Gov. Palin: C’mon, PETA — where’s the beef?

Posted by Dr. Fay on January 6, 2015

Sarah Palin said on the 'Today' show Tuesday there was no harm to her young son climbing on the dog, a black lab trained as a service dog for her son Trig who has Down syndrome.

Governor Palin wrote an exclusive statement for NBC and appeared on the Today show to discuss her response to PETA’s latest attack.  Here is her statement posted at Today.com.  In case you didn’t know already, ‘okole’ is a word used in Hawaii for “butt”.

At least Trig didn’t eat the dog’: Sarah Palin responds to PETA after photo of son standing on dog goes viral

Jan. 5, 2015 at 7:12 AM ET

Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is back in the spotlight, responding to criticism over a photo of her son, Trig, standing on the family dog. In an exclusive statement to NBC News, Palin expands on a Facebook post from Saturday.

[WATCH Today Show segment here.]

PETA needs to chill. At least Trig didn’t eat the dog.

Where have they been all these years? Maybe enjoying a good steak when their Woman of the Year, Ellen DeGeneres, posted the exact same sweet image of a child with her dog. Or maybe they were off moose hunting when their Man of the Year, Mayor Bill de Blasio, dropped and killed a critter at a political photo op? Who knows what they were doing when their Man of All Time, Barack Obama, admitted to actually EATING dog, and enjoying it! C’mon PETA — where’s the beef?

[…]

No, the double standards applied by hypocrites at PETA make me and every other kid — and dog-lover — say “kiss my okole.” They’re not attacking me because I showed people a special needs child and his happy, healthy, beloved service dog; they’re attacking me because, well, I’m me. So what’s new? PETA throws raw meat in front of their attack dogs and says sic ‘em, and we have a choice in how to react to these kind of haters who’ll keep on hating. We either accept their attacks as stumbling blocks, or see them as stepping stones to make a point about truth. Ironically, PETA has made my exact point I wrote about in my New Year’s Resolution piece. Nice!

I grew up with dogs who were part of the family; a big part. I love dogs and am blessed to see our pets so happy and strong, living life so freely and vibrantly in Alaska’s majestic wide open spaces. Our dogs aren’t the only ones dearly loved — we have been overwhelmed by good people all across America sending us proud pictures of their kids interacting with dogs in similar loving, real life ways.

Trig Palin and Jill Hadassah

Trig Palin and the family dog, Jill Hadassah.

Jill Hadassah was born and trained to help those with challenges most of us will never understand. We adopted her for our youngest son from an amazing friend in Iowa who runs a foundation that raises and trains dogs for our wounded warriors. These dogs can change a disabled vet’s life, and that’s a beautiful thing! Certainly the Puppy Jake Foundation has changed our life for the better. I am in love with this four-legged family member! So is Trig, and it’s so revealing that the Political Left knows no bounds as they attack him and now even good, selfless supporters and trainers at the Puppy Jake Foundation. I hope the foundation is overwhelmed with support from caring Americans now so that good comes from PETA’s bad acts in this.

Again, I’m thankful these double standard bearers proved my entire point in that post: do they think their threats and efforts to shut me down are a stumbling block? Nah, this is a stepping stone for any American with common sense and love for kids and dogs — we just proved the haters’ double standard nonsense, and, thus, their irrelevance.

— Sarah Palin

P.S. Should Jill Hadassah have not enjoyed Trig’s playing with her, guess it would have reminded us another important lesson – sometimes life jumps up and bites you in the okole, but you don’t stop moving and baby you just Shake It Off.

During an interview with Kevin Scholla  (see last paragraph of this article at Breitbart), Congressman Ted Yoho, who is a veterinarian, confirmed Governor Palin’s assessment of the situation:

“The dog is better judge of what’s going on than any outside group, and they need to back off of that, and respect the rights of that family, and the rights of that dog.”

