Gov. Palin: God bless Americans past and present who wear the uniform

Posted by Dr. Fay on July 28, 2013

Posted on Governor Palin’s Facebook page today:

Medal of Honor recipient Col. George “Bud” Day passed away yesterday. I had the honor of meeting Col. Day during the 2008 campaign, and he joined me at a rally in Sioux City, Iowa. He was a great American whose dedication and service to our country in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam will never be forgotten – especially the courage he showed as a POW in Vietnam with his cellmate John McCain. This weekend also marks the 60th anniversary of the end of the Korean War. May we never forget the sacrifices made by brave Americans like Col. Day and all the veterans of our wars. And may we also never forget the men and women in uniform who are currently in harm’s way protecting our freedoms. There are still fresh deployments to war zones everyday though we seldom read about them in the papers any more. God bless these Americans – past and present – who wear the uniform and serve something greater than self.
