PETE RICKETTS FOR GOVERNOR OF NEBRASKA! NEVER FEAR SUCCESS!
I was honored to make a special trip to the Cornhusker State today to join fellow former governor Kay Orr in endorsing Pete Ricketts for governor of Nebraska. While Pete’s opponents in this race have made a career for themselves as politicians, bureaucrats, or lobbyists, Pete spent his career in the private sector helping grow his family’s successful business from the bottom up. I believe in teaching kids to never fear success and in fact to look to those who’ve ethically earned their success and emulate their work ethic! This is how we grow business, recover industry, hire Americans, and save our economy, and Pete proves this. The alternative is woeful dependency on an inevitable sinking ship I call “Liberal Lunacy.” Pete and his Nebraska family are an inspiring American success story, and now Pete is dedicated to making sure America’s promise is there for future generations to succeed and prosper.
Like so many other commonsense conservatives, in the last eight years Pete has focused his energy and resources into furthering the conservative cause in Nebraska because he knows that in critical times like this we need fearless patriots willing to lead. At a time when too many candidates are opportunistic and unprincipled, Pete Ricketts stands apart because he is running for the right reasons – to lead his state with a servant’s heart and a firm reliance on the time-tested truths that have made this country great.
One of Pete’s opponents is now recycling old discredited attacks hatched up by the Democrats. Don’t be fooled by the mudslinging coming from a candidate eager to distract voters away from his own dodgy record. Pete’s position is clear: he opposes amnesty and taxpayer funded benefits for illegal immigrants in any form and always has.
Pete has the business acumen, the moral integrity, and the conservative common sense to lead Nebraska into a prosperous future. He will join the other great conservative governors we’ve endorsed who are showing Washington, D.C. how to balance a budget, reform entitlements, save for the future, develop our resources, and grow jobs.
Pete Ricketts is the clear principled commonsense conservative choice in this race, and I hope you’ll join me in lending him your support!

On Saturday, she followed up with this post:
It was great to be in Grand Island, Nebraska, yesterday to support the bold conservative running for governor, Pete Ricketts!
It was a special honor to stand next to the legendary Kay Orr, the first Republican woman ever elected governor and a staunch ally of Ronald Reagan, who at his last state dinner sat Margaret Thatcher on his right and Kay Orr on his left. Thank you, Kay, for being a trailblazing governor and for supporting great Nebraska conservatives like Deb Fischer, Ben Sasse, and Pete Ricketts.
I’d also like to send a special thanks to Mary Hilton and her seven beautiful children who came all the way from Lincoln to attend yesterday’s event. You are the one who is bold, Mary! Your family is beautiful and was so patient to make the long trip! If they’d have let me, I would have spent all day getting to know you and your great family! Thank you for coming and for supporting Pete!

Sarah Palin carries a lot of weight in politics. When she speaks, people listen. We talked with one woman who has been waiting for this moment for years.
“The American dream is being lived out here in Nebraska,” former Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin said at the Heartland Event Center in Grand Island this morning.
Sarah Palin is the face for Republicans. And, the voice for women across the country.
On this day in a room filled with politicians and farmers, one mother from Lincoln was listening closely.
“I love her,” said Mary Hilton of Lincoln. “I love the stand she takes. I love her boldness.”
Mary Hilton wouldn’t miss the chance to see her role model up close as Palin endorsed Nebraska gubernatorial candidate, Pete Ricketts.
She loaded her seven kids in the car and headed down I-80 to give her children the experience of a lifetime.
“She has this incredible fan base of people who is willing to stand behind her beliefs,” Hilton said.
Beliefs that Nebraskans and Alaskans see eye-to-eye on.
“We are a home-steading state,” Hilton added. “We have the same principles. We have the same kind of people. We choose to live in Nebraska.”
Even before Palin’s arrival, Hilton was throwing her support behind Pete Ricketts for Governor. Now, the former Vice Presidential Candidate’s endorsement solidified her vote.
