Gov. Palin tweets link to Newsbusters’ transcript of Jay Leno’s ‘Snoop Obama’ monologue

Posted by Dr. Fay on June 8, 2013

Governor Palin tweeted this tonight:

Excerpt from the Jay Leno transcript posted at Newsbusters:

JAY LENO: Well, let’s see what’s going on. Hey, Snoop is back in the news.  Not Snoop Dogg, Snoop Obama. Yeah, Snoop Obama. A big change at the White House  today. They closed the gift shop and opened a Verizon store. Yeah.

Well, this has become a huge controversy after it was revealed that the  National Security Agency seized millions of Verizon phone records, and of course  this has caused a panic among civil libertarians, constitutional scholars and  cheating husbands everywhere. Oh my God.

How  ironic is that? We wanted a president that listens to all Americans – now we  have one. Yeah.

Actually, President Obama clarified the situation today. He said no one is  listening to your phone calls. The president said it’s not what the program is  all about. You know, like the IRS isn’t about targeting certain political  groups. That’s not what it’s about!

I mean what’s going on? The White House has looked into our phone records,  checking our computers, monitoring our e-mails. When did the government suddenly  become our psycho ex-girlfriend? When did that happen? When did that happen?  When did that happen?

You know, I’ll tell you, if Obama wants to put this snooping thing to good  use, how about spying on the IRS next time they throw a $4 million party. Why  don’t you do that one? Yes, exactly, exactly. Find out about that. Yeah.

Hilarious.  Watch the video and read the rest here.

Gov. Palin: Post a pic holding a liberty-loving book!

Whether you agree or disagree with this soldier’s opinions, I think we can all agree that the apparent retribution he faced for proudly reading certain authors is outrageous.
—————–
I’d love to see more of America’s finest, our men and women in uniform, along with everybody else proudly and boldly reading more writings from patriots who pinpoint who is trying to kill our Constitution. Americans obviously need to know why it’s imperative we don’t roll over and succumb to these attempts to fundamentally transform America into a populace of sheep merely grazing, and then atrophying, under tyranny. This IS a battle between liberty and tyranny, as the title of Mark Levin’s book declares. The authors and commentators mentioned in the article linked below will help more of our loved ones understand this by articulately explaining what the radical Left’s leadership is doing to our country.
———————
Yes, if more citizens would hear and read Rush, The Great One, et al., the empowerment of the average person would provide the energy and encouragement to take a stand and proclaim, “No more!” It’s time. Troops – especially you – have fought for the freedoms enshrined in our Constitution. Your brothers and sisters have died in this battle to defend liberty. Please know that a grateful nation won’t let your sacrifices be in vain. We have your back.
——————
I’d love to see pictures of our troops reading any of these apparently “banned” pro-America books. Don’t show your face or name in the photo, perhaps just your liberty-loving hands around a liberty-loving book or hands on a radio dial tuning in to hear the aforementioned conservative leaders speak truth. What is the use in fighting and dying for freedom in far away countries if they take away freedom at home? Post a pic.

She next posted this comment and photo:

Invitation for Americans to roguely illustrate their stand in today’s ‘Liberty vs Tyranny’ war. Post a pic.

And then this photo and comment:

Show your support for liberty. Post a pic holding a liberty-loving book!

Conservative Christian Soldier Told Not to Read Levin or Hannity in Uniform

Todd Starnes | Jun 07, 2013

Todd Starnes

A veteran member of the U.S. Army Band said he is facing retribution and punishment from the military for having anti-Obama bumper stickers on his car, reading books written by conservative authors like Mark Levin and David Limbaugh, and serving Chick-fil-A sandwiches at his promotion party.

Master Sgt. Nathan Sommers, a 25-year Army veteran and conservative Christian based at Fort Myer in Washington, believes his outspoken opposition to gay marriage prompted higher-ups to take a closer look at his beliefs. The recipient of an Army Commendation Medal and a soloist at the funeral of former First Lady Betty Ford, Sommers said his core beliefs are enough to mark a soldier for persecution in today’s military.

“It seems like with the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell – that the Christians have been the ones who’ve had to go underground and in the closet – for fear of retaliation and reprisals,” Sommers told me.

“Christians feel like they can’t be forthright with their faith. They have to hide.”

Ret. Navy Commander John Bennett Wells is representing the master sergeant. He said there is no doubt in his mind that the U.S. military is discriminating against Christians – and specifically his client.

“There’s no question about it,“ Wells tells me. “Because he is religious, because he feels that homosexual conduct is wrong for religious reasons, he is basically being persecuted.”

