Lt Col Dick Muri, A Common Sense Conservative Who Can Win, With Your Help

Posted by Gary P Jackson on October 21, 2010

By Gary P Jackson

Dick Muri is yet another Common Sense Conservative who has been quietly taking on an entrenched incumbent Washington State democrat, off the national radar.

Even though Muri has been outspent 6:1, and his democrat opponent has been running wildly untrue attack ads against him, Real Clear Politics has rated this race a toss-up. Taking into consideration that most polls over-sample democrats, and the fact that even in dark blue Washington State, enthusiasm for common sense over the democrat agenda is off the charts, this is a winnable race.

From our friends on the ground in Washington:

Ret. Lt Col Dick Muri is within 3 points of 14 yr Democrat “Pelosi rubber stamped” incumbent Adam Smith in Washington States 9th Congressional District race.

With your help we can take this seat!! The race has moved to a tossup!

Adam Smith has a 6:1 fund raising advantage. He is flooding the TV stations, including Fox news channel with an attack ad with false information about Dick Muri.

In Smith’s ads, he is selling himself as an “Independent Voice” and “Fiscal Hawk“. Nowhere does it say the word “Democrat” much less that he has voted with Pelosi 96% of the time.

Here’s a Tacoma News Tribune editorial that debunks the lies in Adam Smith’s Attack ads against Dick Muri.

Lt. Col. Muri has been endorsed by Sarah Palin as one of the Combat Veterans For Congress, a program designed to help our bravest who have wanted to continue their service to our nation, as members of Congress.

From Muri:

Mary Muri and I were invited to be honored as one of twenty Combat Veterans for Congress endorsed candidates on the 9th of October in San Diego, California. Sarah Palin was one of the guest speakers at this fund raising gala event.

We had a few minutes to talk to her and have our picture taken. Governor Palin first words were “we need to get you and Dino Rossi elected“. I told her I was born in the Territory of Alaska in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1953. She immediately calculated the date and said, “was your father serving in the Air Force during the Korean War“?

She was 100% correct, as my father was serving at Ladd Air Force Base in Alaska for two years, went home for a quick one week leave to Framingham, MA to get married. Married my mom on 22 March 1953 and I was born 9 months later!

My mom waited 4 months until Airman 2nd class Joe Muri could get housing and moved to Fairbanks in July 1953 four months pregnant! Sarah Palin greeted all 20 of us Combat Veteran Candidates with enthusiasm and nice humor

I agree with Sarah, we need to get Dino Rossi and Dick Muri elected. We can do it, but we need your help. Again, Muri is being outspent 6:1 by a typical democrat who has no problem smearing his competition with lies, even after major publications in the state have called him out. It seems a democrat is a democrat is a democrat. They all must go!

In that spirit, I’d like to announce the Dick Muri Money Bomb!

As this is Washington’s 9th District, we’re asking everyone who can to send $9 (or more) to Dick’s campaign:

https://dickmuri.com/donation

This is a winnable race, and a win in deep blue Washington State will send an even stronger message to the Obama regime. Adding another strong Common Sense Conservative to Congress will have the added bonus of sending a message to the GOP elites as well. Both will know doing business as usual is finished. Not going to happen!

Learn more about Dick Muri and his campaign at his website: http://dickmuri.com/

You can also follow Dick on Facebook and Twitter.

Here is Dick’s latest video ad:

There’s a whole lot of races out there and a whole lot of activity in the final weeks of this most important election season, but of all of the wins, this will be one of the sweetest.

We can send a Common Sense Conservative, in place of a radical democrat, to become a member of the 112th Congress from one of the bluest states in the nation. That will be a sweet victory indeed.

Send your donation of $9 (or more) today.

I don’t know about y’all, but I’m ready to party like it’s ‘94 …. 1894!

Rasmussen: A Sarah Palin Endorsement Is The Breath Of Life, From Obama, The Kiss Of Death

Posted by Gary P Jackson on October 21, 2010

By Gary P Jackson

You know that lie the corrupt lame stream media keeps telling you, the one that says Sarah Palin is “toxic“? Well, it seems the latest LSM lie to be debunked comes our way from Scott Rasmussen.

According to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey, 29% of Likely Voters say an endorsement from the president is the one most likely to make them vote for a candidate.

But even more (45%) say Obama is the politician who makes them least likely to vote for a candidate he endorses.

This explains why every time Obama shows up to campaign for a candidate, they lose. This is in sharp contrast to candidates Sarah has endorsed, many whom were lost in crowed fields, and have gone on to win, and win big. There’s more:

When it comes to an endorsement as a negative, 25% say one from Palin makes them least likely to support a candidate. Nineteen percent (19%) say the same of Bush, while three percent (3%) and two percent (2%) respectively feel that way about Biden and Clinton.

