Gov. Palin Secures Restraining Order Against Deranged Stalker

Posted by Ron Devito on April 14, 2011

Governor Palin has secured a new temporary restraining order against Shawn Christy, the 19-year-old deranged stalker who has been harassing and threatening the Palins and Kristan Cole, and who has made threats against Obama and Senator John McCain, according to widespread media reports. The current order extends two prior ones that were in effect for six months and 20 days respectively.

Gov. Palin will testify in court later this month that Christy threatened to rape one of her daughters – most likely Willow – and request that the restraining order be made permanent.

Christy’s stalking included vulgar calls to Gov. Palin’s home; sending the Palins receipts from a gun purchase and telling them of his intent to purchase a one-way ticket to Alaska. Christy in fact made a brief round trip to and from Anchorage at a cost of $700. Long-time staffer and friend Kristan Cole was also subjected to Christy’s stalking habits and was granted restraining orders barring him from contacting her.

Jews For Sarah Responds to Attack on Their Heroic Media/Shabbaton Announcement

Posted by Dr. Fay on April 14, 2011

Here is the excellent response made by Benyamin Korn, director of Jewish Americans for Sarah Palin and Jews For,  to the attack at The Philadelphia Jewish Voice on his announcement of a Shabbaton to be held in conjunction with Governor Palin’s Heroic Media event on April 30 in Bethesda, Maryland.

To the Editor:

Regarding David Streeter’s rather shrill indictment of our ad in the Washington Jewish Week for a shabbaton featuring a public talk by Gov. Sarah Palin, in conjunction with the pro-life group Heroic Media:

JewsForSarah is proud to be offering this event in conjunction with the banquet dinner of Heroic Media. Our sole reason for not describing Heroic Media’s pro-life mission in our ad for the shabbaton (a question raised originally by Politico’s Ben Smith) – there simply was no room to do so.

It is typical of news media treatment of Mrs. Palin to want to divert the conversation about her to side issues. As our ad indicates, JewsForSarah’s main reasons for supporting her are our opposition to the “progressive” takeover of the American government, our opposition to Pres. Obama’s relentless diplomatic pressure on Israel, our support for American energy independence, and our opposition to the runaway fiscal and spending policies of Pres. Obama and the “progressive” Democrats. We support Gov. Palin because we find her to be the most effective public advocate for these positions, and the President’s most effective critic.

But since he fairly raises the subsidiary question of our cooperation with a pro-life group, may I say that Mr. Streeter does an injustice simply by throwing the label “anti-choice” onto Heroic Media and their work. Anyone may visit, where this self-description is found:

Heroic media’s mission is to reduce abortion and create a Culture of Life by connecting women facing unexpected pregnancies to life-affirming resource centers.

This type of work may not be pro-abortion, but it is hard to see how it is “anti-choice.”

Now Mr. Streeter may take a certain comfort that many American Jews keep him company in the precincts of the “pro-choice” movement. And some JewsForSarah supporters agree with him, nevertheless rallying behind Gov. Palin for the reasons stated above.

But we are astonished by the silence in otherwise morally-attuned Jewish circles to the stark fact that 87,273 abortions were performed in New York City alone in the year 2009 (we do not have Philadelphia data), where a staggering 41% of pregnancies ended in abortion. Among African-American women in New York in that year, nearly 60% of pregnancies were ended by abortion. (New York Sun, 4-9-11)

Moreover, in our view, the Jewish community suffers from a demographic crisis of our own, and would do well to more fully embrace a “Culture of Life.” (Perhaps even needing our own Heroic Jewish Media.)

Finally, as to Mr. Streeter’s denunciation of Gov. Palin’s “extremist position on women’s rights,” PJVoice readers are recommended to Kay Hymowitz’s excellent essay, “Sarah Palin and the Battle for Feminism” in the Winter 2011 edition of City Journal ( If Mr. Streeter believes that orthodox, left-wing feminism still holds a monopoly on the American women’s movement, he was disproved on Nov. 4, 2010, when an unprecedented number of conservative, mostly Republican, women shattered numerous glass ceilings and entered American public office, and he is in for a rather rude awakening in November 2012.

Teen Homeschooler Helps Run ‘Youth For Palin’ Facebook Movement

Posted by Dr. Fay on April 14, 2011

Fifteen-year-old Madeleine McAulay is on a fast-track toward a political career.  The homeschooler is currently involved in the “Youth for Palin” movement and acts as an administrator of the group’s Facebookk page.  Kathy Blake at The Herald Weekly reports.

Local teen a political maven? You betcha

by Kathy Blake

It’s 10 a.m., and Madeleine McAulay is answering emails and returning phone calls. Later, she’ll squeeze in schoolwork from the six high school courses she’s taking online through Liberty University. It saves time, doing school at home.

But this morning, the subject is politics. Specifically, Sarah Palin’s politics and how the former Alaska governor’s platform on morality and values can be used to reach America’s youth.

