Sarah Palin: Iron Dogs Roarin’

Posted by Sarah Palin Web Brigade on February 22, 2011

Governor Palin’s Facebook Note:

Sarah Palin

Iron Dogs Roarin’

by Sarah Palin on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 4:21pm

It’s no secret I’m cheering for Team #11 in this year’s Iron Dog race! Todd and his racing partner Eric Quam are doing very well and helping lead the pack as they’ll soon be near the 1000-mile half-way point in Nome. They’ve been breaking trail through three feet of new snow! All these athletes are rugged and tough. Please keep all the racers in your prayers.

On a side note, there’s always buzz about fake Sarah Palin Facebook and Twitter accounts. Please know that this is my only authentic Facebook account and SarahPalinUSA is my only authentic Twitter account. Pay no attention to the fake accounts and their fake messages.

News: Governor Sarah Palin Visits Task Force Arctic Eagle Soldiers in Kosovo

69th Public Affairs Detachment

Story by Sgt. 1st Class Paul Wade

Governor Sarah Palin Visits Task Force Arctic Eagle Soldiers in KosovoSoldiers from the ‘Land of the Midnight Sun’ got a huge morale boost when Alaska’s governor, Sarah Palin, and the state’s adjutant general, Maj. Gen. Craig Campbell, trekked the approximately 5,000 miles to see their National Guard troops from the 49th state and to show their support for the service members of the Multi-National Task Force-East KFOR 11 mission.

“Our Soldiers are America’s heroes and I want to do whatever I can do to show them support and take the time to do so, to travel and to see them,” said Palin, who became Alaska’s 11th governor in November 2006 and the first female to be elected.

The 130 troops, assigned to 1st Battalion, 207th Aviation Regiment, who wear the patch depicting the stars of the Big Dipper and the North Star, form the bulk of Task Force Arctic Eagle, who’s main contribution to keeping the peace in the Kosovo region is commanding the skies with their UH-60 Black Hawks.

“I truly appreciate you from the bottom of my heart. I have such a sincere, great appreciation for all that you are doing to serve your state and your country,” said Palin.

Camp Bondsteel Soldiers welcomed with smiles, flash bulbs and a whirlwind tour. That evening she met with senior leadership hosted by the commanding general of MNTF-E, Brig. Gen. Keith Jones, and was briefed on the current situation in the eastern sector. The next morning Palin was treated to a unique breakfast of pancakes and smoked salmon by her fellow Alaskans and to hear what the rank and file had on their minds.

“[The governor] is real down-to-earth and as a mother of a teenager, she is someone I can relate to,” said 1st Lt. Sarah Payeur, Task Force Arctic Eagle, aviation liaison officer, 1-207th Avn. Regt. “With her son in the Army, serving in Iraq, she completely understands what we are going through and to me that is important when it comes to knowing what family support is all about,” said the Eagle River, Alaska native.

Following a meet-and-greet opportunity, interested service members at the CBS theater, Gov. Palin and the Alaskan delegation were whisked away to visit a Task Force Artic Eagle adopt-a-school program in the nearby town of Ferizaj/Urosevac.

“I think it is great what our troops are doing in helping these students learn English,” said Palin, who took a sidewalk tour of the town with one of the students, Albana Mani, who explained what the program is all about. The teenagers learned more about her during an exercise that involved reading and answering questions about her biography.

“We are very proud of our program and to show it off to the governor was an honor. It was important to let her see how we interact with the local community, to let her know the impact we are having with these students,” said Spc. Robert Sapp, a chaplain’s assistant with the 1-207th Avn. Regt., from Anchorage.

The tour of her short visit wound down when she returned to the flight line of CBS and took part in the pinning of newly promoted Soldiers and awarding achievements.

“The characteristics that you all embody; your self-determination and self-sufficiency, combined with teamwork that is needed in order to get the job done. You embody that. You have that discipline and tenacity and that patriotism that I pray our younger generation will adopt. Our country will be better off if we have more of you out there serving something greater than self,” concluded Palin.

“It was an honor to host Gov. Palin for her visit to Camp Bondsteel. The Soldiers were elated to see her and appreciated that she made the long trip from Alaska to show her appreciation for their service,” said Maj. Matthew Schell, the 1-207th’s acting battalion commander.

Media Makes Themselves Look Even More Silly With Their “Anyone But Palin” Campaign

Posted by M.Joseph Sheppard At Palin4President2016 on February 22, 2011

They are dogged, the media, and you have to give them credit for digging in with blindfolds on.

In their “anyone but Palin” obsession, which level it surely is at, the media are absolutely determined to ignore what the person in the street is actually saying, as these are the hoi polloi and they don’t know what is good for themselves.

You would search high and low to find any media reports whatsoever regarding the poll results which support Palin because they don’t meet with the plan the media has. In spite of poll after poll of grass roots Republicans and thousands of conservative blog readers who responded to such polls, who chose Palin/Huckabee overwhelmingly-up to 40% of the vote, well above double Romney’s and daylight between their result and the media darlings such as Thune/Pawlenty/Daniels/Christie and the 26 ‘candidates’ they have managed to push at one point or another.

Their plan is, of course, to foist on the party the candidate acceptable to the Beltway, East/West Coast cabal. ”A Bob Dole type is what is needed” they advise. What they are determined about on the other hand is that, in the view from Olympus where the elite mind resides, Palin has committed the unpardonable sin of not sucking up to them and is therefore to be discarded.

Who to choose to be their sacrificial lamb for Obama? Nothing is more certain that, as with McCain in 2008, once they have settled on “their” nominee and he is safely nominated, they will turn on him with a vengeance as part two of their plans going forward . Heaven help the candidate whose past will be worked through with the finest of fine tooth combs for every bit of scandal they can dig up or invent. Palin of course is fireproof as they have done everything possible to destroy and have failed So far they have touted Romney as “the next in line-which schedule the GOP always follows”.

Needless to say the GOP does not always follow the next in line program and anyway surely the Vice-presidential candidate is more “next in line’ than the one who finished in third place for the nomination. Even Blind Bob can see that Romney is going nowhere and the rank and file will not support him outside of New Hampshire.

This is a terrible disappointment to the media as Romney would be the ideal “Bob Dole” losing candidate they could chew up and spit out-or more likely ignore as they carry Obama majestically in a sedan chair to the finish line.

Next they turned to Chris Christie .Outspoken but in a favorite Uncle sort of way. From an Eastern state, laughs with the boys, liberal in his social attitudes and-best of all-attacked Palin. Tragically for them, and as hard as they try to ignore his statements, he is absolutely committed to not running. But that doesn’t stop the headlines encouraging him “Christie Lights a Fuse Under GOP Lawmakers” What to do?

Thune looks like he is not running, Pawlenty has not traction-but just when things look gloomy and some media types seem actually reconciled to Palin they discover Mitch Daniels as their new hero. Article after article sings his praises “It’s Mitch Daniels Moment” the man who is “many moves ahead on the chess board” Best of all his calling for “a truce on social issues” is seen as a clever move which, instead of alienating the base is so clever that the “truce” is not a “surrender” rather it will only last until he wins the nomination and becomes president.

These media people have their heads so far up their backsides, in their anyone but Palin PDS, they have lost all sense if they think the rank and file will swallow that nonsense. Perhaps in sensing they are on a hiding to nothing with the latest Christie/Daniels bandwagon, the media is creating the brand new GOP nominee, Wisconsin’s embattled Governor Scott Walker. “If Walker wins the battle he could be the GOP’s 2012 nominee” they trumpet “Run Walker Run”.

To reinforce their new position-Chris Christie gets thrown under the bus “Walker actually does what Christie says he would” That is actually a good read because it illustrates exactly what will happen to any nominee besides Palin-they will get ripped to shreds, yes even Christie for all his bellicosity-in fact what they show as his strongest asset will be torn apart in the name of “civility”

They are so transparent it is all rather sad. At the end of the day it will be the GOP delegates who chose the nominee-not the media and the elite talking heads like Krauthammer and Rove, and right now the polls say it is Palin they want.

Posted by Gary P Jackson on February 22, 2011

How Ronald Reagan handled the strike by air traffic control workers in 1981. This is a powerful speech, which was given on August 3, 1981, and as history shows, Reagan made good on his promise to fire anyone who didn’t return to work.

Dave Westlake Reads Sarah Palin’s Letter To Union Workers In Madison Wisconsin

Posted by Gary P Jackson on February 21, 2011

By Gary P Jackson

Dave Westlake reads Sarah Palin’s powerful letter to union members at the Tea Party counter rally in Madison, Wisconsin. The mere mention of her name has the crowd cheering loudly, as they do again and again as Westlake reads from the letter.

We must all stand with Wisconsin’s Common Sense Conservative Governor and legislature, who are trying to get a grip on out of control government. These out of control unions must be stopped or the nation will fall.

Gallup: Americans Say Ronald Reagan Is the Greatest U.S. President

Posted by Gary P Jackson on February 21, 2011

By Gary P Jackson

Confirming what we have always known, the latest Gallup polling says Americans feel that Ronald Reagan was our nation’s greatest President.

PRINCETON, NJ — Ahead of Presidents Day 2011, Americans are most likely to say Ronald Reagan was the nation’s greatest president — slightly ahead of Abraham Lincoln and Bill Clinton. Reagan, Lincoln, or John F. Kennedy has been at the top of this “greatest president” list each time this question has been asked in eight surveys over the last 12 years.

Presidents Day, celebrated on the third Monday of February each year, officially commemorates the Feb. 22 birthday of George Washington. The country’s first president is not regarded by Americans as the nation’s greatest president, however. Gallup’s Feb. 2-5 update shows that Washington comes in fifth on the list, behind Reagan, Lincoln, Clinton, and Kennedy.

In the eight times Gallup has asked this same “greatest president” question over the last 12 years, one of three presidents — Lincoln, Reagan, and Kennedy — has topped the list each time. Reagan was the top vote getter in 2001, 2005, and now 2011. Lincoln won in 1999, in two 2003 surveys, and in 2007. Kennedy was on top in 2000, and tied with Lincoln in November 2003.

You can read the complete poll results here.

Our prayers are with Todd Palin and teammate Eric Quam, for their safety and their success, as they trek across the Alaskan wilderness in this year’s Iron Dog competition.

The Associated Press reports:

Todd Palin is participating in the world’s longest snowmobile race, with his famous wife on hand to see him off at the start.

Palin and his racing partner took off late Sunday morning in the 2,000-mile Iron Dog. Palin is a four-time champion of the Alaska race, which ends in Fairbanks.

Seeing him off was his wife, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2008 vice presidential nominee. Also on hand were daughters Bristol and Piper.
