Palin Kneecaps the Democratic Party

Posted by Jackie Siciliano on August 17, 2012

Never one to mince words, Governor Sarah Palin spoke with Greta Van Susteren about Vice President Joe Biden’s “chains” remark  to which she replies “The strategists there in the Obama campaign have got to look at a diplomatic way of replacing Joe Biden on the ticket with Hillary.”

Replacing Biden on the ticket is not a new idea as is evidenced here, here, and here; however, if you take a look at Palin’s Facebook wall even supporters are critical of her comment and they are suggesting that Palin is giving the Democratic party good advice.  If you’ve lost track of Biden’s gaffes, here’s a good summary.

In discussing this with a friend, she referred to the comment as “Palin playing 3-D chess”. I agree and I truly believe that the “replace Biden” comment was a Palin strategy.  In case you had not noticed, she’s very politically savvy.  After all, would President Obama really want to accused of taking political advice from Sarah Palin?

Amphibious Assault: First Episode of ‘Stars Earn Stripes’

Posted by Dr. Fay on August 17, 2012

NBC has posted the video for the full first episode of ‘Starts Earn Stripes’ on the show’s official page.  You can watch it here:

Amphibious Assault: Full First Episode of ‘Stars Earn Stripes’

Bristol Palin wrote  about Episode 1 on her blog earlier this week:

Stars Earn Stripes: Go, Dad!

August 14, 2012 By  68 Comments

When I heard my dad was going to be on the cast of Stars Earn Stripes, I was excited that he was getting the chance to play for $100,000 for his charity, Armed Services YMCA Alaska.  Plus, I was happy for America to see him in action. After all, I’ve described him as a man who can rebuild a snow machine with one hand tied behind his back, a father who can wrestle with Trig on the floor, and an attentive dad who can braid Piper’s hair for basketball practice.  What can he not do?

So, did you see the show?! The celebrities were divided into squads and had to perform the same assault task, which included helicopters, guns, grenades, mud, and destroying weapons.  Dad was assigned a Marine, who’s now a New York City police officer!  Their squad got delayed when his celebrity team member struggled in the water, with his waterlogged gear. With one man down, Dad activated.

He shimmied through mud under barbed wire so fast that he had already finished the obstacle while the others were just beginning.

The other squads watched on a monitor from another location, amazed at his capability.

“He’s Rambo, he’s straight up Rambo,” said Chris Kyle. “Next time I’m in a war, I want Todd Palin on my side.”

Then, Chris added, “He was the first one on the boat, the first one under the wire, and about the time the rest of the guys were getting through, he already had the crate. You don’t need anyone else,” he said.  “Forget Chuck Norris, send in Todd Palin.”

Dad always directed attention to his charity and to cheer up other contestants who didn’t fare as well.

I know, I know.  The show wasn’t designed to introduce the world to Todd Palin. But it does seem designed to make viewers appreciate the United States military.  After all, the tasks the celebrities are engaging in are actually the types of operations soldiers perform every day.  In a touching moment, one of the celebrities asked her operative if he’d ever killed anyone.

He answered, “We really don’t talk about that kind of stuff.”

In fact, the show seemed to be a fun way to introduce the nation to soldiers whose missions have been anything but fun.

And I’m so glad that America got to see what I already know – my dad is the man!

We agree. Todd Palin’s strong performance made us all very proud.

Move America Forward: Support Martha Zoller Next Week in Runoff Election

Posted by Dr. Fay on August 17, 2012

New ad for Martha Zoller (runoff is August 21) from Move America Forward Freedom PAC (MAFPAC):

A poll released this week shows Tea Party favorite and MAFPAC candidate Martha Zoller in a tight race, but leading the establishment candidate by 4 points.  With the help of great Patriots like yourself and buoyed by endorsements from conservative heroes Sarah Palin, RIck Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Herman Cain, Zoller forced the runoff election, set for this coming Tuesday, to determine the Republican candidate and likely next representative in Congress from Georgia’s heavily conservative 9th district.

We only have until Tuesday, August 21st to help her get elected and fill another seat with a pro-Troop candidate we can count on!!

Martha Needs Your Help Now!!