Lt. Col. Justin Platt, an Army spokesman at the Pentagon released a statement to Fox News noting that the military branch cannot comment on ongoing investigations or administrative actions.

“With respect to the political activities, soldiers are expected to carry out their obligations as citizens in accordance with applicable regulations,” Platt said.

Army documents I’ve obtained indicate Sommers was told that his actions bordered on being disrespectful to President Obama and the “slightest inference of disrespect towards superiors can have a demoralizing effect on the unit.”

“You should strive to express your opinion while being aware of the overall ramifications of your statements,” the Army noted.

Sommers’ troubles began last April when he was told to remove pro-Republican, anti-Obama bumper stickers that were on his privately owned car.

The stickers read: “Political Dissent is NOT Racism,” “NOBAMA,” NOPE2012” and “The Road to Bankruptcy is Paved with A**-Fault.”

His superior officer told the solider that the bumper stickers were creating “unnecessary workplace tension.”

“The types of stickers on your car were creating an atmosphere detrimental to morale and were creating unnecessary workplace tension,” the officer wrote in an Army document obtained by Fox News. “A Soldier must balance their personal feelings with the mission of the U.S. Army. Even the slightest inference of disrespect towards superiors can have a demoralizing effect on the unit.”

Attorney Wells said once he got involved, the military backed off of filing a formal reprimand.

“He’s allowed to have those bumper stickers on his car,” he said. “The DoD regulation allows it. There was nothing obscene about it.”

During the summer months, Sommers came under fire for reading the works of Mark Levin, Sean Hannity and David Limbaugh.

Sommers was reading Limbaugh’s “The Great Destroyer” backstage at a U.S. Army Band concert at the U.S. Capitol. A superior officer told him that he was causing “unit disruption” and was offending other soldiers.

“I wasn’t reading aloud,” he said. “I was just reading privately to myself. I was told they were frowning on that and they warned me that I should not be reading literature like that backstage because it was offensive.”

In another episode, he had been caught backstage reading a copy of Levin’s “The Making of Ameritopia.”

Sommers said he was told to refrain from reading the book “while in uniform or within sight of anyone from the band.”

“This is the first time since (my superior officer) indicated I had offended others with my choice of reading material, that I was officially counseled about it,” he said. “The statement took my breath away. I was speechless.”

In spite of those incidents, the Army promoted the soldier in September to the rank of master sergeant. But the promotion would also mark the launch of an effort by the military to punish the soldier.

Rush Limbaugh: Death panels. Just exactly what Sarah Palin said.

Posted by Dr. Fay on June 6, 2013

On Tuesday, Governor Palin drew attention to the plight of this 10-year-old girl on her Facebook page:

Sarah Palin · 3,551,918 like this

Tuesday at 7:25pm ·
———————
The government will bend the rules left and right to harass targeted taxpayers, conservative patriots, selected journalists, etc., but it will strictly exercise inconsistent and subjective rules to deny a child a shot at life. And they called us liars when we spoke of “death panels” – faceless bureaucrats coming between you and your doctor to make life and death decisions about a loved one’s survival. It doesn’t sound so far fetched anymore, does it?

– Sarah Palin

Sebelius won’t intervene in girl’s transplant case
news.yahoo.com

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The U.S. health secretary said she won’t intervene in an “incredibly agonizing” transplant decision about a dying Pennsylvania girl, noting that three other children in the same hospital are just as sick.

Yesterday, Rush Limbaugh also called Sebelius out (h/tp Gary Jackson).

Death Panel: Secretary Sebelius Denies Lung Transplant for 10-Year-Old Girl

June 05, 2013

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT
——————-

RUSH: Kathleen Sebelius, have you heard about this?  There’s a little girl in Pennsylvania who is being denied a lung transplant because she’s 10 years old.
—————-
I lit a cigar in honor of Sarah Palin right as the program began.  Death panels.  Just exactly what Sarah Palin said, exactly what we all knew. Obamacare establishes death panels, and right now Sebelius is it.  And that’s what Obamacare says.  I don’t know how many times it says it in there, but the phrase “as the secretary shall determine,” meaning the secretary of Health and Human Services.  Well, Sebelius is determined a 10-year-old doesn’t get the lung.  She doesn’t get a lung transplant ’cause she is 10 years old, and you have to be 12 to get a lung transplant under the current regulations.

