ADN Pursues Miller who Broke No Laws; Leaves Murkowski Alone

Posted by Ron Devito on October 13, 2010

The Anchorage Daily News is conducting a smear campaign against Joe Miller for using Unemployment and Medicaid Benefits – both perfectly legal activities – but has nothing to say about Sen. Murkowski who is alleged to have had a cocaine habit (sale, possession, transport, distribution, of cocaine is generally a felony).

Further, public records show that Sen. Murkowski used, then represented PMBR, which helped people cheat on the Alaska bar exam – an exam the good Senator failed four times till finally passing on her fifth attempt. PMBR had to pay an $11.9 million judgment for stealing copyrighted test questions and giving to students for a fee.

What do we hear from the ADN? Silence. Not even one chirping cricket to pierce the publication’s stillness. If Joe Miller or Gov. Palin were accused of cheating and facilitating cheating on a bar exam; and felonious drug use, the ADN would blare it on the front page for months straight.

Tell the ADN to investigate these very serious allegations against a sitting Senator, who lost a primary and is in the throes of a futile write-in campaign.

Lessons We Can Learn from the Iron Lady

Posted by Ron Devito on October 13, 2010

Governor Palin today posted on Facebook:

A very happy birthday to Baroness Thatcher! There are so many lessons we can learn from her excellent example. She once said, “If you lead a country like Britain, a strong country, a country which has taken a lead in world affairs in good times and in bad, a country that is always reliable, then you have to have a touch of iron about you.” She sure did. Like her friend Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher had a steel spine. Her excellent defense of the free market is as relevant and true today as it was two decades ago. I encourage people to visit her foundation’s website and listen or read her speeches. There is a wealth of inspiration in the timeless truths she lived and led by.

Happy 85th Birthday, Margaret Thatcher!

Palin has best three months of fundraising

Posted by loricalabrese on October 13, 2010

You’ve heard it from Palin before: that you can make an impact in your elections without having a title. Well, Sarah Palin is standing by her claim and as a result, has had by far the best three months of fundraising since being the 2008 vice presidential candidate.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin raised more than $1.2 million for her political action committee during the last quarter, giving $93,500 to conservative candidates she favors in the midterm elections.

The total — which is nearly 50 percent more than her previous high mark, achieved in the second quarter of this year — was disclosed in a report filed Tuesday morning with the Federal Election Commission by SarahPAC, Palin’s leadership political action committee.

Palin gave money to 15 candidates, including $10,000 to U.S. Senate hopefuls Christine O’Donnell of Delaware and Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, U.S. Senate hopefuls Marco Rubio of Florida and John Hoeven of North Dakota, each with $5,000; Sharron Angle of Nevada and Rand Paul in Kentucky. She contributed $10,000 to Joe Miller, the tea party favorite in her home state who upset U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the GOP primary and is seeking to turn back Murkowski’s write-in candidacy in the Nov. 2 election.

Palin also gave $10,000 to the Iowa Republican Party, donations that coincided with her unity speech at the party’s largest annual fundraiser last month.

While Palin continues to make an impact on the midterm elections, what Tuesday’s report also shows is that Palin is in a good place should she decide to seek the 2012 nomination.
