According to the Democratic pollster PPP (D) who polls for the radical left-wing site Daily Kos Sarah Palin’s favorables in Ohio are the highest of all potential GOP nominees at present. Her 34% favorability rating leads the field even against Romney and Perry.
Mitt Romney, 30% favorable/49% unfavorable, Rick Perry, 28% favorable/37% unfavorable, Michele Bachmann, 30% favorable/49% unfavorable, Sarah Palin, 34% favorable/59% unfavorable, and Herman Cain, 22% favorable/35% unfavorable.
On the debit side her unfavorables are also the highest but if she declares and stumps in Ohio there is of course every chance for her to bring that aspect down-the C4P analysis below shows this movement is already under way.To put it further into perspective president Obama’s ratings are a 44/52 so Palin as nominee would have a fighting chance in this key state.
This further analysis from Conservatives4Palin:
The Daily Kos pollster finds that Governor Palin’s net favorable rating among Ohio McCain/Palin voters has improved by three since May while Mitt “peacetime” Romney’s net favorable rating among Ohio McCain/Palin voters has decreased by fourteen. Palin’s net favorable rating among Ohio indepedents has improved by sixteen points since May while Romney’s net favorable rating among Ohio independents has decreased by nine. Romney’s net favorable rating among Ohio Republicans is down seventeen points since May.
This analysis from PPP’s results:
In Vermont, an ultra-liberal state in which Obama defeated McCain by 37 points in 2008-61% to 31% PPP finds that Palin runs behind Obama by 34 points-a three point improvement. Amongst the GOP candidates Palin’s favorability is second only to Romney but like all Republicans it is very low.
PPP makes the point that if President Obama’s now 20 point lead over Romney, a 17 point drop from his margin over McCain, was repeated, pro rata, nationwide, there would be a GOP landslide. Thus the presidency is there for Palin should she run and receive the nomination on today’s polling.

Media’s Latest BSO, Perry Starts At 29% In Rasmussen Poll (Sans Palin).Next To Collapse Whilst Palin Watches & Waits?
Posted by M.Joseph Sheppard At Palin4President2016 on August 16, 2011
UPDATE:Alaska Dispatch’s “Palin Watch” mirrors the Palin/Perry analysis below
The media’s latest Bright Shiny Object, the non-Romney who would galvanize the GOP faithful, and destroy President Obama, is off to a wonderful start-29% and the lead in the latest Rasmussen poll.
That poll did not include Palin, and there is no doubt that Perry’s support in it would not be at 29% if she were included (just as Bachmann would not have received the vote level in Iowa that she did if Palin had been a declared candidate).
This follows the previous media BSO’s, and what a long line of them there are.Thune/Daniels/Huntsman/Christie (still being pushed)/Pawlenty, and many more-the queue goes off into the distance. Bachmann was, of course, last weeks media star, until Perry declared and the media scrum shifted bodily to him.
Bachmann had her meteoric rise in the polls to 16% and since then has drifted back to around 7%-12% depending on which poll you look at, but it appears the momentum has stopped. And why do these shooting stars rise and fall so quickly? Basically because they are in reality unknown quantities and are media creations.
Once the media starts its digging, or muck raking if you prefer, all sorts of drama comes out,,both personal and public. Once the candidates profile gets lifted then their statements get covered. Then silly, or stupid, or irrational or wrong statements, which would usually pass unnoticed, get blown up for the country to judge the character and capability of the issuer of them.
When this happens, the result is not so good-witness Bachmann’s media savaging, and now, Perry is getting the blowtorch treatment, caused, mostly by his own foot in mouth predilections. The man sounds so much like the media despised GW Bush that the more the public hears from him, the quicker his decline will be “Does the country want another Bush clone from Texas” will be blogged incessantly, and the satirists will have a field day with Perry.
This rise and fall and media search for a new BSO, has one root cause and that is the fact that the putative front runner, Romney is so lacking in inspiration and is running such a bland, almost hidden campaign.
The rank and file are riled up and they want leadership (witness the quick death of the bland Pawlenty’s campaign), just like the media wants conflict. Romney does not have the capacity to give this Tea Party led desire for radical change the outlet they need. Bachmann and Perry are already, and will further, wilt under the media spotlight, and will be shown to have feet of clay.
Only one prospective candidate has been through the media grinder and is still standing, and that of course is Sarah Palin. Should she declare, the support she gets initially will be genuine base level support, which she can build on-it will most certainly, not be media driven support.
The nomination is a marathon, not a media driven sprint. Palin is eyeing up the starting line and if she enters the race she will not be governed by the old media script nor the Beltway fossils in her race tactics.

Todd Palin Asks Unreasonable “Sellout” Woman a Reasonable Question
Posted by Adrienne Ross on August 16, 2011
By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com
Todd Palin was confronted by someone wielding insults at the Iowa State Fair. Her accusation? Governor Palin is a sellout because she resigned from the governor’s office. Todd handles the situation by asking the woman what she would have done if she were the one getting hammered with ethics complaint after ethics complaint and was being buried in debt as a result. The woman, of course, had no answer. All she could do was resort to name calling, which is exactly what people do when they cannot deal with the issues. Had she really thought there was a reasonable alternative when dealing with the thousands of dollars the Palins were required to pay to defend themselves, she would have put forth that alternative. The truth is she had none.
Once again, let’s set the record straight. Even though Governor Palin was cleared of any wrongdoing in every single one of those bogus complaints, the Palins were required to pay to defend themselves, and there was no end in sight. Those bent on bankrupting this family and costing the state of Alaska time and monetary resources–thereby stifling progress–would have never discontinued their efforts. It was a calculated plan to take her down, and she wisely did what she had to do for the benefit of her family and her state.
Stacy Drake takes on this issue in her article, “Governor Palin Never “Sold Out” to Anyone”:
The San Francisco Chronicle shot some footage at the Iowa State Fair last Friday that has been making the online rounds this week. The video shows a woman who claims to be from Alaska, heckling Todd Palin by calling Governor Palin a “sellout” for resigning from office.
This line of attack is common with the governor’s foes for many reasons. For one, it’s much easier to spin the fact that she stepped down from her post than it is to explain the complicated circumstances that led up to her decision. It certainly takes less time. Second, Governor Palin’s political enemies don’t have anything else. The governor has been fully vetted in public view over the past three years, and there isn’t anything else for them to latch onto. The left-wing press even sued to have all of her emails released to them, only to come out with nothing but message after message of a good public servant doing her job, and doing it well.
I wrote a piece back in December of 2010 called “Why Governor Palin Resigned.” I gave an overview of the section in Going Rogue where the governor wrote about her decision to step down. In the book, the governor writes about the avalanche of politically motivated frivolous lawsuits that were taking their toll of the state. They were bogging down her administration, costing Alaska time and resources in a fight that appeared to have no end unless she did something drastic. As you can tell by Todd’s reaction in the clip, the lawsuits were also taking a financial toll on the Palin family. Her decision to pass the ball to her Lt. Governor weighed heavily on her for sure. But there is no doubt that it boiled down to doing the right thing for the State of Alaska, and the right thing for her family.
Read more here.
Todd Palin presented a reasonable question when he asked the woman what she would have done. Left with nothing, she–like a junior high schooler–turned, walked away, and called back, “Sellout.” It seems to me she should have hung around long enough to engage in an adult conversation about how the Palins could have better handled the politics of personal destruction being waged on Governor Palin. Todd gave this woman a great opportunity to articulate her superior knowledge, but instead, she diverted the conversation. Quite telling, isn’t it?

Palin-Beck ‘Defending the Republic’ Appearance Reported
Posted by Adrienne Ross on August 16, 2011
By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com
FM NewsTalk 97.1 out of St. Louis reports “Defending the Republic,” an event scheduled for October 7th at 7:30 p.m. To my knowledge, Governor Palin has not made a public statement about this function, but if/when she does, I will post her comments.
Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are coming to town for a once in a lifetime event and you don’t want to miss it. FM NewsTalk 97.1 and Hansen’s Tree Service proudly present Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck, Friday October 7th, at the Family Arena.
[…]
Join FM NewsTalk 97.1 as two of our country’s leading conservative standard bearers share the same stage. Sarah Palin first made history on December 4, 2006 when she was sworn in as the first female governor of Alaska. In August 2008, Senator John McCain tapped her to serve as his vice-presidential running mate in his presidential campaign, making her the first woman to run on the Republican Party’s presidential ticket.
Glenn Beck, known for his quick wit, candid opinions, and engaging personality, has attracted millions of viewers and listeners throughout the United States with The Glenn Beck Program. His radio show is heard on over 400 stations. It is the third highest-rated national radio talk show among adults ages 25 to 54.
Do not miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to witness the fusion of two intellectual conservatives as they Defend the Republic on the Family Arena stage.
More here.
The general public will be able to purchase tickets this Friday, August 19th, through Metrotix.
For the benefit of those who have voiced concern that this new event in October means Governor Palin has decided not to run for President, Scott Conroy of Real Clear Politics tweets the following nerve-calmer:
@GOP12 Am told the Palin/Beck appearance was arranged 6 months ago, so I wouldn’t read any tea leaves there

Palin Ties For Lead in PPP N.Carolina Poll,Wins Straw Polls Handily,Bachmann Drifts Off the Pace Again
Posted by M.Joseph Sheppard At Palin4President2016 on August 16, 2011
Firstly Palin ties for the lead in North Carolina in a new poll from PPP (D) polling whilst Bachmann heads out the back door-the +/- speaks for itself. Thanks to Techno at Conservatives4Palin for the analysis. This result is without her being a declared candidate of course, which shows her latent strength. It is a given that if she declared her support level must rise further.
PPP North Carolina poll results (today’s poll vs July 28/2011) and net difference:

Whilst hardly a scientific analysis the New York Daily News ran a readers poll asking who would be the best GOP candidate to take on President Obama. At one point she, Palin, was so out in front at 55% support that they took the poll down. This result is striking because the NYDN readers, in the heart of Obama country, have been amongst the most snarky in their comments about her whenever that paper does an article on her.
Here are the Daily News Poll results: (thanks To “Curth” At C4P)
Who would make the strongest GOP presidential candidate to run against President Obama?
Michele Bachmann
5%
Herman Cain
5%
Newt Gingrich
0%
John Huntsman
1%
Sarah Palin
51%
Ron Paul
6%
Rick Perry
8%
Mitt Romney
6%
Rick Santorum
10%
None of the above
7%
Again, hardly scientific but notable. At the Iowa Fair over the weekend they had a “corn kernel” poll where the public could put a kernel in a jar marked with the respective candidates names. Palin won this handily.
SARAH WINS AMES CORN KERNEL POLL!
O. P. Ditch from Vets4Sarah spotted this nugget of information:
“Separately, attendees voted in a corn kernel poll, which measures the support of each Republican by the number of kernels in their respective Mason jar. By late morning, the kernel level in Sarah Palin’s jar rose just above the best-known GOP candidates — even though the former Alaska governor has not declared her intentions yet for 2012.”
These sort of folksy “polls” do have significance e.g. the clothing company whose candidate branded items constantly reflect who is going to win, as they show grass roots levels of enthusiasm.
Palin has won the Hot Air readers poll against all comers and various other straw polls. There is no question but that there is a substantial pool of support for her, and should she choose to run this will become readily apparent in polling, especially as the herd thins out bit by bit.

A Humbling Reminder of Our Duty
Posted by Ron Devito on August 15, 2011
Governor Palin today posted on Facebook:
We spent a very moving day in Kansas City, Missouri, where it’s easy to remember what really matters, because here we have the National World War I Museum and Liberty Memorial.
The Liberty Memorial Tower is dedicated “In honor of those who served in the World War in defense of liberty and our country.” Reading the many memorial inscriptions while standing in the rain was a somber and humbling reminder of the sacrifices young Americans made nearly a century ago in distant battlefields so far from home. So many of them never returned from those fields in France and Belgium. Yes, it was a somber, real, significant moment reading those words about the honor in one’s dedication to God and country.
The main inscription on the memorial reads: “These have dared bear the torches of sacrifice and service. Their bodies return to dust but their work liveth evermore. Let us strive on to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.”
I took the above photo of Piper and my niece McKinley with the memorial in the background. It brought home to me what this “One Nation Tour” is about. It’s about the duty we have not just to the living, but also to the dead and to the generations yet to be born. Our founders called us the “heirs of freedom,” and as such we have a duty to those who have already paid the price for us to live in freedom, and we have a duty to those who will come after us.
Our freedom was purchased by millions of men now long-forgotten throughout our history who charged the cannons, ran into bayonets, suffered in the trenches, and gave their lives so that we could live in relative comfort doing what we feel led to do. We can’t squander what they gave us or what the next generation expects from us. This is why visiting these historic sites and bringing your children to see them is so important. This is why I wanted to bring my own children with me to show them our history and remind them that America’s children will carry the torch of freedom one day.
Now it’s back to Alaska for the start of the school year. (And, of course, our annual visit to our own state fair where Piper looks forward to clogging on the Blue Bonnet Stage!) While kids crack open their school books, I look forward to continuing my own writing and research on strategies and plans to help move our country forward.
We will be back on the road soon, for on September 3rd we’ve been invited to a big Tea Party “Restoring America” rally in Waukee, Iowa. We hope to see many of you there as we gather to discuss the direction of our country and the way forward with our fundamental restoration of all that is good and strong and free in America. You can click here for more information on the event.
Thank you all for your support and for sharing this leg through the Heartland of the “One Nation Tour” with us.
With an Alaskan heart,
Sarah Palin

WIFR Television Rockford Ill Has Stunning Photo Report On Palin At Reagan Museum
Posted by M.Joseph Sheppard At Palin4President2016 on August 15, 2011
WATCH VIDEO HERE
DIXON (WIFR) — There was a major surprise at this year’s Ronald Reagan Trails Days event in Dixon. Sarah Palin, the former 2008 nominee for vice-president made an unexpected stop at the celebration.
Pictures were given to 23 News of Palin making the bus stop. Some staff members and volunteers say they were shocked to see Palin’s “One Nation” tour bus arrive. Only the executive director knew about her visit ahead of time. The museum says they were forced to keep the stop top secret to prevent media from coming by. Palin signed autographs and took dozens of pictures with local guests.
Palin’s stop adds to speculation about her possible presidential bid. She says she’ll decide by the end of summer whether she’ll get into the crowded race. Meantime, President Obama’s bus tour begins Monday. He’s expected to pass through Illinois.

She could definitely be President! Heck anyone who could fog a mirror would be better than the phony who occupies the white house now – btw, over 80 rounds of golf and lord knows how many fundraisers! The only job he’s concerned about is his own. Luckily, he’s failed in everything he has attempted and he’ll fail in keeping “his job”… Heck, even most libs realize they made the wrong choice!!!

Bachmann Loses Respected Conservative Prof.Jacobson Because Of Her Trashing Of Palin
Posted by M.Joseph Sheppard At Palin4President2016 on August 14, 2011
Prof William Jacobson who is associate Clinical professor at Cornell Law School has a highly scathing column up in his Legal Insurrection site which he castigates Michele Bachmann, advising, inter alia:
The entire column is here (click link)
So disgusted, apparently, is Prof. Jacobson with Bachmann that he titles his post “Anyone but Bachmann” which, coming from such a highly admired academic (The Other McCain’s Stacy McCain is a big supporter) is strong condemnation indeed.
Jacobson makes the point that Palin has been savaged by the media and because of that he
is especially intolerent of such attacks coming from GOP candidates “As you know, I have zero tolerance for Republicans who trash talk Sarah Palin. Three years of Palin Derangement Syndrome have made me allergic; Palin stands apart from other Republican candidates in that regard.”
It is noticeable that Palin has, to my knowlege, never attacked another Republican, certainly in the manner that Bachmann’s attack dog Rollins did to her as she believes in Reagan’s golden rule.
Jacobson concludes with the telling prognostication that Bachmann’s tactics will, in the end, be her downfall;
Instead Bachmann viewed Palin entering the race as a threat and therefore decided that attacking Palin through surrogates was the best tactic, but that was myopic. If Palin enters the race, Bachmann is done regardless of anything Bachmann did or didn’t do; but if Palin does not enter the race Bachmann could have had the chance to lead the coalition. That chance is gone because Bachmann destroyed the coalition, or at least her ability to lead it.
Bachmann will not be the nominee, regardless of whether Palin runs, and Bachmann has no one to blame but herself”
To have lost such a solid voice of reason so early in the piece reflects badly on Bachmann and her prospects. I for one will never vote for her.