Madeleine is involved in a movement called Youth for Palin, a growing collection of 15- to 21-year-olds who use Facebook to preach the conservative lifestyle Palin spoke of during her run for the vice presidency in 2008. She says it’s accumulated 161 members in a half-dozen states.

Madeleine had been up late, emailing Sen. Richard Burr and Rep. Sue Myrick, emphasizing her support and asking that they become aware of the Facebook cause, of which she is an administrator.

“I told them that I’m from their district and would love for them to be aware of our group,” she said.

Madeleine spent a week in March serving as a page in the lieutenant governor’s office, and she hopes to be a House and Senate page this summer. So much can be learned, serving hands-on.

But for all her worldly pursuits, there is this:

Madeleine is 15. She’s lives in Huntersville, in a house perched on land that’s been the family homestead for 150 years.

She’s a young girl who loves to tap dance. She baby sits. She admits to having “girlie stuff” in her bedroom. And she can’t vote in a presidential election until 2016.

So what.

“This next election, I will be old enough to intern, so I will try hard to do that,” she says. “I want to put that on my college application.”

Meanwhile, Madeleine is on fast-forward, researching, planning and using her ‘administrator’ title to post her beliefs.

Youth for Palin, Madeleine said, was started by a South Carolina man named Rollin Ross to “encourage our youth to understand the political world today.” It has spread to Iowa, New York, New Jersey and North Carolina. A contact in Iowa asked Madeleine to take on an admin role.

“I’m very proud of her,” said Madeleine’s dad, Beard McAulay., said “I’m encouraging her to explore everything that’s out there but at the same time to verify what she reads and make sure she can back up what she believes is right.”

Madeleine believes she ought to be a government attorney. She sees herself at 25 as graduating law school. “I’m a very prompt person. I like to know what I’m going to do, and when I’m going to do it, even years in advance,” she said. “This past election got me really interested. It stuns me, the way they crucified her (Palin). There was a little too much family involved in her politics.

“Even if you look back at (1984 vice presidential candidate) Geraldine Ferraro, they treated her the same way, even though she was on the other side of the political frame.”

Beard McAulay, 45, who owns ABM Data Solutions, said it was in about sixth-grade that Madeleine’s ambition grasped her. “It was like a switch that flipped. She was suddenly motivated to do well in everything she did,” he said. “Maybe being around good teachers and good siblings, but we have this thing about striving for excellence.”

Madeleine has a brother and sister in college. Her home schooling was a family decision, and they chose Liberty because of its Christian values and the program’s promptness in returning grades.

Trademark Approval Nears for Governor Palin’s and Bristol’s Names

Posted by Dr. Fay on April 14, 2011

Catalina Carnia at USA Today reports that Governor Palin’s and her daughter Bristol’s trademark applications are entering the final stage for approval with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Trademarks for Sarah, Bristol Palin head to approval

By Catalina Camia, USA TODAY

Updated at 1:40 p.m. ET

Sarah Palin and her daughter, Bristol, are a step closer to legally protecting their names.

Trademark applications for the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee and her 20-year-old daughter, a finalist last season on TV’s Dancing With the Stars, are entering the final stages in the federal government’s bureaucratic maze.

“Our understanding is everything is proceeding along towards approval,” John Tiemessen, an attorney for the Palins, told USA TODAY.

Documents filed at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office show the Palins’ applications have passed an initial review and are about to published, which would then give people who would be harmed by the trademark time to object and request a formal hearing.

Jay Dougherty, a law professor at Loyola Law School-Los Angeles, explains why celebrities trademark their names. “A person’s name is just descriptive of who they are,” he said, “but when a name is used to identify the source of services or goods, it can be used as a trademark.”

Sarah Palin, who is considering a 2012 presidential bid, has earned millions from her best-selling books. The ex-Alaska governor also receives fees for speaking engagements and is a paid contributor to Fox News.

Her trademark application states she is trying to protect her name to provide educational and entertainment services, namely “motivational speaking services in the field of politics, culture, business and values.”

Bristol Palin’s application says she is trying to provide “motivational speaking services in the field of life choices.”

Palin Attending Tea Party Rally In Wisconsin,The Scene Of Her Prosser Endorsement Triumph,This Weekend. UPDATE:Support Sarah In Comments Section

Posted by M.Joseph Sheppard At Palin4President2016 on April 14, 2011

UPDATE:Dem’s/unionists going full bore attack in the Journal-Sentinel comments section. Support Sarah at the link to the comments section.

UPDATE#2. Link to the comments section of the Journal-Sentinel

According to Conservatives4Palin she will be attending a Tea Party rally this Saturday in Madison Wisconsin.