Considering the amount of effort the corrupt media has expended trying to create the “toxic” narrative around Sarah, and generating hate for Bush, those numbers are pretty respectable.

I can get the numbers for Biden and Clinton as well. Though their ideology is extreme and flawed, they are generally likable sorts compared to radicals like Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and so on.

Here’s an interesting statistic though, and seems about right:

Interestingly, however, only 18% of voters say it is at least somewhat important to their vote when celebrities or politicians from outside their state campaign on behalf of a local candidate. That includes six percent (6%) who say it is Very Important.

Eighty percent (80%), on the other hand, don’t attach importance to an outside endorsement, with 38% who say it is Not At All Important.

Voters not affiliated with either of the major parties attach the least importance to outsiders campaigning for local candidates.

This rings true with most people I know. Although we certainly celebrate when a candidate gets backed by someone we respect, like Sarah Palin. I think that boils down to her track record and ability to judge and pick superior candidates. Pretty sure others feel the same when it comes to the one or two people’s judgment they truly trust. But for the most part, sophisticated voters do their own research to find a candidate worthy of their support.

I think, what an endorsement by a respected leader like Sarah Palin does, is at least have you take a look at her candidate, and research them further, rather than just blindly vote for the candidate. She’s certainly the leader when it comes to raising a candidate’s profile, giving them name recognition.

Rasmussen goes on:

Fifty-two percent (52%) of Likely Voters say their own views are closer to Palin’s than they are to Obama’s. Forty percent (40%) say their views are closer to the president’s.

Forty-eight percent (48%) of voters now regard Obama’s political views as extreme, while 42% place his views in the mainstream.

In a survey last December, 79% of voters said most politicians are more concerned with getting reelected than in doing what is right.

Voters believe overwhelmingly that politicians don’t keep their promises, and most say it’s deliberate.

We were excited when Obama made a trip to Delaware, and are even more excited he is going to Nevada, California, and Washington state. As this polling shows, he may be one of the Republican Party’s best assets this election season.

Governor Palin Shows Juan Williams More Graciousness Than He Ever Showed Her

Posted by Adrienne Ross on October 21, 2010

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

NPR fired Juan Williams Wednesday night for expressing his nervousness when on a plane with people who choose to identify themselves first as Muslims. For this he gets fired. This is what the Left does to people who don’t follow their agenda: silence them by any means necessary. Juan Williams was speaking for himself. Truth be told, he simply voiced a feeling that many Americans share. It’s called being honest.

The hypocrisy of the Left is disgusting. MSNBC, for example, makes reprehensible comments about conservatives, particularly Governor Palin and tea party Americans, and people on their side of the aisle couldn’t care less. Christians and their values are mocked by the Left daily, and nothing is said. We all know if Juan Williams had said Christians make him nervous, or tea partiers are dangerous, he would have been applauded rather than fired. But voicing his own nervousness when encountering Muslims on a plane gets him fired. That’s Liberals for you–and that’s the hypocrisy to which they are married. NPR is more desirous of political correctness than truth from their employees, having no respect, apparently, for First Amendment rights.

I’m no fan of Juan Williams, and I take umbrage at the disrespectful, sexist comments he’s made about Governor Palin (see video), but NPR was out of line to fire him. Where were they when given the opportunity to denounce his sexist comments about the Governor? This firing is just further evidence of the Left’s glaring hypocrisy and intolerance for anything that opposes their agenda. His association with Fox News has long been a thorn in their side, and his recent comments when speaking to Bill O’Reilly, gave them the excuse they needed to send him packing. This is the real deal behind all this. NPR, in bed with George Soros and receiving tax-payer dollars, clearly has an agenda. Like all Liberals, NPR wants to silence conservative media, like Fox News, because they have no respect for free speech whatsoever. More disturbing, this love affair the Left has cultivated with political correctness is going to lead us down a most dangerous road if unchecked.

Governor Palin, modeling true graciousness and class, has come out in support of Williams in spite of how he has treated her. She showed her support on Twitter several times today. Here are a few of those tweets:

1. NPR defends 1st Amendment Right, but will fire u if u exercise it. Juan Williams: u got taste of Left’s hypocrisy, they screwed up firing you

2. Juan Williams: Going Rogue. NPR should receive NO fed tax dollars if it operates as intolerant, private radio. Mr. President, what say you?

3. NPR & LSM: you’re shocked at public outrage over your censorship of Juan? This is what happens when our Constitution starts shaking her fist

Governor Palin followed up her many tweets with a Facebook note, joining others who are calling for the defunding of NPR:

At a time when our country is dangerously in debt and looking for areas of federal spending to cut, I think we’ve found a good candidate for defunding. National Public Radio is a public institution that directly or indirectly exists because the taxpayers fund it. And what do we, the taxpayers, get for this? We get to witness Juan Williams being fired from NPR for merely speaking frankly about the very real threat this country faces from radical Islam.

