“Mighty Fine” Ratings Increase for 5th Episode of ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska’

Posted by Dr. Fay on December 14, 2010

Vodpod videos no longer available.

The Broadsheet blog at the Sarah Palin’s Alaska website had this to say about the ratings for Sunday night’s show:

Ratings for Sarah Palin’s Alaska jumped up by 11% (about 300,000 more viewers this week), bringing the total number of viewers for last night’s episode up to about 3.1 million. In addition to this increase in the total number of eyes on TLC during the episode, it was also a greater number of the specific kind of eyes television networks are usually looking for; according to the Nielsen ratings, they posted big gains in all key demographics.

This, of course, was what was expected to happen with the exciting event of the Kate Plus 8 family making a guest appearance on the program. When you look at the program overall, it continues to be a bit of an unpredictable beast in its ratings curve, but it seems as though every time critics of the show attempt to say the show’s on its way out (despite the fact that it always gets huge numbers) they’re proven wrong as the next week’s numbers shoot up again.
