Sullivan Apologizes for Pushing Boo-Gate

Posted by Adrienne Ross on September 29, 2010

By Adrienne Ross – http://www.motivationtruth.com

As most are aware, the Internet was abuzz with talk that Governor Palin was booed while in the Dancing with the Stars studio to cheer on her daughter, Bristol. Andrew Sullivan got caught up in Boo-Gate and then stated:

If DWTS explains what the booing was about and it had nothing to do with Sarah Palin’s emergence, we will, as always, correct the record.

When ABC squashed the booing rumors, Sullivan wrote:

ABC has now corrected the record. The booing was not about Sarah Palin but a reaction to an announcement of scores. The Dish apologizes for jumping to conclusions.

It blows my mind that people are so threatened by Governor Palin that they get all giddy at the mere thought that she would be treated poorly by an audience of people. The stories out there by people who were praying fervently that they were on to something is unbelievable. Some still refuse to accept ABC’s word on this. Sorry, folks, but audiences still stand in line to hear the Governor speak and to applaud the impact she’s having on the upcoming mid-term elections and the nation overall.

Now, on to the next “gate.” I’m sure it’s coming soon. I’ll be here to debunk that one, too.

US 4 Palin SarahPAC 3Q Money Bomb

Posted by Ron Devito on September 29, 2010

SarahPAC delineated why this day is so important in a mailing sent to donors. Salient point:

Thursday, September 30th is the last day of the month.

It’s also a crucial Federal Election Commission (FEC) filing deadline.

Why is this FEC report so important?

Rightly or wrongly, both Republicans and Democrat leaders, political pundits, candidates, and especially the national news media use it as a gauge to measure our strength as a political action committee.

If we have what they consider a poor report, you can bet the biased news media will a print a headline that says “Sarah Palin’s Influence Running Out of Steam.”

But if our report shows we’ve raised more money than the left-wing committees, folks will know we are a force to be reckoned with and the headline will read:

“Sarah Palin Conservatives running Obama Liberals Out of Town!”

Please visit SarahPAC and make a donation: $5, $10, $20, $25, $50, $100, $200 – whatever you can afford – or have fun and go with a symbolic amount: $20.12, $112 (for November 2) for instance.

A Tale of Two Michaels

Posted by Ron Devito on September 29, 2010

GOP Congressional candidate Michael Grimm, has released a new website, A Tale of Two Michaels, which delineates the differences between his Democratic opponent – Michael McMachon – and himself. Grimm is also opening a second campaign headquarters location at 7317 13th Avenue, Brooklyn, New York on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 1400 (2 PM) EDT.

Grimm is running for New York’s 13th Congressional District, which covers Staten Island and part of Brooklyn. Governor Palin endorsed Grimm on July 28, 2010, along with John Gomez for NY-2 who ran unopposed and won. US for Palin Publisher, Ron Devito is campaigning for Grimm. For the primary, Devito walked door-to-door in the 60th and 79th Election Districts, installed lawn signs in the 10314 zip code, called voters on primary day and closed the PS 36 poll. When Devito arrived to the victory celebration, Allegretti had already called Grimm to concede. Watch Grimm’s victory speech here. Devito is continuing his work for Grimm, in the midst of another door-to-door walking blitz in his own neighborhood and one to the west of his targeting voters in all parties.

A few grains of salt to take with that WSJ/NBC Poll

Posted by joshpainter on September 29, 2010

*
We’re talking about the poll that the lamestream media is hyping today as supposedly showing Democrats getting more excited about the midterm elections. You know, the one which allegedly shows that Bill Clinton is the most popular politician in the country and purports that Sarah Palin has lower approval ratings than Harry Reid? Yes, that one. Well, the devil is in the internals, as we always like to say when we’re talking about polls. So here are a few grains of salt that need to be taken with this poll:

FACTUALS: Now I am going to ask you a few questions for statistical purposes only.

