Palin: Fundraiser in Missouri for Sarah Steelman

Posted by Jackie Siciliano on August 1, 2012

Sarah Palin is going to Missouri to help candidate for U.S. Senate Sarah Steelman. There was an announcement from Steelman’s on July 17th that she had received Palin’s endorsement and earlier this week I shared with you Palin’s TV advertisement promoting “Mama Grizzly” Steelman.

From Sarah Steelman’s website:

Steelman Surge BBQ and Picnic with Governor Sarah Palin

Governor Sarah Palin will be coming into the Show-Me State this Friday, August 3rd, to help Sarah Steelman finish the final days of the primary with a “Steelman Surge” BBQ and Picnic.

Steelman, who received the endorsement of Governor Palin on July 17th will show Governor Palin just how much the Show-Me state is ready to get rid of the status quo:

“I am so grateful to have Governor Palin’s support and very excited to say she will be coming into Missouri to participate in this BBQ. I know she will excite folks to come out and take a strong stand against the status quo. I thank Governor Palin for conservative leadership she always shows and I want to thank each and every individual for the help they have given to me over the course of this campaign,” said Steelman, “The Steelman Surge is underway and I invite everyone to attend this event and help to continue our tidal wave of momentum.”

The BBQ is set to start at 6:00 pm and will be held at The Berry Patch, a “you pick” blueberry farm just south of Kansas City. Steelman and Palin will be serving the food as a way of saying thank you for all the support and encouraging people to get out and vote. Accompanied with the food will be refreshments, live music and several other local candidates.

“This is a way of saying thank you for all the folks who have been supportive of me and also to remind them that this battle isn’t over, we have to buckle down for the finish,” Steelman concluded.

Event Details:

UPDATED! Massive Show of Support for Chick-fil-A Sets World Record for Company

Posted by Dr. Fay on August 1, 2012

This afternoon I drove to the nearest  Chick-fil-A to show my support on Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.   I had expected a good turnout but nothing like what I saw.  The place was packed, and cars were parked along the curbs and down into a lower lot.  There were two lanes – one going through the drive through and another that circled the building while you waited to get in line for the drive through.

I arrived at about 5:20 PM and drove out at about 6:45 PM.   That was something that I would never have done under ordinary circumstances.  But today was no ordinary day.  Today was a day that Americans stood up and stood with one of their own that was under attack for speaking out and speaking clearly about their values.

As I picked up my order, I asked the young man at the drive-through window if it had been like that all day.    He answered, “Since 6 o’clock this morning.”  And he said that it had been non-stop all day.  They had served so many customers they were worried about running out of food.

Everybody looked cheerful, and some stood in the light rain with umbrellas over their heads as they waited to get inside.  One guy gave me a thumbs up as he crossed in front of my vehicle to enter the restaurant.  It was clear that people had come with a purpose – to show their support.

It is days like these that make you proud to be an American.   The management of Chick-fil-A stood up for traditional values in the face of those who would accept no opinion but their own.  And conservative Americans – which actually represent the majority of Americans – stood with them.  It was a refreshing change from the shameless behaviors of the Occupy movement.

This is what it will take for us to take America back from those who would strip her from her moorings.  This is the type of unity that conservatives and people of faith must show as we prepare for the fight of our life in this upcoming election, the one Sarah Palin has called “the election of our lifetime.”

Speaking of Governor Palin, we know that she had Chick-fil-A in The Woodlands in Texas on Friday and in Paradise Valley in Arizona today.  From the photo is this local article, it looks like Palin-endorsed Martha Zoller stood with Chick-fil-A today also.

UPDATE:

Daniel Halpern at the Weekly Standard reports that Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy told Pastor Rick Warren in a phone call 7 hours before the last stores closed that Chick-fil-A had set a world record yesterday.  See a copy of Warren’s tweet here.

There were a lot of photos of the turnout in various Chick-fil-A locations posted on Facebook – I just Shared some of them at PalinECoalition.  Here are some of my favorites.  They were Shared on Facebook by Brenda Battle Jordan, who has a Chick-fil-A photo collection on her Facebook Wall.

