Gov. Palin endorses Dan Bongino in Maryland Congressional race – primary June 24

Posted by Dr. Fay on May 3, 2014

Posted on Governor Palin’s Facebook page yesterday:

DAN BONGINO FOR U.S. HOUSE FROM MARYLAND

Dan Bongino is a unique candidate in politics today. His boots on the ground experience in Washington, D.C. has given him the wisdom and warrior spirit we need to stop the far left liberal agenda that is fundamentally transforming America. A bonus for all of us is Dan’s background and rigorous training as a U.S. Secret Service agent. He’ll put to good use the positive characteristics that have been instilled in him with tenacity and dedication to principles. We need more like him!

I was proud to support Dan’s candidacy in 2010 for U.S. Senate against an entrenched liberal in a state that many in the GOP had long abandoned. We’re not giving up! Maryland deserves the best, and Congress sure needs the help, so Dan is back, more prepared than ever! It’s an honor to support Dan in his bid to reclaim a very important Congressional seat. He’s running for the right reasons. He’s prepared for this opportunity to serve the people and to put government back on our side by getting it off our back. Watch some of Dan’s past videos and speeches and there will be no doubt he’s worthy of your support.

These elections are more than just liberal vs. conservative or Republican vs. Democrat – it’s come down to us vs. them – the people vs. the politicians. We need more of “We the People” – like Dan – to take on Washington and take our country back.

A staunch defender of our liberties and Constitution, Dan will be an important voice for our cause in Congress. As a Secret Service agent, Dan has seen first hand the ugly underbelly of Washington, D.C. behind the scenes – backroom deals and crony capitalism at its worst. He knows better than most what we are up against and how to combat it. Let’s cede no ground in the fight to restore America in 2014. Please get behind Dan Bongino and send him to Congress where he will help lead America toward exceptionalism again!

– Sarah Palin

From an article by Tony Lee at Breitbart.com:

Sarah Palin Endorses Dan Bongino for Congress

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin endorsed Maryland Congressional candidate, former Secret Service agent for Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, and best-selling author Dan Bongino Friday.

Palin called Bongino, who is running in Maryland’s Sixth Congressional District, a “unique candidate in politics today” because “his boots on the ground experience in Washington, D.C. has given him the wisdom and warrior spirit we need to stop the far left liberal agenda that is fundamentally transforming America.”

{…]

As Breitbart News reported, Bongino has always stood up for Palin, even in a Washington “bubble” full of phonies on both sides of the aisle who find it “cool” to trash Palin behind her back to be liked by more establishment figures. Bongino even gave up an opportunity to promote his book on Martin Bashir’s show after Bashir suggested someone should urinate and defecate in Palin’s mouth.

Bongino had been booked before those comments that eventually led to Bashir’s ouster to promote his best-selling book, Life Inside the Bubble, but he told Breitbart News then that he, in good faith, could not appear on the program.

“In light of these comments I felt it only appropriate to cancel my appearance on the show. Governor Palin took a principled chance on me during my U.S. Senate campaign when few would,” Bongino told Breitbart News. “She put herself out there for me, risking her political capital, and chose to endorse me because she believed in me.”

He went on: “In a political arena filled with bad actors it was refreshing to know that Governor Palin was willing to fight for the underdog. She deserves better than the treatment she received by Mr. Bashir and I cannot, in good faith, appear on the show, regardless of the number of books it may or may not sell.”

Palin has always cited Bongino as someone who would be a different kind of politician who would stand for principle and fight against entrenched interests, and Bongino’s actions have proven that he is that type of person.

Posted by Dr. Fay on May 3, 2014

Posted on Governor Palin’s Facebook page yesterday:

Proven conservative Karen Handel is surging in the Georgia Senate race – tied for first place in a just released poll. Karen is fueled not by D.C. money or the political establishment, but by grassroots conservative Georgians. Help us get the word out that early voting is now under way until May 16th and Georgia’s primary is May 20th. Georgia – get out the vote and send Karen Handel to fight for us in the U.S. Senate. From an article by Tony Lee at Breitbart.com:

GA: Karen Handel Surges to Virtual Tie for First After Palin Endorsement

1 May 2014 post a comment

Former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel has surged into a virtual tie for first in the GOP Senate primary a month after receiving the endorsement of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who seems to have helped her gain support from suburban women.

According to the Augusta Chronicle, a new Insider Advantage poll shows establishment candidate David Perdue with 22%; Handel with 21%; Rep. Jack Kingston with 17%; Rep. Paul Broun with 14%; Rep. Phil Gingrey with 12%; and 11% are undecided before the May 20 primary. The poll was conducted April 27-29, and the margin of error is +/- 3.5 percentage points.

Insider Advantage’s Matt Towery said “Kingston has been losing metro-Atlanta female support with his ‘folksy’ TV ads for weeks” and Handel has been “picking up significant female support and is starting to leave both David Perdue and Jack Kingston substantially behind with women.”

He also said the “other candidates show little if any movement” and “if Handel were to spend any degree of significant money on broadcast TV ads in the final two weeks, her momentum could take her to first place, leaving Perdue and Kingston battling for a spot in the runoff.”