Her congressman has begged Sebelius to waive the regulation, but she has refused.  The congressman’s a Republican.  Of course Sebelius would refuse.  But I remember how people laughed.  I remember how the media said, “Ah, you Republicans, ah, you conservatives, you’re just over the top.  There aren’t any death panels.  What are you talking about?”  Look, I’m not even gonna sit here and say that Sebelius is wrong not to not intervene, but they’re death panels.  The government’s making the decision who lives and dies.  That’s what Obamacare is.  Little think piece, just a little bit.  A proposition to the low-information voters.

[…]

CALLER:  This morning I’m listening to CBS News, and I think I did a double-take when I heard a story about Kathleen Sebelius saying no to that kid, and I thought, holy cow, is that a shot across the bow to the public or what?  Then I hear a story about Mrs. Obama heckled at a private fundraiser, and they ran audio of that, and I’m thinking, okay, what’s going on here, you know?

RUSH:  Well, as far as Sebelius, the value there is that yes, Virginia, there are death panels, and she’s it.

Thankfully, a federal judge stepped in after the child’s parents filed a lawsuit.  Tony Lee at Big Government reports:

A federal judge ordered Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to suspend the so-called “Under-12” rule and allow 10-year-old Sarah Murnaghan onto an adult transplant list in a Wednesday ruling.

U.S. District Court Judge Michael Baylson made the ruling a day after Sebelius refused to intervene in the case, saying transplant decisions should be left to “experts.” He directed Sebelius to order the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) to let Murnaghan, who is dying of cystic fibrosis and needs a lung transplant, on the adult list for “at least nine days” until a June 14 hearing. The decision only applies to Murnaghan and not to other children who may be similarly situated.

According to NBC News, Murnaghan’s parents sued Sebelius on Wednesday to prevent her from enforcing the “Under-12” rule, alleging it “unfairly penalizes their daughter, Sarah Murnaghan, and other young children awaiting transplants.”

It remains to be seen whether Sebelius will try to impose her will at the hearing.  Let us pray that she does not.

Gov. Palin: Obama’s Rice and Power Appointments Today Are Evidence of His Skewed Thinking and Unchecked Power

Posted by Dr. Fay on June 6, 2013

Barack Obama continues to thumb his nose at the American people even as multiple scandals in his corrupt administration are exposed.  And Governor Sarah Palin calls him out every step of the way.  Today is no exception.

Posted on her Facebook page today:

___________________
We’re in for a helluva’ ride, America. Obama just named Susan Rice as his National Security Adviser and nominated Samantha Power to replace Rice as our U.N. ambassador. Samantha Power is married to Cass Sunstein, the very, very strange Obama pick for an early “czar” position who wowed us with his numerous bizarre claims including the wacko belief that animals should have the right to sue in court, that hunting should be banned as genocide, and that pet ownership is akin to “slavery.” But Mrs. Cass Sunstein’s character judgment in choosing her life partner is the least of America’s worries. Information about Obama’s new picks will be revealed in coming days. Pay attention to who they are; what they stand for; and what their records, associations, and statements reveal about them and their intentions. Especially consider Obama’s chosen ones as evidence of his skewed thinking as he “fundamentally transforms” our great nation.

——————-

Here’s just a taste, as summarized by The Daily Caller:

—————-

“In 2002, President Barack Obama’s new nominee to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power, proposed imposing a peace deal on Israelis and Palestinians militarily, even if such a policy alienated wealthy pro-Israel American Jews. ‘I actually think in the Palestine-Israeli situation there is an abundance of information, and what we don’t need is some kind of early warning mechanism there,’ Power said in an interview. ‘What we need is a willingness to actually put something on the line in sort of helping the situation. And putting something on the line might mean alienating a domestic constituency of tremendous political and financial import,’ she added laughing, clearly referring to American Jews and suggesting they were a great obstacle to moving toward peace between Israelis and Palestinians.”

——————-

“Isn’t that lovely. Not only is she condescending toward American Jews, but her analysis also happens to be utterly wrong. The failure to achieve peace in the Middle East is not because wealthy American Jews have somehow manipulated America’s leaders into thwarting peace, but rather because Palestinian leaders have consistently rejected generous Israeli peace offers for a state of their own. In fact, the wealthy American Jews that Power haughtily dismisses in the interview as obstacles to peace are very often staunch advocates of a two state solution. On another note, Power also once compared actions abroad to those of Nazi Germany. As the Washington Examiner’s Philip Klein wryly noted on Twitter, ‘Samantha Power is the UN Ambassador, who is supposed to represent US interests at the UN?'”

