Gov. Palin: Alaska first! It’s time.

Alaska Wins With Independence; Stepping Aside for the Greater Good

Our family is proud to support Bill Walker to lead Alaska! Bill Walker, Byron Mallott, and their families joined with ours and other Alaskans in Todd’s airplane hangar this week in a show of true Alaskan support, complete with a potlatch brimming with salmon, moose, and caribou hors d’oeuvres. Life-long Alaskans Bill and Byron have proven that they truly have our state’s heart and believe in putting Alaska first and ignoring status quo politics that get in the way of Alaska’s destiny. This is refreshing and productive, and Alaska wins when Team Walker wins! This unity ticket came about when winners of their respective primary races selflessly stepped aside for the sake of Alaska! This is rarely done in politics and proves that this strong independent ticket represents an Alaskan-sized heart, putting people over party machine politics and Alaskans over egos.

Bill’s blue collar history and professional experience in practicing law fit perfectly with policies to move our state forward by developing our abundant natural resources. He and Byron are proven fiscal conservatives who know state government’s recent practice of deficit spending will halt development and make us dependent on a dysfunctional federal government.

The Last Frontier’s destiny as the nation’s leader in energy development, which will lead to Alaskan independence while helping secure our union, can only be fulfilled with decisive leadership that puts our residents first. The ability to move us forward by empowering a thriving private sector takes unifying action. Too many long-awaited projects and challenges – like the National Guard scandal – are made worse because of indecisive leadership, and that’s debilitating. We can’t afford to put development on the back burner while other states and nations surpass our opportunities, and we can’t sweep ethics problems under the table.

Unfortunately, in desperation to halt Team Walker’s momentum, lies are running rampant. Sadly, one such lie is about their faith. Don’t believe the million dollar Outside money ads perpetuating misrepresentations; just ask the guys themselves where they stand. For example, on the issue of respecting a culture of life, a pro-family group is grossly misrepresenting Bill’s position. He is unapologetically pro-life. Groups, individuals, and incumbent politicians telling you otherwise are untruthful, and that says everything about their character. Shame on people who know better and are in positions to counter lies but turn a blind eye instead. This kind of politics of personal destruction is why our country is hurting; adding to the pain are attempts here in Alaska to destroy a good man. Participants in this do not deserve your support.

I’m proud of the ethics reform my administration ushered in, and I know Bill and Byron will re-start and build on that with an independent spirit beholden only to the people of Alaska, not to any political party. Nothing’s been handed to these guys. They’ve worked alongside us all over the state in true Alaskan spirit and know the value of a good job. They want that for every Alaskan family! So our diverse family, enjoying years of connections with both candidates, take a stand for Bill and Byron’s unity team. It’s time to get our state back on track to fiscal discipline so we can grow with the surplus Alaska had enjoyed under my administration.

Please support Walker/Mallott on November 4th. Alaska First! It’s time.

One Response to “Gov. Palin: Alaska first! It’s time.”

  1. W. Harrison said

Here is something that came to me. A note said this has been “circulating quietly”. Seems like something that only liberals would want quiet. Will leave it here and hope it will spread. Maybe someone besides liberals will have something “fun to watch”. The writer makes good points that can help with the election but may not know Washington. Besides precedents, Obama’s damage is done. The America-needs-to-be-even-more-crazy-and-lazy crowd has a new head already and it’s full of commandments.

    Change the Channel
In his 1990 essay “America’s Slide into the Sewer”, on the subject of music that glorifies violence against women, George Will wrote, “When that is ‘mainstream,’ this will be an interesting country.” By 2012, America was interesting enough that the murderer of a 75-year old New York City man chose to write an obscene message on the victim’s body using lipstick, and the incident did not stand out greatly. In fact, the brutal murder and its sordid aftermath had little chance of winning an award for depravity in 2012, The Year of the Gay Cannibal.

Today’s political Left is either unable or unwilling to see a connection between its constant attacks on normalcy and headlines about gay cannibals or a lipstick-wielding murderer. That is one dangerous fault of the Left, and another is that they will attack any limit placed on trends they consider progressive, with no regard for whom or what a particular limit is protecting. The combination of those two faults led President Obama, on Super Bowl Sunday of 2013, to offer his opinion that the Boy Scouts of America should be inclusive of gays. He either does not know or thinks it does not matter that the youngest Boy Scouts are 5th graders, and he sees no harm, even at this advanced stage in our slide, in pushing for more liberal parenting and stewardship of children.

Obama’s Super Bowl Sunday effort to sack childhood fell between partying with Lady Gaga at his Inauguration and golfing with Tiger Woods a few weeks later. The President of the United States strung together regressive, gruesome, and crass, and he made it look easy.
In January of this year, the leader of the executive branch of government added a second barrel to his future-killing shotgun by stating, in regard to the legalization of marijuana in Colorado and Washington, that “it is important for it to go forward.” Obama’s ‘reasoning’ was that it is important for marijuana to be made legal because marijuana laws are not uniformly enforced across groups with different average incomes. If that is the concern, then what is important is to work toward uniform enforcement of the nation’s laws, a job that belongs—inconveniently, for him—to the executive branch of government.

