Bristol Palin: I’m just not that Hollywood type of person

Posted by Dr. Fay on June 11, 2012

First look: Bristol Palin and her cute sonTripp in a promotional photograph for her new reality show

We’re waiting for the video to appear here,  but Bristol was poised and beautiful in her appearance on Live! with Kelly on ABC this morning, where she talked with co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Jerry O’Connell. Asked about life before being thrust onto the national stage, Bristol said that it was “a lot more fun.”  When Kelly asked Bristol about her pregnancy, Bristol revealed that her grandparents and friends first learned about her pregnancy when it was broadcast on national TV. She then had to explain everything to them.

Bristol told how she had wanted to be a nurse and go to college  in the Lower 48, but that didn’t happen. But she described Tripp as “the light of my life.” When asked if she had developed a thick skin, she said that she was close to God and that faith was the root of her whole family and her life. She said that you just have to ignore some things.

The converstation turned to Bristol’s reality series, “Life is a Tripp.” Bristol disclosed that while the first episodes of the series were filmed in Los Angeles, most of the episodes were filmed in Alaska.  She said that she and Willow didn’t fit in in Los Angeles.  They were accustomed to wearing sweatshirts and jeans and being around big trucks, both of which didn’t fit in Los Angeles. Bristol said that she just wasn’t that Hollywood type of person.  She said she would rather be at home fishing and doing things like that.

Bristol said that Willow’s having to change diapers and otherwise help care for Tripp in Los Angeles was the best form of birth control. A clip of their Mom discussing the move to Los Angeles with Bristol and Willow was aired.  Sarah told them that a child that age thought the world revolved around him and that you have to be selfless and serve that child.  She jokingly told them that their moving to Los Angeles resembled the Beverly Hillbillies show – to which Bristol and Willow reacted in dismay.
