Reuters-Ipsos: Sarah Palin Leads Field For Republican Presidential Nomination

Posted by Gary P Jackson on June 8, 2011

By Gary P Jackson

A new poll shows Sarah Palin leading the GOP field for the presidential nomination. Mitt Romney comes in second. This comes on the heels of a PPP poll that shows her tied with Romney overall, and crushing him among Conservatives.

Reuters didn’t publish their internals, but if they do, we’ll follow up with more info.

In a question posed to Republican voters,. Romney, who announced his candidacy last Friday, was in second place behind Sarah Palin in a match up between potential Republican hopefuls.

Former Alaska governor Palin, who has not said whether she will run next year, had support of 22 percent of those polled against Romney’s 20 percent.
