Jedediah Bila Sets the Palin Record Straight

Posted by Adrienne Ross on March 17, 2011

By Adrienne Ross –

Jedediah Bila, Human Events columnist, penned an excellent article today to set the record straight regarding Governor Palin’s accomplishments, qualifications, and policy positions. This is one of those pieces that is almost too good to excerpt. Be sure to read the entire piece here.

Jedediah writes:

It’s truly astonishing the lengths that some will go to in order to try to discredit Sarah Palin. Sure, the left-wing media loons are a given, but what about the folks on the Right who relentlessly brand her as unelectable, unintelligent, unpresidential, and/or unqualified? What is their basis for those assessments? And if she is so darn unelectable—why the need to consistently, near-obsessively attempt to tear her down?

What’s most interesting about the repeated attacks on Palin – from the Left and the Right – is that they are routinely empty. They are often featured in online hit pieces that are void of any reference to her record and/or her contributions over the past two years to discussions of national and international significance. They focus on absurd criticism of her TLC series, which so many elitists deemed anti-intellectual and so many regular Americans deemed relatable. They call her a “quitter” because she resigned from the governorship, but don’t reveal the reality that she was faced with numerous frivolous ethics charges made by political operatives that were costing her state hundreds of thousands of dollars and her staff countless hours to refute. The fact that she made the right decision for Alaska, and that the charges were all ultimately dismissed, get buried under the frenzied need some have to try to sabotage her at all costs.

And let’s not forget the manner in which the authors of these hit pieces so often compile every possible negative quotation on Palin they can find, particularly from the mouths of whom they consider to be the conservative intellectual elite. The quotes are typically nonsensical and/or erroneous, and mark embarrassing moments for those who uttered them, as they tend to reflect a complete lack of awareness of Palin’s accomplishments, writings, and outspoken stand on policy initiatives.

Jedediah then quotes Governor Palin’s commentary on President Obama’s 2012 budget proposal, Iran, energy, and quantitative easing–demonstrating that the critics who promote the lie that the Governor is all talk and no solutions couldn’t possibly be listening to her or reading her work, an obvious reality to anyone who is paying attention.

She continues:

With respect to those who label her “unqualified” for a presidential run, I ask, how so? A resume that features the roles of city council member, mayor, governor, small-business owner, chairwoman of the AK Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, and vice chairwoman of the National Governors Association Natural Resources Committee doesn’t fit your vision of “qualified”? Opening up drilling for oil and gas at Point Thomson for the first time in decades, reducing earmark requests for Alaska by more than 80%, establishing Alaska’s Petroleum Integrity Office to oversee safe energy development, investing $5 billion in state savings, reducing spending for Fiscal Year 2010 by more than $1 billion from Alaska Gov. Frank Murkowski’s FY 2007 budget, vetoing nearly half a billion dollars in wasteful spending, signing Alaska’s Clear and Equitable Share bill into law to incentivize development and to ensure that Alaskans would receive a “clear and equitable” share of oil profits, and actualizing the “Alaska Gasline Inducement Act”—the largest private sector infrastructure project in North American history—somehow make Sarah Palin “unqualified”?

The truth is that Sarah Palin is more than qualified to step up to the plate this 2012 election cycle if she so chooses. And as far as her “electability,” that decision rests with voters, not with those media and establishment voices who are decidedly desperate to shove her off the stage and to shape the 2012 presidential narrative.

Governor Palin Makes Statement about Israel Visit

Posted by Adrienne Ross on March 17, 2011

By Adrienne Ross –

As reported here and here, Governor Palin will speak at India Conclave 2011 this weekend. Before returning to the United States, she will visit Israel for two days, arriving Sunday.

Via SarahPAC:

Statement from Governor Palin on her upcoming trip to Israel.
Following her remarks in New Delhi, Governor Sarah Palin will stop in Israel before returning to the U.S. for a previously scheduled event.

“I’m thankful to be able to travel to Israel on my way back to the U.S.,” Governor Palin said. “As the world confronts sweeping changes and new realities, I look forward to meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu to discuss the key issues facing his country, our ally Israel.”

This is Governor Palin’s first international trip in three months. In December of 2010, she visited Haiti on a humanitarian mission with the Rev. Franklin Graham. In 2009, Gov. Palin traveled to Kosovo and Germany to visit U.S. troops as head of the Alaska National Guard and later addressed a conference of international investors in Hong Kong. Gov. Palin also visited the Middle East in 2007 when she traveled to Kuwait and Germany to meet with troops and conduct re-enlistment ceremonies.

If Palin Is Not The Nominee-Dem’s Will Reap the Whirlwind From Palin Unleashed

Posted by M.Joseph Sheppard At Palin4President2016 on March 17, 2011

One again the liberal forces show their short sighted stupidity, it seems the learned nothing from the Reagan years, by continuing on with their endless campaigns of hate, ridicule, mocking, lies and outright vilification of Sarah Palin.

If as the say Palin is stupid, dumb, vacuous, near illiterate, a grifter, an has-been, a quitter, and too polarizing to ever get the GOP nomination-much less win the presidency then why would they spend over two years wailing and gnashing their teeth at such a person who has, apparently, no hope whatsoever?

One would think that the pure logic of the situation would move the liberals to pump up Palin’s chances and praise her to the skies as the one to beat, the threat to Obama and etc, whilst pulling out all the stops to give her the best coverage possible. If she is such an easy beat and “would ensure Obama wins a second term in a landslide after he destroys her in the debates” then surely she would be the best candidate the Republican could possibly put up against Obama from the lefts point of view?

Something is wrong with the current political situation. Either the progressives are so imbued with blind hatred towards Palin that they are acting against their own best interests (as they see them) by attacking the easiest candidate to beat or, they recognize the danger she actually does present to Obama’s re-election and, whilst deprecating her by any means possible as a loser etc, are in reality afraid of her.

If blind hatred, caused by Palin’s dedication to life, her refusing to play the Beltway game, her independence of mind, her ability to attack the policies of President Obama then the left is making the exact same mistake they made with Ronald Reagan.

They used the same sarcastic, deprecating attack methods against him and lost three straight campaigns to the GOP. If using the tactic of attacking Palin as a spent force etc, whilst using this as a cover to try and block the one candidate they genuinely fear, the end result may be one of making a rod for their own backs.

If Palin decides to run and,due to the unrelenting media campaign against her she does not get the nomination the left will find they have unleashed a tiger they will certainly be unable to ride from tat point on. They will have sown the wind and will reap the whirlwind. If Palin was, as McCain described her in the 2008 campaign, “his spearhead” the sight of a Palin unleashed will be a sight to behold.

In the heat of the 2012 campaign Palin could, with her army of supporters, and the vast crowds she would gather for her campaign stops in support of the nominee, make the 2008 campaign seem a dolls picnic in comparison.

Freed from the constraints of handlers, of running for office herself, of having to “tack to the middle” and without caring about what the media says about her, whilst being financially independent and not having a political office to run, Palin, in full flight would make the Dem’s rue the day they tried to bring her down.

We will see the “Mama Grizzly” rearing up to majestic height, and in full roar, as she tackles the record of the Obama administration. Tackles the administrations lackey’s in the media, and most importantly calls out the president himself on his record, fearlessly, factually, and importantly whilst unable to be ignored.

The media have created their own worst nightmare in their short sighted policy of attack and will be repaid ten times over in their own coin by an unrestrained Palin in this scenario. They better pray she does get the nomination which would help to temper her righteous rebuttal to their despicable campaign against her

Sullivan So Excited Palin To Israel Calls Golda Meir “Attractive Women” Too

Posted by M.Joseph Sheppard At Palin4President2016 on March 17, 2011

In what I first thought was an “Onion” satire Andrew Sullivan has got so excited about Sarah Palin’s impending visit to Israel that his article includes spelling mistakesaccroding to current reports” but this is an astonishing sentence.

“There is something about an attractive woman wielding military force that reaches those parts of the psyche that no-drama Obama never will or can. Ask Thatcher or Meir (or Elizabeth I or Indira Gandhi).”

Now without being chauvinist at all and with the greatest respect I think, even allowing for the flush of excitement and hyperbole that one could call Golda Meir “an attractive woman” Palin, well yes, and frankly even Mrs. Gandhi is pushing it. Lets just give him the benefit of the doubt and define “attractive” as covering a persons whole persona rather than their physical appearance.

That said the painting of  Boadicea he provides to illustrate his breathless article  gives her an image which looks like a beauty queen, rather than a hard bitten Amazon, which belies the charitable interpretation of “attractive.”

Sullivan sees Palin’s visit as part of her apparent plan to hasten the end of the world, and the conversion or die plans for the Jews. He oddly concludes that a Palin presidency would be the unleashing of a “civilization war against Islam” …..which she would not hesitate to unleash.”

So Palin is now seen by the delusional as unleashing the end of the world, initiating world war three, and of course shooting wolves from a helicopter just for fun. An amazing repertoire for a housewife from Wasilla Alaska it must be said.

There is something odd going on  (or odder) in Sullivan’s world lately. Whenever the media pick out a poll to show Palin’s support is slipping, and it is all over for her, Sullivan comes out with a column which finds some glimmer of hope in it so he can keep pushing that she is still a front runner. Is there some deep thing in his psyche that wants an attractive woman wielding force to win?

Report:Palin To Visit Israel And Meet P.M. Netanyahu After India Visit

Posted by M.Joseph Sheppard At Palin4President2016 on March 17, 2011

Palin To Visit Israel And Meet P.M. Netanyahu After India Visit

The Jerusalem Post reports that Sarah Palin will visit Israel next week after her keynote address to a major conference in India.

One of the criticisms the left has thrown at Palin, especially during the 2008 election was that her foreign affairs experience was limited in their view. her visit to China and now these two upcoming major visits will put an end to that method of attack.

Palin is a strong friend of Israel and as Governor kept an Israeli flag in her office. She sees Israel as America’s friend and ally and has been critical of the Obama administrations diffident attitude to the country.

The Post reports :

” Palin’s visit will be private, but she will meet with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and other members of Israel’s right-wing, including Likud MK Danny Danon.
She was also expected to visit the Western Wall and Nazareth during her short stay.

Palin, an outspoken supporter of Israel, has often criticized the Obama administration for what she believes to be its unfair treatment of the Jewish State.

“As Israel makes concessions (and is still criticized by the Obama Administration), Arab leaders are just sitting back waiting for the White House to further pressure Israel. The Obama Administration needs to open its eyes and recognize that it is only Iran and her terrorist allies that benefit from this manufactured Israeli controversy,” Palin said in a Facebook ”

Critics: Griffin’s ‘Glee’ cameo ‘went over like a lead balloon’

Posted by joshpainter on March 17, 2011

– by Josh Painter
Bully “comic” Kathy Griffin, whose idea of quality material is to attack Sarah Palin’s children, made her appearance on the Fox hit show “Glee” this week. Sadly for the Palinophobes, the cameo, which had been hyped by gossip blogs and other Palin-hatin’ leftist websites, appears to have been a FAIL, even if not of EPIC proportions. At Mediaite, which is anything but a Sarah Palin fan site, Matt Schneider reports:

Given the rhetorical back and forth between Griffin and Palin, the cameo was highly anticipated, but went over like a lead balloon. EW’s television critic Ken Tucker called Griffin’s bit part “the evening’s dud moment in the episode written by show co-creator Ryan Murphy.” Tucker continued “It’s hard to believe that Murphy couldn’t come up with any better lines than, “I am not a witch” (a snicker at Christine O’Donnell) and ‘Obama is a terrorist.’”

While Glee plays with topical themes and hot-button opinions regularly, the hit show rarely enters political territory in such a blatant fashion. Yet given that Griffin’s appearance was so quick, many “Gleeks” (the term affectionately(?) describing fans of the show) probably didn’t even know who or what Griffin was attempting to mock. Especially since a line like “I twittered that Obama is a terrorist” likely takes a comedic backseat for most to fellow guest star Loretta Devine’s former stripper, who became a nun just because she needed a place to live.

Glee’s Executive Producer Ryan Murphy is a fairly brazen contributor to what some call the “culture war” dialogue, and it certainly seems like he and Griffin had conspired to score some cheap points by reducing Palin to a one-dimensional caricature. The irony is that this particular scene is far more likely to create good-will for the flagging former Governor because of an unfair portrayal, only fueling the notion that the “liberal Hollywood elite” are out to get Ms. Palin. Scenes like this make such a comment seem less a by-product of paranoia, and more of a legitimate case.

TIME’s TV critic James Poniewozik also panned Griffin’s potty-poor performance:

“Glee can be sharp and topical enough that I thought it could actually do something clever with the much-publicized cameo. Instead, the performance hinged on expected gags (‘I am not a witch’) and Griffin delivered it all with a stiffness that felt more like a recitation than a performance. As one line in the judges’ deliberations said, I mostly felt pandered to. (And I can only guess what Glee’s conservative viewers—and to anticipate the response, Glee has conservative viewers—would have thought.)”

And Entertainment Weekly’s Ken Tucker quipped:

“In an otherwise above-average episode of Glee, the much-publicized appearance of Kathy Griffin guest-starring as a Sarah Palin parody fell as flat as Brittany’s speaking voice… Palin has called the comedian a ‘bully,’ but after seeing Griffin meekly recite a lame joke about gay rights not being in the Constitution, the former Alaska governor must be feeling pretty cheery…”

Even critic Matt Richenthal at TV Fanatic, who was hoping for “some good Sarah Palin mockery,” had to admit that Griffin’s “Glee” appearance:

“…felt shoved in and out of place here, like producers lost a bet to Kathy Griffin and had to pay up via such a cameo.”

Heh. Looks like it’s back to the D-list for has-been never-was, no-talent, no-class Griffin.
