Christine O’Donnell Raises Over $1 Million In 24 Hours!

Posted by Gary P Jackson on September 16, 2010

By Gary P Jackson

After a stunning blow to the GOP establishment, fueled by the endorsement of Sarah Palin, Christine O’Donnell kicked off her general election run by raising over $1 million in a single day.

For those paying attention, it was quite a ride! Initially Christine’s campaigned asked for a modest $200,000 from her supporters, but as word got out the establishment was upset she won, beating their boy … far left radical Mike Castle …  and were disrespecting her, money came in so fast, the campaign kept raising it’s expectations.

Soon the goal went from $200,000 to $350,000. Then it was $500,000, then $750,000 and soon, $1 million.

In the end, the clock ran out, but Christine raised $850,000 in the 24 hour period. Not bad for someone the GOP elite machine hasn’t a clue about. This was all raised from small donors online.

The Republican Party and the NRSC are limited to $87,000 between the two in total direct spending they can give the campaign, though they can also spend money indirectly. Both have pledged their full monetary support.

Jim DeMint, who also endorses Christine, has pledging $174,000 through his Senate Conservative’s Fund, which you can visit here. Donors to DeMint’s fund can choose to earmark their donations for a specific candidate or candidates. There are no limits to the amount of money that can be spent by the fund.

In the end, that’s over $1.1 million in one day. A good solid start to a winning campaign.

Of course, the campaign can always use a buck or two more, so stop by http://www.christine2010.com/ and add your support. You can follow her on Facebook and Twitter as well.

As for her Marxist-democrat opponent (self-proclaimed) Chris Coons, Pat Dollard reports he is already quite intimidated by the Tea Party favorite.