Jennifer Jacobs at Iowa Politics also posted this commentary about Governor Palin’s interview with Eric Bolling yesterday:

Sarah Palin says she’s coming to Iowa soon – after she grabs some fries and chicken from Chick-fil-A.

“We’re on our way to Missouri to help out on a campaign and then to Nebraska and Iowa,” Palin told Fox News’ Eric Bolling in a live interview this afternoon, “but today we’re in Phoenix where there’s good Chick-fil-A and can’t wait to eat those waffle fries and spicy chicken.”

[…]

Activists for traditional marriage have turned out in force across the country today in support of Chick-fil-A’s president, who said in an interview last month that he’s “guilty as charged” of backing marriage between one man and one woman.

In the Des Moines area today, more than 3,000 people lined up at the Chick-fil-A at the Jordan Creek mall’s food court, joining in a battle of words and demonstrations over same-sex relationships.

Palin, who was GOP’s vice residential nominee in 2008, has shown her support for Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy’s comments by posing for a photo holding a bag of the take-out from the fast food chain, and by speaking out in television interviews.

She said on Fox News Tuesday that same-sex marriage supporters who boycott the company put a “chilling effect on our 1st Amendment rights.” Cathy was merely voicing support for “kind of that cornerstone of all civilization and all religions since the beginning of time,” she said.

Palin’s Pick Cruz’s Texas Win Is Her 7th Straight Endorsement Victory

Posted by M.Joseph Sheppard At Palin4President2016 on August 1, 2012

Poltico has called it for Cruz.

Ted Cruz, having won the GOP’s Texas Senate primary race tonight starting from 3% in the polls, makes it seven straight wins in a row for Palin endorsed candidates. The polling history makes it an indisputable fact that Palin was the key factor in Cruz’s rise and victory as he has happily admitted.

The likes of Doug Mataconis at Outside The Beltway and Maggie Haberman at Politico consider Palin has
a “dwindling band of supporters” and “Is not as relevant as she used to be” but clearly the people that count-the voters, think otherwise.
Palin stated when she decided against running for president in 2012 “you don’t need a title to make a difference”. The fact that the Senate is being shaped into “Palin’s Senate” election by election, shows this to be true. In fact in November 12 members of the senate may be there because of Palin’s endorsement to one degree or another.

Saxby Chambliss/ Orrin Hatch/Kelly Ayotte/Ted Cruz/Richard Mourdock/ Deb Fischer/Marco Rubio/Rand Paul/ Sarah Steelman/Jeff Flake/Pat Toomey/John Boozman are all assisted by a Palin endorsement of their campaigns.

Presuming all are in the Senate in November, which seems likely, that is a substantial block of Palin endorsed conservatives-perhaps 25% of the GOP’s Senate Caucus. Who knows what that may mean if there is a battle for the GOP’s 2016 presidential candidate nod. In the meantime it means a solid block of conservative votes in policy making.
Here is the history of Cruz’s remarkable rise and the Palin effect on his campaign.

.
“The Hill” gives credit where it is due “Ted Cruz: the Sarah Palin Phenomenon”

Subsequent to Sarah Palin’s endorsement of him, GOP candidate for senator from Texas Ted Cruz has completed the astonishing journey from polling at only 3% to being in the final run-off to winning the primary battle. Cruz having kept the previously presumed winner Dewhurst below 50% in tonight’s primary battle.

PRIMARY RESULT MAY 29th

92% reporting Ted Cruz 445,483 33.60%
David Dewhurst 593,865 44.79%
.

Clearly this last minute Tweet by Palin to Texans, and her previous robocall, made a major contribution to Cruz’s success in getting into the run-off tonight:

Sarah Palin

Dear Texans, please remember to vote today for Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate!

