Mourdock’s Indiana Landslide Another Massive Win For Palin

Posted by M.Joseph Sheppard At Palin4President2016 on May 8, 2012

Despite all the attempts by the left to dismiss Sarah Palin as “irrelevant’ and ‘Sarah Who” and the GOP establishment to try and tar her with the 2008 loss, the voters, especially the Tea Party, find her very much a person whose opinions they should consider. A Google search for “Palin endorses Mourdoch” brings up 266,000 articles. If that is irrelevancy then please give me some for this blog.

With the victory of Richard Mourdock In the GOP  Senate Indiana primary tonight over 36 year veteran Dick Lugar, Palin adds to her 62% winning margin for those she endorsed who went on to battle Dem’s. This includes the now forgotten but at the time crucial Wisconsin supreme Court fight which the left had put so much effort into.

Palin’s endorsement of Judge David Prosser was perhaps crucial to his small margin of victory. There, as has been clearly shown time and time again elsewhere and now with Mourdock, when Palin endorses the polls shift and the money came flooding in.

Nikki Haley and Kelly Ayotte would be further excellent examples of that “Palin effect”. The media will ascribe Mourdock’s win to all sorts of people and factors whilst hardly mentioning Palin-although a new meme is starting to creep in about her influence on campaigns.

The media will ascribe Mourdock’s win to all sorts of people and factors whilst hardly mentioning Palin-although a new meme is starting to creep in about her influence on campaigns.

Surely the time has come for the media and establishment to acknowledge the obvious?

Well in a way they have. The meme is now shifting from Palin being “irrelevant” to Palin being a force just for the duration of a campaign. The supposed meme concluding that once the endorsed person wins a GOP primary they will then discard the Palin endorsement and shift to the center to attract indies.

Well, duh. Nearly every campaign shifts to the left or right as the case may be when the main battle starts. The difference with the Palin endorsement is clearly that no matter how much candidates like Mourdock et al shift to the center, they will not be a Lugar!

Further if they don’t keep to at least a recognizable portion of the conservative agenda they know they will be primaried out next time around, or the conservatives will stay at home.

Here is the power of the Palin effect shown once again.

Lugar was 7 points ahead of Mourdock in mid-March.

The Lugar campaign rushed out an endorsement of him by John McCain and added that to the endorsement of Mitch Daniels.

On April 17th polling has Mourdock 1 point ahead
Palin endorsed Mourdock on 27 April The poll released on May 1st had Mourdock a huge ten points ahead of Lugar.

Mourdock wins the primary by a landslide 60% to 40% at latest count

Mourdock For Indiana

By Sarah Palin on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 11:51am ·.I join commonsense conservatives in endorsing Richard Mourdock to be the next Senator from Indiana. Conservatives of all stripes are uniting behind Richard Mourdock. It’s not just Indiana that benefits from sending the right Senator to serve for the right reasons; the nation as a whole benefits, and that is one reason why the eyes of so many around the nation are focused on the Indiana race.

Indiana deserves a conservative in the Senate who will fight for the Hoosier State, uphold our Constitution, and not just go along to get along with the vested interests of the permanent political class in D.C.

Richard Mourdock is the conservative choice for Indiana. Senator Lugar’s 36 years of service as a Senator are appreciated, but it’s time for the torch to pass to conservative leadership in Washington that promises to rein in government spending now.

Palin Goes RINO Hunting in Indiana

Posted by Dr. Fay on May 8, 2012

This article was written by rightwingnut2 at RedState on Friday, before the news today that Mourdock has defeated Lugar.    The author points out the liberal tendencies of Lugar that most likely contributed to Governor Palin’s endorsement of his opponent.

Sarah Palin set the tone for the Senate and Congressional primary season today by taking aim at one the most vulnerable RINO incumbents in the country – Indiana Senator, Dick Lugar. I must confess, I did not know just how liberal Lugar was until I did a little research today. I agree whole-heartedly with Palin. It’s time to retire Lugar.

Here’s a portion of her endorsement:

….Richard Mourdock is the conservative choice for Indiana. Senator Lugar’s 36 years of service as a Senator are appreciated, but it’s time for the torch to pass to conservative leadership in Washington that promises to rein in government spending now…..

Read the rest here.

She also included links to Mourdock’s campaign websiteFacebook pageTwitter page, and a page highlighting the differences between Mourdock and the liberal Republican incumbent, Dick Luger. Here are a few highlights from that page….

On the Obama agenda:

Dick Lugar has been cited as “Barack Obama’s Favorite Republican” and has seemed star-struck with Obama since they first served together in the Senate. Lugar appeared in a campaign television advertisement for Obama during the 2008 presidential election, then went on to serve as a co-chair for Obama’s inaugural committee, and is now co-sponsoring several pieces of liberal legislation supported by President Obama.

On Supreme Court nominees:

Dick Lugar has voted for all of Barack Obama’s liberal activist Supreme Court judicial nominees, including Sonia Sotomayor 4 and Elena Kagan 5. He also supported far-left Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s confirmation to the Supreme Court.

On illegal immigration:

Dick Lugar has repeatedly voted for amnesty for illegal immigrants, and is a main sponsor of Obama’s DREAM act 6 that will fast-track amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants. At the same time, Lugar has opposed efforts to secure our borders7.

On the Second Amendment:

Dick Lugar earns a “F” rating from the NRA and an “F” from the Gun Owners of America for being a strong advocate of gun control. Lugar has voted for the “assault weapons” ban, the Brady Bill, the DC handgun ban and other gun control legislation

Palin: Lady Liberty Beaded Necklace

Posted by Jackie Siciliano on May 8, 2012

While the publisher of this blog usually sticks with more serious subject matters, ever so often it’s okay to leave all things serious behind, especially when it comes to jewelry!

You may recall that on March 26th, Governor Sarah Palin appeared “On The Record” with Greta Van Susteren wearing a very unusual necklace.  Fellow blogger Michael Sheppard recently  discovered the artist behind that very unique necklace and as many people guessed, it’s the same artist that created the beautiful red, white, and blue cuff bracelet (photo below) that Palin often wears.

From Linda Pratt’s (artist) etsy site:

This necklace was given as a gift to the awesome Governor Sarah Palin. The necklace is called “Lady Liberty” in honor of Sarah Palin who is a courageous lady who fights for the liberty of America every day. I am Thankful for her. I am also honored that she wears it, and the necklace pales in comparison to her beauty, both inside and out. I also give glory to God for my talent. This necklace is a labor of love that takes 3 weeks to finish, so it is MADE TO ORDER.

This is the piece that I would dearly love to have.

The artist has also created South Carolina inspired pieces for Governor Nikki Haley.

H/T Michael Sheppard