It is especially grating that Obama compared the likelihood of incarceration on marijuana-related charges between “kids” of different income levels. It can be inferred from this choice of words that he thinks the use of pot at a young age is acceptable (admirable?), but it would be helpful if someone in the press would ask his specific opinions on the proper age limits for using and selling pot. It may be the President’s view that 5th grade also is a good point in life at which to begin using pot, or at least taking that first step of socializing with older “kids” who are open users of pot.

Re-election set Obama free to follow his mind into all the places it goes. What we can conclude from his liberation is that, despite being in the sixth decade of life, he has a poorly-parented teenager’s level of discernment. The Democrats’ Pied Piper excels at irresponsible opinions and examples. As compared to prior Presidents, this appears to be Obama’s most distinguishing trait.

But the recklessness of the Left existed prior to Obama’s rise and runs deeper than one individual. Leading youth astray is part of what the Left does for a living, in both government and the private sector. As a recent two-headed example, in late 2013 two Colorado non-profit organizations issued ads that used sex and alcohol to promote Obama’s health care plan to college students, and subsequently Obama’s Health and Human Services Secretary failed to disapprove of the ads when given a chance to do so by Congress. A director for one of the non-profits described the controversy caused by the ads as “fun to watch”, exemplifying liberalism’s usual lack of regard for societal norms. “Fun” is the liberal view of the episode. For sane people, the ads are a sobering visual summary of how the Left views and influences young adults, more clips from their ongoing horror show.

And now it is early October, with national elections a month away. Some districts, states, and demographic groups are predisposed toward what is now the party of cultural rot. Other districts, states, and demographic groups are predisposed in the opposite direction. The districts, states, and demographic groups not predisposed either way hold the balance of power. My hope is that those in the Center, when voting on November 4, will:

Keep in mind that this is America. It is a land where people from many places with many different abilities have come to build a better future, and they have worked at building that better future without legalized marijuana, strident atheism (the Left’s next plague—brace for it), or gay-friendly 11 year olds. Somehow, our predecessors made progress without any of those.

Avoid assuming that there will be any natural (i.e., self-imposed) limit to the inclination of the Left toward the sewer. If there is a natural limit, the evidence suggests that, in the Obama era, it is a limit located well below street level. Further into the sewer is where the Left will take us if they are not derailed. On the present course, do not be surprised if the next gay cannibal in the news is a minor.

Keep in mind where the Democratic Party is situated now, as judged by its leadership. While Obama will be the leader of the party only for about 27 more (long) months, there is evidence that he has had a significant degrading influence on other party leaders. He does not just exhibit bad judgment—he radiates it, and that is one reason the Democratic Party is now of the Left, by the Left, and for the Left.

Keep in mind that the slide has been going on for some time now, long enough to impair the judgment and skew the perception of many, including the President and his followers. Some fraction of the population is too far gone to grasp the need to stop what Obama has accelerated; they are too coarse to value order and too callous to honor childhood. If you have been able to avoid the vortex of the Left, your country needs your help in defeating Obama’s party.

Keep in mind the recent on-air resignation in Alaska. Profanely and childishly quitting a productive job to pursue a drug-centric occupation is misguided selfishness. It was a too-much-already moment that precipitated this warning from the Center about the Left. The President’s fingerprints are on the resignation, and the resignation is evidence of another step in the decline of standards.

Take the advice of liberals who say “just change the channel” if you do not like what you are seeing. As you use the remote control to maintain standards inside the home, avoid voting for Democrats to do the same outside the home. If the stated beliefs of a party’s leaders are below the standards of your own social circle, then there likely is some danger in voting for that party’s candidates. There is risk to the country if we voters in the Center continue to be enablers of the Left’s efforts to drive down standards.

If you are a woman, keep in mind that men did not choose Obama. It was women that elected our President Gone Wild. The fact that a majority of you (women) have voted for Obama’s Democrats in recent elections is a case of feeding a hand that beats you. Here are some effects of liberalism that have undermined and continue to undermine women: a weakened criminal justice system (which women preferentially need for protection); an increased tolerance of difficult and dangerous students in classrooms (taught in greater percentages by women); a steady increase in the inappropriateness of imagery imposed on young and teen-aged girls; and a steady decrease in the percentage of men who can get by without wearing earrings. The Left may deny being a major cause of any of those effects, but those denials will be lies or self-deceit.

Keep in mind that voting along party lines is what Congress does. Obama is not on the ballot, but his servants are. Let his servants mumble insincerely about not being Obama Democrats, and then, when their mumbling ends, check their voting records and their records of silent compliance with Obama’s under-and-under shotgun and other liberal outrages such as the Colorado health care ads.

Adapting a few words from the Left, it will be good if we use the coming election to “Speak truth to rot.” The best case for our future is a defeat for Democrats that is convincing in magnitude and corrective in tone. Please use the election to vote out Obama’s followers, defenders, and enablers.