_____________________________

The Cruz rise follows on from Palin’s remarkable success in assisting conservative candidates, who were outsiders and initially polling lowly, into becoming winners. Richard Mourdock in Indiana and Deb Fischer in Nebraska are the two latest, whom even Palin’s enemies have grudgingly admitted were assisted by her into the winners circle.
Cruz is the last in the recent trifecta of come from behind wins (Palin also endorsed Hatch in Utah) then his win, following  his getting into the run-off by denying Dewhurst a first round victory, will be perhaps the most remarkable of Palin’s picks, and her place as king maker will have to be accepted by the punditry.
Of course not all Palin’s picks will win. That would be impossible, as some choices will have so little prospect of winning even though they are of outstanding quality. However her winning percentage is remarkable as is the enthusiasm her endorsments bring.
Here is remarkable polling history for Cruz.
January 2011 Dewhurst 23% Cruz 3% (Dewhurst +20)
PALIN ENDORSES CRUZ MAY 10th; CRUZ CAMPAIGN REPORTS MASSIVE INTEREST
Post PALIN endorsement poll May 21st
Democrat Pollster PPP Polling (D) on May 24th
Dewhurst 46% Cruz 29% (Dewhurst +17)
PPP also found this result:

“Even though Rick Perry’s candidate is likely to defeat Sarah Palin’s, her endorsement polls much more positively. 36% of voters say they’re more inclined to back a Palin supported candidate to 21% who consider it a negative. Perry’s stock with Texas Republicans has fallen so far his endorsement is actually a net minus with 24% saying it would make them more inclined to vote for his candidate to 28% who say less likely.”

All three long-shot wins showed the courage of conviction by Palin who put conviction above self-interest. Certainly, if the long-shots had all lost, the leftist media would have totally written her off as irrelevant, whereas now they (or rather some) suddenly discover “the power of Palin”.

Senator Hatch actively sought Palin’s interaction and endorsement and, as has been the case with all the people she has endorsed in this magnificent string of wins, he went up in the polls subsequently to 60% to 32%.  Prior to Palin’s endorsement Hatch had failed to be able to not be primaried as he received 59.1%.

In some ways Palin’s endorsement of Senator Hatch took more courage than her endorsment of some of the other recent candidates whose electoral path might have seemed to be harder.

Palin received a huge amount of negative comments from the right for her Hatch endorsement but, once again, she has put her principles ahead of whatever personal cost may have come her way. This is why Palin stands head and shoulders above so many in the political world.

Remaking Congress In Her Image;25% Of The GOP Senate Could Be Palin Endorsees

Posted by M.Joseph Sheppard At Palin4President2016 on August 1, 2012

Palin stated when she decided against running for president in 2012 “you don’t need a title to make a difference”. The fact that the Senate is being shaped into “Palin’s Senate” election by election, shows this to be true. Certainly Cruz, Fischer, Ayotte and Mourdock may not have been elected if it had not been for Palin’s endorsement which even the media acknowledges.

Presuming all are in the Senate in November, which seems likely, that is a substantial block of Palin endorsed conservatives-perhaps 25% of the GOP’s Senate Caucus.

Certainly there are also other senators e.g. Jim deMint for example, who would also vote with this conservative bloc.
This, in effect, Tea Party, caucus within the GOP will be a powerful force for the conservative point of view.

Who knows what that may mean if there is a battle for the GOP’s 2016 presidential candidate nod. In the meantime it means a solid block of conservative votes in policy making.

Video: Governor Palin and Greta Discuss Cruz, Cheney, RNC, and More

Posted by Adrienne Ross on August 1, 2012

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

Governor Palin appeared On the Record tonight and talked to Greta Van Susteren about a number of topics. They discussed the Ted Cruz’s victory, Chick-fil-A, traditional marriage, Dick Cheney, and the Republican National Convention. The Governor, I believe, was more vocal than I’ve ever seen her in calling out the GOP establishment and their little inside baseball games, where they seem content to use her as the baseball. Despite it all, as she expressed tonight, she continues to work hard and fight for America’s restoration.

Excellent kick-butt interview:
