What are we succumbing to, America? The army orders “the removal of Christian symbols from a chapel.” I wonder what they’ll make of my son and all the other soldiers with their numerous Christian symbols tattooed on their warrior bodies? What say you, politicians, about America’s finest protecting us in these war zones who will NOT be “removing their Steeples, Crosses, Bible Verses, etc.” to adhere to this new nonsensical political correctness?

By Todd Starnes The U.S. military reportedly ordered soldiers to remove a cross and a steeple from atop a chapel and to board up cross-shaped windows at a remote American forward operating base in Afghanistan. FOLLOW TODD ON FACEBOOK FOR CULTURE WAR NEWS. CLICK HERE TO JOIN! The rem

Three cheers for Owen Groesser, an eighth grader with Down Syndrome who became an overnight social media star after he sunk two 3-pointers for his junior high basketball team in Rochester, Michigan. Thanks to his social media fans using the hashtag #GetOwenOnSportsCenter, he made it on ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays.

This is such a beautiful reminder of what gifts from God these children really are. Too often they’re not given a chance because of fear — fear of the unknown, as any shocked parent feels–myself included–when hearing the diagnosis. But giving life a chance in these perceived less than ideal circumstances can turn out to be the greatest gift and blessing any family may ever know. Just give life a chance and see how beautiful it is. Today’s world needs more of this!

Governor Palin to keynote Award Gala at annual remembrance day for Terri Schiavo

Posted by Dr. Fay on January 24, 2013

I was living in Florida at the time of Terri Schiavo’s death and remember well the horror and the heartbreak surrounding the murder by starvation and dehydration of this one so beloved by her family.  Pro-lifers fought for her survival, but in the end, her adulterous husband, who stood to benefit financially from her death, won in court.  Governor Jeb Bush was sympathetic to Terri’s cause, but he did not do enough.

Terri’s family has made it their life’s work to advocate on behalf of those whose lives are at risk in similar circumstances.  They established the Terri Schiavo Foundation, which is now known as the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network.

Governor Palin, well known for her pro-life views, will be the keynote speaker at the  Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network’s first annual Award Gala that will follow  “The National Memorial Mass for Terri’s Day,” at which Archbishop Charles Chaput from Philadelphia will officiate..

Here is the announcement from the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network website:.

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 23, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ — The Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network is delighted to announce that Archbishop Charles Chaput, Archbishop of the Diocese of Philadelphia, will celebrate “The National Memorial Mass for Terri’s Day.”

In addition, Governor Sarah Palin will be the honored speaker at the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network’s Award Gala following Terri’s Memorial Mass.

The International Day of Prayer and Remembrance for Terri Schindler Schiavo, and All of Our Vulnerable Brothers and Sisters (“Terri’s Day”) was established in 2007 and is observed each year on or around March 31st, the date of Terri’s death.

The purpose of this day is to foster education, prayer, and activism regarding discrimination against the cognitively disabled, and advocacy for people in situations similar to what Terri and her family faced.

“We are delighted to have His Excellency, Archbishop Chaput, as the main celebrant for Terri’s Memorial Mass and Governor Palin as the keynote speaker at our first Award Gala. Our intention is to raise the needed awareness of this widely misunderstood issue so that the general public recognizes how our medically vulnerable remain in the cross-hairs of an anti-life mentality growing in our nation,” noted Bobby Schindler, Terri’s brother and Executive Director of the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network.

All are invited and encouraged to attend “The National Memorial Mass for Terri’s Day.” Because Easter falls on March 31st, this year’s Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 5th, 2013 at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul located at 18th Street & Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia.

The Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network’s Award Gala with Governor Sarah Palin will be held in the evening at the downtown Philadelphia Marriott. The first “Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Award” will be presented to an individual/family who fought to protect the dignity of a loved one.
