. He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat and is unashamed.

He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to ‘square-away’ those around him who haven’t bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even stop talking.

In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful.

Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom. Beardless or not, he is not a boy. He is the American Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 200 years.

He has asked nothing in return, except our friendship and understanding.

Remember him, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with his blood.

And now we even have women over there in danger, doing their part in this tradition of going to War when our nation calls us to do so.

As you go to bed tonight, remember this. A short lull, a little shade, and a picture of loved ones in their helmets.

Waco’s KXXV TV has additional video here.

The Austin-American Statesman has a great slideshow here.

One thing is very clear, as a former Commander-In-Chief, with a son off her own in the army, Sarah has a deep love and respect for the American fighting men and women. One thing else is becoming clear, as well: A whole lot of people see her as the next Commander-In-Chief of those brave men and women.

Sarah Palin: Faith, Family, Freedom: Remembering What Really Matters: A Big Night In Missouri

Posted by Gary P Jackson on December 3, 2009

Last night Sarah spoke to a packed house at the College of the Ozarks in Missouri. Although these things are off limits to reporters, and who can blame ‘em, the tweets were flying. I’ll have some of the better ones, with links to all, below.

But first, here’s what Sarah has to say:

Faith, Family, Freedom: Remembering What Really Matters

My parents and I just had a wonderful time at “Hard Work U” – the school motto of College of the Ozarks. It earned that proud nickname because students there work their way through college and graduate with little or no debt. (In other words, a place after my own heart, and the hearts of others who worked their way through college and, like me, maybe took five years to finish because of work schedules!)

At tonight’s patriotic event at the college we heard some amazing personal stories of heroism and sacrifice by our military veterans in attendance, including members of our Greatest Generation, who we honored tonight. It was such an inspiration to hear their stories and affirm the principles that make this country great – faith, hard work, perseverance, patriotism, and public service.

All Americans need to hear from these true, proud patriots. May we never forget their fight for freedom. Their battles make the petty shots and irrelevant “challenges” some of us face today pale in comparison. I thank them for allowing us a healthy perspective and a reminder of what really matters.

– Sarah Palin

PS: Please enjoy the photos below from Arizona, New Mexico, and Missouri!

We’ve been given permission to reprint the copyrighted photos you see, but if you want to see more, please go to Sarah’s Facebook page, here.

*Gov. Sarah Palin shakes hands with a supporter as he passes through the line at a “Going Rogue” book signing event at Borders bookstore on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, in Springfield, MO. Photo by Shealah Craighead. Copyright SarahPAC.

Here’s a video of Sarah arriving at Borders in Springfield:

The website: Governor Palin 4 President has a nice reporting of things. It seems 5,000 packed the house to see Sarah:

Point Lookout, Mo — Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said tonight she doesn’t need an official “title to affect positive change” in the country. Palin told an estimated crowd of 5,000 packed in Keeter Gymnasium at College of the Ozarks that despite her resignation, she is moving on “in the battle with new strategy.”

Palin was the keynote speaker tonight during a convocation that honored World War II veterans and others connected to the private college with “Great American” awards. Palin was the inaugural recipient of the award for her contributions to promoting patriotism, said College of the Ozarks President Jerry Davis.

Silver Dollar City co-owner Sharon “Sherry” Herschend, an alumna of the school, was among seven people who received a Great American Award from the college. The military veterans participated in a program where they visited battlefields with students to teach the young people about sacrifices their elders made, Davis said.

As part of Palin’s speaking contract, College of the Ozarks sought to ban reporters from covering the speech. But the News-Leader and other local media outlets obtained free tickets and sent reporters to cover the speech from the bleachers. Palin’s speech came after spending three hours in Springfield autographing copies of her new book “Going Rogue” at Borders Bookstore on South Glenstone Avenue.

Palin talked about how she got started in politics, working her way up from the Wasilla, Alaska, City Council to mayor and then eventually to chair of the Alaska Gas and Oil Conservation Commission and governor of the state.

As a city councilwoman, Palin said she didn’t conform to the town elders’ standards for the status quo of governance. “I kind of went rogue, even back then,” Palin said jokingly, making a reference to her book title and history of going off-script while running for vice president last year.

Palin spoke to a friendly crowd that routinely applauded what she had to say about the current state of affairs in Washington, D.C., and her call for the country to return to its “pioneering values” of work hard, independence and taking care of your neighbors.

