Eddie Hyatt: Sarah Palin and the Hypocrisy of Secular Feminism

Posted by Dr. Fay on December 3, 2013

From the article by Eddie Hyatt at CharismaNews:

Sarah Palin and the Hypocrisy of Secular Feminism

Sarah Palin

When Sarah Palin was vilely and viciously attacked by MSNBC host Martin Bashir, the secular feminists were eerily silent, affirming once again that their political and social agendas trump any concern they may have for women.

If they were really for women per se, they would have been the first to come to the defense of Palin, who has achieved the sort of success that organizations like NOW (National Organization for Women) claim to advocate for women. She has served successfully as mayor of a city and governor of a state. She and her husband partner together in running a successful business and she was chosen as the Republican vice presidential candidate for the 2008 presidential elections.

This being the case, shouldn’t the feminists be celebrating Sarah Palin? Why are they so glum about Palin? The obvious answer is that Palin does not fit into their secular, socialist, non-Christian worldview. She marches to the beat of a different drummer. She is a committed follower of Jesus Christ and she is prolife. She believes marriage is between one woman and one man and she advocates for personal responsibility and smaller government. All these things are anathema to the secular feminists and they have gone out of their way, not only to be silent when Palin is attacked, but to verbally attack Palin themselves.

The well-known feminist, Gloria Steinman, for example, accused Palin, and women like her, of “selling out” the women’s movement. This statement, however, shows the smallness of Steinman’s thinking in that she would narrowly define the “women’s movement” in terms of her own organization and others like it. Much to her chagrin, there is a women’s movement taking place outside of NOW that Steinman and those like her would prefer to ignore.

In the political arena it is happening with devout Christian women like Palin, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, Governor Mary Fallin of Oklahoma, Governor Nikki Haley of South Carolina and a host of others. That these women are either ignored or opposed by the secular feminists is why the NOW should change its name to reflect who they really are. A more honest name and reflective of reality would be something like “The National Organization for Socialist, Secularist Women.”

This new women’s movement that the secular feminists so disdain is centered in Jesus Christ and His redemptive work. The women of this new movement are discovering that Jesus Christ is, in fact, the great Emancipator of women through His life, death and resurrection. They are discovering that Jesus treated women with dignity and respect and welcomed them as His disciples.

Well, talk about confirming our worst suspicions: Bashir is one sick puppy, foul-mouthed and toilet-obsessed. As some shrinks would call it, “anal retentive” or “anal obsessive.” Some naughty/sick little boys never get over the bodily function that eliminates waste… For them, the waste only backs up and poisons both their systems (like the gila monster) and their depraved minds.

Wonderful and inspiring essay on the God-centered life of the modern Christian woman! Looking at (and listening to) that old hag Steinem is such a downer compared to the upbeat and enthusiastic strength and leadership of our contemporary women political leaders who happen to be pro-life and proud of their religion. Of course, Sarah Palin has the drawing and staying power she has because of her faith and inner strength.

I am so proud of you and taking the unapologetic Christian stance. I am convinced that the socialistic women’s movement is quite small; all REAL WOMEN of different diversities do not support their views; they wish to protect the sanctity of life. If women are given three options (raising the child alone [because the majority of men shriek their responsibility], adoption, or abortion) the vote is for life. I cannot imagine the guilt-ridden feeling of ending a pregnancy…and you know what…it never goes away. Every one is born with a conscience; the bad decisions we make compound matters, but the truth is everyone will stand accountable to God one day…may God have mercy on socialistic women.
