Palin to New Hope graduates: ‘Go forth and conquer, but do not be afraid to fail’

Posted by Dr. Fay on May 21, 2014

Sarah Palin was guest of honor at New Hope High School's graduation.

Governor Palin spoke at the New Hope High School’s commencement this evening. reports:

NEW HOPE, AL (WAFF) – Former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin visited Huntsville on Wednesday to speak at a graduation ceremony.

Palin’s appearance was paid for by an anonymous donor from the community. No one has released just how much Palin received for showing up. School officials stressed her appearance did not cost the school system.

The students may not have been up on the politics surrounding Palin’s visit – they were fairly young when she was running for Vice President, but quite a few said they were thrilled to have someone of national stature coming to the graduation ceremony for a small-town high school like New Hope.

Sarah Palin’s message to the Class of 2014 was about facing fears, accepting the possibility of failure, and learning from what you experience.

“One piece of advice,” Palin told the seniors at the beginning of her address. “There is no need to remember the speaker tonight… go forth and conquer, but do not be afraid to fail.”

Palin said that things that may seem like failures are things that people can learn from.

“Avoiding failure, shying away from competition so you don’t feel a temporary hurt… that is not success,” she continued. “You have a choice in how to act regarding the less than ideal circumstances. You become bitter, or you become better… God’s got your back.”

“Congratulations, Class of 2014. You bring New Hope to this country,” she concluded.

After her speech, Palin stood among school leaders to shake the hands of each graduate as they accepted their diplomas.

This recent article by Brian Kelly at provides some background on how Governor Palin came to speak at this particular graduation.

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – So why is Sarah Palin speaking at New Hope High School’s graduation on Wednesday?

Simple: Cathy Maples asked her.

Maples, a Huntsville businesswoman, has struck up a friendship with Palin over the years. And when a special occasion arrived, Maples turned to Palin.

Camden Brewer, Maples’ grandson, is among the 77 New Hope graduates who will hear Palin speak Wednesday night before what’s expected to be a full Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center. Tickets available to the general public were gobbled up a day after the announcement.

Maples confirmed in an email today to that she asked Palin to speak at the graduation.

“I have met Sarah numerous times and have had dinner with her,” Maples said in the email. “She is the real deal and she is not afraid to speak out about things that are not ‘politically correct.'”

Maples, who is president of R&D Electronics in Brownsboro, bid $63,000 in 2009 to win a dinner with Palin.

Gov. Palin: Obama’s favorite convenient excuse for ignorance of scandals

Posted by Dr. Fay on May 21, 2014

Posted on Governor Palin’s Facebook page yesterday:

Sarah Palin

Obama knows nothing, sees nothing, and hears nothing unless his lapdogs bark, then his ears perk up. Not exactly using a hunting dog to flush out the truth, is he? Kind of reminds me of that famous Will Rogers quote: “All I know is just what I read in the papers, and that’s an alibi for my ignorance.”

The head of a government that has the most sophisticated spying apparatus ever created can monitor who we talk to, what we talk about, how many twinkies our kids eat and the calories we consume, where we travel, etc. etc., yet announces our President’s daily Intelligence report is actually prepared by Matt Drudge. Hmmm. Perhaps the NSA should take out ads in the sports section to assure the President reads his morning Intelligence briefing.

Here’s a quick video of our Community Organizer-in-Chief explaining his lack of knowledge of the nation’s major scandals, using his favorite convenient excuse and perhaps also saying much about his management skills with a dysfunctional, disinterested staff. What do you think?

Here is the article on that she linked to:

This video montage shows the Obama Administration claiming they knew nothing about scandals such as Fast and Furious and the Internal Revenue Service targeting until they were leaked by news outlets.

Gov. Palin: Please support constitutional conservatives going forward to November

Posted by Dr. Fay on May 21, 2014

Sarah holding up fist at CPAC 2014

Posted on Governor Palin’s Facebook page last evening:

Congratulations to the recent victorious primary election campaigns. We trust you’re rested up because America needs you to put shoulder to the grindstone as time marches toward this fall’s general election. Our nation’s future depends on a conservative agenda that lets freedom flourish and industry thrive with American workers again.

We need a united front to combat the egregious agenda under which our economy, security, and freedoms now suffer. It’s only by banding together to push conservatives across the finish line that America can recover. How to do it? Focus. Keep your eye on the ball. Remember the real threat to our country’s solvency and sovereignty is the liberal pro-Obama candidates we’ll face this fall.

A special thanks tonight to Georgia senate candidate Karen Handel for having the courage to jump into the ring and fight for what is right. Our nation becomes a better nation when good candidates like Karen come forward and offer to serve for the right reasons. The party of Lincoln and Reagan needs more strong, confident conservative women like her. Teddy Roosevelt’s quote about the man – or woman – “in the arena” is applicable here: God bless the candidate “who strives valiantly,” and “if [she] fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that [her] place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”

Many more primary races are underway. Constitutional conservatives will be the ones to adhere to the blueprint our Founders created for us to follow towards a more perfect union. Please support them. United we’ll stand for the exceptional nation America is destined to be again. Divided we’ll fall under continued failed liberal policies.

Thank you, campaign volunteers and informed voters! Hang in there; God bless you for your good efforts! Campaigns going forward, like Nebraska’s Ben Sasse, are in need of our involvement now more than ever. Here’s a reminder of what patriots can do together for our nation:
