Post CPAC Straw Poll: Sarah Palin And Allen West Are “Winning The Future” … Big Time!

Posted by Gary P Jackson on February 17, 2011

By Gary P Jackson

After the circus at CPAC, including the embarrassment of Ron Paul winning yet another straw poll, a reality check is sorely needed.

As usual, Ron Paul’s political action committee purchased large blocks of tickets to CPAC, reselling them at a serious loss, so his rowdy bunch could get to DC and vote for him. This is standard operating procedure for the good doctor. Mitt Romney, who finished second, has been known to buy a straw poll or two himself.

With that in mind, Patrick Ishmael over at Hot Air put together a straw poll of his own. We don’t normally report on online polls, but Patrick took extra care to make sure there was only one vote per customer. While not a scientific poll, it does a great amount of enthusiasm for Sarah Palin, among readers of one of the top center-right websites.

Sarah garnered 37 percent of the votes, with the closest competitor, Chris Christie, coming in a very distant second at 11%.

Maintaining her position from our last poll in December, Sarah Palin again stomps the Hot Air Presidential field by a wide and comfortable margin.

[ …. ]

Since this latest poll was initially faced with a fair amount of ACORN-style fake-votery, let me say up front that Palin’s numbers are absolutely legitimate: her block of voters is one of the most active on the web, and they turned out in force for this survey.

In second place is Chris Christie, who also fell in behind Palin in December. Third place is, surprisingly, Mitch Daniels, doubling his percentage take from 5% of the vote last time to 10% this time. A surprising fourth place also goes to Herman Cain, the only candidate really in the race right now, at 8%. I think there’s little doubt that Daniels and Cain benefited from a sort of CPAC-bounce; Christie, still a GOP rock star, may have been hurt by being out of the limelight in the last couple of months. Mitt Romney comes in at fifth, slightly strengthening over his last showing, from 5% to 6%.

Besides the obvious “who do you want to be President?” question, Patrick crafted some interesting side questions as well. One of those asked: “How committed are you to your candidate?“:

Online zeal does not necessarily make for eventual Presidents, but it may say something about commitment and a little about the size of the movement. (But not always.) Sarah Palin’s numbers bear out both of these points, notably the former one; while 54% of the average candidate’s supporters consider themselves “very committed” backers, 82% of Sarah Palin voters consider themselves “very committed.”

This is an interesting metric. It confirms what most Palin supporters already knew. Once you join the team, you are not likely to look at other options. Sarah Palin’s long record of success, and compelling history, translates into strong support. The kind that will work hard in 2012 to make things happen.

Something else. Since the other candidate’s strongest supporters barely break the 50% mark, the chances for Sarah Palin to pick up even more support, once she starts actually campaigning is very good. Better than the rest, for certain.

The poll also asks who should be Vice President. This wasn’t close either, nor surprising. Allen West is the overwhelmingly choice for her Vice President!.

That would make for quite the formidable ticket.

Check out all of the results from the poll here.

  2. This is Amir Saihee formerly known as Prince Saihee weighing in on the subject at hand. If indeed Mrs. Palin decieds to throw her hat into the ring, myself being a Tea Party member and a former Democrate (who is unpleased with the change that I was promised by President Obama)can see Mr. Allen West as a viable Running Mate espicially with his background in Teaching and his Millitary background. In fact here is a little something that I penned back in “07” and sent it to then President Bush since then I have edited as a rebuttle to those boobs over at NBC’s Meet The Press who had the nerve to blam Mrs. Palin for the tragedy in Tuson thank you.

This is my rebuttle to the episode of the Meet The Press when they blamed Mrs. Sarah Palin for the tragedy in Tuson.

Hypothesis: A lack of a solid connection with God.

Proof: The voice that comes from with in a human being is widely accepted to be one’s conscience or if you will, a sense of morality.

    Example:

When having to make a major life decision there is usually an inner voice that tells us what to do. When we don’t take heed and follow someone else’s lead and it doesn’t work out for the best we will often say I should have followed my first mind.
When taking a written examination and we have multiple choice answers and we think that we know the right answer, but we change our original answer. Then when we get the test back and we realize that we had the right answer the first time we will think I should have followed my first mind.

What are the common denominators of those who perpetrate shooting sprees:
    Teenagers mostly male.
    Lack a sense of purpose.
Most often primarily educated in public school systems.
Public schools teach Evolution through Darwin’s theory.
Thus not allowing a connection with God to be established.
As religion is not part of the curriculum.
During these times of single parent homes and young parents still enjoying their youth (their social life).
Parents lean on or depend on the school system to instill basic knowledge and morals in their children.
In some cases in single parent homes their children get more attention or quality time with adults at school than at home.

Reasoning: How can a human being be complete and be lead by an ape? I know that we all have a right to believe in a Supreme Being or not to.

Having said that it’s not about religious preference, it’s about believing in a Supreme Being, to have a conscience connection with God, and have his presence in your life. So that you will have an inner voice, and know that it comes from your connection with your Supreme Being no matter which name you call on Him by, a voice that will tell you right from wrong, good from bad, and fair from foul.

    Possible solutions at schools:
Stronger safe guards at points of entry.
Metal detectors at all public schools
    Roving patrols
A study by each school districts Administrations Office.
To see if the teaching of Evolution plays any bearing on our children’s moral value or lack there of.

To further illuminate on the Psych aspect, the Mental Illness Industry and how the Industry pushes Psyco Tropic Medicines on the Mentally Ill just to control those who recieve SSI. With the possible punisment of those who refuse such medications either locked away in an Asylum or removed them from recieving SSI. It leaves one to ponder, are the Psychiatrists in cahoots with the Pharmacautical Companies, as there is no known cure for Mental Illness. With all the yet to be determine side effects ie, Cancer, Heart Failure. Not to mention the more benign side effects tremors, involentary motor functions that the Psych Patient has no control over leaving them ostracized by society. With some not all Case Mangers just as unconcerned about their Clients real needs and concerns. It begs me to uncover and bring to light the miss use and abuse of those unable to fend for themselves.

Final summation: After all that has been said and done on this subject it still comes back to our value system here in America, we place in God we trust on the back of our money, and in the Pledge Of Allegiance (which has all but been fazed out of the Homeroom)it states “We are one Nation under God indivisible with Liberty and Justice for all. Then we like to boast about being the Greatest Nation in the World, and the voice of morality, so much so our Government would like to see our way of life emulated around the world. With that power to enforce our will on others whether through diplomacy or war there is a certain amount of scrutiny that we must place on ourselves so if we want to be viewed as the Greatest Nation we better square ourselves away or we might just find ourselves hated on because of our way of life.

God bless us one and all.
    Sincerely
Michael A. Robinson , AKA Amir Saihe
