Posted by Ron Devito on May 2, 2011
Dear Friends,
Tonight, Sarah will be giving a Tribute to the Troops at Colorado Christian University at 7:00pm Mountain Time, 9:00pm Eastern. She will be appearing along side distinguished military leaders and service members to show appreciation to our nation’s men and women in uniform past, and present – at home, and abroad.
All proceeds will be donated to the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), a charity benefiting families of the fallen.
You can watch the event live online at SarahPAC.com.

As attendees of the event, we were beyond disappointed to find this.
WATCH 9NEWS COVERAGE OF TRIBUTE TO THE TROOPS
http://www.9news.com/news/article/196507/339/Palin-leaves-out-Obama-during-remarks
Dear 9News,
We were extremely disappointed with the coverage of Sarah Palin’s Tribute to the Troops event. Her presence at Colorado Christian University was to honor and to pay tribute to the Troops, not President Obama. The event, planned ahead of Osama bin Laden’s death, was designed to celebrate the heroism found in the United States armed forces. Therefore, the death of bin Laden, did not change the focus of her speech. Due to the death of this malicious and hateful person, her remarks about President Bush was warranted. President Bush laid the groundwork for the order that President Obama signed. Palin did mention President Obama, even if she did not reference his name. Consider this direct quote from Palin’s speech, “Yesterday was a testament to the military’s dedication in relentlessly hunting down an enemy through many years of war, and we thank our President. We thank President Bush for having made the right calls to set up this victory.”
The event was not about the current president. Your broadcast deliberately misquoted the former governor, to portray Palin’s as disrespectful of President Obama. As attendees of the event, we were not moved only by Palin’s thoughts on current affairs, but on her patriotism for United States troops. Veterans, active service men, and family members of those in the military were applauded. Sgt. Guinta, a recipient of the Medal of Honor was also recognized. All around, this event was 100% a Tribute to the Troops, hence the title of the rally! T.A.P.S., the organization that received over $40,000 of proceeds from this event was not mentioned by name in the evening news broadcast! This group provides wonderful support for those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. 9News had the perfect opportunity to spread the word about this organization but instead, used this chance to paint Palin in a disturbing regard. Viewers of your program who did not attend Tribute to the Troops, would have assumed, from your broadcast, that Palin’s speech was completely disrespectful and dismissive to the current administration. She boldly gave credit where credit was due, to the troops who have fought nine and a half long years.
We are sure that the countless military personnel of Colorado and those that are stationed in Colorado were overjoyed at the acknowledgement that they received on your program. We are sure that the viewers who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attack and in the proceeding war, were touched by your kind words. The lack of honor and recognition given to the troops after such a victory in the War on Terror was astounding. As long time viewers of 9News, we now question your ability to accurately report current events. We are appalled that an event to support and honor the members of the military was morphed to fit your biased political agenda. Shame on you!
Disgusted,