“If you agree that it’s time our elected officials stopped talking at us and started listening to us, then I hope you will join me in supporting Martha Zoller for Congress from Georgia’s 9th Congressional District…Martha has been fighting for conservative causes for years as an award winning radio show host.

– Former Alaska Governor
Sarah Palin

The below article makes clear there is a difference in this race, even though both candidates are attempting to portray themselves as more conservative.  One candidate, Martha Zoller, is backed by modern conservative heroes and has the majority of military and Tea Party support, while her opponent polls over 50% of the “moderate” voters.
The choice is clear.

Ga Dist. 9: Zoller leads Collins according to recent poll

August 13, 2012
By: Ewa Kochanska

Latest poll in Georgia’s 9th Congressional District Republican State Primary runoff election puts radio talk show host Martha Zoller ahead of her challenger state Rep. Doug Collins by four percent.

The Wenzel Strategies survey found Zoller with 43% of the vote and Collins with 39%, a lead just above the margin of error…

According to the survey, Collins is favored by more moderate voters (54%-34%) and Zoller gets majority of TEA Party votes (48%-31%).

Examiner.Com – 8/13/12

It’s not every day you get to help one of your best friends get elected to the U.S. Congress, and we have known Martha very well over the years and we know she will never waver in her support for our military.

We know she stands up for the Troops and our military and we know she holds strong to her conservative values.  That is why we support her for Congress and that is why leaders such as Sarah Palin do as well.
Melanie Morgan, MAF’s chairman, along with Martha Zoller and a handpicked team of radio professionals from across the country, traveled to Baghdad, Iraq where they spent over a week interviewing troops at Camp Liberty to get the story straight from the source.

The Voices of Soldiers project earned awards from Associated Press for best special program and Martha Zoller shared in that.

She was so moved by her experiences in Iraq that year that the next year she went back again, this time to bring a grieving family to the place where their son gave his life for his country.

Martha has always been a stalwart supporter of our troops – that’s what we liked about her in the first place, and that’s why we brought her to Iraq in 2005. She’s always stood up for our military men and women, even when it was not the popular thing to do. Back in 2005 and 2006 when it seemed everyone was trashing the war, Martha stood by groups like Move America Forward in defending our troops and their missions overseas.

That’s why we’re proud and excited to ask for your help in supporting her campaign now.

At MAF we have long DREAMED of having more people like Martha Zoller in Congress. She’s exactly the kind of person we have always wanted to run for office, and she’s finally decided to do so. Please make a donation now and help our friend Martha Zoller.

John McCain: Sarah Palin has “a very strong, significant base” and “would have added a lot” to the 2012 race

Posted by Dr. Fay on August 17, 2012

Lisa Riley Roche at Deseret News  reports on an interview  with Senator John McCain yesterday  while the Senator was in Utah for a fundraiser for Congressional candidate Mia Love:

John McCain’s running mate in his 2008 presidential bid, Sarah Palin, “would have added a lot to the race” had she been a candidate for the White House this election, the senator said Thursday.

“How she would have done, I can’t say,” McCain told the Deseret News. “I know she has a very strong, significant base. That’s why all these candidates line up and ask for her endorsement.”

McCain’s pick of Palin, then a first-term Alaska governor, was seen as a “game changer” four years ago, just as presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney’s choice of Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan is now.

The Arizona senator, in Utah to attend a fundraiser and town hall meeting for 4th District congressional candidate Mia Love, said Ryan “is an excellent selection.”

Asked if putting a “game changer” in the No. 2 spot on the Republican presidential ticket would be a winner this time, McCain said his loss to President Barack Obama wasn’t Palin’s fault.

“I don’t think you can attribute our failure to Sarah Palin. She energized our party,” he said. “She beat (Vice President) Joe Biden in the debate and then, of course, the stock market crashed.”

McCain said the race was over when middle-class Americans saw their savings disappear overnight, not because of Palin, who ended up being widely seen as unprepared to be in a position where she could assume the presidency.

“I am convinced that Sarah Palin was a very strong attribute to our campaign, and I love her and admire her,” McCain said, adding he had no second thoughts about naming her over Romney and other possible running mates.
