Has George Will Gone PDS Mad? “Palin Can’t Win Because She Can’t Win Outside Chicago”

Thanks to Mediate for the ABC clip of George Will;
The Blue Blood Elites have so far succumbed to PDS that they have lost all reason. How an experienced commentator of so many years standing such as George Will can say-seriously-that Palin can’t be elected president because she can’t win the “collar” counties outside Chicago and Philadelphia is an absolute mystery.
Clearly the Beltway elite is so befuddled by the phenomenon that is Palin, of the like they have never experienced before, i.e. she won’t bow down to them, that they have lost all reason. Certainly one thing is clear, their prognostications can be safely ignored.
Putting aside the fact that Senator Toomey from Pennsylvania advises;
that yes,she can win that state, the map below shows clearly that she has no need whatsoever of winning either or both of Illinois or Pennsylvania. The mainstream American voters in the South and Midwest, plus Ohio would be enough to see her through.

Whether she can or can’t win remains to be seen. Clearly, she’s the “best” candidate in terms of her positions and integrity. Look at Reagan! It took quite a while for both the Republican party and the general electorate to “warm up” to him. The country is even more Democratic now than it was at that time, for 3 reasons. African-American people in this country are over 90% Democratic. This is not likely to change, and certainly not in the next election, with President Obama up for re-election. The Democratic party has, more or less, successfully lured Hispanics, with the implied promise of amnesty for their countrymen and a favorable future political climate in America for Hispanics in general. The majority of women in America will not vote for her because they feel “empowered” by the privilege of legalized abortion. This is a statistical fact. Women candidates who are pro-life are literally considered “crazy” by the liberal media, which still influences Independents, as well, and certainly by women, in general (exhibit Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell!). Lastly, and most importantly, conservatives are not truly united. Economic-political conservatives are not as comfortable with a Social Conservative (such as Gov. Palin) because they doubt their (social conservatives) electability.
Therefore, Gov. Palin’s battle would definitely be an “uphill” one! That is not to say that it is impossible or that we should not support her (I know I do!). It is just to say that it may be a long road and that we should be prepared for this uphill struggle!!!!!

Stuart you make a number of points;
1.” The country is even more Democratic”- the 2010 elections would put a different picture on that-also see the article on the history of presidential elections.
2.It doesn’t matter how strong the Black vote for Obama is because if in NY or California it won’t make any difference. Only Virginia and North Carolina will be in play as regards how the Black turnout may affect the result in 2012.They will be competitive but certainly winnable for Palin
3. The Hispanic vote is certainly not as monolithic as the Black vote-witness Rubio/Martinez.Again, it won’t matter in NY/Cal.It will make Florida and the Southwest competitive but that didn’t stop Rubio/Brewer winning and Palin doesn’t need N. Mexico/Nevada (see the map in the previous entry.)