“History and common sense tells us that when government tries to take care of us, it ends up robbing us of our ability to help ourselves,” Palin said. “If we empower people to be free, providing a hand up but not a hand out … then we will become a more prosperous and generous nation.”

Here are a few choice tweets from the night. BTW, when you see @ SarahPalinUSA folks are of course referencing Sarah herself. Twitter has it’s own protocol, it seems.

From Chad Livengood of the News-Leader:

“Borders manager says Palin signed up to 1,200 books for 700-900 people in 3 hours. That’s a signature every 9 seconds. http://tiny.cc/MZlOj

“The Borders manager said yesterday he didn’t think they could handle anymore than 500 people, so they consider this good.”

“The first mention of @SarahPalinUSA gathers a standing applause at the convocation, which is underway.”

“College of the Ozarks is awarding @SarahPalinUSA its inaugural “Great American Award’ for her patriotism and spreading it.”

“C of O’s Jerry Davis: “If all you know about Sarah Palin is what the so-called mainstream media has to say, you’ve got a lot to learn.”

“Jerry Davis just introduced @SarahPalinUSA: “She has her hand on the heart beat of America,” he said.”

“@SarahPalinUSA on Jerry Davis: “I just love him. He’s such a hoot.” She says he’s like her in that he “goes off script” and goes “rogue.”

“Palin is talking about work ethic & pushing one’s self to better their lives. “I don’t believe in coincidences,” she said.”

“@SarahPalinUSA says she returned home from campaign trail to new political rivals, bringing Alaska gov’t to a “grinding halt.”

“@SarahPalinUSA is getting to why she quit: “We spent about 80% of our time fending off frivilous lawsuits.”

“@SarahPalinUSA says she resigned “with no scandals running me out of office, despite what the media desperately wanted to find.”

“Possible @SarahPalinUSA Quote of the Night: “You don’t need a title to affect positive change.”

You can read more of Chad’s take on the night here.

Fox2now, the local Fox affiliate, has some great video. It’s interesting to see young and old. One 20 something girl who drove in from St Louis is interviewed, as well as a guy of about the same age, who drove in from Arkansas, and says that not only does he feel that Sarah will be the leader of the Conservative movement by 2012, he also has hopes she will be the next Ronald Reagan!

Personally, when I hear younger folks mention the Great Renaldus Magnus with such reverence, it really makes me feel good about the direction our younger generation will take us. You can see the video here.

Citizen Palin 4 President, another website devoted to a Sarah Palin presidency, has more really great video, including a truly glowing report from Fox2now. The word rock star is used quite often! Check out the website and see the videos here.

Here are some tweets from Ron Davis:

“SP: ‘As ur spine is stiffened, the spines of others will be stiffened.'”

“Calls self mix of federalist, Jeffersonian.”

“SP: much media coverage ‘waste of ink.'” (Editor’s note: I agree!)

“Says ethics chgs were ‘game being played.'”

“On resigning: God has ‘so blessed that decision.'”

“Says US at crossrds in ‘economic, military n values oriented battles.'”

“Crisis abt nation’s identity, she says.”

Dave Catanese offers his take:

“In giving award to @SarahPalinUSA, C of O prez citing her dedication to military veterans as Governor.”

“@SarahPalinUSA now helping honor 7 World War II/Vietnam vets who participate in school’s Patriotic Travel Program.”

“Maybe College of the Ozarks president Jerry Davis should run for office. The guy’s a heck of a storyteller. Got more 1-liners than ”

“Jerry Davis’ intro: “If all you know about Sarah Palin is what the mainstream media says about her, you’ve got a lot to learn.””

“Davis cites Palin’s motto: “No more politics as usual.” “I’d like to see that in Washington myself,” Davis says to cheers.”

“Palin speaking now… “Davis is such a hoot.” Mentions FOX News appearance. Cheers. “I knew he was gonna go rogue,” Palin adds.”

“Palin says College of the Ozarks debt-free education should be model for the nation.”

“Palin says never thought taking 5 yrs to get a 4-yr degree would be an issue until the “lame-stream” media took issue with it.”

“Palin says she’s “an ordinary American given extraordinary opportunities” because she’s put her life in God’s hands.”