Perdue has been under fire after he mocked Handel and said she was not qualified to serve in Congress because she lacked a college degree, even though only 27.8 percent of Georgians over 25 have college degrees. The vast majority of Georgians, including Georgia’s Lieutenant Governor and Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, have just high school diplomas like Handel.

Perdue apologized a week after the Atlanta Journal-Constitution released a video of his remarks, but Georgia state Senator Josh McKoon was not buying the “apology,” saying it reeked of “political expediency.”

[…]

Palin endorsed Handel on March 27, emphasizing Handel’s pro-life credentials and proven history of cutting spending. She campaigned for Handel on April 2 and slammed Perdue for denigrating Handel and Georgians who did not have fancy college degrees. In Handel’s case, she left an abusive home to go into the workforce and become a self-made woman. Democrat Michelle Nunn, who many believe is a test-case for how a female Democrat can do in Georgia ahead of a potential Hillary Clinton presidential run, has been raising an impressive amount of money, and Palin said Handel was not only the best candidate to win in the general election but to also shield Georgia Republicans from the phony “war on women” attacks from Democrats.

Handel’s campaign manager Corry Bliss told Breitbart News then that “Perdue’s demeaning comments play right into Michelle Nunn and the Democrats’ favorite subjects: the War on Women and income inequality.”

As Breitbart News reported, the Cook Political Report moved the Georgia Senate race to a toss-up from “lean Republican” after “candidates like Rep. Jack Kingston said that poor students should sweep cafeteria floors to get their lunches and another candidate, Rep. Phil Gingrey, defended Todd Akin’s infamous ‘legitimate rape’ comments from 2012.”

Two polls were taken in the weeks before Palin endorsed Handel. In one poll conducted for Channel 2 Action News, Perdue had 21% while Handel had 10%. In a SurveyUSA Poll, Perdue led with 29% while Handel had 10% in that poll as well.

Since Palin’s endorsement, Handel was within the margin of error for second in an Insider Advantage Poll taken two weeks ago, gained a net of eight points in another Survey USA poll, and is essentially tied for first in the most recent Insider Advantage poll.

Handel campaign’s first radio ad only featured Palin. And her first television ad prominently featured Palin as well. And Insider Advantage’s Matt Towery suggested those ads were the only ones that were working, as other candidates have been stuck in place in the polls or losing momentum.

“Perdue’s ads have grown stale and are yielding little new support and Kingston’s ads are actually continuing to damage him in the important demographics of women and independents,” Towery said.

Handel’s campaign told the Chronicle that Handel’s momentum has come from Palin’s endorsement in addition to Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer’s. Brewer endorsed Handel and assured Georgians she was the choice for conservatives and those who are pro-enforcement on immigration issues.

“This is the third poll in a row showing Karen as the only candidate with momentum,” Handel’s campaign manager Corry Bliss said.

Gov. Palin endorses Taylor Griffin from North Carolina – primary is May 16th

Sarah Palin Endorses Taylor Griffin for Congress

“I consider Governor Palin to be the epitome of a principled conservative and her endorsement reinforces my message that I will give Eastern North Carolina the conservative representation we deserve.”

Taylor Griffin – Republican Candidate for Congress

Taylor Griffin’s congressional campaign got a big endorsement today from an old friend. Former Alaska Governor and Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin and her husband Todd Palin endorsed Griffin’s run for the Republican nomination in North Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District. Griffin worked with Gov. Palin and Todd in 2008 during Palin’s Vice Presidential campaign.

“I am incredibly honored to receive the endorsement of Governor Sarah and Todd Palin. I consider Governor Palin to be the epitome of a principled conservative and her endorsement reinforces my message that I will give Eastern North Carolina the conservative representation we deserve.” Griffin said after receiving the news of the endorsement.
Griffin also added the endorsement carries with it a great responsibility.

“When a local veteran or commercial fisherman tell me I have their support, I feel the responsibility to represent them in a manner fitting their trust. I feel the same way about the endorsement of Governor Palin and Todd I can assure them and the people of Eastern North Carolina that my conservative principles will not waiver after I get to Washington.”

Griffin wrote Governor Palin and Todd requesting their support for his candidacy:
“I chose to launch my campaign last year because in my time in politics and government I have watched our country, and at times my own party, veer so far off course from the fundamental constitutional values and free market ideals that made our country great. My time working with you and your family in Alaska was one of the most important experiences of my life. Like Alaskans, Eastern North Carolinians believe that the solution to our nations problems lie in its people rather than in ever expanding edicts from Washington.”

Palin responded yesterday with the following note:
“Taylor – Thank you for your note and for putting your name on the line to help restore our country. Todd and I are happy to honor your request and support your candidacy. In Washington, we need you to stay true to your beliefs of smaller government, protecting life and furthering conservative principles. America needs fighters in Congress – go to DC remembering the good patriots of Eastern North Carolina who put their trust in you to fight for them. You have our support – we have directed SarahPAC to make a financial contribution to your campaign today. Thank you for your patriotism and commitment to our cause! – Sarah Palin”