And these articles by TheBlaze, Breitbart.com, and Townhall should help wake up Obama supporters who naively and blindly (despite failure after failure and scandal after scandal) continue to give him the benefit of the doubt:

__________

Nah, America… I shouldn’t have prefaced this post with a warning to hang on because “we’re in for a helluva’ ride.” Sorry. That was crass and inaccurate. I should have just said about Obama’s judgment and unchecked power, “America, we are so screwed.”

D-Day: The Cost of Freedom

Posted by Dr. Fay on June 6, 2013

Visitors walk among the 9,387 graves at the Colleville American Military Cemetery on the 69th anniversary of the 1944 D-Day invasion on June 6 in Colleville sur Mer, France. Several hundred veterans of the 1944 D-Day landings in Normandy gathered to commemorate the invasion of Nazi-occupied Europe during World War II.

Over 9000 graves in France attest to the cost of freedom   Veterans of the Normandy Invasion gathered at the American Colleville Miltary Cemetery and other sites across the Normandy Beaches to remember their fallen comrades at arms on the 69th anniversary of the victory that started the march to free Europe from the Nazi invaders.

Salute: U.S. veterans stand to attention during the national anthems at a ceremony held at the Memorial of the Colleville American military cemetery

From a report at Military.com:

Hundreds of military veterans gathered on the beaches of Normandy for the 69th anniversary of D-Day, the Allied invasion that led to the end of World War II.

A series of events were planned at cemeteries and villages liberated after 150,000 soldiers waded ashore June 6, 1944, the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported Thursday. [ed. See that report here.]

About 2,500 soldiers died during the landing.

Among those observing the commemoration are 264 veterans who fought in the Normandy campaign. Their trips were paid for by the “Heroes Return” program financed by Britain’s Big Lottery Fund.

Veterans from the eastern English counties of Norfolk and Suffolk brought with them the remains of Ernest Mears, who dug trenches at the landing sites and built shelters while under fire.

Mears, who was with the Pioneer Corps, is to be interred at a Commonwealth War Grave cemetery near where he landed.

Jack Woods, who served with the 9th Battalion Royal Tank Regiment — and who accompanied Mears’ ashes to France — said Mears was typical of the men who went to war “simply to do their duty.”

Woods hoped to re-inter his fellow vet next year at Bayeux Cathedral during the 70th anniversary of D-Day.

CNN reports that the number of World War II veterans is dwindling:

There are still more than 1.7 million Americans alive who served in World War II, but that number is dwindling fast.

With much of the “Greatest Generation” now in their 80s and 90s, hundreds of these veterans are dying every day, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

By the year 2036, the VA estimates, there will no longer be any living veterans from the conflict.

The last World War I veteran, Frank Buckles, died in February 2011.

FRANCE-US-HISTORY-WWII-COMMEMORATION

The Associated Press reports that about 2 dozen American veterans gathered at the Omaha Beach memorial. It is not clear why their report does not mention the hundreds of veterans that, according to Canadian and British newspapers, paid their respects across Normandy.

Veterans of the 1944 Normandy landings gathered Thursday at the site of history’s largest amphibious invasion for ceremonies marking D-day’s 69th anniversary.

Around two dozen U.S. vets, some in their old uniforms pinned with medals, stood and saluted during a wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial overlooking Omaha Beach, where a cemetery holds the remains of over 9,000 Americans who died during the vicious battle to storm the French beach under withering Nazi fire.

[…]

Tourists, many from the U.S. and Britain, gathered under a brilliant spring sky to witness the flag-raising amid the neat rows of thousands of white marble crosses and stars of David marking the graves of U.S. servicemen and women fallen in the Allied invasion of Normandy.

On June 6, 1944, Allied forces led by Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower stormed the beaches of Normandy to begin the liberation of German-occupied Western Europe during World War II.

A full day of ceremonies — including fireworks, concerts and marches — was taking place across Normandy in honor of the more than 150,000 troops, mainly U.S., British and Canadian, who risked or gave their lives in the invasion.

“The tide has turned. The free men of the world are marching together to victory!” Eisenhower said in a historic address after the invasion was launched.

This excellent documentary was done as a high school class project.  Notice the archival footage at 31-33 seconds of the soldiers praying before battle.

Palin: Prayers for Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler

Posted by Jackie Siciliano on June 4, 2013

Governor Sarah Palin has shared this message and story on her Facebook page.  As a mother that understands receiving unexpected news during a pregnancy, Palin offered these words of comfort:

Our prayers are with Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler and her family.

Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA) is pregnant with her first child and it’s been discovered that the baby has Potter’s Syndrome.  You can read more at Life News.

As a mother I find this story simply heart-breaking.  I will join Governor Palin in praying for this family and their unborn child.