[…]

I don’t expect Juan Williams to support me (he’s said some tough things about me in the past) – but I will always support his right and the right of all Americans to speak honestly about the threats this country faces. And for Juan, speaking honestly about these issues isn’t just his right, it’s his job. Up until yesterday, he was doing that job at NPR. Firing him is their loss.

If NPR is unable to tolerate an honest debate about an issue as important as Islamic terrorism, then it’s time for “National Public Radio” to become “National Private Radio.” It’s time for Congress to defund this organization.

Read Governor Palin’s full Facebook note here.

Why is this far-Left radio network being funded by our tax-payer dollars anyway? Looks like it’s time for a change, and NPR has just dug itself a hole they may not be able to get out of. I hope calling attention to themselves simply because they hate Juan Williams’ connection to Fox News was worth it because people are not going to let this go. NPR may have just cost itself some federal dollars. And to that, I say, “Well, it’s about time.”

I repeat: I’m not a fan of Juan Williams. I am a fan of truth, however. The truth is this: once again, the Left displays its intolerance, hypocrisy, and utter depravity. And once again, Governor Palin extends graciousness to one who has been none too gracious toward her.

Sarah Palin: Defund NPR Until It Allows Free Discussion of Jihadist Threat

Posted by Dr. Fay on October 21, 2010

Transcript of Governor Palin’s Facebook Note:

Juan Williams: Going Rogue

by Sarah Palin on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 10:45am

At a time when our country is dangerously in debt and looking for areas of federal spending to cut, I think we’ve found a good candidate for defunding. National Public Radio is a public institution that directly or indirectly exists because the taxpayers fund it. And what do we, the taxpayers, get for this? We get to witness Juan Williams being fired from NPR for merely speaking frankly about the very real threat this country faces from radical Islam.

We have to have an honest discussion about the jihadist threat. Are we not allowed to say that Muslim terrorists have killed thousands of Americans and continue to plot the deaths of thousands more? Are we not allowed to say that there are Muslim states that aid and abet these fanatics? Are we not allowed to even debate the role that radical Islam plays in inciting this violence?

I don’t expect Juan Williams to support me (he’s said some tough things about me in the past) – but I will always support his right and the right of all Americans to speak honestly about the threats this country faces. And for Juan, speaking honestly about these issues isn’t just his right, it’s his job. Up until yesterday, he was doing that job at NPR. Firing him is their loss.

If NPR is unable to tolerate an honest debate about an issue as important as Islamic terrorism, then it’s time for “National Public Radio” to become “National Private Radio.” It’s time for Congress to defund this organization.

NPR says its mission is “to create a more informed public,” but by stifling debate on these issues, NPR is doing exactly the opposite. President Obama should make clear his commitment to free and honest discussion of the jihadist threat in our public debates – and Congress should make clear that unless NPR provides that public service, not one more dime.

Mr. President, what say you?

Sarah Palin: Don’t Elect Politicians Who Will Lock Up Our Natural Resources

Posted by Dr. Fay on October 21, 2010

Transcript of Governor Palin’s Facebook Note:

Drill, Baby, Drill and Mine, Baby, Mine; Serious Consequences

by Sarah Palin on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 10:40am

Although the Left chooses to mock the mantra of “drill, baby, drill,” and they ignorantly argue against the facts pertaining to the need for America to responsibly develop her domestic supply of natural resources, surely they can’t argue the national security implications of relying on foreign countries to extract supplies that America desperately needs for industry, jobs, and security. Some of the countries we’re now reliant upon and will soon be beholden to can easily use energy and mineral supplies as a weapon against us.

The solution? Simply, please don’t elect politicians who cast votes that lock up our plentiful supplies. Please consider the case of China bending us over a barrel as it develops rare earth minerals while we ban mining. Please consider Venezuela and Russia and Saudi Arabia and Brazil (as we subsidize their off-shore drilling) and all other energy-producing countries as the Left locks up ANWR, NPR-A, and other American lands that are teeming with our own needed energy supplies.

“Drill, baby, drill and mine, baby, mine.” Yep, the mantra may be mocked by the Democrats, but serious consequences ensue when we let the Left make us rely on foreign countries to feed us energy. The joke is on us if they win.

Please see this article by David Case on the important issue of China and rare earths.

Sarah Palin Endorses Four More Candidates Today

Posted by Dr. Fay on October 21, 2010

Transcript of Governor Palin’s Facebook Note:

More Great Candidates to Support this November

by Sarah Palin on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 10:37am

Here are some more great commonsense candidates whose races we need to support as we approach November 2nd.

Butch Otter for Governor of Idaho

As a proud Vandal grad who was born in Idaho and still has plenty of Idaho family roots, I’m honored to endorse Butch Otter for governor of the Gem State. Whether serving in Congress or the Governor’s office, Butch has been a voice for commonsense conservatism. He’s been a strong advocate for fiscal discipline and energy independence. As Governor of Alaska, it was a pleasure working with Butch as both our states bucked a growing federal government power grab in disregard of the Tenth Amendment. Butch has served Idaho with distinction as Governor, and Idaho can’t go wrong re-electing him this November. Please visit his website at www.otterforidaho.com and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.

Sean Bielat for Massachusetts’ 4th Congressional District

Remember what it was like in January 2010 when Massachusetts shocked the political world?  It’s that time again.  Sean Beilat is running against a Democrat incumbent who has been in government office for over 30 years.  Sean is a businessman, Marine veteran, and young father, and he is running against an ethically-challenged liberal icon who opposed reform of Fannie & Freddie before the meltdown.  That’s right, Sean Bielat is running against Barney Frank, and he needs your help to win.  Please visit Sean’s website at www.seanbielat.org and follow him on Twitter.

Stephen Fincherfor Tennessee’s 8th Congressional District

Stephen Fincher is not a politician.  He’s a farmer, business man, gospel singer, and a true patriot from Frog Jump (pop. 400) in West Tennessee.  He’s a conservative committed to limited government, lower taxes, and job creation.  Please visit Stephen’s website at www.stephenfincher.org and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.

Randy Hultgren for Illinois’ 14th Congressional District

Want to send a message about President Obama’s out-of-touch agenda?  Let’s win some seats in his backyard.  As an accomplished businessman and father of four, Randy Hultgren is committed to fighting for lower taxes and constitutional principles to get our country back on track.  We can count on Randy to stand up for Illinois families and bring real accountability to Washington.  Please visit Randy’s website at www.hultgrenforcongress.com and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.

November is just around the corner!

Governor Palin Serves Up Jackass for Dinner

Posted by Adrienne Ross on October 21, 2010

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

Why do people on the Left do this to themselves over and over? Why must they allow their Palin Derangement Syndrome to expose their own weaknesses while trying to find weaknesses in Governor Palin? Wouldn’t it be better–less embarrassing–to throw in the towel now before they look even more petty and yes, more stupid?

I am a couple days late weighing in on this due to my crazy schedule lately. However, I couldn’t let it pass without adding my two cents to the mix.

While addressing the Tea Party Express Rally in Reno earlier this week, Governor Palin spoke about not getting overly excited about the November elections just yet. There’s still work to be done, the Governor stated, and warned people not to “party like it’s 1773.”

Sitting around waiting for something over which to yell, “Gotcha!” to Governor Palin–as the Left usually does–this was their moment. She doesn’t know history! 1773? Ha! They flew into action to expose a perceived lack of knowledge on her part.

The problem is they are the ones lacking knowledge. Suffice it to say, however, now they’ve been schooled–by the one they call stupid. Now isn’t that…ironic?

1773 is the year of the original Boston Tea Party, a fact clearly foreign to the Left. So guess who took to Twitter to make a fool of themselves: PBS’s Gwen Ifill and Markos Moulitsas of the Daily Kos. Several other PDS sufferers joined in the giddiness and retweeted the two. The Huffington Post–the Huff and Puff, as I like to call them for all the hot air they blow–actually reprinted Moulitsas’ tweet.

Here are the screen shots:

No, not “so smart,” Markos. Just smart enough to make you look stupid.

Noel Sheppard points out:

Of course, all these geniuses needed to do was a simple Google search of “historical events of 1773.” The first response would have helped them identify that the Boston Tea Party happened on December 16th of that year.

I guess it’s easier for arrogant members of the Left to just ridicule rather than research. Certainly, that’s not at all surprising from the perpetually factually-challenged Moulitsas.

Governor Palin eventually weighed in herself, retweeting Michelle Malkin after Gwen Ifill refused to own up to her PDS-inspired gaffe:

Gwen Ifill, et al… Really? Silly. RT @michellemalkin: ‘Stand down,’ says @pbsgwen re. her Palin bashing. Own up, dear. http://is.gd/g8AYb

It must be tough to be a bitter Liberal frightened by the “insignificant” Sarah Palin. I almost feel sorry for them–almost. These people fall for it every single time. What am I saying? Am I actually suggesting Governor Palin knew exactly what would happen when she threw 1773 out there? You betcha! Josh Painter says it best:

We’re willing to bet that when Sarah’s dad taught her how to fish, hunt and trap, little did he realize that some day it would have a political payoff.

Donkey–or shall we say jackass–for dinner, anyone?

(h/t Josh Painter and Whitney Pitcher)
