Happy Third Birthday Trig Paxson Van Palin

Posted by Ron Devito on April 18, 2011

At this moment, three years ago today, Trig Paxson Van Palin was born. Governor Sarah Palin was speaking at a National Governors Association conference in Dallas, TX when she started having contractions. She returned to Alaska so Trig would be born on Alaskan soil. “Trig” is a Norse name with two meanings: “true” and “brave victory.” The first three letters of “Paxson” are Latin for “peace.”

Politician and conservative activist Sarah Palin holds her son Trig Palin as she attends a rally for the Tea Party Express national tour October 22, 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona. The tour, part of an initiative to get conservatives elected to the House and Senate, will move across country and conclude on November 1, 2010 in Concord, New Hampshire the day before the contentious mid-term elections.

“Every child is created special with awesome purpose and amazing potential. Children are the most precious and promising ingredient in this mixed-up world….”

-Gov. Palin, Going Rogue, P. 186.

On this day, we take a pause to wish Trig a Happy Birthday and a life filled with joy, and to recognize his mother – Gov. Palin – who stood up, did the right thing, and lived her values.
