Patently Absurd – Johnston for Wasilla Mayor

Levi Johnston appears bent on pushing patent absurdity to new heights. Johnston has no high school diploma, was forced by court order to pay child support, told numerous lies about the Palin family and pursued a career as a soft-core porn star. He announced two weeks ago he was considering running for Mayor of Wasilla, not with a servant’s heart, but in the service of a reality show. One un-named producer in a Reuter’s report indicated that Johnston does not have sufficient star power to warrant a reality show, so he has to do something funny or outrageous. Running for office is serious business, but apparently considered “funny or outrageous” in Johnston’s case, because he is so grossly unfit to serve.

Wasilla’s current mayor, Verne Rupright said upon hearing Johnston’s announcement, “…since I am nearly old enough to be Levi’s grandfather I think it would be wise for him to get a high school diploma and keep his clothes on. The voters like that!”

Apparently, Johnston will need to do a lot more than wear clothes and complete his high school education, for a poll conducted by Public Policy Polling found that he is less likable than John Edwards, the Democratic presidential candidate who impregnated his mistress while his wife was terminally ill.

Two years ago September 3, Gov. Palin said at the RNC Convention as she announced her acceptance of the Vice Presidential nomination:

Politics isn’t just a game of clashing parties and competing interests. The right reason is to challenge the status quo, to serve the common good, and to leave this nation better than we found it. No one expects us all to agree on everything, ut we are expected to govern with integrity, and good will, and clear convictions, and a servant’s heart.”

By running for an elected office in the service of a reality show, Johnston is making a mockery of the political process and running for all the wrong reasons. Polling data, even by this rather left-leaning polling outfit clearly illustrates the patent absurdity of a Johnston mayoral run. His continued association with Tank Jones and Rex Butler, both major Obama supporters clearly indicate who is driving this bus, and why.