Governor Palin also posted the text of this imaginary letter from Kevin Scholla’s dog as well as a link to it on her Facebook page yesterday:

—————-

AN OPEN LETTER TO JILL HADASSAH PALIN

by Rex Scholla (Kevin’s dog)

Hello Miss Jill
My name is Rex. My human dad does a lot of radio work and writing in support of your buddy Trig’s mom. I’m a black lab too, but I’m a mutt so I’m only part Lab. They think I’m also Jack Russell. Anyway, I’m writing to tell you that I have your (for lack of a better term) back.
That Trig kid was standing on you I see. Well that hit home! I have a six year old friend too. She’s pretty gentle with me. Girls seem to be that way. But she has this brother. He’s four and he reminds me of Trig a bit. But if you think you have it bad with Trig on your back, listen to this. He makes me play Batman every day! I have to be Ace the Bat Hound! I’m like “Dude, my name is Rex!” Sometimes I even wear a Bat suit.
When we’re not playing Batman he wrestles with me. If he gets too rough I let him know. Usually a little growl will get him back in line. Every once in awhile I’ll scratch him just to get my point across. Humans catch on eventually. The funny thing is I like playing with him. Yeah, I’m their dog but they’re also my kids. I’m sure you feel the same way.
Just like you were adopted by the Palins from the awesome Puppy Jake Foundation, I was adopted by the Scholla family. They found me on a highway, homeless. I was under weight, I had two kinds of worms, my nails were too long. I didn’t even know what a leash or collar was. Now, I’m having a blast. I’m a big part of the family. I hear you are too. I’m not surprised.
I know Trig’s grandfather has a cool black dog named Bo who sniffs for antlers. Showoff! Trig’s sister Willow spoils her little foo-foo dog. I mean that with love of course. I’m a city guy so I’m not used to prim and proper pups. The point is, you were brought into the Palin family because you are specially trained to help a guy like Trig and be his buddy. You are doing a great job. It looks like that training paid off because you know exactly how to deal with Trig. I bet a lot of that is just in your heart.
Have a great winter in Alaska. We are both fortunate to be spoiled pups in loving homes. Not to scare you or anything but did you know some people eat dogs? There’s a skinny guy in Washington, DC that actually ate a dog! Makes a kid on your back seem pretty pedestrian. Oh, and don’t listen to these people saying bad things about the picture of Trig on your back. They have a political agenda. I’m not sure what that means but the guy in the house I mentioned earlier told me that. That one group PETA says they’re for dogs and then they go out and kill a bunch of us. Don’t go anywhere near them.

Gov. Palin to House GOP: Please consider Gohmert or Yoho when you vote for Speaker today

Posted by Dr. Fay on January 6, 2015

Posted on Governor Palin’s Facebook page this morning:

————–

House GOP,

As you compete to make it to the Capitol this morning through that DC snow, remember that competition is good in ALL things; it makes everyone work harder and producer better, and it keeps us fresh, active and on our toes! It’s time for new energy and positive progress in Congress. Please consider “Gunnin’ for Gohmert” or going “Yahoo for Yoho” when you vote for Speaker of the House today. Both Representatives are true Constitutional, commonsense conservatives who’ve proven to America they keep their promises to We the People. They know they serve America, not the power brokers in DC. With all due respect we can thank yesterday’s Congressional leadership for years of service and be confident that former title holders will do the right thing and unite with NEW leadership today!

Gov. Palin: I’d be rootin’ for Louie [Gohmert]

Posted by Dr. Fay on January 6, 2015

Video retrieved from iizthatiiz

Governor Palin talked with Sean Hannity last night about the PETA controversy and about the push to replace John Boehner as Speaker of the House.  She pointed out the hypocrisy of PETA and gave several examples.  When asked if she agreed with 60 % of Republicans who want John Boehner ousted as Speaker of the House, she expressed her support for Louie Gohmert as Boehner’s replacement.

There is a Facebook event with phone numbers for key Representatives to call up until the time of the vote on House leadership today (h/tp Jackie Siciliano).  This information can be found here:
