Sarah Palin Wins August Hot Air Straw Poll With Highest Percentage Yet

Posted by Gary P Jackson on August 3, 2011

By Gary P Jackson

Sarah Palin has won every Hot Air presidential straw poll ever presented. And she has won them very convincingly. This month is no different. With 2309 votes Sarah takes 40% of the vote compared to second place Rick Perry’s 33% with 1888 votes. Support for Michele Bachmann has collapsed. She only gets 442 votes, 8%.

This month HA brings back the Vice President question with some interesting results. Congressman Allen West is usually the run-away favorite in these things, but this time Senator Marco Rubio crushes the competition with a solid 32% of the vote. West comes in second with 13%. My guess is the debt ceiling debate changes some minds, as Rubio was out front and center against the deal, and West was for it.

The second choice presidential candidate for those surveyed is Rick Perry, with 24%.

Seeing it Early: Frank Aquila Lobbied to Have Palin on the Ticket

Posted by reagantman on August 3, 2011

cross posted at A Time For Choosing

Three years ago, the Republican Party was about to nominate John McCain for president. As Barack Obama surged in the polls and the excitement that surrounded him grew, it was clear to me that the Democrat Party had just nominated another Jimmy Carter – and we didn’t have a Reagan to put up against him. Or at least I thought. Frank Aquila, president of the South San Joaquin Republicans (SSJR), and a few other political operatives in the GOP saw one warming up in the cold bullpen known as Alaska.

John McCain was having trouble drawing people to his rallies. Then on August 29, 2011, the future of America changed. Still tomorrow’s heroine today, Sarah Palin was introduced to a hungry nation that was first electrified by her before having their views tempered by a lying media. Frank Aquila knew all along that she was the one.

The synopsis of his new book Sarah Palin Out of Nowhere explains how Frank Aquila played a role in the selection of Sarah Palin for vice president.

Frank reveals the actual email correspondence he had with the McCain campaign and the detailed telephone conversation he had prior to Senator McCain’s announcement of Governor Palin as his vice presidential nominee. Frank explains why he lobbied for Governor Palin, how she electrified the presidential ticket and how Governor Palin has the same qualities of President Ronald Reagan.

Aquila was a  “California delegate for his county, which positioned him to become chairman of Senator John McCain’s 2008 presidential run for the White House for San Joaquin County in California.”

Cynics and skeptics claim that the choice of Sarah Palin was a gimmick designed to help McCain win the presidency by selecting a woman VP simply because she was a woman or because she was attractive. This is far from the truth. Sarah Palin’s record from the PTA all the way through her governorship was stellar, pragmatically conservative and the cause for great popularity among her constituents. Before the masses were brainwashed by the Obama slobbering media, Sarah Palin was political gold, unknown only because she came from the remote state of Alaska.

Many saw Reaganesque qualities in her. Fred Barnes and Bill Kristol saw it before they revealed themselves to be political chickens by not standing behind her through the smear campaign. They simply wanted to use her to push their own neo-conservative agenda. Frank Aquila, on the other hand, stood for her through thick and thin.

Just like a true Palinista, Aquila knew there was nothing wrong with the real Sarah Palin. Vetted like a nun at a TSA airport security checkpoint, Palin was clean. The media had nothing but fabrications, innuendos and whining malcontents to tear her down with. But  Sarah Palin would have none of it. She resigned her governorship to pull the plug on them and then went out on her own where she became a successful author, speaker and political analyst.

Governor Palin holds the future in her hand. She is the rare leader that can take America from today’s depths of despair to tomorrow’s renewal and restoration. It is a testimony to the American spirit that there were people who saw this years ago. If this country is to be saved, it will only be because they got Sarah Palin to us in the nick of time.

Today, Palin’s army is the strongest its ever been. Her support continues to grow as she draws closer to deciding on a presidential run. Long forgotten are the fiction pieces written by Joe McGinniss and Frank Bailey. The Undefeated stands out now as the definitive film about Palin’s record. Now, Sarah Out of Nowhere will stand out as the definitive book about how and why Sarah Palin was introduced to America.

Frank Aquila, author of Sarah Palin Out of Nowhere will be my guest on Patrick’s World USA tonight on BlogTalk Radio at 11pm ET and 8pm PT.

In Exactly One Month Palin’s Iowa Speech-Fans/Rivals Nerves On Edge. Will She Announce?

Posted by M.Joseph Sheppard At Palin4President2016 on August 3, 2011

On September 3rd the odds are that Sarah Palin, keynote speaker at the Waukee Iowa Tea Party extravaganza will announce that yes, she is a candidate for the presidency of the United States of America.

On the other hand she may have made such an announcement sometime in August and will use the Waukee event as her first campaign foray in Iowa.

She may, alternatively, announce that she supports the aims and aspirations of the Tea Party with utmost personal commitment, and will endorse one of the declared, or soon to be declared candidates, whose policies best match those of the Tea Party, and of course herself, and thus are, she believes, in the best interests of America.

Which of these scenario’s will play out is known to only Sarah and Todd Palin it appears, despite what the various pundits predict, but it is certain that a decision will have been made before, at the event or, in the case of an endorsement, very shortly afterwards.

This has been clearly indicated by Sarah Palin herself, as late as yesterday on the Sean Hannity show where she advised that:
“Well, legally, of course, there are time frames, and that time is coming rapidly in front of all of us. August and September you do have to start laying out a plan if you are to be one to throw your hat in the ring, so that’s basically the time frame.”

After years of watching and waiting, hoping praying, riding the roller coaster of downward despair and then a swift rise to new heights for the legions, 3 million on Facebook alone, of dedicated Palin fans the waiting appears to be nearly over-just one month to go!

The home base of some of the most loyal Palinistas is the Blog “Conservatives4Palin” which runs, sometimes hourly, updates on all things Palin  and has a lively commentary posting. They have helped organize a meet up of their readers from across America for the big day which is, significantly on the three year anniversary of her earth shaking introductory speech to the nominating convention

Lately, as sure signs that the end time is approaching, nerves are getting frazzled, older supporters are metaphorically holding the hands of the more nervous newer or younger ones and auguries are being watched which would do justice to ancient Rome.

Sarah appears on television, and a discussion breaks out on her hair style. Is it up or down? Is it  in the “third of her television styles”? Where is the parting? Which, to aficionados, has some sort of coded message about her intentions.

Then there is the problem of Palin’s pledge to local Alaskan talk show hosts Bob and Mark that she would make the announcement on their program. If she makes the announcement she is running, should she do so, in Iowa on the 3rd, will a live link up be arranged so the pledge can be honored?

One thing is certain in all this conjecture, which grateful for the nerves of all involved (including those of probable the rival candidates and the media) whichever way the decision goes it will shake up the campaign which is, in reality, in a holding pattern until Palin decides.

For her legions of fans, and one would suspect, for the legions of bloggers, editorial writers, and talking heads, an announcement that she is running will be a moment of joy.

This too for the left as well as the right, the left will go berserk as they will have a target to take all their frustrations out on the failure of their idol President Obama to live up to their expectations, but certainly, for all involved it will be an historic moment whichever way the decision goes.