“Palin:”Despite what the media wants to..spin about my record…I will keep calling it as I see it.”

“@SarahPalinUSA cites journalism degree: “So much has changed in the world of journalism since then…Holy Moly!”

“@SarahPalinUSA touting work as city councilwoman in Wasilla, “bucking consensus.” “Only dead fish go with the flow,” she says”

“Palin says the reason she wants to keep gov’t power on the local level, because she’s lived it. Encourages involvement in local politics.”

“@SarahPalinUSA calls veep nod “honor of a lifetime” she doesn’t regret but outlining sacrifices she had to make”

“Palin now on 4th mention of media, says “media isn’t fond of common sense conservative values.” But adds she’s not whining”

“Palin also says during the campaign, “the media did spin” her lifestory into “something unrecognizable.” Can’t imagine why media is barred.”

“Palin mounting a complete defense against attacks, lawsuits, gossip and media coverage of her during ’08 campaign.”

“Palin says she prayed about how to stop “the hurt and paralysis” in her state. “Calling the audible has worked for my state,” she says.”

“@SarahPalinUSA now turning to issues, says “misplaced government interference” caused economic crisis, “not our free-market principles.”

“@SarahPalinUSA: “Things crashed…darnit… in the midst of our campaign.” “John McCain and I placed 2nd out of 2.”

“@SarahPalinUSA says it’s beyond ridiculous to complain about last administration’s spending when Obama has spent 4 times more.”

“@SarahPalinUSA hits POTUS for “apologizing” to foreign countries. No mention of Obama’s Afghanistan strategy.”

“Palin’s concludes her 50-minute speech to a standing O. I’m off to our satellite truck. See you live on Ky3 News @ 10!”

You can see all of Dave’s tweets here. He gives a great accounting of the event, but is clearly miffed that the media wasn’t allowed in, though, there he was! Again this is standard for private speeches. Poor fellow was stuck in the nosebleed section of gym, as well. But a nice summation on his part anyhow.

Catanese’s blog has some neat video of Sarah’s dad, Chuck rippin’ on the “liberal media back east” and of Sally, Sarah’s mom, that you can see here.

“The liberal media back east, they raise hell with her. She’s tough. It hurts us when they hit the kids, but when you’re a politician, that comes with the territory”

___Chuck Heath

As always, wherever Sarah goes, she is a hit. Sarah brings something that no one else out there can. Sarah has a quality about her that can’t be bought. It can’t be learned and it can’t be taught. It just is.

Many people compare Sarah to the Great Ronald Reagan, and of course, that’s a valid comparison, and one that makes a lot of sense. After all, Sarah has studied Reagan since she was a kid, and quotes him in almost every speech or interview.

Both Reagan and Sarah come from small towns, went to small schools, including the “wrong colleges” and have a working class background. Like Sarah, Reagan was even a sportscaster!

But it goes further than the superficial stuff. Sarah, like Reagan, has an unbelievably strong work ethic. She has the ethic of those who spend a lifetime working with their hands. Sarah understands why our founders designed our form of government, and believes in that direction.

Sarah understands that America is it’s people, not it’s government. That left alone, the American people have made this the greatest nation on earth.

Ronald Reagan railed against the government his entire career. Sarah is cut from that same cloth. Both know that government isn’t the answer, government is the problem.

One more important thing, like Reagan, Sarah sees America as “that shining city on a hill,” this wonderful place were men are free and everyone has a chance to succeed. A nation that is the envy of the world and has inspired other nations and other peoples to be free.

Sarah brings a good old fashioned common sense with her that is rare among politicians these days. She also brings a western independence and an Alaskan pioneering spirit, a can do kind of attitude, no doubt shaped by life in the rugged wilderness of Alaska.

It’s no wonder that the College of the Ozarks saw fit to honor Sarah with it’s inaugural “Great American Award” for promoting patriotism.

Fresh from debuting in the coveted number one spot on the New York Times Bestseller List comes the announcement that Sarah’s book, Going Rogue, An American Life, has reached platinum status by selling one million copies.

HarperCollins spokeswoman Tina Andreadis said Tuesday that just two weeks after publication, Sarah Palin’s memoir has sold 1 million copies. The print run for “Going Rogue” has been increased again, to 2.8 million copies. The original printing was 1.5 million, then moved up to 2.5 million.