Governor Palin Will Attend Tea Party Rally in Madison, Wisconsin this Saturday

Just heard from Wausau Tea Party director, Meg Ellefson that Sarah Palin will be speaking at this Saturday’s Tea Party Rally in Madison.Wisconsin

The rally officially starts at 12:00 pm.
This is significant  on a number of levels;
Palin was the only leading potential candidate who had the guts to endorse Judge Prosser in the contentious Wisconsin Supreme Court election against massive union/Dem support. It may be that her endorsement contributed significantly to Prosser’s apparent 7000 vote win  (the margin is usually much higher).
Her appearance shows where here heart is-nothing has changed, she believes in the values of the Tea Party whether or not other candidates distance themselves from that group
After a period of quiescence she is still very much in the running to run-even though the Beltway chattering class  have written her off. I have declared elsewhere that she will declare in June and am more than confident that will be the case.

Tony Lee: Top Ten Ways the GOP Establishment and Mainstream Media Try to Dissuade Sarah Palin From Running For President

Posted by joshpainter on April 14, 2011

– by Josh Painter
Wednesday Tony Lee listed ten signs that Sarah Palin is running for President. In today’s second installment of his series, Lee chronicles the top 10 ways the GOP establishment and the Democrat/Media Complex try to dissuade Gov. Palin from running. We’ve excerpted the first three:

1. Be a kingmaker (or queenmaker)

As noted by the likes of Grover Norquist and many other pundits and establishment Republicans, Palin, their reasoning goes, would best serve the party as a kingmaker. What they are essentially saying (try to follow the logic) is that Palin’s endorsement should be the gold standard but her candidacy would not be appreciated. Even more ironic is that should Palin run, it diminishes the kingmaking capabilities of the traditional and spoiled cast of characters who are used to getting their brass rings kissed every four years.

2. Make money and be a celebrity

Andrew Breitbart recently told GQ Magazine that Palin would give up the chance to be the next Oprah should she run for President. This line of “persuasion” has also been thrown out by many, which essentially says Palin should lose millions if she threw her hat into the 2012 ring.

But if Palin were the type of candidate who would run solely to increase her earning power, it would actually be her incentive to run for the presidency in 2012.

3. You’re too divisive

Another argument is that Palin would be too divisive to win a general election. And the only thing those who say this cite are polls released over a year before any voter of importance started paying attention to the election. In these early polls, there is probably some type of Palin effect (or a reverse-Bradley/Wilder effect), as Sheya at Conservatives4Palin noted, where voters either do not want to tell pollsters they support Palin for fear they would sound stupid or are withholding their potential support until she announces her candidacy, if she indeed does.

Further, as Pollinsider noted, Palin always has a strong floor, which potentially helps her in the primary (if the GOP primary has many entrants) and the general election (2012 may be a “base” election like 2004 where turnout matters, so the floor that Palin starts off with would give her significant advantages over other candidates who do not have that built in floor).

Tony Lee’s Top 10 Reasons Sarah Palin Is Running For President

Posted by Gary P Jackson on April 14, 2011

Will she or won’t she run for President?

I once laid out the reasons why Sarah Palin has a better shot of becoming president than Barack Obama did before Obama announced his candidacy during the 2008 election cycle.

And while conventional wisdom among the chattering class continues to lean against Palin mounting a presidential run, Palin has been courting the conservative base while not alienating swing voters in swing states such as Ohio, Colorado, and Florida better than any potential GOP contender.

Too often, those who cover Palin do not listen to her words or read her statements, Facebook postings, or tweets. As a result, conventional wisdom holds that Palin is setting herself up to be an entertainer, a conservative money maker, or a right-wing flame thrower who seeks only to rouse up the conservative base and get rich quick off of it. If those who proffer these theories had listened to and read her words closely, they would know that Palin has been telling everyone that she is running for president in 2012. Here are ten reasons why.

By Gary P Jackson

I’ll be honest, when I see these type of articles I usually flinch, because they are generally written poorly, or way off base. This is not the case with Tony Lee’s Top 10!

Writing for Human Events Lee lays out all of the signs that point to a run for the White House by Sarah Palin. We’ve been reporting on all of these events, and pretty much agree that Sarah will run, and win. She’s sitting back and getting her ducks in a row, while the wannabees get out there and look foolish. I know a lot of supporters are dying for her to go ahead and announce already, but she’s being prudent. Remember, Ronald Reagan didn’t enter the 1980 presidential race until the late fall of 1979.

We’ve become accustomed to presidential races that start early and drag on forever. There’s something to be said for waiting for the appropriate time and then going at it with everything you have.

Sarah Palin is an incredible strategist. This goes all the way back to her championship basketball days. She’s looking at the lay of the land right now, getting her game plan together. When she does announce, you can bet she will have a solid plan for victory. When Sarah Palin plays, she plays to win, and she’s said when she runs she will definitely be “in it to win it.”

As Sarah also is fond of pointing out that, as screwed up as things are now with Obama at the helm, it’s nothing a good old fashioned election won’t cure!

Check out Tony Lee’s Top 10 here. I think you’ll find he nails it.
