Palin to attend The Undefeated premiere in Iowa

As the nation continues to battle rising unemployment figures and an increasing national debt, 2012 presidential candidates are planning a flurry of political activity in the first-in-the-nation presidential voting state of Iowa.

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) is scheduled to make her presidential bid official in Waterloo on Monday; Rep. Thad McCotter (R-Mich.), who just reserved a spot at the Aug. 13 Iowa Straw Poll, will be headlining a tea party rally ; Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) will campaign in Iowa on Monday; and President Obama will headline a manufacturing event at an Alcoa plant in the Hawkeye state.

But making some of the biggest headlines is a documentary that celebrates the career of Sarah Palin. “The Undefeated” will debut at the 111-year-old Pella Opera House in Pella, Iowa on Tuesday, June 28. The documentary highlights Palin’s term as Alaska governor and as the vice presidential nominee. Viewers will get a glimpse into Palin’s battle with the oil companies and the GOP establishment.

“I believe it sets the record straight that she clearly deserves to be at the table when you talk about leaders of the country,” said Stephen Bannon, the writer, director and producer. “Her record (as governor) is far greater than Governor Romney or Governor Pawlenty.”

CNN is reporting that the film’s star will be on hand for the big debut. The production company behind the film announced Saturday that Palin and her husband Todd would be in Pella, Iowa, for the showing on Tuesday.

“We are very excited to visit historic Pella and its opera house and look forward to seeing the finished film for the first time with fellow Americans from the heartland,” Palin said in a statement.

For those unable to attend in Iowa, the film will play exclusively at select AMC Theatres, starting on July 15th. The Undefeated will launch in markets such as Dallas, Denver, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Atlanta, Orange County, Phoenix, Houston, Indianapolis, and Kansas City. Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. (NASDAQ: CIDM), a full-service theatrical distributor specializing in digital cinema, is managing the theatrical release and ARC Entertainment has taken on worldwide distribution responsibilities for the project.
