Palin: “The Revolution Begins With You” at Right Online

Posted by Jackie Siciliano on June 15, 2012

Tony Lee is giving us a sneak preview of the theme for Sarah Palin’s message to attendees of the Right Online Conference in Las Vegas this evening.  Palin’s theme “The Revolution Begins With You” is fitting for both the audience in attendence and those that will be watching via livestream here.

From breitbart.com:

The battle for America’s political future will be won online, and the late Andrew Breitbart and Sarah Palin – the former Alaska Governor, vice presidential candidate, and current North Star of grassroots conservatives and Tea Partiers – were pioneers in understanding the power of the Internet in influencing political change and combating the mainstream media’s false narratives.

On Friday night, at the Right Online conference in Las Vegas, Nevada – a two-day gathering of online conservatives put on by the dynamic conservative group Americans For Prosperity – Palin will give a keynote address in addition to honoring Breitbart and his legacy.

A source close to Palin with knowledge of her speech told Breitbart News that Palin “will be speaking about the importance of new media” because “she sees conservative bloggers and social media activists as the vanguard of the grassroots conservative movement.” More

Palin Headlining RightOnline Conference in Las Vegas Tonight at 7 PM PST

Posted by Dr. Fay on June 15, 2012

Shannon Travis at CNN writes about the RightOnline conference in Las Vegas this weekend:

What happens in Vegas will not stay there this weekend as legions of Internet-savvy conservatives, including Sarah Palin, plot and share strategies for better competing with liberals in the digital sphere.

The former Alaska governor is just one of many to attend the fifth annual RightOnline conference in Las Vegas. The gathering will feature brand-name conservative figures rallying the masses and Internet activists hoping to maximize their political efforts on social media like Twitter and Facebook. Some attendees will learn how to use Twitter and Facebook for the first time.

The overall goal is to attempt to compete with the liberal and Democrat-aligned collection of bloggers and new media activists who have dominated political activism in the digital sphere, organizers say. In the last presidential election, Democrats were widely viewed as having an edge over Republicans in using the Internet to their political advantage.

“Over the years, RightOnline has built a reputation as the premier conference for bloggers, social media gurus and online activists to network and learn new tactics,” organizers posted on RightOnline’s website. Attendees will learn “the latest in new media applications and strategy for 2012.”

Palin’s Friday appearance is sure to excite tea partiers and others in attendance. Since announcing she would not run for president last October, the former Alaska governor has not headlined as many conservative conventions as in the past. Yet she has seen continued success at using new media to promote her own arguments and issues of concern to other conservatives.

Political observers will also watch for any sign that Palin may officially endorse presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney – something she has not yet done.

In addition to rallying conservative Internet activists, Palin is expected to help honor Andrew Breitbart, who died of heart failure in March at age 43. Like Palin, the conservative blogger regularly breathed fire against the mainstream media and regularly went around it to push stories. Though that made Breitbart a revered figure with conservative, grassroots activists, it also made him a highly controversial figure.

This year, RightOnline will preview the film, “Hating Breitbart” – a look at his life and controversies. Last year, the RightOnline conference in Minnesota screened the pro-Palin film, “The Undefeated.”

Other features for the weekend: speeches from conservative blogger and syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin and political commentator S.E. Cupp. The two-day agenda will also include sessions such as, “Social Media, Smarter: How to Rule Facebook & Twitter,” “Digital Activism: How your Mobile Phone is Changing the Face of Grassroots,” and “Superblogging: Taking your Blog to the Next Level.”

Bristol Palin: Tripp Will Be A Well-Rounded Kid

Posted by Dr. Fay on June 15, 2012

Bristol Palin was interviewed about her reality series by Sean Hannity on his show on FOX News last night.  When Sean asked her about the strong positions she had taken publicly on moral issues and why she did the reality series, she responded that no matter what she or her family are doing, people will still be talking about them.  So she might as well have a platform and talk about things important to her and show other girls that “it’s not easy.”

Sean noted that it was sad that Levi isn’t involved in Tripp’s life and asked if that had gotten any better, to which Bristol replied that it had not.  She said that even though Tripp did not have an active father figure, that he had awesome role models in her Dad and her brother and that he is going to be a well-rounded kid.

Sean asked Bristol if she had thought about running for office, and she responded “not any time soon.”  She said she wouldn’t shut that door yet, that she was only 21.  When asked if she wants her mother to run for President, she said that whatever Governor Palin does, the family will support her.   When Shawn brought up the vicious attacks on the Palin family, Bristol said that people talking about them gave her more “fire in my gut.”

Sean asked her if she was more like her Dad or her Mom.  Bristol said she thought she was more like her Dad because she was more “quiet.”    Sean clarified that by saying that Todd was more quiet than her Mom.

Bristol followed up the interview with this post on her blog:
