Sarah Palin Talks to Kelly, Cavuto, and Hannity on Day 3 of the GOP Convention (Videos)

Posted by Dr. Fay on August 31, 2012

After inexplicably being frozen out of FOX News commentary on Day 2 of the RNC, Governor Palin talked yesterday on Day 3 of the convention to Megyn Kelly, Neil Cavuto, and Sean Hannity about the RNC and the 2012 election.

Governor Palin discussed what lies ahead for the Romney/Ryan team in a telephone interview with Megyn Kelly.  She said that “things got ugly 4 years ago because Obama’s lapdogs in the liberal media will stop at nothing to see that their “chosen one” is elected.”  She said that Romney, having been on the campaign trail for 5 years,  is “loaded for bear” and ready for when the media try to warp his record and his reputation.  She said they must be prepared for unfair shots that will be taken but not be consumed by unfairness of leftist media. Governor Palin said that Romney/Ryan need a clear plan about how we are going to turn the country around to give people confidence that they will do a better job than Obama.   She said that we need to make people understand free markets were responsible for America’s prosperity.

In response to Megyn’s question about the Yahoo controversy, she said that the “Yahoo dude”who made “that horrible comment” also tried to change the context of her comments in her interview with Charlie Gibbs, and that she is glad that he “got canned.”

Asked for her opinion about Paul Ryan’s speech, Governor Palin said that he had some “big ideas” and that Biden would probably be “tempted to call in sick” on the night of the next VP debate.

Although it aired later in the day, Governor Palin’s interview with Neil Cavuto appeared to have been filmed earlier in the week at her second home in Arizona.  It is an excellent interview, with a number of nuggets.  Addressing the criticism that Ryan and Romney had supported TARP,  Governor Palin said, “Mea Culpa!  Say ‘sorry’, we shouldn’t have done that We have learned our lesson, we we will not repeat that”.  She also advised the use of the “A” word: austerity.  ‘  Asked about the potential for a future Presidential run, she said, “politics drives me crazy,”  but indicated her willingness to continue to help.

Speaking from the convention floor, Sean Hannity interviewed Governor Palin, who was speaking from her home studio in Alaska. Asked about Paul Ryan’s speech, Governor Palin said she was “very proud of Paul Ryan and pleased with the words he had to say. ”  She said she couldn’t wail 68 to 69 days from now until we get to “turn this car around” in the November election.  Asked about the economic collapse in 2008, she said that it was the most impacting aspect in that race, that after the economic collapse in September, it was  too late to turn around the media’s claim that it was all due to the Republicans’ fault.

Governor Palin described the 2008 Obama campaign as “this bogus hopey-changey stuff just built on this utopian idea in fantasy land.  She referred to Bill Clinton’s statement that the Obama campaign was the biggest fairytale he had ever seen.  She said that we now  have the opportunity to hire a new team of leaders to get us out of this mess.

Hannity asked Sarah what she thought of the campaign promise Romney would make in his speech that by 2020 North America would be energy-independent by using “all of the above”  energy sources, which would create a lot of jobs.   Governor Palin responded, “Of course we can do that….  Energy independence is absolutely possible.”   She said that it is unfortunate Obama “has decided to tap foreign sources instead of our own natural God-given sources of energy.”

Asked for her reaction to the general tone of the Obama campaign and whether she thought the negative attacks would backfire, she said that Democrats and media lapdogs will stop at nothing to get Obama re-elected.  Compared to the 2008 election, she siad that it could perhaps  get even worse during the time between now and the election.  Governor Palin  said that voters need to do their own homework because 90 % of the lapdog media are “in the tank for Ob ama,” and that what they relay is based on falsehoods.  She said that we need to trust the wisdom of the people, that they know what they got with Obama – insolvency.

Hannity asked whether she thought voters would decide on the economic issues and not the attack ads.  Governor Palin said that what it comes down to is  what will allow people to get back to work and  how we can reindustrialize this country and stop outsourcing our jobs.    She said that we do that by “not putting our faith in big centralized government  planners. ”  She said, “The  path to freedom and prosperity in America, it runs through free men and free markets, it doesn’t run  through government.”

Asked about the Dems’ charges of racism by Republicans was “reverse discrimination bogus stuff.” She said that they diminish the point they are trying to make by playing the race card.  She said that the  GOP is a big tent  and that  she cares about people’s  character and reputation, not the pigment of their skin.  Governor Palin advised to stop ” preaching to the choir” and to talk to Independents and Reagan Democrats,  who are people who want American exceptionalism to return.  She said that the planks in the GOP platform are the right ones to build that exceptionalism, prosperity, and security again.  She said that those planks are tried and tested, common sense,  and Economics 101.