QP1a Now, many people we’ve talked with tonight were unable to vote in primary elections this year, how about you, did you vote in a 2010 primary election in your state? (IF “YES,” THEN ASK:) And, did you vote in the
Democratic or Republican Party Primary?+
Yes, voted in a Republican Party Primary …………… 28
Yes, voted in a Democratic Party Primary……………. 33
Yes, voted in an Open Primary (VOL) ……………… 4
No, did not vote in any primaries ……………………….. 34
Not sure …………………………………………………….. 1
+ Results shown reflect responses among registered voters.

F1b/c. A lot of people are unable to get out and vote for many reasons. Did you happen to vote in last November’s election for president? (IF “YES,” ASK:) For whom did you vote — Barack Obama, John McCain, or someone else?
Yes, Voted 82
Voted for Barack Obama……………. 41
Voted for John McCain………………. 31
Voted for someone else …………….. 5
Not sure …………………………………. 5
No, Did Not Vote ………………………. 18
Not sure ……………………………….. –

[…]

QF4 Generally speaking, do you think of yourself as (ROTATE:) a Democrat, a Republican, an independent, or something else? (IF “DEMOCRAT” OR “REPUBLICAN,” ASK:) Would you call yourself a strong (Democrat/Republican) or not a very strong (Democrat/Republican)? (IF “NOT SURE,” CODE AS “NOT VERY STRONG DEMOCRAT/REPUBLICAN.”) (IF “INDEPENDENT,” ASK:) Do you think of yourself as closer to the Republican Party, closer to the Democratic Party, or do you think of yourself as strictly independent? (IF “NOT SURE,” CODE AS “STRICTLY INDEPENDENT.”)
Strong Democrat ……………………… 20
Not very strong Democrat ………….. 15
Independent/lean Democrat……….. 8
Strictly Independent ………………….. 13
Independent/lean Republican……… 11
Not very strong Republican………… 12
Strong Republican……………………. 14
Other (VOL) ……………………………. 5
Not sure ……………………………….. 2

[…]

QF9 Do you have any children in pre-school, kindergarten to fifth grade, middle school, or high school currently living in your household? (IF YES, SPECIFY)(ACCEPT ALL THAT APPLY)
Total Yes, PreK-12th Grade 32
Yes, Pre-school……………………………………………… 10
Yes, K-5th grade …………………………………………….. 13
Yes, Middle School…………………………………………. 9
Yes, High school ……………………………………………. 10
Yes, have kids at home out of high school (VOL) .. 3
No, no kids ………………………………………………….. 61
Not sure ……………………………………………………… 4

Okay, let’s get this straight… The sample surveyed for this poll was not limited to likely voters or even registered voters. The poll oversampled Democrat primary voters over Republican primary voters by 5 points and strong Democrats over strong Republicans by 6 points. It sampled Obama voters over McCain voters by 10 points (even though Obama’s actual margin of victory over McCain was 7 points in the 2008 election). And a whopping 61 percent of the people surveyed don’t have any children? Where was this poll conducted, in a singles apartment building in Manhattan?

“Curiouser and curiouser,” said Alice…

Restraining Order Issued Against Palin, Cole Stalker

Posted by Ron Devito on September 28, 2010

An Anchorage judge yesterday issued a restraining order barring Pennsylvania resident Shawn R. Christy from contact with either Gov. Palin or Kristan Cole, Heather A. Resz of the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman reported. Christy’s alleged stalking goes back over 16 months when Cole expressed concern over emails he had been sending. According to Cole, Christy sent proof of weapons purchases, years outdated pictures of himself, and expressed intent to buy a one-way ticket to Alaska. The precipitating factor was a call he made from a cell phone with a 907 (Alaska) area code and his verbal indication that he was in the area.

Resz reported that Wasilla’s Police Department have developed a comprehensive safety plan for both the Palin and Cole families, for which they are grateful.

Some of Christy’s contact with Cole can be seen on his Facebook wall, which also shows he lost his job at Hazleton Oil.

Resz reported that Cole said she and, “Gov. Palin want women to know that they don’t have to live in fear if they are being stalked. There are avenues to get help. Staying silent doesn’t help anybody.”
